Pink Lettuce in Cheshire West and Chester

Excellent food. Great prosecco. Lovely staff. A gem!

Pink lettuce was fantastic. Food is excellently prepared and presented. Oh, and it's very different in a really good way. Pink is the general theme, throughout and to the food. However this is executed in a very elegant way. Pink lettuce is plant based so meat is not on the menu, although if you do eat meat you wouldn't miss it. Seating is comfortable in a french renaissance sort of style which compliments the quirky interior. Which is full of very strange paintings which have a Thomas Gainsborough type feel to them but the subject is hybrid human avian. Bathrooms are excellent. Access is on the upper level of the rows tucked in with the typical boutique shopping that one can expect here. Overall, if you like different good food which is plant based or wish to experience something so different from the mainstream i personally don't think you can go wrong here. A great refresher stop for some of the fine shopping in Chester, or indeed stop for something a little more important. :-)

We had the mushroom and wine soup, pastrami & greek style cheese toast, the pink lettuce special burgers, thai green curry, millionaire's chocolate caramel tart, and passion fruit & mango cheesecakes. Everything was tasty and well presented, with everybody in our party enjoying their food. It's great to see so many gluten-free options. Looking forward to a return visit.

can’t believe we waited so long to visit Pink Lettuce. It’s a really wonderful plant based restaurant and you can tell a lot of attention & consideration has gone into each dish. Had such a delicious meal, especially the chocolate tart. One of the best vegan desserts I’ve had! We will be visiting again very soon!

This review is long overdue. We’ve eaten at the Pink Lettuce maybe 2 or 3 times this year because it’s so good. The food is so good it has to be tried whether you’re vegan or not. So many things to choose but last meal the vegan calamari, tofu bites, vegan scampi are fantastic! My wife loves the Sunday roast, I’m a massive fan of the burgers - Chester is very lucky to have this vegan restaurant on the rows!

The most incredible experience this evening at Pink Lettuce. Cindy and her team welcomed us and fed us very well! Everything we ate was delicious and beautifully presented. Such brilliant flavours and imaginative dishes. We will definitely be back very soon. And best part of all it's all plant based ❤️

We ate there what was maybe one of the best burgers of our lives! The food tastes really good and will even satisfy the biggest meat lover, even tho everything here is plant-based. The staff is lovely as well and the place is charming.

My daughter and I loved this restaurant and the attention to detail. The presentation is gorgeous, the plating of the dishes is very thoughtful. The stir fry was very tasty (served on a golden pan) and my daughter loved the pink burger, Im sure everything on the menu is equally as good , we will definitely be back! 😊

We popped into The Pink Lettuce by chance and we were very glad we did. The food was delicious and tasty and the service excellent. Both my wife and I aren’t vegetarian or vegan but will be returning again for both food or drinks. Thanks and see you soon.

We were very disappointed with our experience here. The restaurant looks much nicer on the photos, it's fairly expensive but inside it feels a bit run down. There was a dimming light in the toilet and blue roll as a replacement for toilet roll. Old furniture was piled up by the toilet entrance. The food was good and they provided good options for children which is difficult to find however the service was dreadful. We waited a long time for my daughter's meal to arrive and ours didn't arrive for more than half an hour after hers, well over an hour from ordering. She had finished and was getting frustrated sitting waiting (she's only young). When questioned, we were told it was because they were busy the day before? The restaurant was very quiet at the time. No apology was offered (although some olives were plonked down without explanation). Then when our meal was finally brought out we were given one fork between two. When I asked for a second fork, the waitress pointed to my daughter's used one and said 'there's a fork'! I had to repeat that I would like a clean one. Honestly, we would never return, there are much better places.

We wanted to visit this place for a long time finally manage to come on Saturday and it didn't disappoint absolutely wow such a gem!!! Absolutely delicious food, superb service the staff was so attentive and friendly and venue very pretty! Thank you everyone and we all will be back soon!!!xx

The Sunday roast at Pink Lettuce was an outstanding experience. The food was exceptional, with the Passion Fruit & Mango Cheesecake being rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The service was excellent, and the restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere.

We had a lovely lunchtime meal for a birthday celebration. The food was great - I had hummus as a starter and it was possibly the best I’ve ever had. We were all very happy with our food choices - there is plenty of choice and lots of GF options (my partner is coeliac). Our server was super friendly and helpful. It was quiet when we went, but I expect there’s a nice atmosphere in the evening as it’s a lovely place. Would definitely go again 😊

Amazing little restaurant right near to here we were staying for a night! The fries were so yummy!! I ordered takeaway which was prepared quickly! The burger was cold by the time I got to eat it as we had an escape room planned! But it was still yummy!! And the cheesecake was great! The fruit was so sweet and fresh too! The person who put my food into the bag was lovely and put a drink it which was delicious!! And I was so glad the yummy mango sorbet was in a little container so it didn’t melt everywhere whilst I was in the escape room 😂 everything was delicious and I loved how the burger had a pink wrapper! I can’t recommend this place enough! I’m just sad there’s not one where I live!!! If I go to Chester again, il be coming back!!!

This place is one of the best i've ever been to and i'm not even vegan. Everything is absolutely delicious and the vibe is so romantic. If i lived closer i would come love to come back!

This is a truly wonderful restaurant, fully plant-based, the quality of the food, the ingredients and the care taken over its presentation is remarkable. Went there each day while staying in Chester as our hotel, the Chester Grosvenor, was sadly totally incapable of producing a plant-based meal. Chester is so lucky having such a high-quality restaurant which most people do not seem to be aware of. Been vegan for many years and this is, by far, the best plant-based restaurant we have ever experienced, a real hidden gem, the young lady that owns the restaurant is a passionate vegan and baker. The quality of the food served totally exceeds that of other restaurants in the town, at a very reasonable price, whether vegan or not, I guarantee you will be impressed. Could not resist taking home one of the largest home-made cakes which our entire family have been enjoying for the last few days. Sad that we don’t live in Chester! :)

Even though it was late for lunchtime this little restaurant was busy. To find somewhere in a city centre that's 100% plant based is amazing. I had the avocado toast and it was a delicious work of art. Beautiful on the slate tray and so tasty - different flavours,colours and textures. Definitely coming back again.

Hoo boy, what a wonderful restaurant. Everything sounded incredible but we settled on the avocado toast, salmon, fish and chips and the cheesecake for dessert. It was all beautifully presented and tasted delicious. They even have a kids menu and my two cleaned their plates. The staff were charming and attentive. They even have a delicious non alcoholic beer. Highly recommended, and if you are not already vegan, this would be a great introduction to food that is plant based and feels like nothing is missing.

Best vegetarian food ever - we had the pink and the black burger as well as the power Salad and the cheese cake. All the dishes were delicious. It is rate that the food looks even better in real life than on the photos. We wish we could eat there every day. Healthy, tasty and a delight also for non-Vegetarians!

This is our favourite restaurant in Chester, and our favourite vegan food. Everything is made fresh and homemade, all the staff are so friendly and welcoming and we always leave happy :) more people need to go!

Amazing! Absolutely everything was spot on. The service was great, the waitress serving us was very smiley and warm. The food was outstanding. The presentation and taste was beautiful. We had the wow platter and 4 small plates between 2 of us. Lovely big portions, we were absolutely stuffed but both had dessert which were Devine, we had the sticky toffee pudding amd cheesecake. Great that there's a children's menu with lots of choices too and nice big portions and the presentation again was beautiful. I can't recommend this place enough, it's the best vegan restaurant I've been to for the long time. For the quality I think the price is very reasonable also. Be great if the venue could be seen better from the street, it's alittle hidden away amd we did need to ask directions! Can't wait to visit again.

Stopped in mid-afternoon for a late lunch to celebrate an anniversary. We had the place to ourselves. We decided to have a selection of the small plates which was a great choice. The beer-battered green beans were excellent and the loaded fries were a generous portion and had a great flavour. We also had the asparagus and the salad with lemon dressing. The latter was particularly good, containing toasted pumpkin seeds which added a great flavour. The waitress was very friendly and did a great job with everything. We plan to return again and again.

This place is a confirmation that vegan and vege food can taste great. It you are in Chester you should visit thi splace for lunch or dinner.

Delicious tasting menu. Cannot fault this restaurant every time we go. Always quiet though! People need to come 😊. Atmosphere and setting is lovely too as are the staff.

One of the very best plant-based / vegan restaurants I have ever been to. The depth of taste in the dishes is amazing and the presentation lifts the meals to fine dining. Great wine selections, fantastic service and prices that are not silly makes this kne of our favourite places to eat. Highly recommended.

I organised a group of 13 to have dinner at Pink Lettuce. What a wonderful experience! Communication was excellent. She was accommodating to my requests and delivered what she said perfectly on the night. The food was delicious and really impressed my guests (none of whom are plant-based). Very nice, small place with a bit of an unfortunate location as I believe it deserves more apparent attention. Other than that, great food although they did not have pink buns in, but that’s okay it tasted great all the same. Delicious desert options! Lovely place and would absolutely go there again in the future.

Visited 7th October for our anniversary. There was a good variety of food and drinks available on the menu, and the presentation of the food itself was excellent. The meals were also tasty and filling. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We will return again for certain.

They kindly accepted me a few minutes before the lunch-time ended, and got to be seated all cosy near the window! The food is a delight to look at and to eat, I was absolutely amazed by this place and I am pretty sure it helped me fall in love with Chester even more. 💕 Got a Tofish&Chips and a Toffee cake, see for yourselves! We had a fantastic vegan dinner here - five stars all round! The food we had was delicious; the house pink burger, a half burrito and a sticky toffee pudding to share. We'll have to revisit Chester just for the food here! Highly recommended for everyone - not just vegans!

Pink lettuce is the perfect restaurant for any occasion It's the first sort of higher end vegan dining place I've ever been too, usually vegan junk food but this is absolutely next level. Every meal is absolutely amazing with such care and thought going into every dish you can tell that there's so much passion in this food. To start I had some small plates: The potato slices were absolutely next level, freshly made and were between a crisp and a potato adding crunch and a lovely softness. I also had the sticky tofu bites which were so well seasoned you had waves of different flavours hit you between each bite. For the main I had to try the famous pink burger which was phenomenal. The buns are freshly made and the burgers use pea protein which is a nice change from the normal way vegan burgers are made. They're saved with bacon cheese and a mixture of sauces that all blend together so well it was gone in minutes! It's served with chips and salad with pesto which I also took from everyone else's plate it was so nice Finally we had dessert where I had the sticky toffe pudding, I've never had one like it. Not too sweet and it's perfectly complimented by the ice cream. I also had the cheesecake last time which is such an interesting experience it's not like anything ive tried before and definitely worth a go. Have both it'll be worth it! One more thing the owner is absolutely lovely and deserves so much support and I'm glad to see they're doing so well. The last time we came in was nearly 9 months ago but she remembered us down to our starters and how we liked our coffee orders. An amazing woman!

We had the most amazing meal at the Pink Lettuce. The flavours and presentation of the food were absolutely fantastic. There is a huge choice on the menu, so much so it was hard to decide. We went for the tapas and loved every dish. There is a wonderful atmosphere too and the host was very friendly. We will be back for sure and would highly recommend.

Hands down the best vegan restaurant iv ever been too! The staff are amazing, and the food is unreal! The location and atmosphere is very nice (perfect for dates). The pink burger is full of flavour and bread is soo soft! Highly recommended

Visited about 1 mth ago, forgot to review but can't wait to return. Lovely atmosphere on a Friday early eve. Welcoming to me and 2 dogs( one in a pushchair!) The food was even better than I had imagined. If I lived nearer I'd been in weekly ( or daily!)

I’ve visited twice now with different groups of vegan/non-vegan people and everyone has loved their food. Although there are lots of options from small plates, the Sunday roast and main a la carte , we’ve tried a variety of different dishes and they were all really impressive and delicious. You won’t be disappointed!

Simply sensational. Sublime food, served by a really lovely bloke (didn't get his name. Dark, long hair). Outstanding. We had the tasting platter, and I'd recommend it to anyone. This is a definite top place, and somewhat hidden gem of Chester.

So good! The vegan cheese platter, salmon, sweet potato boats and sticky toffee pudding are incredible.

We just had drinks today. It was our first visit. The tea and coffee were well presented and tasted above average. The staff were welcoming, friendly, it was lovely to meet them. Hoping to go back and eat there soon.

The Pink Lettuce was absolutely out of this world. The food was gorgeous. We thought with it being Chester that we would get small portions but we didn't. Although the food isn't cheap it is worth every penny. We even took our meat loving brother-in-law and my mums partner who is also a huge meat lover and both of them were blown away. It was my mums 80th and they put a banner on the table and a sparkler and candles in her dessert. Definitely be going back soon. Its even dog friendly. Just exceptional. A vegan heaven 😍

Had the absolute pleasure of dining out at @pink_lettuce_chester and thoroughly enjoyed everything! The food was next level. Ordered tofu fish & chips, tofu salmon dill & potatoes with a grilled veg platter, then a choc brownie dessert. I asked for salt before trying any & soon realised the food didn’t need any extra condiments, it was all seasoned to perfection… even the side garnishes had fresh basil pesto drizled on the. This vegan fine dining at its best! Highly recommend a visit here if you are in Chester. 6/5 Stars 🌟

I’ve been to a fair few plant based only places now and this is, by far, one of the best! A lovely atmosphere, great decor and super friendly hosts. The menu is just fantastic - compliments to the chef!! We will be back for absolute definite.

Really delicious food, very nice staff, a relaxed atmosphere & a really unrushed pace. They serve gluten free meals off the menu but the owner said they can make other meals gluten-free if you book in advance. Will definitely return & the owner & restaurant really deserves to do well.
