Lovely lunch, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Pilling's Boat House is a great place, with lovely views. We will visit again.

Very disappointed with my advertised GFO Sunday lunch it apparently became GF by removing the none GF Yorkshire pudding which to me is big part a Sunday roast . Was given nothing to make up for the lack of my Yorkshire pudding the meal was nice . Service was poor forgot to the bring my pot of tea until prompted by another member of staff so we’re not apparently charged the pot of tea. Shame because I love this place but today you let me down 🥲

Good sized portions, freshly cooked. Good service on a quiet Thursday lunchtime.

Dropped in for a casual anniversary lunch today, and had one of our favourite meals in a long time. The restaurant is looking really stylish right now, a nice relaxing space, inside and out. The welcome from the staff was warm and friendly. We've been visiting the restaurant for 13 years now, and the recent new Manager has really built on the customer experience improvements made at the restaurant over the last few years, it is the best I think it's ever been. The food was WONDERFUL. We opted for starters/light plates for our main, as it was lunch time. The Vegetable Chowder was just gorgeous, the bread served with it too, both were so very tasty! My husband had the fish cake, and said it was delicious. We shared a crumble - something us Brits have all the time - but this was another level today, the brandy ice-cream, anglais and choc straw served with it all need to be tasted to appreciate. All in all, this is coming to be one of our most favourite places to visit again.

Hidden gem, very classy feeling restaurant at countryside marina near Loughborough. Food is exceptional and can highly recommend the breakfast croquette which is fantastic.

Visited for breakfast which was delicious, sat outside and enjoyed the lovely views over the water in the sunshine. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Really nice food and location and good service. I dropped the rating however as they allow smoking in the outdoor eating area so if it's a nice day and you want to sit outside you have to breath in horrible toxic smoke which isn't nice at the best of times but especially when trying to enjoy a nice meal.

I recently dined at Pillings Lock Boathouse, inspired by a glowing recommendation in the Muddy Stileto’s newsletter, and I must say, it didn't disappoint. The service was excellent, and our food arrived fairly quickly, which is always a plus. My husband and I both opted for two courses at £24.50 each, a reasonable price for a delightful meal out. He went for the lamb burger with beef on top, which was slightly on the greasy side but forgivable for an indulgent cheat meal. I, on the other hand, savored the smoked salmon with veggies – a dish that was both flavorful and rich, a true taste sensation. The real treat at Pillings Lock Boathouse, though, is the stunning view. However, if you desire an alfresco dining experience, I recommend booking an outside table in advance to fully enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Overall, it's a lovely spot for a memorable meal.

Just walked a long way to the boat house to get a drink at 1:30pm. We checked on the website before going. On arrival we were told quite rudely and abruptly that they had stopped serving and couldn't even get a drink. The young lad was dismissive and quite frankly didn't seem to care or know about customer service. Very disappointed.

Amazing place. Great customer service. Good quality produce and nicely balanced. I had the vegetarian breakfast with eggs replaced with hash browns.

This is a hidden gem near Leicester. Has a large marina with a lovely restaurant around it, with lots of seating area and a variety of food. The water is extremely clean as you can see the bottom of it and the fishes clearly.

Outstanding, exceptional service and when the weather is great, on the marina side deck area, it's our little bit of the Caribbean in Charnwood. Superb breakfasts and evening meals - Book, (as with anywhere this good)!!

Dropped by as we were in the area. Really pleased we did, was close to 3pm but we were happily served lunch from the menus, we had fish and chips and the sirloin steak, steak done perfectly and fish batter was sooooo crispy, very nice and will definitely come again eating outside next to water with a nice atmosphere, you cannot beat it,

First visit and impressed. Very popular so book restaurant in advance. Relaxing environment by the water. Plenty of parking but narrow approach roads so caution advised.

Lovely setting and great views, food was reasonably priced and well worth the money, staff were friendly and very helpful.

We were two of us and we reserved the table upfront for lunch. It was raining at that time so restaurant gave us table inside even though our reservation was for outside. The place was almost full and there were lot of cars outside. This restaurant is in secluded place so not easy by public transportation. We ordered two mocktails and 3 dishes. They were nice. We ordered vegan dishes as they offer "vegan adaptive" options as well.

Visited this place recently with my mum and sister. Views are absolutely beautiful! Amazing brunch/lunch place. We ordered fish and chips. Great portion,, delicious and enjoyed it alot. Would definitely visit again. Staff were friendly too.

Excellent food, service a bit slow

Beautiful location, staff were very friendly and the food and drinks were great! It was very busy because of the sunny weather and we were told there was a wait for food which was absolutely fine but we still felt the food came out quick! The chef even came around the tables to apologise! Can't recommend this place enough, especially on a lovely sunny day!

We adore going to PBH, the burgers are gorgeous, freshly prepared and delicious! You may need to book a table on busy weekends...

Once you get down the single track road (there are passing places) it's lovely. It is a working marina but the restaurant is really good. The staff were great, the food was fab, freshly cooked and good value. We sat by the window and had a lovely view of the boats & wildlife. I'd definitely go there again.

Delightful setting and very polite friendly service. The waiter couldn't do enough. My partner had tasty nut roast and I had beef. The veggies and roasts were good. Delicious gravy. Outdoor heaters meant we could sit in comfort and watch the swans etc Three issues: the meat was tough which was especially disappointing as it was supposed to be rare. It was also tasteless. The Yorkshire puddings were a bizarre chewy texture. The music pounding out gets in the way of having a decent conversation. Such a shame because if these issues were sorted it would be a 4 star to 5 star rating.

Not overly impressed if I’m honest. Coffee expensive and Luke warm and in the car park by the toilets there was a bad bad smell of sewerage !

Visited yesterday in 33 / 35 degrees heat.. staff unbelievably good.. food.. top draw excellent food.. service fantastic..what a venue. What a location..

Banging breakfast in the sunshine

The setting and food was nice however it took 45mins just to get our drinks and then the food came with bits missing off. I think the servers forgot about us as it took so long and noone came over to allow us to raise the issue of the missing food or request the bill.

Another wonderful meal in The Boathouse last night. Extremely tasty, well cooked and presented. Fantasic environment. Got to be one of the best places to eat in Leicestershire

Very good breakfast place outside Leicester with a beautiful view. Prices lower than in the center and food tastier and drinks stronger 🤣 I recommend it to anyone but it is worth call and book a table because even on Monday there were a lot of people💛

For an important moment, do not go to this place I booked 09:30 for an anniversary a week ago I confirmed booking via email reminder On the day, we managed to take kids to the school, I had a day off, I almost arrived at the restaurant, I got a phone call from the manager Abbey saying she has to cancel my booking because their chef is not available for some reason and offering 10%discount next time I dont want discount, I have money, what I dont have now is the time for the next 364 days

Very v expensive but a gorgeous setting, can't say the food is absolutely great but it's not bad, just doesn't stack up to the price, others may think differently but that's my opinion

First visit to Pilling's Boat House. Parking was difficult due to the surprising amount of cars in the car park when restaurant was almost empty. Drinks order taken & arrived promptly but meal order involved a considerable wait to arrive. Meals a reasonable standard & Fish & Chips popular. The pork tender may have been tender before being over cooked but sadly, dry & tough. I wouldn't visit again. J. W.

Just about ok value for money. Service was a little on the cool side. Breakfast was good. Location good. Menus could do with a clean and the cafe generally lacks a bit of care and attention.

Lovely meal at the cricket club awards night. Rarely defeated by a dessert but the chocolate mousse, after two courses was HUGE and very rich so could only manage half ... I'll know another time!

Don't come here unless you have booked so I can't quote how many stars I would give them

After not having been for years, popped in for lunch. Great food, great drinks and wonderful setting.

Lovely place, quiet and relaxing for reflective thinking it seems like your a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the towns and cities.

First time visiting 🥰 you need to book as it gets busy. We had a lovely brunch and chose smoked salmon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. 😋 yum. Perfectly cooked eggs and very tasty. Great surroundings, will visit again.

Great cafe/pub on the marina. Excellent on a sunny day. Nice views of the water. I had a full English and it tasted great. Proper meaty sausages and well cooked eggs. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Attentive staff,nice location .

Very limited range. Went for an evening meal. There were no starters or desserts available. Draught beer was off. Burger's were ok, however the mountain of skinny fries you got were cold before you got half way through.

Arrived without notice for Sunday lunch for 3. Courteous reception and excellent food. The marina is down a small track but well worth making the effort to find it. Thoroughly recommended.
