Really enjoyed the breakfast here. Staff were polite and attentive. Food was good and fresh! This was at the ilford location

Avoid the Ilford branch, very poor customer service. Cold food and management very poor and rude. They didn’t let us get tap water and tried saying it’s a loss to their business - forced us to buy bottled water. Only late into the meal did they inform us they won’t be taking card payment only cash. Honestly, the whole experience was not great and food did not make up for it either. I would avoid completely..

Good sized portions, looked clean and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The waiter did forget part of our order though lol

Ridiculous customer service. Chef very arrogant and the front desk man understands very little English. I ordered my food via telephone by online menu, I went to collect the food to be told online menu price is different even though price and order was agreed. My order had missing sides even though I paid the price. When I returned I was told they can't give me wedges or fries which was missing unless I pay extra . They do not take card payment either. I waited for the manager to come on the phone to resolve the issue as advised by the chef but he was unable to get me through to the manager then chef came out took my bag of food and refunded my money by saying "please do me a favour and do not order again", he also said its my problem that I am not updated with their prices and not to go by online even though price and order was accepted and confirmed on the phone. Unbelievable, it left me and family of 4 kids without food last minute after waiting 45 mins to collect. Disgusting way to treat a customer. I use to always order when it was run by asian owners.

We ordered via phone the man on the phone didn't even know how to speak English having to constantly repeat myself and after confirming he still got the order wrong when we got there. They have no manners how they speak to customers, talking with aggression and snatching the food bag off me and returning the money by stating never to order there again. I mean i don't think anybody would after that treatment. When asked to speak to manager said it can't be done and to leave as they want to go home. Me and my sister travelled 30 mins drive to come back empty handed. The chef needs to be disciplined and trained on how to deal with customers. Shame on the manager, you can not run a business with that set of employees who are rude and undermining speaking in their language, snatching orders and returning money requesting never to order again. I wonder why it is so empty in there. Awful experience!

It what seems to be a sea of deliveroo, just Eat and Uber Eats traffic sits an oasis of a cafe style restaurant which gets one away from the hustle and bustle of working from home. Its a crying shame that people would much rather order from an unknown food container with zero hygiene ratings than support a local restaurant. Initially the place seemed quiet, but when we warmly welcomed by a member of staff I realised this would be a memorable experience and I wasn’t disappointed. My nephew who is on the autistic spectrum is usually doesn’t touch food other than the dreaded mcdonalds but his chips were offered and made with so much love at Pie Factory that they didn’t last the journey home and not a sound from him the entire 1hr journey back. The pies were tasty, not the gluey sauce filled pastry you’d find in supermarkets but instead a really nice moist meat pie. The gravy was thoroughly tasty. The breaded halumi was something of a nice surprise too. I found my meal not only reasonably priced but great value for money as well. Wish there were outlets in North London so I could visit more often. Simple, unique and tasty. Thoroughly enjoyable experience

Ordered Steak/mushroom pie, mash/peas/gravy. Could tolerate the very slow service but not the poor quality food. No need to book-bonus. Got a table-bonus. Order service-20 mins in a quiet venue. The we had to hail someone to take the order as no one seemed interested. Good-plate presentation lovely. Peas quite bland. Mash had some powdery dry bits but edible. Gravy was average but a tasty gravy would so compliment the dish. Pie pastry beautiful! Steak pieces in the pie had many pieces very inedible. Small pale cuts of meat, clear fat and gristle in quite a few pieces so the contents were scooped out and left on the side. Not a full pie. To be honest-Morrison's do the same meal but the steak is rich brown and the pie full with no fat. And that's a cafe meal! And they only charge £5. Guys..sort the quality of your steak out. It's awful. Sort out service to be more attentive. Lovely venue let down by poor service and substandard meat. There are better places out there with better service. This could be a great venue but tends to cater to the Asian palatte and they don't mind fat/gristle. I won't recommend or visit again.

Traveled here over 1 hour just for the breakfast. Despite the printed menu saying the breakfast club is until 16:00 the worker says only till 2 o clock. I told him your menu says till 4 and we have traveled over an hour. He laughed straight in my face and joked to the other worker and said we can go somewhere else. So we got up and left. We were a family with a baby as well. Worst customer service ever. I did say we will unfortunately leave a bad review and he advised me to leave a review!

Went to Ilford branch, only to be bitterly disappointed by the appalling service, almost rude staff and inflexible menu options. I wanted not to have 2 items from the breakfast menu and asked for another item, willing to pay for the extra item. The manger's response was "we are very busy" (only 8 diners in the restaurant) and can’t change any items from the fixed menu. The same branch with another waiter obliged only a week ago. Anyway, the manager/waiter let us go and loos the customer for good only to satisfy his ego. Good luck with staying busy with this attitude when there are brilliant breakfast places on High Road, Ilford.

Really enjoyed the piping hot chicken and mushroom pie with an Asian twist of spicy mash potatoes. They can cater for one or the whole family occasion

The big breakfast was truly mind blowing and so delicious, but the waiter serving us on sunday morning was so grumpy and extremely rude. He really needs to be taught about customer service.

I like everything about this, how a whole shop is dedicated to halal pies. You won't find these sort of shops in Birmingham, well not that I know of. I ordered the steak and mushroom pie with mash and roast vegetables. The other half ordered the shepherds pie with spicy mash and roast vegetables. To be honest, both meals just didn't do it for me. My pie was ok, average at best. It lacked flavour. The shepherds pie was really poor. My sister makes much better. I wanted to try something different in London, but was left disappointed for our first meal. However, if you looking for something cheap and cheerful for once in a blue moon, then this is the place.

I should point out that the Ilford branch has good reviews, but I have only been to the Whitechapel one. I had a pie with filling which was decent enough, but was disappointed to see that it was pretty much 50-60% filled. The actual size of the pies are misleading, as obviously the owner is trying to make more margin with this practice. The food wasn't bad, but this just annoyed me.

The quality of the food is very good and the wait for this is not very long as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. They also have other options other than pie, such as the big breakfast option that I had. Big Breakfast: Spicy Omelette (containing Birds eye chilli), chips, chopped mushroom, tomatoes (removed), sausages, turkey slices, baked beans, french bread and spinach. The food is halal as well. They do not accept card, only cash. Overall, very nice restaurant. Will definitely visit again.

Stating nearby and found this as we walked. Looked like a good option as the adults wanted pie and the kids wanted lasagne and burger! Really well priced and the portions were good. We had a variety of sides and they were all delicious. No license but the non alcoholic beer was Cobra and was tasty like the pies!!! We had Steak and Mushroom and the Spinach and Feta, the Spicy mash was gorgeous with bits of chillies!

Staying nearby found this palce. Ordering my meal service was quite quick and food was fresh as described on the menu. Good to have an option of baby boiled potatoes

Strange concept of food asian style fillings in pies i had the very hot pie with mash mushy peas & gravy with a crunchie milkshake. I like hot curries but this pie was not enjoyable had to leave half as it was uncomfortably spiced up to sn extreme hotness.

Llegamos alrededor de las 8 pm para una cena tardía, fue tan bueno que volvimos al día siguiente para un desayuno tardío. Tuve las tortitas que estaba bien presentada y sabor fresco. Muy recomendable si estas pasando y tienes hambre.

La sucursal de Whitechapel no es nada bienvenida. Entré esta mañana y le pregunté al hombre si había conexión WiFi para poder trabajar y comer al mismo tiempo. Él dijo que no, sin embargo, aparentemente hay. Perdió mi costumbre y definitivamente no volveré a ir allí, la sucursal de Ilford es mucho más amigable con buena comida. Al final, fui a Pitar Koor por el camino que estaba más que feliz de tener mi costumbre.

Fuimos para un almuerzo tardío, así que no muy ocupado cuando llegamos allí. Encontré el pastel muy suave sin sabor, también la crema de mi pollo y el pastel de champiñones se veía cuajada, lo cual era un poco molesto. ¡Mi hermana pensó que era porque estaba congelada y luego cocinada! ! La salsa era un líquido espeso allí para complementar el pastel de nuevo sin sabor. La única parte agradable de la comida era el puré de papas que tenía chile en entonces inusual pero muy sabroso. Lamentablemente escuché mucho sobre este lugar, pero para mí fue una experiencia muy decepcionante.

We ate here twice during our visit. We had a variety of dishes over these 2 visits. The shepherds pie was amazing as was the steak and mushroom and fish and chips. Polite staff, nice comfortable environment. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Overall average, mess up the order. Ordered kofta pie with roasted vegetables and received kofta pie with mash and peas.

I always used to pass by this establishment, but never had the urge to try it out for some reason. until recently my wife really wanted to go as she heard some good reviews for the Whitechapel establishment.

Visited with 3 young kids, the staff were so nice and made everyone feel welcome. The food was piping hot and very tasty. Will definitely visit again.

Booked a day in advance for 10 people for iftar... only to be told there was no booking... Absolute disgrace ruined our family iftar night out... Wazir saved the day. Manager was so rude

The guy who works there (i think he’s the manager) was really rude to two girls who just wanted to use the toilet. Absolutely don’t recommend this place, the worker just has a bad attitude generally.

We found this place on the way back to our hotel from a conference. Everywhere else seemed to be some sort of fried chicken - which we didn't fancy.

I visited for the first time a few days ago with my family and enjoyed the food. Maybe I eat very little but I was definitely full before I managed to finish my beef and mushroom steak pie. As my sides, I ordered caramelised carrots which were a bit too sweet for my liking and spiced mash which was amazing!

Super acceuil pour ce petit restaurant certes un peu excentré des principaux lieux touristiques mais ça vaut le coup de s éloigner. Le rapport qualité/ prix est tres intéressant. On a mangé la fameuse "pie" à la viande bien assaisonnée accompagnée de la purée de petits pois. C'était copieux et tres bon.

It was my first visit to this new establishment which is more than just pies. The restaurant is clean and airy and the staff friendly and engaging. The food came very quickly, served with bistro gravy and a lovely salad. We both had the chicken which was tasty and comes with chips or mashed potato. Very reasonable prices in line with the location. Unfortunately it is cash only at present. Nearby cash points available. No parking outside but you can park in nearby streets or in the shopping centre.

I was quite impressed with this place, the modern decor. All of the smaller restaurants and cafes in ilford a little dated so I was quite impressed with it. I went on a early Friday evening so it quite quiet it’s usually quite busy here so I wanted to see what the big fuss was. The problem was the glass windows!!! There's an end of a road (York road) facing the restaurant and drivers driving passed or in traffic and people walking passed can look right into the restaurant it can right put you off.

The Pie Factory is located opposite Ilford station. The Restaurant had an extremely strong smell of cheese throughout. The dishes weren't particularly lunch time affordable as mains start around £7.50. Roughly seating for 40 people. The Restaurant by no means is the traditional Pie and Mash Shop. The Pies were very dry and not worth the £8.50 cost.

Went to both pie factory Whitechapel and the one in Ilford over the holiday period. Menu in Ilford was much wider and more choice. But the Whitechapel one was also good and different.

Muy buena relación calidad-precio. El personal es muy educado y siempre un poco de bromas con disfrutar de ellos. También recibo sus alas de pollo, pero termina comiendo todo nafisa. Often visit Pie Factory and it never disappoints! Good service and great food my favourite is the shepherds pie with the gravy and roasted vegetables on the side.

Wanted traditional pies so we went to Pie Factory in ilford for a meal with friends. The pies were certainly traditional and tasted wonderful. The menu also offers options other than pies, including roast chicken and steak which we ordered and were equally impressive in taste.

I've heard mixed reviews about this restaurant so me and the wife thought we'd see for ourselves. We ordered the chicken and mushroom pie along with 2 sides mash and veg. We also ordered the masala wings. All I can say we were disappointed- although the pie itself wasn't too bad everything else just seemed pre-cooked or microwaved. The price is very reasonable and portion sizes too but overall wasn't wowed or too happy with the taste.

I love pies and am therefore a bit biased so the food was great and very generous portions. It's very good value for money. However the only fault I found were the staff a bit slow.

Visited on 02/08/17 at 2pm with a work colleague. We were greated by a lovely young lady who seated us. She asked if we had visited before but it was our first visit. She gave us both a menu and pointed out their lunch meal where you could get a pie and two sides with a drink for £8.50.We were both impressed by their menu, not lots and lots of items to choose from just the right amount so there would be some thing for everyone.Both opted for the lunch menu and went for the steak pie with spicy mash and mushy peas. We didnt have to wait long and our food arrived piping hot and delicious. The gravy was lovely.The food was delicuous, clean restaurant, quick service and extremely friendly staff. Next time im working in the area i will Defiently will be going back.

Really enjoyed the good here. Went for the steak and mushroom pie with mash and roasted veg and loved it. My wife had the shepherds pie which whilst a little on the dry side was still pretty good. Since it was halal we could all pick pretty much what we wanted which is very rare for this cuisine. Also service was very efficient indeed. Would thoroughly recommended here definitely worth a visit.

As these things go, not bad. Looks better than it tastes though. Bit of spice creeps into most combination. Friendly enough and quick service, just wish the quality was a bit better. Given the turnover you would think they might tweak the pastry and fillings a bit.

Read lots of reviews and I had high hopes.Unfortunately the pies weren't great, the mash was absolutely revolting, it tasted like the powder stuff you but out of the box. However the service was good the owner was very friendly and a nice man.It's halal which is a plus point for me.

Large selection of pies from traditional to spicy Indian. Mash is also available with chillies. The sides (roasted veg) is reasonably good - would be nicer if it was fresh. I've visited this place a few times now, it's always been reasonably busy and do recommend it, would go back. Never tried the breakfast.

The menu and waitress didn't indicate this. Size: too small. It had the equivalent volume of a Greggs steak bake. Wish I had one of those instead. Spicy mash: wasn't spicy. Was dry, grainy, almost resembled the top of an apple crumble. Oh for cream, or butter! The two scoops were minuscule. You’re talking the size of a Ferro Rocher.Décor: Drab. Magnolia walls, and prosaic furniture exposed by over bright lighting.Noteworthy occurrence: Our party of hearty, innocuous laughter and conversation were requested by a waiter to be quieter at the request of a customer.Worth a second visit? Don't know why others are saying chicken and mushroom was good. It was spicy and I have no clue what they have done with the chicken 3 pcs at most. Had to order another to fill me up. Very disappointed. And it's mash not ice cream they scoop 2 small amounts. Being the only customer there with my child and wife the staff told me to be quiet because other customers getting headache. I mean come on. PIE Factory, you had one job! I've had better pie in my GCSE Maths exam, which I got a C in.Spiced Mash Potato - Was really looking forward to this, but the portion size was incredibly small (think two small scoops of ice cream) and the mash itself was dry and bland. We got a seat immediately but there was only one other set of customers aside from ourselves (Wednesday evening).Service - This really soured the meal. We did not feel like we could take our time, and felt like naughty school kids being scolded by the teacher with stern looks. Value - The prices are, in isolation, very reasonable, but when you compare them against what you get for those prices... I can't hand on heart say it was good value and I'm going to have to mark it down for that. I'd rather have paid double for tasty food and better service.I've seen one or two other reviews say that this is the best pie and mash in London. Nice wait staff, convenient location across street from the Ibis budget hotel. Food was decent, nothing special but not bad. Enjoyed their chocolate cake!

We tried the chicken and mushroom pie and steak and mushroom pie meal .Both were packed with flavour, not too wet or dry and the pastry was perfect! Spicy mash was delicious and so were the wedges. We will be going back to try the rest of the food .Average meal costs under 7 pounds! A Bargain, definitely a little British gem that caters for Muslims and non Muslims . The venue was clean, speedy service and friendly staff.

Food wasnt upto my standard. Looked really nice on pics but to be honest couldve made the same maybe better at home. My daughter ordered two things both they didnt have. She ended up just ordering sides which she didnt like at all. Mushy peas was tasteless cheap stuff. Place is small. Also we waited half an hour till we got a seat was really disappointed.

Ran in the other Monday lunch time. I had two meals to take home to Southampton. I was greeted by friendly smiley faces. The Restaurant was clean and tidy. The Food Was Excellent. It is a halal pie shop. Each pie comes with two sides and the food is good. We had the Chicken and Mushroom Pie, and Steak and Mushroom pie. Small restaurant, decent sized portions, good staffs and would recommend.

Pros: Pies are creamy and crisp, the pastry is well made and the various fillings are full of flavour. Service is good, waiters are nice. No loud music which is a plus, the place was refurbished recently so it looks a lot cleaner and stylish. Price is also affordable, a pie and two sides is great.Cons: Lacking a variety of sides, most of them are made of potato. The time it took for a waiter to come and take our order was very long, however the food did arrive relatively quickly. I once found a few hairs in one of my sides which was extremely off-putting, however I've been a few times since and haven't had the same experience.

This place is my 'go-to' for halal pies. I've been here a few times and tried the shepherd's pie and chicken and mushroom pie. All very nice, and the prices are reasonable too. Definitely not gourmet, but satisfied the cravings. :)

I hadn't had a pie fr ages. So I was so looking forward to it. It was delicious I bought ta steak n mushroom & my husband bought ta chicken tikka. Thy both Wr delicious. I'm sure to go thr again.

Not a great experience. Whilst i was there there was a number of complains from other tables on how cold the food was and also the poor attention to what was actually ordered. Waiting time was far too long and when the food came it was disappointing. The steak and mushroom pie did not seem to have steak but just lamb pieces and the veg seemed not very fresh and there was also a waiter standing around which made it quite uncomfortable to eat. Also, as soon as a member of your table has finished eating a waiter seemed impatient to clear it away amidst your conversation and whilst others on the same table are still eating which i found was quite rude.Mediocre food.. not worth the price or the wait.

Was super excited to know there is a halal restaurant that serves freshly baked pies!! Wasn't keen on the area but as I was visiting family I took the opportunity to visit. From the photos the food looked nice and I presumed the place would be bigger but it's like a small cafe. Restaurant lacked spark, atmosphere and seriously needs a make over. The staff are not 100% but they tried. Didn't like the fact we were told to move, just in case they got busy and they weren't even that busy. Food was OK. I had the chicken and mushroom it was bland. Mash and gravy was nice. Husband had steak pie he said was nice. We ordered some chicken wings and potato wedges for a starter which was disgusting! It tasted like it was 2 days old. Will never forget that taste. Overall it's worth a visit but I won't be eating there again. Sorry.

Pass by for something quick. We ordered one pie and one chicken, was told it would take 15 min... After 20 min we got our drinks, and after another 20 min we got told that they did not have any chicken. So there we was after 40 min and still no food. We agreed to swap the chicken for another pie. And waited another 5 min. The food was very nice, but the service did not exist.

The food in Pie factory is good especially with the 'fusion' pies they offer such as the Chicken Tikka Masala pie! Eventhough it sounds weird the chicken was tender and there was a kick to the masala the crust of the pie remained crispy eventhough it was reheated in a microwave...The Pie is also accompanied with 2 sides which are given is very generous portions! I would highly recommend the spicy mash (which certainly lives up to its name) and the homemade potato wedges. The prices of the pies are extremely reasonable considering the amount of food they give. This restaurant in my opinion is a full 7/10!

This is a modern take on a British classic. Halal meat pies bring together an older British tradition with a newer one - halal food. Here you'll find chicken tikka pie and kofta pie, along with classics with chicken and mushroom pie and Shepherd's pie. You really can't go wrong - all are good. One caution - the spicy mash potatoes contain jalapenos and are really spicy.

Dropped in one Saturday for Lunch as all the traditional pies were on the menu and halal, decided to try the chicken and mushroom. I tried this place for the first time. Myself and my better half, wanted to try a breakfast place we hadnt eaten at before. Its on the main road so thought we shall give it a go. Upon entering, it was empty at 11.30am. I ordered a full English- which was not so full! It was a cheapish version of a full cooked English breakfast. Dreadful beans and toast. Value range most definitely. 1 sausage. No tomatos or mushrooms. No condiments on the tables. Disappointed further when i had to ask for my tea as it still hadnt arrived after eating. My husband chose the indian breakfast. What he imagined and what he got was miles apart. Mince meat that looked re-fried to death. Shop bought paratha and an omlette my daughter could put together. (She is 6) If the food wasnt a bad enough experience the WC was awful too. I couldnt find the light switch and had to fumble around using my phone to locate it. It was like using an actual closet to plonk your toilet in. I guess thats what an actual WC is lol Oh dear. We shall never return. Money gone to waste but more importantly an hour of my time wasted in this eatery. I really hope the owners make some drastic changes. The menu did look promising but the exectution of the dishes ... well

I heard good things about this place so i decided to visit it. The food was amazing!! My friend and I both had the chicken and mushroom pie, I highly recommend the place.

I hadn't been there for a for a while and had lunch there recently. The pies are lovely as they have always been. It's a nice place for lunch. Really convenient for me as it's very close to my work place. The pies are halal of course!

I remember going to Pie Factory when it was newly opened and getting popular. The food tasted great and I came again with family. After ages we went again and I'm shocked to see how the standards have dropped.At first the service was friendly as usual and the food took the same amount of time it used to take (around 20 mins) during a slightly busy time. However the food tasted terrible. I ordered lasagne and the meat tasted odd, my mum felt like it tasted like it had gone off! The masala wings also tasted old as well as the Mexican chicken wrap we tried. Honestly I was embarrassed at how bad the food was and for persuading my family to eat here that I didn't have the courage to complain to the staff, we just wanted to finish and leave. While we were leaving I saw a display near the front which had a tray of the lasagne I had, a bowl full of Mexican chicken and the masala wings. All were left there for display and uncovered and my guess is that the food is made days ahead and microwaved before serving.

Some work mates took me here six months ago. Then a week later, my sister told me she was going to take me to her favourite Pie house in Whitechapel. Yep, same place.Since then, it's been my regular as well, and I've brought a lot of friends with me. The staff are so friendly, I feel positively guilty for going anywhere else.

Quick and polite service, hot and tasty food. Reasonably priced, complete meals. Not much more to say!

First time visiting: I guess the only nice thing was pies, mash had no taste whatsoever. Not a lot of variety in the menu too, bit disappointed really.

Bought home a takeaway from here tonight. Sadly disappointed at what has become of their food as once upon a time I really enjoyed their stuff. Unfortunately I had chosen the spicy mash which has become a dry lump of potato coriander and chillie. Also overwhelming taste of oregano or thyme in the stake and mushroom pie. And I don't even know what to say of the lumpy/mushy peas I had. On the whole really disappointed that they let things slip. Can't say I'll return, which is a shame as its a great halal alternative to Square pie.

I had the chicken and mushroom pie. You can have two sides with it. I chose mushy peas and roasted veg. I also had onion gravy. Everything was superb its all halal too and good service.

One of my favourite pie places. Amazin food and desserts. Never had a problem and also the customer service is fantastic.

Nous voulions mangez le fameux English breakfast à Londres. La seul contrainte c'est que la viande soit Halal. Nous sommes allez dans ce restaurant suite au avis sur internet et nous avons pas été déçu du détour. Nous avons prix un excellent petit déjeuner très bon et très copieux. Je conseil bien évidement. Excellent rapport qualité prix.

This is one of my favorite places to visit. Whenever im in london I go out of my way to come here. There Chicken Tikka Pie is Amazing! have never really had bad food from here. Also there meat according to there menu is from HCM sources. It's just in front of The East London Masjid which has really nice facilities

I went to the pie factory with my wife for lunch,my wife been there before,it was my first time.there small selection of menu,restuarant is big.me n my wife had same food,we had shepard pie with vegetables.price bit expensive?it was ok for me but my wife didnt like it.very dissappointed.

Food was quite ok. The price makes up for it. The mash and gravy was nice. And roast veg was nice but bit cold. Pies were good I guess just ok. Customer service was great though.

I like this pie place. This is the only pie place in Whitechapel road. Local and convenient. The only bad thing about them is don't open early (not before 10 am) as I expect to have my breakfast earlier.

Dined here a few times. Quick service from friendly staff. Generous portions of veg and potatoes (mash or wedges). Always tastes good. Easy to get to by tube or bus.

This pie n mash wasn't bad, it was okay. Food was only £6 a head so I wasn't overly disappointed. The place was nice and the staff were friendly.

Service au top et petit déjeuner sympa nous étions 8 et ça n'a posé aucun problème... attention pour les amateurs de porc nous sommes dans un quartier musulman donc vous n'en trouverez pas à la carte ;-)

Eu e o meu esposo realmente gostamos da torta de carne que tivemos aqui. Eu achei o proprietário muito simpático. Fui meio com receio dos comentários negativos, porém me surpreendi com o sabor e o atendimento, vou voltar com certeza!!!

good to go with your wife. quick meal that fills the stomach. highly recommend the chicken mushroom pie.
