Have visited several times since this changed to King James Pub and on every occasion have enjoyed the food. Great Service. Prices are very competitive. Steak Pie a particular favourite. Only downside may be limited for food choices but does cater for vegetarian.

Two of us went out at ended up here as our last port of call. The bar staff were friendly, and thare was a nice ambieence to the place. Prices were reasonable, and the glasses clean. We stayed at the bar (my mate was in pool playing made and didn't want to sit down, but we could have done no problem.)By they time that we arrived here we were off of pints and decided to end the night with a couple of shorts. I was impressed with the fact that my tonic had stevia in it, the first pub that i have experienced this. If you don't know about the evils of Aspartame then read up on it and then avoid it. Well done the management!

Great wee bar on the way to the pre-season Warriors and Harlequins game. Friendly bar staff and good range of drinks. The multitude of screens are great but not too intrusive. The menu is basic but great portions and cooked well and presented pleasingly.£6.50 for scampi and chips was braw and must have been 12 scampi or more and yummy. Food qas served quickly despite being busy and the staff kept the smiles on.Definitely go back.

Great food at great price. Didn't expect pub food could be this good. Try it to believe. The steak pie was particular outstanding both in taste and presentation. There were other main course at below 6 Pounds that was great value. Well done!

Nice bar showing football matches with a good choice of draft beers. Took a Guinness extra cold. Definitely cheaper than Edinburgh. Nice people at the bar and a friendly atmosphere. Did not try the food but looks good. A lot of locals too.

We had intended to go to Greyfriars when in Perth but it was cliosed for a private function.Aagghh.Nevertheless, went along to Christies and had an excellent Pint of Inveralmond Real Ale. This, and a friendly smile from the two lassies behind the bar got the evening off to the best possible start. Good Pub.

This is the first time I've written a scathing review. We were staying a weekend at one of Errichel's self catering properties with our children and grandchildren. We were celebrating a 70th birthday and it was also Mothers Day, so the family were treating us to lunch. I have to be careful with what I eat, and was drawn to the avocado and feta dish on the menu. On ordering I had requested a slice of sourdough instead of granary, for digestive reasons, and for a poached egg instead of feta. Perfectly reasonable requests, and smashed avocado with a poached egg is a particular favourite of mine. It's simple food and I was looking forward to a light and pleasant lunch. Now, when someone is described as a chef patron, one images that they take pride in their work and are competent in offering guests an enjoyable and delicious experience. Errichel disproved that completely. The plate that was put in front of me was disgusting. A plate of food should first and foremost be well presented, make you savour the moment and entice you to enjoy it. This plate was none of those things. It was horrible. Had the family not been present it would have gone back to the kitchen, but I wasn't going to upset the young grandchildren. My husband , sitting next to me, quietly commented on it to me. I'd ordered the same dish a few months earlier at a birthday lunch somewhere else. It had looked amazing, and was so appetizing, beautifully presented perfection. But that was The Orange Tree. At Errichel, the chef patron had replaced the one slice of sourdough with two pre-sliced bits of supermarket bread randomly smeared with something red, and had laid thin slices of greeny grey sludgy stuff on them. I think it was avocado, though it wasn't that lovely vibrant green and certainly wasn't smashed , neither was it seasoned. There were two poached eggs, and a heap of sad, wilted rocket on the side. In fairness the poached eggs were fine and tasted good. I made an attempt to eat the tasteless grey avocado but I have never been so offended by a plate of food. It was vile. Why not make a fuss about it at the time? Our grandchildren are 3, 4 and 5 years old, they were having fun together and I wasn't about to spoil that for them or their parents. One positive thing was that their food was served first. However, one of the grown -ups meal failed to arrive with the others, so we had to ask for it. Disappointing. I'm left wondering why chef patron doesn't care about the impact his poor attitude has. Good, simple food, well prepared and presented is a delight for the customer, and should be a source of pride for the one doing it. Why do it otherwise?

Me and my partner were visiting the area from North Yorkshire for the week, we struggled to find some good local pubs which had a menu that popped out and that welcomed our furry friend! After discovering the Pitcairngreen inn, we were pleasantly surprised, upon first glance the pub looks a touch deserted from the exterior; but we put this down to the gloomy day and damp weather. After walking through the door we were greeted by a lovely young man who was more than happy to assist us and get us seated at a table and give us some time to review the food and drink choices. The food, what can I say other than superb! We were both flabbergasted as the quality of the food, we ordered the Nachos to share as a starter; accompanied with cheese and fried chicken, and what a treat, all homemade by the looks of things, the portion size was large but it was devoured nevertheless! To follow for main, we enjoyed a steak and ale pie and a Sirloin steak, cooked medium to rare. And I can comfortably say, it was cooked to perfection and accompanied by the best homemade Parmesan chips for the steak and homemade fries for the pie. To finish we devoured the homemade fudge sundae, topped with homemade ice cream and hand whipped cream! Perfect presentation! I finished off with a dark chocolate cheesecake accompanied again by their very own homemade vanilla ice cream! To top it all off, a very pleasant experience and service received from the staff on a whole. Special compliments to the young gentleman behind the bar whom served us this evening and the chef(s) who prepared such mouthwatering courses. Tim, Becki & Betty!
