Bristol Cathedral Pinkmans cafe Popped to the new Pinkmans cafe for lunch as wanted to see the changes from the old cafe. Didn't order anything as when we went in at around 12, none of the sandwiches, rolls, cakes etc were covered with anything, allowing flies to land (from the open door in the corridor outside the cafe), peoples germs (those queued up) and everything else to be able to land on them, hope it has improved when we return to take photos of the art installation again, or trading standards will NEED to be informed. Prices were astronomical too.

Go somewhere else….Such a shame went for a family breakfast…expensive pre cooked lukewarm warm dry breakfast, service was terrible only two staff on and food delivered to the table in dribs and drabs, 50 minutes later three members of the family still waiting for Egg on Toast! Note to management….great idea to order via an app but please make sure you have the staff and facilities to support it. Sadly put a downer on what was a great weekend in Bristol!

After previously going to marks in north street and the loaf in east street which are both fantastic bakeries snd wonderful places to grab a sourdough loaf and something to eat we decided to travel across Bristol to visit Pinkmans on Gloucester Road a pain in itself getting across the traffic from south Bristol Oh dear what a disappointment dirty floors we chose the window seat so we could people watch but looking down all the grout was very grotty and the window area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks Same with the floor area We ordered some sourdough toast and a croissant which I asked to be warmed up The croissant arrived ages later stone cold so once again asked for it to be warmed through eventually arriving warm but no serviette or knife The eventual saving grace of this visit was the arrival of my sourdough toast I have to say this was the best I’ve ever had (I make my own sourdough so I can fairly comment )superb light and fluffy in the middle beautiful thin crusty crust how it should be 10/10 to the baker who is making this we bought the last loaf available on the shelf and brought it home to enjoy This saved our review from being a 0 on the score Sadly the rest of the visit was just not worth the drive across Bristol so we won’t be making the trip again you need to get onto cleaning some of the areas meantime and pep up the service scruffy and inattentive service food and drink having to be reminded of simple requests is not good

I decided my first ever "Too Good To Go" order was going to be from the Old Market branch in Bristol. I paid my £4 and headed over to pick up. The lady was very pleasant as she handed over a mid size paper bag. I sat in my car to see what delightful treats this artisan bakery had in store for me. To my utter disappointment, the bag contained a stale doughnut and an even worse knackered looking flatbread, that looked like it had been trodden on. Apparently these two items were usually £12, which makes it worse somehow. I see their rating on the site has plunged to 3.5, which indicates that others have had the same experience. Maybe they need to rethink being part of such a noble cause, until they are at the very least, offering basic value for money.

Turkish eggs, what an amazing flavour and texture experience with the most delicately poached eggs I've ever tasted. The yogurt complimented the spice perfectly. The chef kindly provided me with an additional piece of toast to mop up all the juice left. I will definitely have this dish again.

Whiteladies Branch: Great location and promising menu. However, hygiene issues and poor service. Several tables had old plates stacked up for whole duration, despite plenty of new customers arriving. Cutlery was dirty. First cup was noted to be chipped (bacteria haven) and dirty. Replacement cup was dirtier, with lining of scum. Milk jug lip was filthy. Food arrived and for most part looked ok, however one dish ordered plain had sweet chili sauce on it. Additional bacon order was poor portion size and cremated. Upon deciding to request a refund, the manager got argumentative. They clearly don't understand a proper dishwasher with some of QC is needed. Poor attitude. That said, the new lad working was very pleasant but clearly still learning the ropes. We'll never go to any Pinkmans again.

Well this was very disappointing visit indeed! Comparing my first visits over the years was to the Pinkmans on top of Park St area (Bristol), which was cheerful, approachable, clean and inviting, along with fully stocked and well displayed... on visiting the one on Gloucester Rd was the total opposite. Knowing it is well known named place for its doughnuts, there wasn't one in sight that I could see and that was what I was looking forward to having! There was sadly no option of Milk.. full fat and that was it, when I asked for a medium skinny latte. Thought there would have been more options to be honest. Decided to have a biscoff cookie to go with my coffee and that was as if it had been sat in the chiller for umpteen days and was not fresh at all. Very disappointed and don't feel that another visit would make up for it sadly. Very run down in appearance... even staff! This was also a early morning visit where you would have thought fully stocked, fresh and inviting... the opposite. Disappointing indeed. This 2nd place is letting your name down comparing to your other venue!

Lovely cafe serving a range of sweet and savoury delights. The doughnuts were the best items we ordered, I loved the honeycomb flavour. So fluffy and stuffed generously with cream, but it wasn’t overly sweet which is perfect. The coffee was nice too, as was the coffee and walnut cake. The tuna focaccia tasted ok, but unfortunately was extremely dry and chewy making it hard to eat. The cafe was extremely busy when we went and staff seemed a little overwhelmed behind the counter. You are encouraged to order at the table via QR codes, after which service took a little while due to the number of people. This aside, I would still like to return again in the future to try some of their other doughnut flavours, as they alone deserve 5 stars!

The most amazing tasting and aesthetically pleasing doughnuts I've ever seen/ tasted. They're a little overpriced and I wouldn't have them regularly but, as a bonus treat once in a while, I highly recommend them. I always recommend getting them fresh from the store - occasionally you'll see them at little food market stalls and they're just not the same. They do a lot of savoury stuff, but their doughnuts is where the real treat is. They're not all nut-free, so definitely check any allergies before buying.

Food came and bread was a little hard and had a nice amount of avocado. With a dot of sweet chilli sauce. Not a high end meal by far and probable cost around £2 to prepare ( I know they have overheads etc and things are more expensive ow) but it was £25.90 a rip off and was told that they wouldn't take cash which I thought was illegal. Have come into Pinkmans several times now with my partner. Many of the staff (but not all) are incredibly unfriendly which puts a dampner on the whole experience. They seem grumpy with customers, and a couple of times mistakes have been made such as wrong food, charged twice etc. When we politely asked if this could be fixed they do not seem happy to do so. The bread and coffee is excellent, but the rest of the food is underwhelming and very expensive. I think they need to up their game, as there are many welcoming cafes in the vicinity which currently I would prefer to give my custom to.

A nice spot on Park Street for breakfast. It used to be a great place for meeting friends of an evening before all the CV lockdowns, as very few coffee shops around that area stay open after 5:30pm, so it’s a shame it shuts so early now (and we really miss their porridge, which was delicious!). The range of pastries and coffees are fab - their sour-doughnuts are famous and very tasty. I love their hot chocolate, which is super delicious and made from real chocolate, rather than powder. It’s a little on the pricey end of things, but worth a trip - be prepared to wait for a seat, as it’s almost always busy.

It is a nice bakery, and the staff are excellent, but there are two things which dropped the stars: 1) It is the most expensive bakery I have ever been to. I bought a small roll (like burger bun size), coffee and a drink and it was £15! I know cost of living blah blah, but this is getting ridiculous. 2) They've just reopened with this stupid new ordering system... Basically you walk in to the bakery and up to the counter to make your order, then you have to run upstairs to find a table number, then come back to pay...? Annoying and poorly thought out. At these price it should honestly be table service!

Been going there for approx five years, dropping in when in Bristol. Once gave it five stars. During Covid they used the pandemic to jump on the cashless bandwagon and I'd hoped they would eventually change their mind, which they did not. I went today and it's pretty horrid actually, looked a bit gloomy on the inside and not very inviting. Big sign inside the door telling people to go through a QR scan process to order anything, even a coffee. I asked verbally for a coffee at the counter and it seemed to cause chaos, the waitress was flummoxed. To cut a long story short I said "this is a lot more complicated than it used to be" and left. I went to Coffee One instead, not as posh or pretentious and the food is obviously not as good, but hey, cafes and eating out is about a human experience and not just a trough with some food being stuck on your table by someone that sees you as just another consumer unit. They take cash at Coffee One, the staff were all so enthusiastic and friendly I paid with a five pound note and left the change. Went home and Googled Pinkman's and wasn't surprised about the article in the Bristol news about hygiene issues at Pinkmans.

I had high expectations about this place but I should learn my lesson about expectations and the disappointment it can cause. I first came on a friday afternoon but was not appealed by any of the 4 flavours of sourdoughnut so I decided to come back the next morning to see if I would be luckier. I was not and I am surprised flavours do not change everyday. Would not that be a good idea to have a not changing core offer + 1 or 2 flavours changing everyday to enhance visit frequency? Also there is not "just a donut with sugar". I was hungry though so I chose to have one I could enjoy a little. The way to order does not make a lot of sense to me: when you eat in, you have to find a table and order from the website. It would be a good idea if: - when you sell pastries, you would not need to create craving thanks to a window display (which they have by the way) - the website allowed for special order (oat milk cappuccino for me) but it is not the case so I finally ordered from the counter... - the food and drinks were brought with all the neccessory accessories but no, you have to fetch cultlery, napkins, sugar and cream yourself. Don't get me wrong it is not a problem but I would say either you want customers to handle things on their own or you fully operate the service. This in-between was a little confusing to me. - tables were cleaned fast after people leave - drinks would not arrive in pack, thus not very hot.

We arrived at 4:20pm on Saturday to have a coffee and a piece of pastry (one of the best croissants in the UK) and enjoy it in the comfort of the tables offered by Pinkmans only to be told that even though the place closes in 40minutes the cleaning has already started and we can only take our coffees and pastries away! Literally lack of common sense🤦🏻♂️ If you’re open until 5pm having 4 ppl behind the counter serving and cleaning you should accommodate until 5pm We obviously took our business where it was welcomed (Browns which I strongly recommend). Unfortunately, organisation seems to be an ongoing problem. Called in for breakfast with friends today and service was total chaos. If five people order breakfast, it’s not unreasonable to expect that they want to eat it together rather than have it delivered in instalments over a 30 minute period. I really don’t want to sit looking at a croissant for 20 mins waiting for a coffee to arrive, it’d just be good to get them together. Very kind waitress cleared this up for us but offered to sit us somewhere else as we had a small puppy with us and we were concerned about glass shards (normally dogs may only sit at the front of the shop), however manager refused to allow us to sit at the rear when there were no more seats at the front. (There is no legal restrictions on dogs in cafes this is at the managers descretion). Zero flexibility. Apart from a very kind waitress the rest of the service was dreadful!

Food is delicious here, the chorizo shaksuka was mega tasty and super filling . Bread doesn't dissapoint! Espresso was decent as well! Only reason they loose a star as it is pretty pricey! I wanted a donought as they are obviously incredible but with breakfast and coffee would of been close to £20?! Saying this though I find there salad plates very reasonable. Would return :)

Large selection of cakes, breads and pastries - all very tasty. Would have been good if they all had labels on all of the cakes to avoid having to ask what everything is. Server a bit flustered and miserable, and took an age to get our coffee. Overall very good

Un pequeño restaurante de pizza encantador con un menú bueno pero simple. Una serie de opciones veganas también. El servicio era bueno y el lugar estaba impecable. Vale la pena visitarlo.

The pizzas are equally good, offering a wide variety of toppings with a crispy, flavorful base. Service was super quick and friendly, making it a convenient option for a casual meal.
