You can't beat a decent pie and the pies here are decent but not much more than that. As previously remarked the service was pretty slow and indifferent and it took quite a while to get served on an only moderately busy evening. The pies were good but there wasn't much kidney in Kate and Sidney which was a bit disappointing and the drinks were definitely overpriced. It could be so much better with only a little more effort.....

A great range of tastey handmade pies with options to make a full meal. Whilst the pies are excellent, the service is slow and prices are high given the relatively simple nature of the meal. However it is worth a visit! PM does carry out and sit-in meals and has a licensed bar, beware soft-drinks are expensive.

Just the perfect comfort food! The sticks that you can get extra are a nice add-on, the halloumi was great and the pigs in blankets too!One thing that really disappointed me was the side of mac 'n cheese- do not order it! It was very poor, quite dry and honestly didn't really taste the cheese at all. Cant big the place up enough. The tables and chairs are basic as is the decor, but if your looking for posh nosh dont come here. This is good honest home cooking food and plenty of it. It did seem like "younger " people use it a lot, WE ARE ALL IN OUR 50's but we didn't feel/or were made to feel out of place, in fact we were noisiest people in there till our food arrived , then it was almost silent as we were all to busy enjoying the food to much to talk!. To start I rung at 5:30 to book a table for 7:30 to be told they don't have the space to be able to book/hold tables. I was told that it should be fairly easy to get a table though and to expect a 10 minute wait. We arrived at 7:15 and were told we would have to wait 30 minutes. We sat at the 'bar' and was ignored for 15 minutes before finally being offered a drink. While we were waiting there was one couple that arrived afterwards that sat down instantly. And another table sat empty. We decided to go elsewhere so settled our bill. When we explained why we were leaving we were told that we could have booked and the cut off time for bookings was 5! And to add insult the guy pointed to a table we could have sat at 10 minutes before (he knew we were waiting). We went to Coal (5 minutes away) and had much better service. Avoid if you want to be treated fairly!

I came here for lunch and it was very quiet when I went in there. I ordered the free ranger pie with cheesy mash and it was so good. The pie came out not long after I ordered the food (maybe 10 minutes). Highly recommend coming for lunch here.

Friendly service, the bacon sausage and cheese roll was massive and prepared with care. Best breakfast roll around the harbourside

Bit of a disappointment to be honest. The decor lacks character and ambience, which is replaced by the generic sterility of a standard gastro pub. Kind of like a Whetherspoons, but with normal priced drinks, so worse. On the subject of drinks, I was offered a loyalty card on my first purchase in the pub, which states “buy 10 beers get one free”. We bought four beers while here and only had two stamps acquired on the card, which makes me feel a little ripped off. It seems that the whole Easton area somewhat agreed with me this night too, as where all other pubs in the area had a queue out the door this evening (the first pay weekend of 2025), there were barely six people in the queens head the whole time we were there. BS5 pubs have always had a quirky and interesting spin on them, which is what keeps them popular and their patrons loyal. The refurb of the Queens Head (and I assume new ownership) has entirely removed all semblance a unique, fun and intimate environment and replaced it with a generic, standardised use of a space. Such a shame to see this one change, take a leaf from other pubs in the area and give yourself some character!

What a great night, ably assisted by the fantastic Bella! God the staff work hard but always with a smile. Great food, pizzas and small plates, so delicious. Lots of great local beer choices. Then clear the decks for High Fade. Great gig, great atmosphere, no tension, great music. I love this place.
