Nice fresh food. Served as quickly as possible. However, this sometimes can be over an hour waiting in the queue. I would highly recommend ordering in advance, but even then, you may have a small waiting time.

Lovely food and nice staff, price is fair too

Very disappointed. Have been going here for years, but wont be back. My daughter (16) asked for large chips, sausage and saveloy. Charged £12. I said it was expensive for what we asked for. Checked the meal, they had given 2 x Cod. Returned to explain and was met with stroppy, rude staff. They were adamant she had asked for Cod, she is 16, she knows what she asked for! Other 3 members of staff stared rudely with disgust at us. They did give us the money back, told us to keep the Cod as we had 'Opened' it. Got the food home, it was very dissapointing. Chips werent even a large portion and tasted like they had been in the fryer all day. Will not be returning!!!

We noticed the queue outside one evening, and thought "this must be good fish & chips" It is !Really nice haddock and chips, huge portions.Sensible prices, friendly staff.(Best to phone in your order in advance, as they get so busy, and you can "jump" the queue).

We have been going to the Pisces for many years now and the standard of food has never faltered - always fresh and seriously continues to be the best chippy we have ever been to...and we have been to a few in our time!! The queues say it all and always worth a short wait. Can't recommend highly enough.

One of the last places that when you order a large cod, it's actually bloody large. Good chips to, as well as chicken, sausage etc. We only order one portion of chips for three of us. It's enough.

Can't fault the quality of food and agree it is one of the best chippies around locally. However, I always judge a place on customer service too and I didn't find the service here too friendly. Counter staff not very welcoming and don't look like they want to be there. Probably won't be back for a while, but can fault the food.

Struggling to keep up with the new covid rules. I pre ordered food and when I arrived I was told to wait in a large queue, longer than the people ordering on the normal queue. If you are thinking about pre ordering, don't, complete waste of your time. I am now updating this review as I feel I was a little harsh with 1 star. Whilst I still think that they could do better with organising the pre ordered food, the food itself is really nice.

We live seconds from a Fish n Chickn takeway and since we have found Pisces they are a thing of the past, better quality chips, huge portion sizes, very good prices its unbeatable! Great work all and even during lockdown too! :)

We eat here all the time, it is our closest fish and chips option and we always come back for more. My parents have been eating here since they moved to Wickford in 1990 and it is always Dads Friday night treat dinner!The food is always fresh and hot, the portion sizes are generous and it is worth the price. Queues can be quite long as fish is cooked to order, and there is not much parking available outside the restaurant. If possible, walk.It is a local classic!

First fish and chip takeaway of lockdown, absolutely fantastic, batter lovely and crispy, chips were very nice, excellent system, order over phone, given a time to collect excellent service.

Always a popular fish bar , best taste and value for money I know in Essex would recommend to anybody that appreciates fresh well cooked fish and chips you can taste the passion for there food They no longer operate as a restaurant just a take away fish and chip type business used to offer Greek/ Cypriot menu in the restaurant but not been open for a long time now , shame l!

I been using Pisces for years now and I have been to some 5 star fish restaurants and they don't compare to Pisces the staff talk to every body as if they know them and they cook the fish while you wait I would recommend to any one who likes fish +chips

Customer Service is usually top notch with really good food, but my last few visits The service has not been as good and they get quite stressed out in there and friendliness just drops. Started going to another chip shop other end of town instead.

Fantastic fish n chips! Cooked to order and absolutely delicious. Batter was very light and crisp and not at all greasy and fish super tasty. Chips were gorgeous - crisp on the outside and floury and flavoursome on the inside! A well deserved 5 stars!

Have lived in Wickford for 36 years and have eaten Fish and Chips from here for 32 of those years and would not buy from anywhere else in Wickford!

Been going here for the last Nine years, the fish has always been very meaty,chunky and a great sized portion, sadly, over the last couple of months, I have noticed that the chips that were once large, chunky and a lovely golden brown have since become much smaller with sharper edges, almost splinters at times, I have no idea why this has changed, but we only buy the fish now, and do chunky ships at home. The portions were huge before, now, 75% are broken intact chips which do not resemble how they used to be. Staff are great, service is wonderful, a very cheerful environment, and well worth it for the Fish.

I have moved from Wickford but I still go back here for my fish and chips. The food is great and the portion size is generous . There is never a massive wait time despite always being busy. None of the local chippies compare!!

Yet again , the food portions are amazing , all cooked fresh , staff couldn't be more efficient , you will have a job finding a better fish shop which gives the size of portions and quality of food . This is the only place i will now go to .

Each time I’ve been here the food was cooked whilst I waited but it was worth it. Unlike other chippys the batter is not too fatty which I like. Well worth visiting
