Pings Takeaway in East Devon

My food took 1 hour 45 minutes to deliver and the communication was non existent apart from 1 text to say it was late, after which, nothing for an hour! Very disappointing

First of all I read previous reviews and I really don’t think they are fair. Things like being a little cold when delivering takes time, the driver you don’t know where he goes first. You want it hot? Get up and get it yourself! Now for my review I can say the lady in front of house is lovely, the food is one of the best Chinese outside of bristol and even then there is only 2 I will go to in bristol. If your staying at haven don’t waste your time going to the one in the village either drive down pings or get it delivered from them and if it’s a little colder warm it up it’s not rocket silence.

If the quantity for money continue like this with all takeaways then I can see many going out of business. Appreciate its testing times with running costs by if you give a little more than expectations then you may get repeat business! But not from us.

Normally our go to place for Chinese, Unfortunately it’s now taken over 2 hours for a delivery once you’ve placed your order, and this isn’t once both on 2 occasions. Had to phone to see why it’s taken so long bearing in mind it’s January, and the last time we were told which was 2.5 hours from the point of ordering that it’s just being cooked. Well I’m sorry but the food was lukewarm so it couldn’t have been. I’ve sent a email but have yet to receive a reply. This is probably why you can’t order on the main ordering platforms anymore as they wouldn’t put up this kind of service for their customers. Gutted as i believe it’s the best Chinese

driver wouldn't come up to my door. he stated they were no longer insured to come in. I live in a flat and had to go and collect from main communal door.

So have been a regular but spent 36 pounds and the shrimp curry had about 12 very small shrimps and the rest was liquid and onions. Felt very let down on this meal. You get more in a frozen TV dinner.

Order a lot from here this was disappointing. Chips were undercooked. Pork wasn’t pleasant at all! Generally really disappointed S S

This was inedible. The fried rice was a thick, gloupey porridge with a strange, chemical taste. The chips were rock hard and dried out. I gave them to the dog and binned the rest.

I dont hndersrand why it takes almost 2 hours to get food cooked and delivered? Its always the same with pings. By far the best chinease in town, just a shame there delivery times let then down.

Very friendly and patient receptionist. Food was quickly made, hot and tasty even after getting it home. I'll definitely be back for more! One thing worth noting is that orders until £10 are cash only which is understandable and meant I treated myself to a starter as well. 😄

had to call twice , staff were lovely but after first call I had no promised call back and had to call again after 20 minutes as still no food.

some of the chicken was hard and over cooked. 3 times my food has been late now so will not order again from here.

batter on the chicken balls was soggy. chilli was burnt on salt and chilli chips

original delivery time was 7.40pm but kept getting delayed. eventually arrived at 8.40pm. food however was great as usual!

Always my go to place for a Chinese take away. Great food as usual. Easy to order and collect, I have used delivery before as well and never had any issues.

The food was delicious I have been ordering from pings for years and the food just gets better every time.

Beef and pork very tough, will not be reordering. Not impressed.

The WORST Chinese ever. I decided to give it try again after it being gross the last time ( which was a year ago ) the sauce in the rice is appalling, the chicken balls have barely any chicken in and are just full with oil. Even the prawn crackers taste bad…will never go here again.

When I ordered at 7.30pm Just eat said 5 min delivery time however the restaurabt then told me that delivery would be 8.50-9.10 so this was longer than expected. Also the food was very tasty but some of the meat was rather over cooked so a bit hard and chewy

The Just Eat ordering was flawless and confirmation from Pings was quick. Delivery was early but not so early to be a problem. Sadly the food delivered was nowhere near the quality we expected, although it was hot which was the only positive. Sweet and sour chicken, King Prawns with mushrooms, egg fried rice, etc. Very little taste, very little seasoning, ultimately very, very poor. Won’t order from Pings again and would advise against doing so!!!!.

The food arrived late after ordering at 18:05 we received our food at 8pm despite being indicated it would be 19:25-19:45. The food was not hot and was warm.

The food was not up to the usual standard. Crispy beef , not crispy chewy beef. Most things only Luke warm. The nicest thing about the meal were the prawn crackers!!

Needed to find a new Chinese takeaway as our original one has closed. Pings will definitely be our new go to! Good food and food was delivered earlier than expected.

Delivery took 95 minutes, the food wasn't hot and mediocre at best.

When I ordered it said the food would arrive at 8.10pm, at 9pm I got a text to say it was on its way. I cancelled the order as it was to late for me and my family to eat. When I checked the app the delivery time changed to estimated 8.25pm. I rang and cancelled the order.

First time dropping in since moving to Exmouth. Friendly service and a reasonable waiting time on a Friday evening. They happily checked on dietary requirements for us. Food was fresh, tasty and not greasy at all (prawn crackers can be hit & miss). Sweet & sour chicken balls were huge & a big hit. Also recommend the mixed veg with garlic sauce and duck pancakes (shredded for you which is much appreciated). Only slight negative was the lemon chicken, pieces were so small they'd dried out somewhat. Will be returning! Recommend.

It took me more time to choose what I would like to eat ,than for them to prepare it and deliver it to my doors. Food arrived piping hot ,and it tasted amazingly 👏 I highly recommend, and definitely will order again!

Not as good as other Chinese in Exmouth . Thai veg main was too spicy to eat, literally burned mouth with spicy heat. Inedible.

Generally great, have to be a bit careful ordering at the weekend because the food quality drops and they’re often late.

Although the food was officially 20 minutes late it wasn’t delivered until 2 hours after ordering. I asked for no veg in my black bean and it was packed with veg.

It was a very busy night (pre New Year) so to be expected but they did keep in touch and let us know throughout so messaging was good.

Great portions, better than all the other local Chinese’s in my experience. Delivery is always on time. The 2 lads who deliver on Fridays are always on time and polite, make sure you give them a tip, they’re bringing you your tea!

Even the food was late, it was piping hot & obviously freshly made. The delivery driver apologised for the lateness & was lovely. Don’t mind at all that it was a bit late on a busy bonfire Saturday night when it was delicious.

Worst Chinese I’ve had. The sauce that came with the orange chicken was had the consistency of water. Would of the same result by pouring orange squash over our dinner. The sauce for the Thai curry was also like water. The satay chicken skewers were over cooked and chewy making them in edible. Will not be getting food from pings again!!
