Pisces Fish Chips Shop in Kingston upon Thames

Meant to be open until 10pm. I walked in at 9:15pm and they turned me away as had turned everything off and started cleaning down. This is the second time this has happened.

Something has changed in the last few weeks. This chips are harder and crispier , it’s just not the same. Please fix it! I am a long time customer and it would be disappointing to not have my chip shop anymore.

The best fish and chips in the area by a long way. Massive portions , cooked fresh on the spot . Not soggy , just beautifully cooked

Excellent gluten free haddock and chips, and regular cod and chips. Great service. Gluten free day is Thursday. Price was also fair.

Was parked up close by and all decided we were hungry. It was the closest eatery. What a stroke of good luck. Great food with a lunchtime special. We had fish and chips, chicken nuggets and sausage and chips. Was all delicious. Huge chips. Very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful!! Properly cooked fresh fish and chips , actual potatoes not frozen chips , great lunch meal at a good price too , the restaurant is spotlessly clean , staff polite and efficient , well trained with a smile. Highly recommend

I know that this restaurant has a good reputation for Fish, and they are happy to serve people who eat Chicken, Beef and Steak and kidney. My wife loves fish and I've been a vegetarian for decades so we can't go again, because my wife hates the sight of me just licking a gherkin or eating an onion ring as a main course. This place is unusual in that it's a licensed Fish shop - so how nice it would be if groups that might include people with allergies or different eating habits could all go there and have a good time together. But no, it's OK if you like Steak and Kidney but not if you like a Cheese and Onion Cornish pasty. I really don't like being discriminated against in this way! If their answer is "we're a fish and chip shop, so what do you expect?" , then my reply is "why do you sell Chicken and Steak and kidney and wine then?!" Sometimes I feel that we're going backwards not forwards.....sigh.

Seashore - the latest name for a fish & chip shop beside Surbiton station that seems to change its name every year. But the quality is good - excellent fish (I had cod, she went for plaice) even if the chips were a little tired and slightly anorexic rather than firm and plump. I suppose it was 9pm, and they close at 10pm. Maybe there hadn't been anyone in for a while, but it was slightly underwhelming on the chip front. However, a good squeeze of lemon slice is automatically added, and the service is friendly. You have to pay cash if your order is under a fiver.

So happy to have a local fish and chip shop that does Gluten free options ( on a Thursday only) The fish is perfect!

We love the gluten free Thursday - we get chips and fish all gluten free. The food is hot, crispy and delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient. Excellent service.

The best fish and chips in that area by far. They give you a lemon with the fish and their portion sizes are always fair for the price. Friendly staff and great selection. My go to takeaway!!

Always busy but always good. You can’t eat in at the moment because of Covid 19. Portions are always generous. Scampi is delicious 😋

MLW and I popped in for a quick fish and chips in the cafe bit at the back. Service was friendly and efficient and we ordered one hake and chips and one cod. When the meals came we both spoke immediately after our first bites to say how tasty and well cooked the fish was. We sampled each others and could appreciate the freshness and quality. The chips were great and MLW is a bit of a Mushy Peas aficianado and declared them as genuine. With a glass of wine and an apple juice we were complete. We left saying how great it had been and that we will be back

My 3 adult daughters and myself were really pleased with the fish and chips that we ate in Seashore restaurant last week. The cod was was tender, fresh and tasty and the batter light and crispy, also the chips were excellent. We received generous portions and it was so delicious we couldn’t leave any remains on the plate! My daughter and myself asked for gluten free which I believe is available on a Thursday and there was no difference in the batter, it was just as light and crispy as my other daughters’ meals - and the best we've tasted! The service was excellent and Saadet was so kind and helpful making our whole experience a very enjoyable one. We will definitely go back, it is such a warm and welcoming place to eat. 👏🏼👏🏼 Well done Seashore for going above and beyond and caring for your customers which is so rare nowadays. Thank you, we will certainly be back soon.

The food was ok but I have been put off returning as handed my food by the most miserable woman this evening! Must be a family run business as I doubt you could possibly employ someone with a face like that!

Really great fish and chip shop. You can take out but we opted to sit in. Lovely atmosphere and seating area. Everything was spotlessly clean.Staff were very friendly and welcoming.Fish was very well cooked and the lunch time special including brand and butter or mushy peas and a drink it a good offer.Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

Someone suggested I visit this place, as I was looking for a decent chippy. Whilst on the outside, it may look appealing (and the decor on the inside is ok too) I found this place quite a disappointment.It wasn’t just the miserable reception I received, (it makes a big difference when you feel that the person taking your order is pleasant, and appreciates your business - even if it’s just £8! But to be dealt with by someone you feel holds you in contempt, leaves a very unpleasant feeling) I was prepared to reserve judgement until I had eaten the food, as if it was exceptional or even good, I would have overlooked the fact that I was served by someone who clearly didn’t want to be there - his manner was not nice, but I have to say that the food was mediocre also.I asked for double-cooked chips, but that request was ignored, I asked how much more I would have to pay to get a smile.. but that request fell on deaf ears also. The cod was ok ~ I ate it all, but it’s disappointing to be served by someone who is unpleasant and dislikes people. The chippy in Thames Ditton is better in every sense. Give this one a miss.

Beware of opening times!I often visit this chip shop and cannot complain. Chips are fresh and it’s always busy!However I went tonight at 10pm and it was closed, this is despite the website and window saying 10:30! Very frustrating!What a waste of time!

Visited Seashore Fish Kitchen during a weekday lunch after being recommended by family friends. Mum opted for the small fish and chips lunch special which came with bread & butter and a cup of coffee. I opted for the king prawns. Their chips were very good. Very satisfied customers.

I've been a regular at this place since it was Pisces. I've always had fish and chips but I wanted something different today went for calamari. As they have good standard for their fish and chips I never thought it would be a disastrous choice. I couldn't be more wrong. It is clearly not made there, shop bought and deep fried at the shop. The dough was very heavy and the squid was really rubbery. If you like squid meat in doughnuts, try it!

There seems to be a lot of mixed reviews about this place. It nearly put me off going but in the end I am so glad I went there.

Es difícil encontrar un buen chippie en Londres. Nos pasó por éste y dejó en para el almuerzo. El pescado fresco es bien maltratada y. Las patatas fritas podrían ser un poco más crujiente y mullidas, pero sin duda volveremos de nuevo. Mejor que he tenido en la zona de Londres.

Hard to get decent fish and chips down here, but this is the best in the area. There are others around but this is the best locally. If you want better, I can recommend Whitby.

If you like fish and chips you'll like this place. Quick service. Table service or take out. Good prices. I will go back.

I was quite sad when I see old Pisces was not there anymore but I am really impressed with new look and the quality as good as before and seems busier.prices of fish slightly more expensive than before but still worth to goHighly recommended

Ido cuesta abajo desde remarcada como cocina pescado Seashore y redecoración interior. No se comer en el restaurante nuevo. Olor a aceite de cocina la espera por la comida desagradable. Patatas fritas pescado precioso, pero mediocre (cocinados en aceite rancio? ). El precio de una comida ha subido un 40% desde la última vez que visitamos, antes de la cambiará su nombre. La esencia de pescado y patatas fritas tradicionales es deliciosa comida en un interior a un precio razonable, no contradictorio comida en una reluciente interior a un precio gastro! No se puede engañar al cliente más de una vez.

El lugar es fantástico, ya que ha sido renovado y el servicio era bueno aunque algunos empleados han cambiado. La comida sin embargo ha ido cuesta abajo. Se ve desde mi anterior crítica que solía ser un gran fan de este lugar. Mis últimas dos visitas han sido horrible, aunque la primera de las cuales me pongo a ser un mal día. Sin embargo hace dos días decidimos probar de nuevo y el pescado era extremadamente grasosa especialmente las partes crujiente en los bordes de los peces.

My husband and I popped in for a fish supper and was not disappointed it was lovely, good food, freshly cooked by friendly staff.

All fish is cooked to order, with the crunchiest batter ever, and non greasy chips. It is always busy which tells you everything. Really nice friendly staff as well.

Pisces has had a refurb and is now called Seashore Fish Kitchen. It looks more modern and smarter but the food is still as good as ever. I believe the owner has changed as well.

Avoid when busy i.e. early evening.Over twenty minute wait (at 6.30pm) for takeaway order of battered sausage and chips (which were stale due to the wait for the sausage). These are easily remedied issues but staff appear oblivious.Definitely not the best fish and chip shop in London.

Really delicious authentic tasting true good old fish and chips to take away and enjoy at home - cod and chips freshly prepared - and children's portions too, plus curry sauce, sausage with or without batter, pickled gherkins. We took away wrapped two children's portions of fish and chips, one plain sausage plus one curry sauce plus one pickled gherkin - all enjoyed by our family at home, nice and hot and freshly prepared and tasting delicious.

Extremely crunchy cod batter. Not greasy chips. We feel blessed that this is our local fish and chip shop. Can be busy , but food is freshly cooked and worth the wait.

I would often stop here with a friend, on our way home from shopping In Surbiton high street. It's Fish (Cod) & Chips cost around £7:00, but the size of their Cod Is gigantic, & coated crispy & golden In their breadcrumbs. It even comes with a wedge of Lemon to squeeze over your fish.I've only ever sat In the once, as I find the portions smaller tbh.Being a big eater, I experience many local food outlets, & this restaurant I find Is the best by far, where the Cod & chips are concerned.

Crisp and fresh... That's how we like it! Never disappoint, frindely staff! The only problem is the smell inside, gets into you.

We had the cod and chips here at Pisces. We also added mushy peas and those were tasty too! One thing, if you like curry, was a green curry dipping sauce you can add for a pound I believe. That tasted great on the fish...and the chips...and alone!Our hotel was right across the street from this place and there was LOTS of take away orders going out of there daily so that's why we had to try it. We were not disappointed that we did! The waiter we had was attentive and polite. It took a little while for our order to come out but while the restaurant was not packed the take away like was! It was totally worth the wait!Go, eat, get the curry dip, enjoy!

Staying in Surbiton for Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, wanted a quick dinner so had take away fish and chips. Freshly cooked, great fish and chips, really friendly staff and very efficient.

I really do not understand what all the fuss is about regarding this fish and chip shop. We popped in on the way back from the airport, but quite frankly wished I haven't bothered. The batter was over fatty and the fish was dry. The chips were on the same par, and there was no card machine either ( which I find very odd).The service was also miserable.Considering there are so many different options in surbiton Surbiton, I think people should pull their socks up a bit, especially if they are requiring repeat business. Shall not be going back here again , waste of time and money!

We visited on a Friday night to people queuing outside. We wandered through the people waiting for takeaways and we were seated immediately. It's good old fish and chips at its best.

Fresh, delicious. Always good and I am fussy!Chips are proper thick chips. Batter on fish is crispy not stogey. Just typing this review gets me craving it again.

We have had fish and chips at Pisces on a number of occasions now and have been blown away with the consistently good service. The fish and chips are cooked to perfection and are some of the best that we have eaten. When we are in Lobdon, we try to visit Pisces at least once.

We loved eating at the Pisces Fish Kitchen. Both my husband and son are vegetarian (do not eat fish either) BUT since my husband is from England, they decided to eat fish and chips while we were on holiday last summer. We ate there at least 3 times. We would arrive back in Surbiton late from doing site seeing etc.. and we loved to stop there on the way back to our flat. My son loves their mushy peas too!

This was my first takeaway in Surbiton and it didn't disappoint. The portions are big, the fish freshly fried. There were 4 meals for £32 which is very good value for money considering the amount of food we had! Although the thing that impressed me most is they have fish which is coated in rice flour....as mydaughter is celiacs it's near impossible to find something on menus she can eat. The staff are really helpful and friendly. You can also eat in as there are tables and chairs. Only downside is that they don't accept cards, cash only. Will definitely eat here again!

I visited on Tuesday night and received a nice greeting from friendly staff. We both went for the cod and chips which arrived pretty quickly. The cod was a good size and the batter was nice and crispy and it tasted great. The chips were also nicely cooked and a good portion size. Mushy peas came in a small side dish as did some pickled onions and a dill pickle. All were thoroughly enjoyed. I'll happily return when next in the area.

A weekend for me normally starts with fish fingers chips and peas (and or beans) at a lunchtime on a Friday but for various reasons was unable to have my normal luncheon on this particular Friday. Discombobulation was understatement to how I felt come that particular evening so imagine the relief that came over me when taken to the Pisces Fish Kitchen! For me the experience was a culinary defibrilation! The chips were freshly cooked and crispy, the cod was meaty and totally boneless and the mushy peas very mushy and tasty! The only time I winced was when I was asked by the waitress whether I wanted the peas or an alternative - I mean - do I look like a man who is a mushy pea refuser??!! Service great - fast, efficient and friendly and the nice cup of tea to swill it all down with was first class too! Well done Pisces for leading the way for chippies in metroland!!

Quick, easy, good food with a wider variety on the menu than the traditional chippy. Only takes cash - so come prepared.

As a local I come here more regularly than I should for takeaway. My husband and I agree that you can't beat their fish and chips. Great quality and lovely friendly service.

Have frequented Pisces on numerous occasions for the past 7 years but found today's visit a disappointment. Whilst the food was up to the usual good standard the service certainly wasn't. The waitress that served me clearly had a selective attitude towards customers, when she serverd my order I had to wait 5 minutes for condiments maybe it's her idea of multitasking. Everyone else who dined was presented their bill but I wasn't so I proceeded to the counter to pay where the cashier was equally non attentive. Maybe it's because I'm not from Surbiton or not middle class enough to be treated with common courtesy? Who knows but I won't be frequenting Pisces again.

A real treat in the heart of SurbitonTake-away and sit down fish restaurant.Staff are friendly, the food is very well cooked and well presented The sit down area can get quite warm, probably due to the proximity of the deep fat fryers Roll and butter are worth a try. As long as they are the Portuguese variety !!

Firstly, I am from the North of England, I know about chippies. I dont eat in them that often but I know a good chip when I have one. The chips here are just lovely. Just typing about them makes me want them. Not a massive fish fan myself I get the kiddies portion which is under a fiver and is more than enough for me. But above all else, my favourite thing is chips and curry sauce. It is sublime (OK not world class food but still...) I defy anyone not to have it and not enjoy it. Service is not quick but then you wouldnt want to be eating food kept warm would you. Great value and you can even eat in!

I have been living in Surbiton for three years now, and one thing I will continue to miss about living in a East Anglia is our constant supply of good fish and chip shops. In London, where everything has been gentrified the local chippy seems to be a sacred spot for overpriced food! HOWEVER, I finally went to Pisces and what an overdue trip it was! Aside from there being a lovely atmosphere the staff were really friendly, I just ordered a portion of regular chips which were a good size and I was so surprised at how good value they were! My friends ordered fish and said it was really great also. I can't wait to visit again as it was such a lovely place! note: make sure you have cash on you as they don't have a card machine but there are plenty of cash points about. :-)

Discovered this lovely chippy last year after our local closed down. I have to say it has been the best find in a long while! Great quality food and even better service!!

A nice portion of cod and chips! Slightly expensive than a regular portion of fish and chips, but well worth it. I have visited the place a few times- I believe we could call it our 'local chippy' now!

We recently travelled all the way to Cornwall to eat at two of Rick Stiens fish restaurants, they were complete rubbish , we sat their and thought this is not a patch on Pisces in surbiton . Tonight we ate at Pisces and once again they did not dissapoint . The staff are so friendly , the fish is out of this world , fresh and light , cooked to perfection .

We may have missed the rush as it was a Thursday at 8. Well cooked and tasty fish and chips and unusual fishcake! The fishcake was more flaked fish than potato, but none the worse for that. Amazingly, there were mushy peas on offer...very unusual for down South ;-).We didn't use the restaurant so I can't comment on that side of the business. Looked very appealing.
