It was awful. Drink expensive. Toilets covered in graffiti ('... expensive whore'). Skirting boards with serious mould. Don't waste your time here.

Awful experience in this bar, we had booked a table for 8 on a sat afternoon for drinks and cocktails. Lots of missing drinks to make the cocktail and average cocktails at best. The cloakrooms were dirty and tatty and smelt bad. I don’t think we will be returning.

£24 for 2 large glasses of warm Chardonnay!! Outrageous prices, poor decor and foul toilets! Avoid this place, there are much better pubs in Winchester.

We came in for our table, an hour early and the staff were really accommodating! The food was absolutely delicious, with great portion sizes. It was very clear the food was cooked fresh and the drinks were amazing! This will be our go-to choice every time we’re in Winchester. Great job everyone!

My experience: unfriendly and disinterested staff, zero atmosphere, sticky tables and broken dirty toilets. My advice: spend your hard earned money elsewhere - there are so many more pleasant bars/eateries in Winchester!

Arrived and was greeted. Staff were friendly. Slow service but we did order cocktails so can accept that. Went to the toilet ……omg. I’ve seen cleaner festival toilets. Absolutely filthy. I didn’t order anymore drinks after that. No toilet roll except a roll on the floor outside the toilets. Dirty tissues on floor. Broken seats. Stench. So then looked more closely at the seat in the bar. Was disgusting. Stained. Never again.

Visited here post-lockdown for a meal and drinks and I was so happy with the food and service! I managed to grab a veggie and gluten-free dish which was on the brunch menu but the manager Sam ensured that I could have it outside of regular hours. The place has a cool vibe and the waiting staff were really friendly. Definitely going here again for food and drinks.

Keep doing what you are doing. I came for an early birthday with a lactose and a gluten free and they felt so special they had choice of meals and we're offered desserts(which they dont normally get) the food was very well priced. We were offered dishes not on the reduced menu. The cocktails a tad pricey for the size but I'm not complaining as everything else was amazing and effortless. Even got a lunchtime discount which we wasn't expecting so we gave back in tips Sam c was amazingly friendly too. We will be back again!

We popped in twice during the day for drinks and the team in there is great. Really nice and friendly and efficient and with a good awareness of Covid restrictions.In the evening a young drunk bloke on his birthday started singing and wandering around from table to table encouraging people to join in and management handled it all really well, with no unpleasantness. It was actually thoroughly entertaining and we can't remember when we enjoyed a night out so much. Perhaps we should get out more!!! I will deffo visit again when we're in Winchester.

Had a really nice piri-piri chicken dish here and the chicken was the moistest that I have experienced in a long long time. Added to this the spices were not too hot if you don't enjoy food that is too spicy. The service was good and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit!

I’ve visited on a few occasions and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. However, I have been repeatedly disappointed by the food. Things coming different from the description, or tasting bland and boring. The only thing that is reliably good are the burgers. Very very disappointed with a penne pasta dish we ordered.

We went here on a Saturday for lunch. Just the 3 of us. Very friendly and helpful waiting staff. It was empty when we arrived. The place could do with a bit of a clean. For example, we were seated in a booth and the table felt a bit dusty. You could see lots of dust and dirt on the windows as well. Looks like it needs a bit of TLC. We ordered drinks and they took forever to arrive. Our main meals were that hot either. My halloumi burger could have been a bit crispier and warmer. The plates were not hot. The brownie dessert again took a long time to arrive. I understand that under new guidelines, we would have to wait a bit longer than expected as there is less staff and procedures to follow. The brownie dessert was very dense and heavy. I am not sure whether I would visit again, I expected more.

Dead fly’s on the windowsill,dirty windows and the wait for food and to pay was just stupid sat there for about 30 minutes after being given the card machine did someone come over to check everything was ok it’s not that busy why is service so slow!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing service, felt really safe with the new measures in place, was served quickly and efficiently with amazing cocktails. Cannot praise Kye enough for his watermelon daqueries and other cocktails. Amazing customer service and felt safe! Kye was also the person who let me in they ensured I sanitised my hands and had a reasonable amount of people in the bar so it was amazing overall. Definitely recommend end will be returning for my monthly dose of cocktails!

This was our first visit here, but have passed it many times. We booked a table and had excellent service from our waiter. Went here yesterday. We were looking for an independent restaurant, but couldn’t find any open as it was early - so reluctantly went here, as we avoid chain restaurants usually.That said, we were really impressed. Had a selection of tapas type sharing dishes which were actually really good! Reasonable price too, and a friendly chap delivering the dishes. Would definitely go here again when we’re in town.

We wanted a quick bite to eat before heading to the cinema. Everywhere was very busy but there appeared to be lots a table free in here. This should have set alarm bells ringing but as we were short on time we thought we would give it a go. We were met by a surly member of staff who when asked if they did tapas style dining said no. We looked at the menu and they did small plates!?! We were headed to a seating area and she told us we couldn’t sit there as it was for drinks only so we move to the other side. After ordering we waited and when we saw food being brought out for other customers that had come in after us we chased our order. They said they’d had an issue in the kitchen and said it shouldn’t be long (we don’t think our order ever got to the kitchen as we waited again). When our order did arrive we were told one of the platters we had ordered didn’t look great as they didn’t have everything. They did say they would take 10% off the bill. This was a bit of an insult given we had waited a lot longer than we should have and we had more than 10% of our food missing. We had already paid for the food at the point of ordering. Once we had finished our food we waited for someone to sort out some sort of refund. But, we had to leave for cinema. Not before a quick visit to the loo which were disgusting. Overflowing sanitary bins, flaking paint and grubby floors. I almost which I had gone to the loo before ordering food as I wouldn’t have eaten there. Won’t be long before this place closes I’m sure. With the high street as it is a little bit of effort can go a long way.

Think it’s ridiculous that you don’t open on a Thursday even if it is Boxing Day. Bit unfair for us who want to come out and not spend time with our family’s. Disgrace to students and a disgrace to Winchester.

Came in here for a work gathering blurring lunch. It was pretty quiet here compared to other places. The service was still pretty slow to be honest. As it was quiet and there was a few of us, we seemed to be more of a hindrance then anything and didn’t feel we was wanted. Ended up staying for a quick drink then left.

We had booked a table for 4 for dinner, once we had sat down we were told that over half the items were not available which I find strange. The salad was bland to put it mildly, couldn’t even be bothered to slice the avocado, per pri chicken was tasteless and so called purple coleslaw was the end of a piece of cabbage, totally inedible, toilets were filthy.

Came in for our annual Christmas meal, food was delicious (especially the brie starter!) and came out promptly upon our arrival. After a wonderful day exploring Winchester we were warmly greeted by a waitress and front of house.

I came in for the club night on Thursday and I received fantastic service from Jake on the shot bar. He was fantastic and gave me and my friends great service every time we came up to the bar and he smiled every time. Also the security team are brilliant, no better group of doormen in Winchester

After heading to Winchester for some food and cocktails on a Saturday evening for a birthday celebrations. We found ourselves in this establishment as it was getting late, knowing it was a local hotspot for the time of night. After a very relaxed, fun evening, we found ourselves inside, around a table opposite the bar where we spent the remainder of our night. Chilling out having a good time. Another round of drinks was purchased. Which was a significant amount of money. However when they were brought back to the table the lights had come on and the door staff were clearing everyone out. The bar staff had not made us aware it was about to close and proceeded to take our money. With the lights on and full glasses we tried to be civil expecting a grace period for us to finish. When we were abruptly told to leave. We asked to be given time to drink them. When we were told to down the drinks or lose them. A doormen had got up into one of our faces after shouting at one of the ladies in the group telling her to get out. He had threatened that if it was not downed now he would knock it out of his hand. Waiting for an aggressive response so he could prove his manliness in front of his colleagues. The manager was asked for but the group of doormen (all surrounding the area looking for an opportunity to ‘intervene’) refused and told us to take our problems elsewhere. After not reacting and telling the doorman he would not down the drink in front of him. The drink was smashed out of his hand with the glass shattered over the floor for the unfortunate staff there to clean up. They then forcibly ushered us out of the building and made aware to the pub opposite that we were aggressive and troublemakers. We had no intention of going elsewhere and was planning on going home, nothing crazy, the event left us shocked and put a whole downer on the evening. We have no intentions of ever going back there. Would advise that if you go here on an evening that you should expect trouble and little help and sympathy from the door staff. Who are more likely to cause trouble then prevent it. Far better more sophisticated places to go for drinks in Winchester. Avoid.

Was only passing through Winchester when I came across Pitcher & Piano. They have a great veggie selection on the menu (I had the halloumi fries and Jackfruit burger!!). Food came out quickly and tasted great. Had two very friendly and attentive waitresses (Jas and Rosey). Would absolutely go again.

Came across this restaurant by chance. What an excellent find. The fish and chips were possibly the best that I have eaten in the UK. Good portions served by friendly and attentive staff, all at a price much lower than most in Winchester.

Lovely big bar. Lots of seating. Bonus of a small courtyard outside seating. Staff very welcoming. Good range of drinks. Good value. Only downside was that the toilets were upstairs.

I would never use this place again, I come up from Somerset looking to spend a nice day out with the famliy having lunch and it was ruined, the slow roasted belly of pork that I ordered was inedible you could not even cut into the meat it was so tough, the veggies were not even hot, my son orderd the chicken roast and the chicken was so undercooked it would have been dangerous to eat it, needless to say these two dishes were returned, my son was so disgusted he would not order another meal, I did and had the crispy fish brioche roll and it was good, my granddaughter was underwhelmed with her halloumi Burger she said the roll was stale actually it looked burnt to me, the only one who did eat his roast was my grand son in law even though the beef was a little tough because he does not like to complain and he was hungry.. they really need to stop selling roast dinners untill they get a proper chef , I have been in the catering trade owning my own businesses for many years and would never allow the standard that was shown here, the only saving grace were the serving staff that were very apologetic helpful and very sweet and who and felt sorry for, I did not get their names a young lady who took our order and the young man who dealt with our complaints this was at 12.15 on bank holiday Sunday ..
