Been using pinh on for ages. But tonight there was a hair in the soup. Yuck. The two stars are for sorting it out by bringing two more soups for us. But put me off ever ordering again.

I ordered from here for the first time and it will definitely be my last. Chicken satay was undercooked & was pink in places, the texture was very slimey. Thai rice was nothing like Thai rice and tasted bland and the chicken tasted terrible. Really disappointed!

My sister is usually reviewing different fast food outlets and this is one we are enjoying lately. The last two orders have been very good. The woman on the phone was also very nice. We ordered duck with pineapple and chilli chicken and two rice dishes. Just for comparison with the last reviewer (9 March) we were told it would be ready in 20-30 mins. And it came within 45 minutes. No complaints and reasonably priced.

The warning was in the phone call. We ordered a mountain of food, and were told "that will be ready in 10 minutes". Hmmm What came next was just terrible food. Half a duck, not a crunchy skin, undercooked, cucumber that was so old that it was soggy like it was cut a week before. Bland egg fried rice. Uncrunchy chicken that was like it had been microwaved from frozen, and a weird tub of lemon sauce that like icing you'd put on a lemon drizzle cake. The beef in black bean, the beef was so spongy it was like the texture of fat. I left most of my meal (in the company of friends) just saying it was inedible.

Having tried a lot of the local Chinese takeaways I can tell you that Pinh On is by far the most enjoyable. It's more expensive than some others locally but as usual, you get what you pay for. I only mention this due to another reviewer that seems a little bias/fake, but I ordered from Coral Sea when I couldn't get hold of Pinh On a month ago, and it was possibly the worst Chinese I've had. Maybe they changed their chef, but it was bad. Very dry duck, thin pancakes and every dish was packed with onions and peppers which, for me, is always a bad sign to pump up the dish. This is what you see when you go to those '£5 all you can eat' places. If Coral Sea reads this, I'm sure you guys used to be better from what I remember? So last night I had the half duck, sweet and sour kung po chicken, mixed vegetables, sweet and sour king prawns, roast char siu and large special fried rice.3 of us and we were all very full i.e. we left some in most of the dishes. Bill was £36. The duck was tender and juicy - not dry at all. Kung po chicken had a good level of spice and was good sized chicken pieces with cashew nuts. Roast char siu was juicy and not fatty and the king prawns were so tasty, I wished we ordered a second lot of them. If there was any criticism it was that maybe there was a little too much sweet and sour sauce in the dishes but not a big issue by any stretch. If there has been a change in ownership, that's fine. The lady I spoke to when I placed my order was friendly and order arrived speedily. The chef seems to be the same as the consistent high quality for everything I ordered was there. Even the prawn crackers that were included taste better than many other places. Keep up the good work guys and keep putting out good Chinese food. As long as you do this, you'll always retain our custom. Olly Russell

Since the new ownership the food has gone down hill. We ordered here for long time. 1.chicken chow Mein. Over cooked and taste of oil. After effect taste not good 2. Vegetables over cooked in all dishes. No longer crunchy just awfull. 3. We felt so unwell the oil used was burt and used in the same wok. You could taste the bitterness of oil taste. We ordered £40 of food all they could offer was Coke for free. Not good. Coral Sea are a lot better and Orpington high street Good luck

I have other chinese take away outlets closer to me, but I prefer to use Pinh On. I have never had cause to complain in the twelve years I have been using it. The pancake rolls are delicious and better than other places in the local area.

Good, standard Chinese takeaway if you are a local. If you like crispy salt n pepper squid/prawns theirs are great, and we have been happy with everything we've ordered. A good local and I will continue to call on them when too lazy to cook. Quick delivery if you live 5 mins away as we do. My only complaint is the prawn crackers, free only if you spend £25 - that's just mean!

This is our regular chinese takeaway pit stop. We love it. And the portion sizes are great - a meal for one could feed 2 people.

Best Chinese in Orpington bar none! Difficult to fathom the bad reviews - we’ve ordered from Sun Moon Lake loads of times and have always been really happy and we are very fussy. Love the place.
