Pintos in Carmarthenshire

My favorite place to stop for breakfast on a weekend, where I usually meet up with a friend. Absolutely excellent food and service! 🙂

Ordered the small breakfast s for 6 people. Service fast, food good, very friendly. Highly recommended.

This was me and my partners first visit to Pinto and it did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a full breakfast with fried egg and poached eggs on toast with veggie sausage, everything was very nice and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The cafe is very clean, spacious and comfortable and the toilets were the cleanest and well maintained that I've seen for a long time. We will be back for lunch next time.Thank you

Positioned next to a Texaco garage on the approach to Carmarthen. This place served us well en route to Swansea for an appointment. Several people were treating themselves to an all day breakfast. They looked good to be fair. We had jacket potatoes and sandwiches. Nothing fancy, just tasty and satisfying. The americano coffees were also decent. The place was decorated well and modern. Not a spec of dirt in sight. Unsure why we hadn’t used this place before.

We called into pintos cafe to take a break from the bank holiday traffic, the food was amazing, we ordered gourmet burger, scampi and chips jacket potatoe, kids hot dog and kids chicken nuggets, every meal was cooked perfectly,all came out at the same time and all we lovely and hot,we all really enjoyed!! Oh and the hot chocolate is the best!!! Thank you

Stopped for a quick bite of lunch. I had driven past on many occasions but this was the first time the timing was right for me to stop for a quick bite of lunch. Nothing fancy just ham egg and chips. Egg perfectley cooked but the most fantastic thing were the chips - quite the best that I can remember having in a long long time. Will definitely go again.

Paul and his wonderful staff serve the best all day breakfast ever. It never fails. Fresh, tasty and served to perfection, not just once or twice but every time. Can highly recommend 👍

I enjoy coming here fof the occasional brekky. Lovely breakfast, doesn't take long at all and the staff are always very friendly. Definitely one of my favourite places to go for a breakfast!

Located perfectly on the east bound A40 dual carriageway just outside Carmarthen, this little gem of a cafe serves awesome food. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the place is nice and clean, well worth a visit, the cooked breakfast was fab

Popped in for a bite to eat, my partner had full breakfast and I had am omelette, both meals were excellent. Good price too. Well recommended and look forward to calling again. Staff very friendly too.

This was not my first visit to pinto’s and it is a shame it might be my last. I recommended going to lunch there to day, I was saying how good the staff were and the food is pretty good to. Now we all get an off day, sadly it was my turn. I ordered the pulled pork pinnini, it came all fresh salad, few crisps and a mouth full of fat. Now I was not rude or shout out it was bad, as all food places can have a hick up, I just signed to the young lady that it was not nice. Then the owner came out pulling at the pinnini shouting it’s pulled pork it has fat , it’s from the fatty part of the meat, yes I know, but it was all fat sliding around my mouth. He was busting for an argument. Just want to let Him know, I felt Ill all afternoon because of it, but it was his attitude that has made me write this review. As all COOKS know, pulled pork has a lovely thick layer of fat around it, BUT you use the meat in serving not the fat, you may get a little fat but not so much you could gage on it. Hope this helps the owner future with his pulled pork and his attitude as it’s not always the food that grants a bad review.

Stopped for a breakfast on the go. Great food, hot fresh good quality good price. Highly recommended

This cafe is always spotlessly clean pleasant friendly staff & freshly decorated. Great breakfast choice and great lunches..Lovely rustic baguette loads if filling choices and very nice coffee (Lavazza).Easy to park..therea a shop and you can even have your car washed while you eat! Highly recommended.

Found this spot after some slightly inaccurate location data on Trip Advisor (have sent a location update). Cafe/Restaurant is very nice, bright and neatly laid out, seems to be a good spot for locals and thosepassing through. Parking is free and ample, plus there is a petrol station and car wash on the same tarmac area.Food was very nice! Tried one of their burgers and was quite satisfied! Price? Well yeah you cooould pay less but not a lot and certainly not as good. Certainly hits the mark for a classic highway diner without the service station cafe glumness on many motorways.Certainly will come back again, and also recommend this location to others!

This cafe in the grounds of the Tenby Rd Filling station caters for the travelling public and the lorry trade. Consequently it has a generous parking area. It appears to be quite new with a fresh decor and excellent clean toilets. The breakfast was lovely, well cooked and well presented with an option of a side of black pudding. To nit pick,after paying extra for the black pudding it was cut disappointingly thin. That said I would be very happy to return

Had the full breakfast. Not at all greasy, proper bloomer toast not that plastic stuff! And real butter. Tomato properly cooked and soft. Egg perfectly runny with no wobbly white. Staff cheerful and friendly. Loos clean. I highly recommend and will be returning :)

Our third visit to Pintos in the past few months..Each time the food has been excellent.My personal favourite is the Welsh breakfast .Is the best I have tasted,Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.As mentioned above excellent food and also service is great and staff are extremely polite and helpful.

Stopped for the first time at this cafe and I must say I will be going back we had 2breakfasts as we were going off for the day and it filled us up all day it was lovely not greasy at all clean plates from us no waste I had a quick look at the menu and it had a good variety of meals on it the coffee was good so good my husband had a second cup the prices was very reasonable if any truckers are reading this review it's well worth stopping also you can park your truck up for the night for £10.00 also has got hot showers

My mum took my daughter here a few weeks ago and my daughter (who’s 6) kept saying how much she loved the place and couldn’t wait to go back!! So today we went back! It didn’t disappoint! My husband had a lovely full cooked breakfast which he said was delicious and freshly cooked! I had a huge cheese and beans jacket potato which was fresh, hot and tasty! My daughter had a little breakfast too! The place is really clean, tidy and the staff very polite.We will definitely be coming back and will recommend it to anyone who is in the area! Thank you!

We regularly call at Pintos for breakfast/ brunch and at each visit however busy the food and service is always excellent. They use locally sourced produce and the bacon and sausages are of the highest quality. All the food is grilled and not fried. We have recommended Pintos to friends and colleagues who are now also regular customers. Always a warm welcome from Paul and his staff. Would recommend a visit you will not be disappointed.

What a brilliant place 4 of us went for breakfast food was brill service really good didn't have to wait long will go back again.

This is my second disappointment at Pintos! It used to be really good and a favourite with my father and me. Its easy disabled parking makes it one of the few places near Carmarthen which suits my father. However on our last 2 visits the food has not been up to scratch. Last time my saute potatoes with my breakfast were very greasy and I couldn't eat them. Today I had beans on toast and the beans were just warm. I didn't complain because I was in a hurry! On a more positive note - they make really good coffee.

Had a business breakfast here not too long ago and couldn’t fault it... small cafe, coffee was excellent and I had poached eggs on toast. Really good simple place.

We have been recommended Pintos on several occasions, so decided to give it a try. The service was exceptional and the owner was very welcoming. The food was very tasty and was served very quickly. I will definitely recommend to other to give it a try.

On our way home from our latest trip to Pembrokeshire we stopped at Pintos café just outside Carmarthen for a coffee and a bacon sarnie exellant food and very good coffee ,you can always tell when a café serves good food as the place was absolutely jam packed,would certainly visit here again

Stopped here on way to Carmarthen shopping. Been past many times wish stopped before. Great breakfast and lovely touch of saute potatoes as well. Good cuppa to go with it and very good service. Will be calling again really good place to stop.

Popped in here a few weeks ago for a breakfast and have been going back ever since. Really good quality food and cooked perfectly, we have had four lovely breakfasts here now. Staff are very nice and helpful too.

My partner and I popped in for a spot of Saturday morning breakfast. Disappointed from the outset as my partner doesn't drink tea or coffee and there was no alternative on offer as part of the breakfast deal. When it arrived the bacon was dried up and the whole meal was bland! Next time we will go to The Old Mill Cafe in Llanddowror where the food is always amazing.

I live very close to this lovely cafe, and always stop by for a fry up! My family also love it here, with my brother having a drink that isn't even on the menu! love it!!!!

We have often stopped at this cafe since it first opened, and have yet to be disappointed, friendly staff , fresh food - great saute potatoes , all in a fresh clean environment.

Now firstly I have to say I come to this cafe quiet regularly and this does make this review sound like a whinge about my latest visit, but it's not! The reason I am a regular visitor is because the food is generally very good at a reasonable price but I have noticed a trend and it will now influence my visits. When I started eating here it was a moderately busy cafe that was a bit of a hidden gem (Not so hidden as it's next to the Tenby road services on east bound carriageway of the A40 between St Clears and Carmarthen). As with all hidden gems it didn't stay that way for long. On busy days such as bank holiday weekends, this cafe is exceptionally busy and you will more than likely have to sit on the comfy sofa to wait for a table. This is where the problems start. When the cafe is this busy the service and quality drop. So to today and bank holiday and I should have known better. We managed to get a table straight away placed our order and sat down. Straight away we noticed the tables weren't being cleaned with customers sitting amongst the previous occupants detritus waiting for their own breakfast. When the breakfast arrived it was very greasy, the toast came with enough butter to cover one corner and we were shocked to be told we would have to pay for additional butter! Now I know a business needs to control costs but come on either give us enough butter or don't charge for extra! Some of the service staff were rude including the owners wife! (I believe she is his wife anyway) and didn't care when we raised our concerns. Don't get me wrong they weren't all that way the young girl with the pony tail and glasses that took our order was great but today it stopped there. We could hear shouting and arguing from the kitchen and staff coming out crying. It may have gone wrong today but there is no excuse to be treating your staff so that they come out crying!!Many people left with out even getting food and some groups half were getting food and the others forced to wait half an hour, it was appalling and completely unprofessional.I did notice today the male owner wasn't there so maybe that is the reason but after today's experience I won't be rushing back!!!!Come on get your act together and give us back the hidden gem that was Pintos!!

We had already eaten but we wanted coffee. Great service and great coffee! Menu looked good but didn't try it this time.

So I'm a vegetarian and my husband is a meat eater. We can never find somewhere that actually caters for my diet properly then we found this little diamond! Food was absolutely stunning I never eat as much as i did actually ate my full breakfast which is all cooked separately. There is a vegetarian cooking section and separate utensils for no risk of cross contamination. I had a decaf mocha which is in my opinion nicer than Costa and Starbucks. The owner was so friendly and welcoming along with the staff. I've also been informed he has a chip shop which also does the same with cooking for vegetarians. I can't wait to try the mushy pea fritters ❤ I would rate this place for all aspects e.g. Service, food and cleanliness an 11/10 I will definitely be visiting at least once a week! I recommend you do the same. You really don't want to miss out on this.

On our way home from our trip to fishguard we stopped just outside Carmarthen in Pintos café which is situated next door to a petrol station as you approach the town,could not fault the food ,service or cleanliness of this café we will stop here again on our next trip west

Have tried Pinto's full breakfast a couple of times. As others have said, service is great - quick and friendly. The breakfast, although coming with good bacon, sauté potatoes, a properly cooked egg etc., is let down by the sausage which I found inedible - very cheap, greasy and lacking in meat content! Left on the plate. Would prefer proper coffee also - instant has nothing to recommend it.

Pulled in here on the off-chance, great little place with good range of hot food: cooked breakfasts, pies, gormet burgers, fish & chips etc...clean, well organised, fast service and reasonably priced, very good quality food (delicious chunky, skin on fries, quality thick bacon, gammon....)which was of an exceptional standard for this sort of diner/cafe - I would visit again and agin...a real hotspot in a very handy location...

I'd heard a lot about Pinto's with very many people recommending it, I was peckish one day on my way to town and called in for a breakfast. Very very good, and far better quality than you'd get with a Toby carvery breakfast which I normally go.for. Lovely.

Increadable even the facility's are spotless nice big roomy tables good room temperature and increadable breakfast was not expecting that from a cafe nxt to a petrol station The nxt time I see the texaco petrol station I will be stopping for the breakfast tidy

Have stopped here many times when on journeys away with the wife. Clean Cafe with friendly staff. Good choice of food and great coffee. Could be the Best with a more meaty sausage.

Don't miss this restaurant . It is busy but you don't feel rushed. Great service with very friendly staff. Food was good ,presented well and enough to satisfy hunger. Great !

After arriving on the ferry from Rosslare into Fishguard, we were looking for a light lunch stop. This is the first café we came across on our way to the M4 that didn't involve crossing the road.What a delight it was. Friendly staff, immaculately clean and extensive menu. Fantastic toasted sandwiches.

We used to call into this restaurant quite often as it was on our journey into Carmarthen or pop in on way home as parking is easy. Food was always very good and plenty of it. Unfortunately the last two times standard has fallen. Not sure if there is a problem with the waiting staff. The last time we had my grandchildren with us and their portions were the same as my partners. It was all messed up. It really is a shame as they work hard at it and not easy with being out of town. Perhaps a bit more training needed for staff.

Excellent place to stop for a coffee break or a full meal which the Thai section of the menu is to die for all backed up by friendly efficient service.

Just had a full breakfast and I'd give it full marks it was quick no grease on the plate at all, the staff are very friendly the place is very clean and the toilets are immaculate value for money very very good.

People keep telling me how good this cafe was so yesterday was on way to Haverfordwest so had to do an u turn just passed pintos so I could see what people was on about My thoughts were service and food was excellent very clean caffe definitely worth a visit

I have stopped here a few times now for food, on my to or from Carmarthen, they have excellent friendly service! the menu is very good, plenty of choice for all and very well priced! Excellent home made food!

Stopped off here with family during our recent week in Wales.Wow this lace is amazing, it really does deserve to do really well, the staff were amazing and helpful and kind.We only had drinks but we looked at the menu and the cakes etc on show and both looked fantastic.I wish I could have tried something off the back page which is full of Thai dishes.If ever in the area again would not drive past and neither should you.

On our first visit to the Pinto Cafe we called in for an early morning breakfast and because the food was so good, we were back two days later for an evening meal.Situated adjacent to the Tenby Road Filling Station on the A40 heading East from St Clears to Carmarthen, the cafe has ample free parking so is an ideal place to break you journey before you reach the M4 especially if you have just come from the Irish Ferry Terminal.Newly opened, the cafe is run by Paul and his wife Wan who provide not only excellent quality food but also excellent customer care.Paul the owner is a vegetarian so any veggies are in for a treat as he takes a great pride in the preparation of his food and personally buys fresh vegetables and other produce from his local suppliers on a daily basis to ensure only the highest quality ingredients are used in their food.On our first visit we had the All Day Full Breakfast costing £5.75 and the Vegetarian Breakfast £5.20. Both meals came with Sauté Potatoes and included Tea or Coffee in with the price.When we returned two days later for an evening meal we opted for Vegetarian Thai food from the Asian Influence menu and had Pad Thai £7.50 and Pas See Ew which is Noodles Fried with Mixed Veg & Egg £7.50. Both these meals were freshly prepared and were a treat to the taste buds. 5 of us just had breakfast here, absolutely superb, nothing is to much trouble for the staff as we are getting on a bit and a bit slow well me anyway lol.lovely Welsh sausages and bacon butter is Welsh as well as I said absolutely superb.

Good variety of breakfast choices, very reasonably priced, plenty of parking, spotlessly clean and friendly staff. Also do food throughout the day, which I will try as the breakfast was very good.

This is a new cafe situated adjacent to the garage on the main A40 dual carriage way. If heading from Haverfordwest it is on the left shortly before Carmarthen. Have called in here twice for breakfast whilst travelling to work away. Both times their has been a warm friendly welcome with very efficient service. Caters for families, truckers, reps etcFairly good range and variety of food at very reasonable prices on offer including baguettes and noodle dishes. Children catered for.The excellent full breakfast consists of 1 egg, 2 good quality sausages, grilled tomato, baked beans, 2 rashers of lovely bacon (sliced by them) and a load of thinly cut fried potatoes, 2 slices of toast and a tea or all for £5.95 All cooked to absolute perfection both times. Staff were helpful and pleasant and seemed genuinely grateful for your custom.Top marks - I'll be back and next time I'll have to bring the wife, lol.
