The idea of outdoor dinning under canvass in what is still, a relatively uncertain time, is a blessing, and this open space is super! Part of the genius idea by Breaking Bread events company, we see a couple of really strong 'pop up' restaurants from Bristol's well loved Pony & Trap, Bianchis, Team Love, The Love Inn & Pipe & Slippers. As this is the last month for this excellent pop up, only HomeGrown and Pipe & Lovers remain, & for a per-Theatre treat, it was a good meal. Service is OK, very friendly, if a little slow. The menu is tight, but OK, with your standard, Burger & Chips, Fish & Chips, a veggi Burger, Curry and Sausage & Mash, nothing outstanding, but nothing bad, and it's clear all ingredients are of quality, & I imagine locally sourced. For a Pre Theatre dinner, this was a good option, good to experience, friendly staff and if on a warmer, sunnier day, I imagine, very popular. Well done on creating yet another brilliant Bristol Foodie destination.

We were really looking forward to seeing the jazz as Frank Sinatra fans, despite it being a Breaking Bread's horrible blot on Clifton Downs landscape. It was advertised as "Candlelight Jazz Open Air: Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin & More"..... It was, in fact, under cover, one Frank Sinatra song played, no Aretha and very niche covers. Band were good, Victoria Klewin as good as ever, however, I've seen her play free of charge. Appreciate the cost is to support musicians but this was not as advertised... Rules/regs were ridiculous... told to wear masks (understand individual venues have the right to do this) BUT not a single mask being worn inside as instructed. Highlight of the night... when the host sprinted across the front of the stage to stop the middle aged (and probably double jabbed) couple from dancing - at least 4 metres away from anyone else... moans and groans from the audience for this, over the top act! BB was a great idea during lockdown to help support local business but I think it's time the they all retuned to their usual haunts and Whiteladies Road venues get a look in now... sorry folks!

The waitress would not let me look at the menu at my leisure. You scan the QR code on your table to look at the menu. I don't have a smart phone so the waitress brought me the menu. She then stood there, pad and pencil poised. I asked her to give me a minute. She refused and continued to breathe down my neck. I explained to her politely again that I wanted some time to consider my choice. Again she refused to allow me this time. She then claimed she was helping me - when in fact quite the opposite was true. This constituted poor customer service. I had one drink and left.

Booked for 12 of us and they were more than happy to accommodate us. The food was amazing, the beer was good, the staff were friendly and quick to get our drinks out to us. Couldn't fault these guys at all. We all had an amazing time! Would 100% recommend 👌

This was such a great concept when it came out last year but really seems to have gone downhill. It was empty, cold and the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Everything was sticky and grubby. Our food was poor and we had an extremely long wait. The potions were small. It had a very thrown together look. Even the fries were nothing special. This was a great introduction to bristol but unless the standards are pulled back up to where they were when it started it will become more and more of a ghost town.

Decided to opt for soup and bread roll - on offer for £2. No wonder! The soup was so watery it was inedible. To make it worse, it was luke warm. Not the standard I would have expected. Very disappoint

Bought a "too good to go" advertised as £9 worth of food for £3. Didn't expect amazing quality, but got a scoop of chips and a single sausage. If that is worth £9, then I recommend going elsewhere
