Great pizza. Hella cheese. Hit the spot! Boom!

The service was friendly and super fast when we ate in. The pizza was delicious and fresh. Will come again.

I really like this place. Minimalist takeaway pizza close to my home, few tables inside and outside if you wish to eat there. The pizza is good but not consistently good, really depends on how is going to be the pizza chef. Overall good value for money.

Don't call yourself italian style pizza if you don't know where to start or how to make italian pizza dough, I've had the worse meal ever in my life in uk from you last night, my friend and I we ordered 2 meal deals for 36 pounds and that wa not the value, the pizza was raw, I've been sick all day

Ordered delivery, took 1.5 hours to come; food was cold. When it arrived, half my order wasn’t there (2x Nutella Calzones totalling £10). Uber eats onlyboffered £1.59 of compensation?!? Very disappointed. The pizza was nice though but DO NOT order delivery. Collect it to make sure it’s all there/ hot. I’m really hoping to go back but due to the price and this experience I don’t know if I can. The garlic bread was pretty tasteless.

Terrible. Ordered 17.27. Now 20.36 no delivery yet. Not here yet so no food rating. 2 kids waiting for their food for over 3 hours . Went to order and the timings are still Showing 15-30 minutes for delivery.

Best pizza I can ever remember having, at a reasonable cost. Anything from the main pizza chains is like cardboard compared to this. Friendly, helpful, kind, personable service. Thank you.

Waited 2 hours after ordering, no contact from them, phone number invalid. Sent several emails. Nothing. Had to rustle something up for the kids last minute. No sign of any pizza. Will be expecting full refund and will not be returning. Shame cos the pizzas are pretty good. Unfortunately my car is broken down otherwise I'd have collected myself. Anyway terrible service, they could at least call and give an update.....

Very unfriendly staff. Atmosphere is worse than a fast food place and it is cold inside in winter.

Absolutely terrible soggy pizza. We also ordered extra cheese on both pizzas and it barely had any. They also added very poor quality Italian ham. To add insult to injury, the cheesy garlic bread was daytime robbery - only 3 out of 6 slices actually had any cheese! I used to love their pizzas when I first discovered them in 2020, but they have been steadily going down hill, getting stingy with ingredients even when you pay for extra plus poorly cooked. This is the third bad order in a row so I’m afraid they have lost me as a customer.

Delivered so late the food was stone cold

Don't know what happened but this place went from having best pizza in Bristol in opinion to being not worth the money. Had a special 4 seasons today and not only the dough was too thin but it was totally tasteless. Also 1.50 for the dip is a joke. Definitely not coming back.

I asked for extra olives, I know it’s a small thing but please… when i’m paying £17 for a pizza… and I ask for more olives, put more than 8 on the pizza because nothing about it has changed. It’s a small thing but of course I’m satisfied with the ham and the pizza itself, but I even asked to have more olives and if that’s the norm for it, then i’ll just stop buying from here. The people are nice but I feel it’s more of a company choice rather than the workers choice, I could he wrong of course

Great pizza. Not Great service. The gelato isn’t gelato, it was ice cream. There were no spoons to eat it with either.

Pizza is always fresh, tasty and hot!!!

Let me start by saying I'm a food snob, so I rarely eat out anywhere these days, especially pizza places. However the moment I saw calzone on the menu I had to try it. (9) Calzone was great, dough was nice, plenty of quality filling, although I had to order extra cheese, it may have been a little sparing otherwise. Everything tasted fresh, ready 10 minutes after ordering. Nutella Calzone for dessert also had good flavour and lovely soft dough. Little pricey but worth it if you fancy a quality pizza. Staff were friendly too. If I'm getting pizza from anywhere again, it'll be here.

Pizza topping very different from picture on the website.

We arrived around 9pm on a Saturday. We knew what we were going to order as we often get pizza here and we usually opt in for a meal deal with a pizza and dessert. But we ordered it normally asking for our usual pizza and a dessert but she didnt put in the meal deal price so she tried to charge us for full price and when we mentioned it, she sighed and rolled her eyes which we found really rude. We managed to get the meal deal anyways and straight after we paid, she said shes finished her shift already so talk to someone else if we need anything and she rushed out. Not the greatest service.

Very bad. Mediocre pizza. We paid for extra toppings and we got 2 tiny thinly sliced pieces of chicken on each slice. What? It was my first time trying this place, and last.

Not much to say. This is the buffalo mozzarella pizza with fresh basil I got for £12.90...

Good pizza, reasonable prices and excellent garlic mayo.

Closed early... And always missed to try it.

We ordered from them and in the order I specifically said I was allergic to nuts in which they said they would take this into consideration. We then had our delivery arrive and found they had sent the wrong order, including a dessert with hazelnut in. The driver was really helpful and said he would go back and get our correct delivery, as I couldn’t call them as their phone kept going to voicemail. When the driver got there he called me to let me know that I would send another order if they could, and didn’t want to talk to me on the phone about it. We never got a redelivery and we waited until last delivery at 11pm and by that time many things were shut so we couldn’t order anything.

Not edible, waited for 1 hour and a half for delivery, pizza was stone cold when it arrived, cold ham just shoved on top the pizza itself doesn’t even look like it’s seen the inside of the oven. The mozzarella garlic bread on the other hand is cremated

these pizzas are soo good!! I’m addicted! Sometimes visiting days in a row because they never disappoint. The 1886 margarita & buffalo mozzarella are both mouthwatering. The sauces are very nice too. Customer service is great. Visited around Christmas and New Years & staff were just as happy and welcoming!!!

Pizza arrived without rocket and ham used definitely wasn’t prosciutto.

Always had delicious pizzas at this place. Surprised at how tasty the dough is, and I like the simple menu too with really thoughtful flavours. However, IMPOSSIBLE to contact them via mobile (tried on several occasions, just goes to voicemail), so there is no customer service whatsoever if you’re ordering pizza for delivery. Be warned that if you need to mention any allergies or speak to a human, you won’t be able to!

Super friendly service today, staff had brilliant music taste 😄 great pizza choices (wouldn't say no to a bit more cheese on top though!) and meal deals. The lemon dessert was delicious, would recommend. Ate here once before a while ago and was pleased we had an equally good experience.

I've ordered garlic bread, garlic bread with mozzarella, Italian ham and Italian spicy salami with truffle mayo and garlic mayo. I don't know if it was a mistake on the Pizza 1889 side but garlic bread with mozzarella has no mozzarella or it has got that much that I can't even see. Both garlic breads are just a waste of money: very dry, without any flavour from the garlic, tastless. Both Italian ham and Italian spicy salami were tasty but nothing special. Spicy salami pizza built the whole spicy from chilli and not from salami which was disappointing. Mayos were also alright and probably homemade but it's not even close to dips from other pizza shops which are also making dips by themselves. I tried Pizza 1889 a couple years ago in Broadmead and it was alright but nothing special. I gave it another chance and it feels like a worse experience than before.

free garlic bread and waiter is hella chill

Supposed to be Anchovies, but replaced with tuna. Supposed to have additional spicy salami on olive and anchovies. This was added to the four cheese pizza. Four cheese pizza had no Gorgonzola on it. Very very poor.

Pizzas are actually quite nice, however many times they are short of some menu items, so a bit disappointing. Good for a quick bite and take away, not a destination restaurant (is in the middle of a carpark).

Pizza arrived stale and cold. Tasted like it had been sat ages waiting to be delivered. Was looking forward to it and when you fork out for a takeaway especially with the rising prices, you expect better. First and last time ordering from here.

Ordered from Bristol Avon meads , worst pizza I’ve ever Tasted, full of grease, base was undercooked but crust was like a cracker, very little toppings. Garlic cheese bread tasted bland , absolutely do no recommend!

Trying to find a decent pizza place, and this is not it. Yes, delivery was quick, mostly likely due to the raw pizzas, if you can call them pizzas. Garlic bread was pretty much raw, unseasoned pizza dough that tasted horrible. Tried to phone the random mobile number connected to the restaurant, which goes straight to voicemail. Would not recommend. £48 in the bin, but better than the £50+ it would have been without the discount.

A good pizza, there is a variety to choose from and they prepare it quickly, the staff is very friendly

The food is amazing. Price-quality more than reasonable. The staff was very attentive and helpful, they even recommended us some offers because they were cheaper. The place is small, inside there are three tables (for about 8 people) and outside it has a terrace. 100% recommended.

The waitress was very friendly and explained to us the different menus available.

I had ordered takeaway and after getting the wrong order from the restaurant, we had to reorder and when the order came it was very cold and inedible. Extremely disappointed! The smallest garlic bread ever!

Great Italian style pizza, much better than normal takeaway pizzas

The pizza was great as normal. Bit annoyed with some of the extras - paid £1.50 for anchovies which were put on the wrong pizza. The garlic mayo and honey chilli dip were both tiny portions (less than 1tsp in each) and they cost £1 and £1.50 each.

I orders a goats cheese pizza from here and it was delicious, the dough was incredibly light and soft with a perfect amount of each topping. I'll definitely be going back to try another pizza soon.

Avoid , terrible service . Food arrived an hour later than suggested on deliveroo. Wrong items came , items missing and half the food was cold. Deliveroo won’t help, and can’t get hold of anyone at pizza 1889 to sort this !

The base tasted like rubber and it was burned, the topping were non existent. Garlic bread was just a piece of pizza base with some hint of garlic. Very unfair for the price. Not the italian standard

The avonmeads team are great! We ordered pizzas through deliveroo and when they turned up an hour later the pizzas were ruined due to the driver putting the boxes in sideways. Neither the driver or deliveroo really seamed to care, but we called up the store to find out our options and both will and carly were so helpful. Finally sorted a refund through deliveroo and went to avonmeads ourselves to place an order, the team were very apologetic and the food was really quick and delicious as always! We order their pizzas all the time because they're so good, and our service direct from the location is always excellent. Highly recommend!
