Pitcairngreen Inn in Perth & Kinross

Little gem we found by accident as we were passing through on our way back home, parked overnight in the car park, and went for something to eat & drink, weren't disappointed at all,,,, staff were absolutely brilliant, and the food was awesome, definitely call again next time we're on a road trip through Scotland, highly recommended

A group of 20 of us visited today after a long walk. We did warn the team that we were coming. But the staff were beyond brilliant in making us feel welcome. The food and drink kept coming for 3 hours....nothing seemed to phase them....such a lovely team. Cannot praise them highly enough 👍

Ths pub is in a lovely situation by a charming village green. It was rather dark and dingy where we, a group of 6 , were sat. The menu was pretty basic pub grub. The service was great and the food not outstanding but edible. Nice beer.A large metal wall hanging fell off the wall and banged me on the head. No apologies or discounts were offered.

Six of us met here to catch up with old times. The village green surroundings were attractive. The room we were in was rather dark and dingy. The table had been placed along a wall with a large decorative metal hoop (see photo) 2 inches behind my head. It fell off the wall and struck my head painfully , leaving a graze. Little concern was shown and no apology offered. The food was ok. Id Katsura chicken with home made chips. A butterflied breast deep fried in breadcrumbs, with curry sauce on top. Others reported their food was ok but not outstanding. The batter on a fried fish was alarmingly pale but the fish inside was cooked. The beer was good as was the ice cream for afters.

Literally just back from a Christmas dinner here and we are absolutely stuffed! The portions were huge to us and everything was piping hot. The beef and the tablet cheesecake definitely lived up to the hype🤤 I don’t typically eat mash either, but you’s may have turned me with that garlic mash. Wish I had been sooner, because I will definitely be back. 10/10

I was visiting my sister in the village and had a lovely cheese cake with a drink here. Great food. Surprised to see the amount of options that can be made vegan or gluten free. The staff were wonderful and the pub put on a free fire work display with free stovies (is that the correct spelling) It really does seem to be a meeting place for the community and an enjoyable experience. I had my dog with me and they welcomed dogs with open arms.. I wish london was a little more tolerant. Be sure to read what is written on the tip jar. That made me laugh out loud. I will be back.

Had lunch here today was it was by far the best meal I have had in a restaurant. Great choices available and great value for money .Will def be back again.if you do go.try the brown bread ice cream .First time i have tried it but won't be the last .it's situated in beutiful village .hidden gem as they would say .

Had a BLT with Salad and crisps was £8.00 the Sour dough bread was over cooked.

The Pitcairngreen Inn is a cosy restaurant that operates alongside a lively village pub. We went for dinner while staying at a nearby hotel, and would thoroughly recommend visiting. There were a good selection of specials on offer alongside the main menu of traditional pub favourites. The portion sizes were generous, and the food was delicious and keen to advertise its home-made credentials. It was also a pleasant surprise to receive the bill, as it was the cheapest main meal of our holiday, representing excellent value for money. Finally, as the sign outside proudly proclaims, they've been dog-friendly since 1788, which is surprisingly rare in this part of the world.

Fantastic food and lovely staff. We had the steak and steak & ale pie, both were beautifully cooked. We’d definitely recommend this place and definitely return again 😊

We went to the Pitcairngreen Inn for an evening meal on the recommendation of our AirBnB host and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were very friendly, the service was great, the food was excellent and the portions generous. We will definitely be back!

Lovely little traditional village pub, with good (non chain) pub grub, (dog) friendly. Katsu chicken chips and pit atoes were great.

Have never been in the Pitcairngreen Inn always wanted to try it not disappointed. Food was really good staff were helpful and atmosphere was good. Will definitely go back.

Pitcairngreen Inn is called Perthshire's hidden gem, on their website, and it really is. We had 6 different dishes, all homemade, all delicious. If you get the chance to eat there, take it - the food is amazing. Service is good too and the chef is very accommodating with dietary requirements. It's easy to get to and there is loads of parking space. Can't say enough good things about this place. I'm looking forward to going back.

This was a return visit, we’ve eaten here a few times in the past, we always thought it was a nice experience and good value. However this time it wasn’t up to standard, I had the rump steak, it was a bit tough and the chips were very limp, they looked and tasted greasy, not very appetising, My wife had the macaroni, she liked what she got, she might just make me come back and give it another go. However my disappointment was further compounded when I found out they no longer served Guinness, they have replaced it with London Stout, I tried it, it didn’t come remotely close as an alternative to Guinness, how could it, Guinness is a centuries old tried and tested stout that’s served successfully locally … and all over the world

We shared four crostini toasts between us. All excellent. Sourdough toast with mackerel pate, hummus and feta, Parma ham with garlic tomatoes, and hot creamy mushrooms. Decent pint to wash them down too

We visit here everytime we are in this area. Great atmosphere and very accommodating. Bring your dog. We are treated like locals. Highly recommended

Good food , went with my wife for a meal, well priced and nice staff.

We stopped there by chance, due to a road close, and we enjoyed the food and the happy atmosphere all around.

Food nothing special I had southern field chicken and my partner had steak pie which was watery and grizzly. The staff were friendly enough sadly wouldn’t rush back.

A great country pub, just how you want one to be. Good selection of draft beers, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and the food's not bad too! Please visit here instead of an awful Weatherking or Greenespoon chain...

This pub has the best pub fish and chips I’ve ever had. Freshly cooked and you can have either batter or breadcrumbs, amazing!

Delicious food in a quaint village setting. We were served quickly and spent Sunday afternoon in the dining area. We knew it was time to leave when having been there for lunch, customers starting arriving for dinner. Would certainly recommend.

Had lunch today, 4 adults, 4 kids, everyone had a fab pub lunch, food very good, kids menu and meals were fantastic, staff very nice indeed, overall, great value. At peak times you will probably need to book.

Been in a few times. Big fan. Food is good pub grub with a few extras, the mac and cheese and burgers are great, so is the Sunday roast . Bar is always worth grabbing a drink as locals friendly and the staff have good chat. Worth a drive or cycle out of Perth.

Heard it had new owners and went for lunch. Reasonably priced and good portions. Sits on corner overlooking the green. Lovely setting but inside and outside needs sprucing up a bit to make it perfect.

Read loads of great reviews so thought we'd give this place a visit. To say it didn't live up to the hype is an understatement! I have no idea how this place has such highly rated reviews? Food I had was terrible. I had the veggie burger of the day which was a spicy lentil burger. It was the driest burger I have ever had. No lettuce no tomatoes no sauce no toppings, nothing. It was just a dry bun with some dry gravel like lentils which looked like they had been smooshed together in a tray then cut out into a square shape. It resembled a slab of tablet. The 'salad' that came with it were some lettuce leaves with a dressing that looked a bit like cat sick if I'm honest. The chips were ok-ish but not very crisp. The decor and table settings are pretty worn and dated too. Doesn't look a very clean looking place really. We were also sat right next to the only other folk eating? I know the place isn't huge but there were other empty tables. Made our conversations difficult to hear and awkward. Only positive is the staff were lovely. So it's a real disappointment that the food and interior doesn't match how nice the staff are. Sorry Pitcairngreen Inn it was a huge swing and a miss for us. Won't be back unfortunately.

stopped off here with family on way home from Dundee its a typical kind of old fashioned village pub but have to say the food choice offered definitely wasn't whoever the chef is keep him ! Our food was amazing all home made none of the typical "pub grub" and massive portions even kids menu choice was brilliant staff were lovely and friendly we would definitely recommend a visit and will be back soon

When it comes to The Pitcairngreen Inn, it was a warm and convivial time with a great selection of music that just helped make the environment even more enjoyable. The food here is delicious and locally sourced, plus the prices are good for the sizes you get. Also it's good to note that the location provides a dog friendly environment, so it's great to wine and dine with your furry friends. The staff were more than friendly and accomadated my party for last minute changes, highly recommend this lovely pub for their food, drink and atmosphere.

Had a lovely afternoon sitting out in the beer garden with the sun beating down. Pitcairngreen is such a peaceful setting. Friendly staff, food was great and a good selection of beers. Popular with cyclists stopping in for refreshments

Fantastic service..... The food did not dissapoint.... Delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection 😋.... my sister and I decided to take a walk from Bertha park... Lovely walk approximately 20 mins to get there which was ideal .. We will be back

Village inn located just outside Perth with parking opposite. The building has an oldie world rustic style and whilst quaint there are parts in need of renovation. Upon entering it was straight into a teency ‘locals’ bar. Besieged by a dog (ok but we have a person with allergies). We had actually reserved a table so we were seated in a little room next door. It has a beautiful bay window and a fire (though it wasn’t on). Strangely we were seated right next to the only other people in there (within touching distance) when all the other tables were free?!?! Strange covid rule. The pleasant girl came over for our drink orders and when I mentioned cocktails she recommended a blue lagoon. I can indeed confirm it was delicious after trying it again. However they had no straws at all not a big deal but it is something they should have. Menu is a decent choice of meals for everyone with fun names. Also offering smaller portions. Dessert menu few choices too but nothing on the night that appealed to us. The food didn’t take long and arrived in generous proportions. Was hot & tasty. The empty plates sat on the table for ages without being removed. Overall this meal was incredible value for money. The food was good & generous portions. The service could have been better. I’d still probably give it a second visit.

Operated by a charming young couple this place has an energy and freshness about it. The décor is minimalist rustic yet it remains fresh and clean. I visited at lunchtime on a Tuesday and found several people already dining - so might be worth booking a table. The food was piping hot and freshly prepared. The steak pie gets a good write up - but it didn't quite do it for me - see what you think. I shall return.

Was in for dinner last night with my friend, and the food was fantastic. Can't wait too come back. I had a small steak pie and a side of onion rings, the onion rings were without a doubt the best thing. My friend went for breaded haddock and the portion size was great. Highly recommend a visit on a sunny day, nothing beats soaking up the sun here.

Lovely place, new discovery for us. Meals were fabulous, scampi, southern fried chicken and homecooked chips delicious! Only slight grumble is that inside table at window could be cleaner, as could container cutlery was in. Service was excellent as was food which more than made...

Lovely friendly pub with great food

Visited last night and found the food and service very good. Only complaint was the dining room wasn’t very warm and after our meal we made a quick exit as we were cold.

My husband, two miniature schnauzers and I recently stopped by this gorgeous little country pub after a day trip to Perth. We walked around the pretty village green in Pitcairngreen and spotted the pub. We did not have a booking but the friendly and welcoming...

Very different you can buy fresh smoked trout which was fantastic!!! Well worth a visit go and discover for yourself.

I love the Pitcairn Inn...The staff are excellent, really welcoming, friendly and they make the experience of visiting a pleasure... The bar is cosy, a real village pub and atmosphere, the lounge area is excellent but the restaurant.. wow.. keeping the village theme and atmosphere, with solid tables and chairs well spaced out in a thick walled cottage area..then the food!! Never a disappointment, from haggis nachos, brilliant steak and chicken dishes to puddings to die for....Keep room for cheesecake or brown bread ice cream...or combine both!! What a terrific place for food, drink, craic or just a quiet night this place delivers it all.....I'd say go there ..but I don't want it to get too busy!!!

Me and my partner came out on Saturday 19th and really enjoyed the food. The service was excellent and we got a nice table right beside the window which was lovely. Thank you again really enjoyed the afternoon

Omg the Christmas meal was amazing we had the 2 course no way could i have ate 3 so full up stater was amazing and the the turkey with all the trimmings bloody beautiful food is so good yum yum

Went with a group today, the service was excellent and both waiting staff cheerful and chatty. The flat iron steak was perfectly cooked and the guys having burgers were delighted and the fish and chips lovely. Sadly the curried cauliflower burger from the specials board...

Well my Son told me this pub did great food and he was not wrong . There were 6 adults and 2 weans around 2 so busy table . The lad who served us, not sure if the owner or just staff but his craic...

Had a great meal tonight, the Haggis and cheese Nacho starters were superb and the main meals we all had were excellent. Proper home cooked chips. To sum up.. great food, great beer, great service and dog friendly. Whats not to like.

We had a fantastic meal at the Pitcairngreen Inn today. Great food, great friendly and helpful staff also great value for money. My daughters burger was " the best I've ever tasted " she said. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back soon.

First visit in a few years as part of a cycle trip with friends. Great cosy inn in a beautiful location near the village green. Amazing food, great beer and cider selection. Staff kindly helped with a spanner for an emergency bike repair too!
