Vikings Pizza in York

Ordered at 10pm on Thursday 21st March. 15" pizza. Big order in front of us, no delay to our food. Staying in Indigo across the road. Great quality pizza and 2 of us couldn't finish it. Loads of toppings. Will use again no problem. Great place, food and staff.

We order from Viking anytime we have a takeaway because we absolutely love them! We have never had a single "bad" item of food from them. They are AMAZING! We cannot say enough about how good their food is. They also take cash on delivery which is rare nowadays. If you order from anywhere in York, order from these guys, they really are the best. 😊

Used to order from here all the time. Literally got a calzone delivered tonight... it was burnt and chewy but stone cold!

Went for pizza fries and wedges The pizza was burnt the fries weren't what I asked for cheese was put on them I ordered them with plenty of chip spice not cheese the wedges were soggy it was all cold when i got it home have used these for years very disappointing they cater for drunk students who eat anything when they've had a drink Won't be using viking anymore it's really gone down to what it used to be sadly this is what happens when york restaurants cater for Students and tourists Rip off

Ordered first time tonight, wow. Best kebabs in York. Great sauces too.

Worst takeaway ever. Burnt pizza and a doner "kebab" that barely meets the description of a kebab. Just rancid salad and 2 tiny undercooked pieces of meat wrapped in a tortilla. Only ate one slice of pizza and the rest went in the bin. Still ended up with horrendous food poisoning

Use to order from these all the time till they put prices up. Although good value for money. For some unknown reason no sauces with kebab tonight when there usually is? Glad coke can actually came with it

Ordered a Parmesan, not at all it, it was awful, if you are looking for a traditional parmo or anything like that avoid here

I've been ordering food from vikings pizza for over 8 years and never used to have any problems but recently the chips have arrived cold and soggy. Other food is yummy. Will give them another chance but if don't change I won't be ordering from them again

Pizza was good and the chips were lovely but the burger tasted a bit cheap considering a 10" pizza and a burger cost £19.

It came very fast however £16 in total for one chicken parmesan delivered i expected it to be larger, not with the chips just thrown on top in one box and also chose you guys from trying to Google best chicken parmesan in York and i don't know if is because I chose a garlic option but there was no white sauce/bechamel.. It isn't terrible food and arrived very fast but i feel this should of been £10 at most

Wouldnt even rate a full star at the moment and they used to be 5 star in my eyes Most orders are brilliant but I don't know if has been taken over by new management or not but the last 2 orders I have received have had items missing off our order when iv rang and explained things where missing they told me I was wrong so I think I'll be going elsewhere hopefully will get my full order

Whilst in York for a few days we stumbled upon this venue whilst making our way back to our hotel, food was absolutely perfect and we would highly recommend to all.

One of my favourite places for pizza, always a win however I ordered the spicy chicken wings, there wasn't much meat on them, there was quite a bit of pink and the majority of it was just batter. I wouldn't risk these again as they've made me feel quite ill but the pizza is always fab! Lovely delivery man too.

Really really enjoyed the pizza we had so yum didn't take long at all and lovely chips , I'm from Doncaster if your from York or go to your go here for your food 👍

What a rip off!! £24 for 2 small pizzas and chicken nuggets!!

£12+ for a medium average base pizza. Rip off better and cheaper at Dominoes or Pizza Hut

Cold food and free garlic bread missing (which I later found out in the small print you have to request for some reason)

Ordered two doner and chip wraps and they came absolutely flat cold it was like the chips were as if they were frozen! Rang the restaurant, the guy who answered was so so rude, he was getting angry on the phone accusing me of lying and his words “ I don’t bloody believe you “ and put the phone down Last time I ordered it was spot on won’t be ordering again!

First order from Viking pizza. Bit expensive for a bottle of wine and a kebab, but hey at 2am, I didn't expect it to be cheap! (Deliveroo order). Have to say, was very speedy delivery (4 miles away) and the medium kebab was huge! And great quality. Wouldn't hesitate to order from these guys again. Credit where credit is due! Cheers!

Fantastic pizzas and great staff. Would definitely recommend.

Good experience all round. The guy on the phone was friendly and helpful and food arrived hot in about 20 mins possibly less, I was really impressed. Nice driver too, would recommend this place

Ordered 3, 15 inch pizza. Arrived piping hot. Nicest pizza we've had in a very long time. Lovely delivery driver. Only took 20 minutes from ordering to delivery. Would highly recommend. 5☆☆☆☆☆.

Average Pizza house, lots of choice, only tried Pizza, can’t comment on kebabs etc. Much friendlier staff and pleasant compared to others in York. 3 stars because the pizza ingredients are just generic and nothing special/different to a lot of other takeaways, plus felt like we’d swallowed a brick thereafter. Not bad for deals. Might go again to try the kebabs.

Good delivery time and huge choice of pizza toppings. However, both our pizzas were extremely greasy, soaking through the thick cardboard they came in. The base of the Hot Shot Pizza was a sponge of grease.

I have passed viking pizzas in Walmgate York many times and at 11pm I was asked to order pizza's in and could only be done online and with Deliveroo Viking pizza came up and would shut at 2am and was not too near but was a good enough place too go.

Top tier donner, chips and wings. Only complaint would be the chilli sauce

I ordered an hour and 20 ago (said it would take 40 mins), conveniently enough time to watch king fu panda 2. I shall now watch Kung fu panda 3 and if it’s not arrived I’ll be rather miffed

Honestly my dreams have come true after eating from this. The food is simply euphoric! I had drug addiction to find happiness in my life until I found Vikings pizza. Now instead to doing drugs I order from Vikings!

Best kebabs in York, always get their mixed grills and they are amazing

Honestly would give no stars if I could. The chicken strips weren't great at all like they tasted so cheap and for almost seven quid with chips I'd expect something better than like an SFC chicken. Then on top of that my food was left on the doorstep and the delivery driver didn't even bother knocking at the door so my food went cold not impressed at all. Will not be ordering again which is a shame as I have enjoyed them in the past especially as their pizzas have been nice. Ont top of that when I rang them to explain to them that my food was cold and had been left on my doorstep they said that they had tried to ring me which they hadn't. Honestly were very very rude I understand how busy they can be but there isn't any need to be rude. I was trying to let them know to check that the drivers are working properly because I know deliveroo drivers can be a bit funny sometimes.

Ordered the 3 pieces of southern fried chicken. Last year I'd say it were average, but I ordered some tonight and I can say you won't find better at KFC. Significant increase in quality. 5 stars!

FAST FAST FADT Delivery. Only tried Kebab meat here but family was impressed and I love to snack on Kebab meat it's just what I do. The meat here was the best I have ever tried seriously. Family loved it we only ordered here because our local was closed for a bank holiday. YOU ARE NOW OUR LOCAL. Gonna try some pizza if that is as good as the meat. 5th star earned. Will update.

The food was very expensive for what you got.

It's all right, nothing more. There are better Pizza places nearby, but Vikings is fine. When they're busy they can be a bit slow, and pizzas are just average for a cheap takeaway pizza place. The best feature is that at least they're website is slick and easy to use; something that cannot be said for many similar establishments.

If you want a misogynistic conversation and then the call handler hanging up when you call for a second time then this is the place for you. Maybe not - 90 minutes to deliver (not 40 as stated when ordering and we live less than 2 miles away), deliverer went to the wrong address and somehow that was our fault, pizzas average at best and no difference between pepperoni and double pepperoni. Never again!

2 pizzas ordered. pizzza was wrong and delivery was late. Delivery driver didn’t have correct change so we over payed as well. Rang store to get the correct pizza delivered and the guy on phone said it was our fault somehow refused to send the correct pizza and hung up.

Food use to be very good but now gone down hill

Been a customer before it changed hands years ago, but still lovely food, always on time if not early. Pizza’s are not greasy, chips are nice with the chip spice. And the best kebabs in York!

Got 2 Small pizza,chicken wings and chips with a garlic mayo dip for about 20 quid. Got home the chicken was pink that’s bad. But worse the dip was off like how can you do that

Great chicken and their chips are amazing.

Used to come here all the time and was amazing when I started uni in 2014, after leaving York for a couple years and coming back something has obviously changed.. extra requests are ignored, pizza took over 90 minutes to arrive and was cold soft and squishy.. extremely disappointed won’t be using again.

Absolutely crazy. Got a full tub of Ben and Jerry’s and a bottle of water for £6. Didn’t even have to ask to speak to the manager. Very impressed, Love Karen

The pizza are not crunchy, it was totally soft..... I had a pizza funghi, I will never order pizza's here anymore. The chicken was a bit dry but the taste was good.

As with any of these small takeaways, the food quality is terrible unless you are drunk, you have very low standards, you're a student or you have yet to experience anything better in life. I had a burger and chips while sober and it was one of the worst burgers I've ever eaten. Cheap tacky burger covered in some kind of watery ketchup all in a basic bun for about £5.50. You could even pay about 90p more at McDonalds for a medium Signature Collection burger meal, or just pay a few pounds extra and get a Five Guys.

Well after numerous years of been a loyal customer I can well and truly say I will never use this place again the customer service over the past couple of times has been rubbish food not arriving drivers not been able to find my house even though the owner used to live next door lol and drivers turning up with no change I could go on but won't stay well clear if I was you thanks for reading

One of faves. I'm surprised by the amount of bad reviews. I've been using this takeaway for 8 years since I moved locally and the food has always been awesome. The kebabs are fab and the burgers are pretty tasty also. They rarely get our order wrong and the staff are very friendly. My only complaint would be that the garlic mayo isn't the best and not strong enough for my tasting.

I usually get a takeaway from here every weekend. Good size frued chicken pieces and the their special receipe hot chilly sauce is their best selling point! I also must admit I soley come here just for the sauce compared to other chicken sauce. Good choice of pizzas and kebabs which are reasonably delicious. Only cons being cash only takeaway as they don't accept cards for payment.

The pizza tasted great and after a long night out of drinking, this place was perfect as it was on the way home and strategically optimal. Friends also enjoyed their chicken wings. Order didn't take too long as well and the staff were polite. Should definitely check out the meaty fiesta pizza.

Habiendo recibido órdenes de los vikingos, no podemos quejarnos. . . aunque la comida no siempre se ponía caliente.Esta noche pedimos y después de una hora no llegó la comida. En total hice 4 llamadas telefónicas. . 1. Se le dijo a la orden fue recibida y en camino 2. El pedido es de 5 minutos. 3. Permítame llamar por teléfono al conductor y devolverle la llamada (no devolvió la llamada) 4. Finalmente, hablé con un joven que realmente trató de ayudar y confirmó que no se había recibido la orden (¡ojalá hubiera recibido su nombre para agradecerle!)Así que ahora estoy esperando a ver si el pago se ha tomado como pago autorizado por el banco.Lo más importante aquí es POR QUÉ NO SER HONESTO EN PRIMERA LLAMADA!

Standards clearly slipping here. Had Mixed Kebab and it was awful. Greasy and clammy doner meat and tough cubes of shish. Have used this place for quite some years but will be finding somewhere new very soon

Very good local takeaway, prices reasonable, wide selection of items, I have the veggie burger with chips and it is cheaper than McDonald's and significantly nicer. Their online ordering system is very useful, especially living close to Vikings and having the facility to pay by card on the website is useful. The staff even recognise me now as I usually have the same thing each time.

Ordered wrap got pita salad very poor. No red cabbage no tomato no cucumber delivery very long. Asked for sauce and no chilli sauce. No forks no tissue

I wanted cheesy chips and they gave me grated cheese and chips, the food is absolutely awful in there i just thought i’d Grab something quick but they even. took the piss on that and gave everyone after me who ordered their food, smh then they had the adassity to say they have other customers they don’t care

First time I’ve used this takeaway but a flyer came through the door at a time I was hungry so I ordered a cheese parmo with onion rings and dips ..the onion rings were just congealed and the parmo tasted and smelled of antiseptic perhaps from being placed on a freshly wiped surface ..it wasn’t hot or even warm...rather than impulsively leaving feedback on their site I sent an email explaining what I had received ..I received one back saying it could take up to 24 hrs and asked me to send proof of the order ...48hrs later still waiting for an apology and a refund .I kept the food until tonight case anyone was interested enough to see /smell it but now had to throw it out but took photos of it ....so annoying that takeaways can treat their customers like they don’t matter

Tuvimos una gran donner kebab con chips de queso y una pieza de pollo frito del sur. Realmente no me puedo quejar de la comida, estaba bien caliente y de buena calidad el kebab era enorme. Es ideal para nosotros, ya que estaba justo enfrente de nuestro hotel, lo pasamos muy bien y sin duda lo recomiendo.

We weren’t planning on ordering from here but it was directly opposite our hotel so we ordered out of convenience. We ordered 2 large kebabs, 2 cheesy chips and they chucked in a free garlic pizza bread!

The Vikings Hungery Horse is a ideal venue for a meal or night out would highly recommend great location just a Ace place to eat out or have a quiet drink.
