Had the chicken pie but it had several sharp bones and made with leg meat rather than breast. I didn’t eat it all but mentioned it when the staff cleared the table. They didn’t check if everything was ok. I raised this when paying but was told no one else had complained, and seemed to suggest that I was making it up. Unfriendly and unhelpful. Charged me full price. Have been there several times but won’t be back. Poor service and poor food.

Lovely pretty garden. Peaceful setting. Cute little chickens running around and a sweet play area for children. Delicious Sunday lunch.Reasonable prices. Would highly recommend. I'll be back!

On a very hot day we called into this pub for a drink. The staff were very welcoming. They finished serving lunch after 3pm but the menu looked very tempting.

Attended the Pink & Lily with a group of 30+ for Dinner. We had a comfortable private space, delicious food and great portion sizes! A warm pub with history, hospitality and a lovely team. Thanks Shirley!

Pink Lane and Lily Bottom meet at this pub, where two fires gave welcome warmth. We ate in a bright sunny conservatory but enjoyed ordering drinks in the darker atmosphere of the old bar area. Food was brilliant due we heard to a good French chef. I enjoyed pork belly with leeks and the sea bass with a samphire tempura was also rated by those who ordered it.

Came here for Sunday lunch with family. Two of the party had roast beef which was average and I had the fish & chips which I thought was very disappointing. Very over-priced for the quality of food. The pub was not that busy but we felt very rushed, the waiting staff wanting to clear our plates while we were still eating. There are many other much better pubs around and I would definitely not return or recommend.

17 of my family and a dog arrived for lunch. We were welcomed and looked after well. Our food was piping hot and everyone was very happy with their food. The food was definitely above your average pub grub.

Amazing food as usual ! Presentation is first class and it's beyond pub grub The only thing that put us off was a large dog in the pub area with a bone .....growling at the owner when he continually kept taking it from him !

We went here for Christmas day lunch and whilst the food was good it was way overpriced. Our food was good and tasty but the portions, particularly the main course, were massive and the desserts were pretty big too. However for £95 per person the service left a lot to be desired, particularly trying to order a bottle of wine when I was made to feel a nuisance rather than a customer, and the lack of decent coffee, only instant was available, and the lack of mince pies as per the menu means this is way overpriced for what they offered. We did enjoy the food but for this price the service needs to go up by several notches.

Thought we try somewhere new and find a nice local pub that serves food . This wasn’t it . On stepping into the bar , no smile or welcome from landlady that looked like she was having a bad day. Sat by comfy fire only to be told 10 min later that seats were booked. No signs up or anything -ok no problem . Then ushered to what I’d describe as a seat where you’re waiting for a haircut set in the 70s.. Still no smile from bar staff or landlady. One customer was complaining about being served Alcoholic Peroni instead of non alcoholic. Overheard the landlady say this was not the first time this has happened.. Nice enough looking pub but not the right place if you just want a quiet drink. We won’t be back .

We were seven for lunch at 12.30 and after a relaxed pint sitting in cosy chairs and sofas near the bar we squeezed into a very small and narrow table in the Brook Bar. A good choice of starters saw only a couple of friends choosing the same thing, everything was well presented, hot and flavourful. Service was not quick and one chap had to leave by 2pm, we asked for his main course to be served ahead of the rest of us, by now it was 1.40pm. Lovely mains courses, chicken pie crust crisp, no soggy bottoms, delicious pan fried fish!! We were all too full for dessert. Finished with coffee all round and the bill followed. Sadly they had missed out a bottle of wine, we asked for a corrected bill and this saw us each pay £45. Great front of house staff, a good chef, cheery surroundings, a good local for locals far and wide! Thanks

Really looking forward to a relaxed Sunday afternoon roast dinner. First impressions not a firm welcome but lovely dining area. We weren’t even seated and asked what we wanted to drink. After choosing from the menu our food arrived within minutes no time to enjoy our drinks and relax. Our waitress referring to me as “love’. The food was good but the whole experience has left me disappointed and with indegestion!

Have visited this place very many times But have only been disappointed to find it is now closed on Mondays as it had previously been a great watering hole after walking or mushrooming in the local woodlands But open the rest of the week. Great place to take family or friends for a meal.or a drink as well as a welcome halt when walking the dogs.

Came here with family to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary, and the Pink and Lily did us proud, superb and tasty buffet with plenty of imaginative recipes. Great service and table layout. We used the wall TV to show home movies of our original wedding. The evening couldn't have been better! Thanks Shirley & Co.

The roast dinner at the Pink and Lily is excellent. The pork was perfectly cooked as were the roast potatoes. The little extra's including the red cabbage, and sausage meat were a great addition. The enormous Yorkshire pudding covered an abundance of flavorsome gravy and tangy apple sauce. The open log fire set the ambience perfectly. It is a shame we do not live closer.

Great location and gorgeous garden, let down by poor service and a terrible attitude to vegetarianism! Having booked a table outside in the marquee suitable for the children, upon arrival we were told they weren’t serving in the garden and we had a table inside. This wasn’t ideal we’d promised the children they could see the chickens and play in the play area and suddenly this wasn’t possible (to be fair to them the weather was a little grey and damp, but we’re not made of sugar and feel it should have been our choice in the current climate) Then to the menu, 1 adult vegetarian option, unfortunately risotto and the vegetarian in question has a rice allergy, and no vegetarian children’s option at all. Prawn tagliatelle couldn’t be made without prawns (so clearly isn’t fresh) and despite garlic bread appearing on the menu it wasn’t available upon polite request as a side for a vegetarian 3 year old with very few other options. Vegetarian starters were offered but with only bruschetta or soup to then have with chips or mash it wasn’t exactly inspiring. They couldn’t even offer a veggie Sunday lunch - they’d only have had to offer extra veggies and a vegetarian gravy but even that was too much effort. To be fair we’ve no idea if the chef agreed with this, or the sullen teenager serving us was the issue; when asked to check with the chef she refused! I’d say if you have any dietary requirements I’d avoid like the plague as they don’t seem to be able to accommodate the simplest of requests! If you just want a drink in a lovely pub garden - go for it the kids will love the play area and the chickens!

Server who welcomed us had a built in bad attitude from the outset. Manager says they are sometimes seen that way but didn't suggest that would ever change. The food was fab and everyone else is great but if you are unlucky to have this person be your server any request will seem to be troublesome. She was that bad that even the most passive of our group noted it. There are plenty of great places around here so no need or desire to visit again.

We have been to the Pink and Lily 3 times over the past few weeks and have been extremely impressed with the quality of cooking. My husband enjoyed his chicken pie and the lamb dish was extremely good. The service is friendly and attentive, a new favourite for myself and my family.

First time eating out with my parents post covid and we were celebrating a new job so it was a big occasion for us. When my parents arrived it wasn't a friendly welcome, the waitress was weird and evasive. Not knowing this (later arrival), I ordered roast dinner without Yorkshire as I can't eat wheat. Waitress said "riiiiiiiight..." with the tone of a frustrated parent! I replied, "oh, is that going to be a problem?" She said, "it might be, I don't know what's in a roast dinner, I don't work on Sundays" (today was sunday). It was not just what she said it was the tone. Hard to describe on here but it was full of attitude, we were all totally shocked. When we spoke to the manager, she said "oh yes, I get that a lot, she doesn't mean it" Whaa? She sould not be in a customer-facing role then. I can only assume she is a relative and that is why she keeps the job. What a shame, as the food was incredibly tasty. Roast pork melt in the mouth and poached eggs oozing yolk. The other members of staff were lovely. Would have a 5* if it wasn't for that. Madness to keep her on if she keeps talking to customers like that. My parents spent almost £200 this time and we are local, but we won't be returning customers I'm afraid.

Was honestly amazing. Couldn’t of asked for better service, surroundings, atmosphere and especially food!! This pub was the best and me and my family really enjoyed it. It was a cold winters evening in December and my friend and I ventured out with view to finding a pub in the Princes Risborough area. In Google search we literally entered local pub and this pub came up. It was my first time here. I found it very welcoming. Staff were extremely friendly and having fun with some Christmas spirit. It was not particularly busy which for a Saturday night was unusual as I understand it. We met seemingly the owner/manager and she was equally delightful. The place was immaculately clean, including the gents bathroom but the tiles made my eyes dazzle it was really weird. Alas, I opted for soup and my friend for a home-made pie. We were both very impressed with the quality and we understand the chef is from France. Well the macaroons were as if I was in Paris itself. It was very nice of them to give this plus some small mince pies complimentary. I must also complement the establishment on their one-way system and working to Covid regulations. Basically I would happily return here as I found the interior stylish cosy and I will repeat the words, overall welcoming.

The meal was nice. One of the bar tenders/waitresses was incredibly rude. We all left feeling like we would not go back because of the way we were spoken to. Shame really.

Great lunch today at Pink & Lily - have eaten in a lot of gastropubs over the years and this was definitely amongst the best.I had ham-hock croquettes which were delicious, and my friend and I both had the belly pork which was super tasty and well presented.Staff very friendly, would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely lunch today but I was disappointed by the lack of vegi choices. The only 'choice ' being the all time vegi cop out,the omnipresent, risotto. You obviously have a talented chef there so come on,use your imagination. A quick search of the internet will give you lots of ideas.

Dinner here on Saturday evening, four of us had three courses each. Food was hot, tasty and beautifully presented. Home made desserts to die for. The chef is a credit to this lovely country pub.

Menu goes beyond pub grub: had the crispy soft boiled egg for Starter and the Schnitzel for Main. Mrs G had the crab and the fish - both excellent and served with a smile.Above all, it’s a lovely pub in a lovely setting and a really friendly welcome, and it is clean, tidy and has lovely interior decor. A friend and I visited this lovely pub for lunch today and had a wonderful experience. The garden has plenty of space in pretty surroundings and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! We would definitely recommend and not hesitate to return.

We attempted to have lunch after a long walk. Attempted is the operative word. I have never, ever, seen such appalling "service" in a pub. A young waitress had such a sour face, I actually thought I was invisible and with people queueing at the bar put on her coat and walked out!! The elderly lady did her best...but that was laughable. I did wonder if there were television cameras filming a comedy! Didn't get to know what the food was like as we gave up even trying to order. This was Monday lunchtime, goodness knows what it's like at a busy time. In my opinion, don't even bother. Basil Fawlty did a better job.

I came here by accident with a friend. We were hoping to go somewhere else but couldn’t get in and found this lovely pub. I actually came back the following day with another friend and had an amazing Sunday roast. Will definitely be coming here again. The chief does everything from scratch. The staff are also so friendly.

Booked a meal for 6 people for a Birthday celebration and arrived quite early which was good as it soon got busy.The food was really good and everyone had a lovely meal with a varied menu and lots of specials on offer.The only issue was that the servcie got slower and slower as the night went on as they did not seem to have enough staff and we felt firgotten by the end of the meal and paid at the bar as it was just taking so long.Its a real shame as the meal was great and the venue nice.

We arrived at 1.00pm after making a reservation earlier in the week. Having visited about 18 months ago and had a good experience I was disappointed that our party of six were shown to a garden table in the corner of the bar rather than in the nicer conservatory. The food we ordered had to be reordered due to lack of pork and lamb. As we grew hungrier I had to chase up our order after 50 minutes! No wonder we ate our meal quickly and left. Shame as I had specifically mentioned it was an 80th birthday celebration. Staff were polite and food was OK,hence not a complete washout!

Awful. Hilariously awful.The place was very quiet and by 7pm the 2 landladies were not very subtly clearing up around us and turning off the lights. When we left at 7-15 the second we stepped outside we heard the door being bolted behind us. Apparently this is normal, if they don't want customers they should just say so, although the way they're going they won't have to worry about having customers for long.

Went for Sunday Lunch here recently and we were thrilled with our girlie lunch.The smoked salmon starter was devine and so was the roast pork and the fish and chips ! really this place is worth a visit ! The atmosphere is good and the service also.Great pub for walkers too !

On a summer's evening, this is a perfect place to be. We had a delicious meal and the service was just right. My family has been coming to this pub for many decades and have used it for various celebrations. The arrival of a new chef is certainly welcome. I returned the following week for yet another fabulous meal.

My partner and I had the most amazing meal last night, tired after a three day event, we popped out to our local. I had a special which was Pork Belly, with herb mash and seasonal veg, it was absolutely delicious and the veg was such a good mix of a variety of veg. My partner had Katsu chicken which was equally delicious. Can highly recommend the Pink and Lily for food and drinks along with lovely, friendly staff.

My friends and I occasionally drink in the Pink & Lily but after some shocking meals and first hand experience of the mayhem in the kitchen we choose not to eat in the Pink & Lily anymore.

Found this pub by chance as I was looking for a place where I could meet a friend, park cars, walk dogs and have lunch. It turned out to be great. Very welcoming and rural and pups were made to feel at home. Lunch was lovely too.

Our family have eaten at The Pink several times a year since it reopened nearly ten years ago. They have a new chef. This chap is definitely the best- of a good bunch. Last night we visited. I liked the look of all four 'specials' starters so chose them, in effect self-tapas, rather than a main course. All of them were amazingly good. My 14 year old son, who's something of a steak expert, really enjoyed his bavette. The front of house team were friendly and attentive- perhaps because they were slightly less busy than one would expect on a Saturday night. Mind you, with this new chef that will soon change. Wonderful thank you.

Stopped in on a Sunday for a quick drink. Pub wasn’t busy but spent ages waiting to get served, only to be ignored in favour of a obvious local, so I left. Truly terrible service!! I couldn’t give no stars but would not recommend this pub to anyone.

From arriving and finding our reservation was not clearly accommodated, we soon settled in to a willingly and quickly prepared table in part of the pub we could bring a well behaved dog (as detailed on website). We ordered a mix of items from menu and specials board, after some gentle encouragement to get our order in. When food arrived the two specials salads were very small in fact they looked like starters and when we asked a team member to check (as there had been a starter with similar ingredients) they confirmed after several minutes that this had happened. Their mistake so they took them away to replace. In the meantime three hot meals, served before our salads, were going cold and my polite husband won’t I’m afraid start to eat until the table is served. When our replacement salads arrived I’m afraid they looked like all the same ingredients just put into a filo pastry basket with a few more leaves. I’m afraid it was certainly not worth the cost difference between £7 starter and £12 main. Young lad we asked didn’t have a clue - regrettably he told us he had only just started. So as I say a willing team who seemed distracted as even a repeat drinks round got lost or delayed for again quite a few minutes. Better briefed team and always someone on duty behind the bar could be the answer. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day.

I reserved a table for 4 people gor an evening meal. We received a warm and friendly welcome in arrival. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a cosy feel to it. The food is amazing, tasty and well presented. Staff are attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend a bisit to this lovely pub.

Once again a surreal experience. Ordering drinks and food was painful and even when it arrived it was not quite right and one of us got the wrong order of chips. Ordered the chicken and bacon club which was basically and rather dry chicken and bacon sandwich. Certainly not my definition of a club sandwich. To be fair the other food was good. On its day it can be good but every good day is balanced by a less positive experience and just wish it could up its game and deliver on its potential.

Absolutely appalling. Game Ragu was a chopped up burger in Passata. Partner’s Fish Pie Special was dry fish covered by dry mashed potato, melted cheese on top. No binding sauce at all. Honestly gob smacked it was so bad. Charged for the meal - paid just so we could leave. We will not be going back, something has clearly happened in a once reliable kitchen. Disappointing.

Awful just awful. 40min wait, undercooked food, raw in places. Just about every table complained. Seriously need to hire someone that can cook. Nice location and building, real shame about the food and service.

Our walking group pre-booked and pre-ordered lunch, for most of us it was their sandwiches. We had a side room and the food was served swiftly and the sandwiches were served with lovely bread, salad and chips, absolutely delicious and filling.

This lunch had been booked a month in advance and food choices pre-ordered so it was extremely disappointing when a number of the party were forced to change their selections as they’d run out of things like mozzarella and Brie. As a number of the party were vegetarian this left them with little option but to agree to cheddar as a substitute. Not a good start - made worse by the fact that they couldn’t have cared less and made no apology.

On a quiet mid week late lunch, we waited over 40 minutes for an order of 5 burgers and chips. The landlady paid lip service to an apology through gritted teeth, with as much sincerity as Donald Trump, only after giving us a short lecture. Somehow, because we had been pre warned that our food would arrive at a different time than two others in our party (who made a separate order at the bar 2 minutes earlier), this justified them being inexcusably late with our meal. Getting short shrift as a customer never feels good but getting it after having already parted with over £80 (you have to pay in advance at the bar) feels like we were seriously taken advantage of. It certainly tarnished my son's birthday meal, but somehow I get the feeling, that they won't care about that, nor probably this review.

I have been here many times. It's an excellent country pub with a very traditional essence, with the wood, fireplace and all.

We had Sunday lunch here last week. We’ve been here for drinks before and love the decor and atmosphere. The Sunday lunch experience made the grade too. The owner/manager is just lovely, made sure we were as happy as could be.

I met up with a friend and had lunch here yesterday. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and the conservatory is beautiful. Gorgeous surroundings.

We visited on one of the snowy nights during January. Lovely warm pub with good, honest food and drink. The eating area is split in two with a higher level near the bar and a lower level with log burner. Dog friendly 🐕.

Called relatively last minute to book lunch with my kids, the pub was very accommodating despite being quite busy. Lovely cosy atmosphere, good food, and a drink and snooze for the dogs. All good thanks!

Probably very good if you've got children but we just wanted a quiet Sunday lunch. No chance! Should have asked for a table in the bar as the main restaurant area was cold. Very limited menu & don't bother if you're a veggie - only quiche on offer. The lamb was OK but the vegetables were luke warm but overcooked & the whole plate was swamped with gravy (to heat up the meal?). My husband said the pie was lovely & the chips very good. The desserts weren't very inspiring - the chocolate cheesecake looked shop made & was served with cream from an aerosol & the chocolate fondant was made from milk chocolate & very sweet although real cream! Won't be rushing back.

Lovely pub with real fire. Great staff and service. Serves Rebellion IPA. Staff asked about food intolerances and brought back choices from the chef. Starter was lovely and wife’s sea bass was very good. I enjoyed the game burger with cheese and bacon but the fries were awful( completely dried out). I could put a fork in any of them. The lower restaurant area was cold but the top area was lovely and cosy. I would recommend but stay away from the fries. Dogs are welcome.
