We visited for 'elevenses'. The Covid19 precautions include assigning tables to customers before queuing for food and drink. Since the 'Eat out to help out' scheme was in operation we decided to have a bacon sandwich as well as coffee and cake. The Covid19 precautions made service a little slow, but it was still friendly. The sandwich was prepared to order, served quite quickly, and was very good in quality and quantity. The drinks and cakes were good. Table clearing and sanitising was prompt and thorough. Definitely recommended

What a lovely, friendly place to stop whilst shopping. Loads to choose from on the menu, generous portions. Comfy sofa's and a relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

I've been going here for about 40 years on and off. Pleasant premises, good standard of food and service. Good choice of food: gluten free options. Unfortunately I didn't realise I hadn't received enough change until I was on my way home... Means I'll have to go in again to collect that rogue £10 note (which I shan't be spending in the Pine Room!)

Called in here on a Sunday for coffee and cake whilst Christmas shopping with my partner. We had hot drinks and cake, no home made offerings for my gluten free partner but the apple cake he had was quite acceptable. I had white chocolate and raspberry cake which was very nice. The girls serving were very friendly and helpful, but I do wish people would not vacuum a restaurant whilst customers are still enjoying cakes and the restaurant is still open. Apart from that we had a nice break and would call in again.

Took my daughter for coffee and sandwiches at Austins department store. My wife comes here frequently. Mid-week, mid-morning, few people around so service was super-attentive with no queue. The loos are very good and perfectly clean and the restaurant area is a very pleasant place to sit and chat. We wanted freshly made sandwiches rather than the packaged variety, without having to wait. These were served with a small side salad. It was all obviously freshly prepared and we finished every last lettuce leaf. The sandwiches, self-service from a chilled display, were generously filled and well seasoned. My flat white coffee was from a push-button machine and therefore disappointing. It's never going to be the same as Costa up the road. Pity. Hence the 4 star rating. But I would still go again.

Stopped here on the off chance as I fancied a salad for lunch and glad I did.My egg and prawn salad was made fresh and still delivered quickly. At first I thought it was a little on the expensive side but the portion size was really good so was value for money. There was ample seating, some of this extends into the department store itself but I don’t think it would ever get really noisy even when busy. They have a fairly wide ranging menu so definitely worth a visit. The only negative thing is a poor phone signal and no free Wifi with slow 3G

Always enjoyed popping in for A coffee or tea, with something to eat. The toilet facilities are nice too and not too far away from the restaurant

Had lunch recently. The toasted sandwiches and hot drinks were okay, without being anything special. The place is clean and has free wifi

This place used to be the best in Dawlish with a great range of tapas + pizzas and nachos. Now the tapas has gone and the sourdough pizza base was soggy, the tomato sauce not great and the pepperoni lacked flavour. Such a shame. The lack of customers on a weekend shows people are voting with their feet and going elsewhere.

We have just returned from a fabulous three days staying at the Cridford Inn, which was located in the very quiet village of Trusham in Devon. An archetypal quaint English pub with thatched roof we had the most amazing relaxing three days with a lovely cooked breakfast and chose to eat in at the pub two of the three nights we were there. Everything was freshly produced, so the menu was not extensive but gave us just enough choice. The rooms are arranged around a small courtyard and despite being right next to the pub, there was no noise as the Pub seems to be frequented mainly by locals who are equally walkers and dog owners like us, and we woke up to the sound of masses of chirping birds. Ness and Paul were very welcoming of dogs and were happy to have the dogs in the breakfast room or restaurant sitting quietly at our feet when we ate. The rooms were well kitted out the with a large comfortable bed, kettle, TV, And a powerful shower. There were some lovely walks close to the Inn although our preference was to disappear over to Dartmoor during the day. We will definitely be visiting again. It was a few minutes from Bovey Tracey and a short drive onto Dartmoor which of course has lots of open spaces and dog walking.

been there several times because of the nice garden and pool table, staff and landlord are unfriendly, not very relaxing atmosphere. It is not worth it in the end, there are nicer pubs in the village.

Over priced for what it was. Burnt bacon no sauce on food even tho asked for it on there. Rude service.
