Great breakfast and lunch menu. Lovely atmosphere at the back of the bakery, the selection of fresh artisan breads looked delicious. Went for a sandwich and side salad, very wholesome and tasty. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great location, definitely will call again.

We were pleasantly surprised to see such a long queue in the morning! It was at 9:45am, and this bakery was bustling with life. The baked goods were delicious. The cheese pastries (can’t remember the name, something like a cheesecake?), cinnamon buns, and the coffees were splendid. This was our first time visiting in the morning, and it was lovely to see the variety of baked goods available. The smell was heavenly.

Each bite was perfection!! I am a lover of almond croissants and sourdough. Pink lane bakery has master both of them. We visited the gosforth site ( couldn’t find on here) for our bread & morning pastry’s. The almond croissant was fresh, fluffy & fantastic. Full of flavour and the right amount of almond filling. The sourdough was perfect. My gut thanks me for providing it with some fresh active bacteria.

Having had numerious recommendations to visit jesmond, I did so today. Staff very welcoming 😃 I purchased a 50/50 Sour Dough & Rye (Very Delicious) also purchased a 100% Rye very disappointed, still very wet inside unfortunately it got fed to the birds as couldn’t eat it toasted or untoasted 👎☹️ Lemon Meringue Pie was very tasty also. Also purchased a Garlic Chicken sandwich from the fridge again very nice. Hopefully next time the baker will use less water, allow more time to proof and enjoy an even heat in the oven,

I came into this bakery during mid-afternoon when it was very quiet looking for something to eat for breakfast the following morning. The proprietor was very friendly and made some small talk which put me at ease. I ordered 2 pretzels and a choc-au-pain which were delicious to eat. The prices weren't too bad either. I love this bakery and I'll return here when I'm next in Newcastle.

We popped in for a coffee and sweet treat after an active morning and the place still had a nice buzz to it. Clearly it had been popular as a few of the items were sold out but I managed to have a lovely slice of carrot cake with my flat white. It was a great portion size for the price. The building itself isn't the most cosy, but it's good for a group visit and quick service.

Have walked past here a number of times but came for lunch and wasn’t disappointed. It’s not large so you might have to wait a little while for a table but it was absolutely packed which is a great sign. Amazing sandwiches for lunch that were toasted on their own sourdough and came with a small little potato and salad, which was delicious, the staff are working really hard but obviously very very busy so had to ask a couple of times for some water cutlery but that wasn’t their fault. Great sausage rolls too in a shortcrust pastry

Frequently see staff handling money and using the till's touch screen, then physically picking up the bread chosen by customers with their non-gloved hands. This is very unhygienic and will likely spread faecal and other organisms onto food then being consumed. Very frustrating!

Visited morning of 21 October to Gosforth Bakery. Members of staff were having a good time, singing, dancing chatting amongst themselves - which in itself is no bad thing. However it meant the one person on the till / serving (everyone else was baking) clearly wasn’t listening to my order. Returned home to find that, yes indeed - it was completely wrong. Disappointing for a business that usually does so well on customer service - perhaps just some staff training needed on the importance of customers and what happens if they lose faith in a business…. … hopefully the long queue of customers behind me had a better experience today.

I am so hugely impressed with the Pink Lane Cafe in Jesmond. The coffee is excellent and fresh and made with care and barista trained - great tasting coffee is hugely important and is so much better coffee than what is served up with any of the big chain. And this makes the Pink Lane Cafe stand out. Not just the coffee stands out though folks. All the patisseries are freshly baked and seriously delicious. The croissants are gorgeous and the best I’ve tasted. I had them every day for breakfast. I’ve also bought many of their amazing other patisseries too. There is lots of choice as well. You can sit in and order food, or take away. As a family we have done both. And there is more… the difference that makes all the difference in my opinion are the friendliest and most engaging staff in any cafe I’ve visited - and I visit a lot. All the staff are interested in you and take time to engage with you if that is what you like. To me this makes me happy to be recognised, acknowledged and to have a real authentic conversation with great people makes my day and the guys at the Pink Lane Cafe in Jesmond do this with aplomb. Keep going - the Pink Lane Cafe in Jesmond rocks. Visit it. Andrew Jenkins

What a fantastic place ! Staff were friendly and very helpful as we needed to check out a rapeseed oil allergy before we could order. Delicious BLTs and a bacon sandwich served in a funky and colourful cafe area. The breads and range of breads are excellent. Best pastel di nata and almond croissants I've ever had. One almond croissant lasted me all the way to London on the train - it was a very generous size and didn't stint on the almonds. I wish I lived nearer to Jesmond!

A very rude and unprofessional experience. I'm a regular customer. Live locally and go several times a week to their Jesmond shop. Their member of staff sold me two foccacias and took payment. She was then very rudely humiliated by the female owner/manager and it honestly never looked professional. Insisted I was then refunded as she was unable to sell me one foccacia which was set aside for the sandwiches, apparently. I was also spoken to in a condescending way. I sense an element of arrogance now that Pink lane bakery has the reputation it does. Well as a regular customer, I've changed my view and will no longer be visiting. Absolutely disgusted what I experienced. Would have been easier to just sell me the foccacia to be honest and let her know politely after that future sales of those set aside should be avoided. I'm quite taken aback by this encounter.

The one star is purely for Phil who was absolutely lovely and a pleasure to be served by. It’s a shame the same can’t be said for the rest of the experience at the cafe in Jesmond. £11.50 for a pasty and coffee after being advertised as just under £4 for the pasty. You are not told that when you sit in the prices vary and you are served a side dish of salad that increased the price drastically. That aside, I paid for it as I understand prices are sometimes higher when sat in. After being asked why we didn’t eat the salad I simply explained I did not order it nor did I really want it. The waiter then went to speak with the manager on his own accord who then shouted across the cafe ‘no they can pay for it’ (it was already paid for). The waiter Phil was being very attentive and I believe the manager can learn a lot from his great customer service skills. The manger then proceeded to lie to us after we stated we wanted to speak with her after what we heard her shout. She then passed the blame onto an employee and took no responsibility and said she sent her home, we later walked past and seen she was still there. After an offer of some pastries (which we declined) and saying she would refund us came back a few minutes later with a pastry and a £5 voucher, despite saying we would not feel comfortable going back. Will not be returning

I visit regularly with family and the food is consistently amazing. The shelves are always well stocked with sausage rolls, croissants, sourdough loaves, brownies, and many other sweets and savouries along with some local products such as milk and cheese. There is one problem we always have when visiting Pink Lane Bakery though, and that is the constant queues where you are standing outside, usually in the cold, for a very long time. I would recommend that a large overhang or tent should be installed around that area to make the experience better and more enjoyable.

Had high hopes for brunch at Eve but was a bit disappointed. We were seated straight away by a friendly young man. Probably sat for about 15-20 minutes without anyone approaching us for our order. I managed to get the hosts attention and he took the order for us. Seemed like there was a lot of staff but most of them lingered round the bar area. Saying that, their uniforms were odd, some were dressed in jeans/tshirts/aprons but none of them co ordinated so not always easy to identify who worked there and who didn’t. Pancakes were £11, were quite a small portion so not enough to fill you up. The live music was good but I’m not really sure it suited the vibe.
