The upstairs bar and restaurant is a nice spot for a lunch, I've eaten there many times. Recently, I ordered a tempura battered fish burger which comes with potato wedge style chips. The bun was over-toasted and had a few bitter-tasting burnt patches but the rest was good. I think the portion sizes on chips are too high at the moment. They are nice but we left some and we saw plenty of other plates with leftover chips on them. My friend noted the dish would be better with half the chips swapped for a simple side salad. There were a lot of tables not being cleared when we arrived but we did hit the busiest time. I think after 9pm you need to have a cinema ticket or be a member to drink here. The cafe on the ground floor seems to have more food now - it had got a bit sparse during some parts of the Covid era. Beware of the occasional wobbly table. Spinning them around slightly may prevent wobble and associated coffee spill catastrophes. For the cinema, Screen 1 is one of the few great screens left in London, well worth a visit just for the Dolby ATMOS sound.

Don't expect too much. However, in the heart of London, 5 GBP for a salad (3 optional items) and vegan cakes with small money. A bit like a self-service place but worth for this small money for a small hunger.

Not good at all! My mother and I were the first to be seated and the last to be served. Ourselves and another table were completely ignored by all staff including the head waiter for 30minutes, when asked can we be served... No apology, no explanation and no sympathy that our relaxing afternoon tea is now a rushed 15minutes before the movie. I do understand waiting tables can be difficult, but a set afternoon tea and a simple tea and coffee request is all we asked for. When we finally got someone's attention we were asked "well what would you want.." I'm afraid once served it didn't get any better. The hot chocolate was a mound of powder, the sandwiches wet and unlike the rest of the tables we only recieved 2 scones, they all recieved 4. The restaurant was not full. If a waiter isn't present, the rest of the tables are given accordingly to manage service, not ignored. Waiting staff often walked around and didn't even turn to the tables. To make things worse, I witnessed one of the waiting staff removing an already touched afternoon tea set of cakes and sandwiches from one table to the next when a complaint was made. That is absolutly not acceptable for both hygiene reasons and common curtesy. The madness did not stop there, once entering the screen for Downton Abbey we were approached by two ladies who had been assigned the same seats as our own. I had booked my seats from the day they became avaliable and did not appreciate having to now worry I couldn't enjoy even the movie. let's just say, I won't be making a revisit.

We wanted a quick bite to eat before the film. We ordered some small plate dishes. After 25 minutes nothing had arrived so we asked a passing waitress who said she would check with the kitchen but then just cleared some tables and went off in the opposite direction. Eventually I approached the bar and the food came 5 minutes later. The food was disgusting. I had fried Halloumi with toasted sourdough and tomatoes. The Halloumi was horrible; covered in batter, reheated frozen (Aldi or Iceland?) , very greasy - you could squeeze it and oil just poured out. The sourdough may have been close to a toaster once, but not close enough. The tomatoes were good. We had to return our drinks as the glasses were very dirty. It took the bar staff some time to find clean ones. This place is an absolute disgrace. PictureHouse is a great cinema and this awful cafe/restaurant should be an embarrassment. But having complained to them already, I did not get a response that suggested they cared , or were going to change. As a member, I'm upset

I am not a member but after seeing a few films with my family here (one ok for my 16yo but not for my 11yo so my wife and I split up to see different films) and eating in the cafe I can see this is one of the most comfortable big spaces/movie houses in the West End. Great selection of films and it seems you can just hang out. As a member there are discounts and the members bar (which I toured) and roof terrace are IMHO better than joining some posh members-only club. You get the upside of being able to be around people who really just like to go to see good films.

There is something very attractive about this place. There is a cafe downstairs and a bar with restaurant upstairs. I didn’t read up the building origins but it feels like a converted factory and just that bit different and attractive. We opted for a light dinner. The look and the ambience are great, but many of the tables and chairs are not at an easy height to eat. There may well have been s lot of flavour in the oriental chicken, but it was so salty that it was difficult to tell. If they could up the Andy on the food quality this place has a usp. The choice of films wasn’t half bad either.

The 1st floor bar / restaurant is a busy place especially before movies. We had drinks and food. Getting a seat or table can be a bit challenging, but you have to persevere, and then its great. I had some drinks and food there. I thought the staff were fine, and I thought the food wasn't bad. Its not a celebrity silver service restaurant, but a restaurant in a cinema with a small kitchen and people coming and going all over the place for movies, quick drink inbetween etc, on dates etc, so you take it for what it is We had a bottle of wine, some soft drinks and some main courses. I thought the food here was fine, tasty and served on time and not particularly expensive. Grabbing a table or the right number of chairs can be a bit challenging and we were fine, but thats the nature of the beast, once you get one,I quite enjoyed the experience and the food.

Picturehouse Central is a beautiful building with lovely cafe, restaurant and bar spaces. I am a member and visit regularly but I'm constantly disappointed by the attitude and service from staff and by the flexible opening times. We visited the restaurant after a movie last night and ordered food at 8.45pm. The server was very surly and unfriendly and we then waited 45 minutes for the food when the menu clearly says to expect to wait for 20 minutes. For simple food in a not busy restaurant, that's too long to wait. Then 15 minutes after receiving our food a member of security came over to tell us we had 15 minutes to finish up as they were closing at 10.00pm (when I'd already checked and the website says last orders at 10.30pm). When I've just spend £30 on food and £30 on movie tickets, and I have a membership which costs £85 per year, I'd expect to be treated a bit better than this. Right now, I won't be bothering to renew my membership next year and I wouldn't recommend it.

My friend and I needed a place to meet in central so that we could spend a few relaxed hours planning a hen do. We ordered two avocado and eggs on toast, and then enquired about a bottle of prosecco to get in the hen do mood- well... the member of staff pulled a very judgemental face because we seemed to be the only ones in there not drinking coffee. We laughed along, paid the bill, and then they moved onto the next customer without cracking a smile. I had to interrupt and ask if we had a number we needed to take to our table so that they could find us. I was ignored twice until another member of staff pointed to the tray with the number for me to take. I had to lean across other customers in order to reach it because none of the staff were kind enough to pass it to me. We then sat down and waited for 15 minutes. Nothing came, not even the drink. I approached a member of staff who told me to go and ask the person who I ordered with because she was busy cleaning tables. Once I did so, they brought the bottle over with two wine glasses) and just dumped the bottle on the table, leaving us to have to open it ourselves! No ice bucket or cooler neither. Then when our food arrived they only brought one dish over as they hadn’t put the second order through. A shambles. And such a shame as I love the cinema there.

Where do I start? A group of clearly inexperienced staff - one of whom was rude to customers - trying to operate a busy ground floor cafe - and no sign of any manager. Running out of basic food items such as bacon and hot chocolate. Food arrived late and cold. Judging by the moaning from customers, we weren't the only people to have a poor experience. Welcome to the wonderful world of Picturehouse Central. There is a bustling cafe on the ground floor. I am a cake snob, so was quite shocked to discover that their macaroons rival any I've ever tasted and that their passionfruit meringue pie is delicious. Everything tastes so fresh. But don't eat in the cafe! Grab your food and head to the first floor bar - probably the nicest place to enjoy an afternoon in London. Sunny, comfy, bohemian looking, lively but uncrowded (you can always find a seat) - and then, why not go to the cinema? They always mix it up with some quirky classics. There is a gorgeous members bar - I am seriously tempted, because one of the barman got them to make me a drink in a quiet time, and it was the best passionfruit martini in the world. At the first floor bar, the drinks are more basic. The savoury food, again, is great - and cheap, and there is always a special going on! I love this place, I absolutely love it.

My husband and I have been members at this cinema since it opened and whilst it's a place we go often the management seems to be going downhill. One of the perks is the member's only bar with fabulous roof terrace. There have been a few problems at visits over the months, for example before xmas we arrived for a screening to find that the members bar was closed for a private function. There was no information about this when booking or apology, it was clearly just a cash grabbing exercise to get office party money at the expense of regular customers. After our last visit (Friday 13 Jan) to see La La Land we are considering not renewing our membership. On arrival the cinema was packed, understandably for a popular film newly released. We took our premium sofa seats in a completely sold out room. The sound quality for the trailers was fine but as the movie began it was clear that the sound was muffled. This being a musical that was kind of going to be a problem. After about 10 mins of no improvement people were beginning to get restless and leaving the room to find out what was happening, so I went out to be told that they were going to re-start the movie. No announcements were made though and after another 10 minutes they continued the screening with barely audible singing. Still no information so people began to leave in disbelief at the unprofessionalism. On the way out there was one member of staff who wasn't apologetic and clearly couldn't cope with the volume of complaints. We had to ask about a refund, it wasn't being offered automatically and then had to queue for 15 minutes to get it. The scene was chaos and at no point did a manager take control and come and make announcements or apologies to the crowd. The movie was sold out so we couldn't re-book for later meaning a ruined night. We asked about compensation and were given a paper complimentary ticket but told they couldn't re-book us for later in the week we had to ring!Everyone accepts technical difficulties happen but it's how you handle them that matters. The management of this cinema just didn't appear to give a damn and certainly didn't bother to come out of their office to display any customer care. The final sting in the tail is that when we rang the next day to book they told us it could only be done in person. Much improvement & staff training needed here.

I love this cinema, it is one of my favourite spots in London BUT since the cinema opened the staff in the cafe have become increasing lax and more arrogant. It's quite rare that I get a please or thank you, when asking for a toasted sandwich they have now forgotten to give it me once cooked on several occasions, when bringing food over they seem to do it reluctantly slamming food down with no 'enjoy' or 'thank you' and once or twice I've been summoned from my seat to get my food, which I don't mind but don't offer to bring it over in the first place!!As I've said, I adore this cinema but the cafe staff need some further training before you start to lose custom as it has gone downhill over the past months. Very much an adult environment, so its great for professional lunch meetings, coffee with friends or a casual lunch after a film. The food everyone has ordered whom I've eaten there with has looked and tasted fantastic. The chorizo flat bread was amazing and the seared tuna with papaya was so fresh! The only thing I've had there that wasn't excellent was the courgette flat bread that I once had. It was delicious but far too salty so I couldn't finish it. The staff are friendly and helpful without over doing it and the cinemas are clean and well kept. My only advice is to take a jumper with you. Every time I've been it has been like the artic in their screens, like the AC is on full blast. Discovered the Picturehouse through actor friend, Greg Haiste, who'd just performed brilliantly in Nell Gywn at The Apollo Theatre across the road - thanks Greg, as will be back here for lunch and a drink, next time am in London as a tourist, and my sister will too, with the family, to see a movie (she lives there). We would have missed this, as from the outside it might appear as simply being a packed out tourist joint, as its right on the busy Piccadilly corner, but once inside it is a bit of a tardis, with a spacious downstairs cafe seating area with reasonably priced goods; upstairs there's a beautifully decorated spacious bar and apparently a roof terrace with views of London (we heard this after we'd left!). Service not the best but fine by London standards. The ladies loo was a find as the wall decor was made up of amazing drawings of human heads -plus, cleanest toilets been in over whole weekend, even though latrines a bit high for small folks!? Cafe worth a visit even if only as a pitstop!

Found this coffee stop by chance and what a find. So different to the big chains, plenty of room between tables so you are not sitting on top of each other. No standing at the counter waiting for your coffee they brought it over. Mabye when it gets busy might be different but we thought it was excellent though

Had an unexpectedly amazing lunch here in this cinema. The ground floor is a large cafe serving artisan cakes :) Unexpectedly nice and reasonably priced in the heart of Piccadilly. Just came across it next to the Rainforest Cafe and it truly was fab. Ham and Cheese toasties were amazing.Thank you so much picturehouse :D

I have been here a few times and today was really not worth it :-( Unfocused slapdash service. Not really interested In serving customers just running around dropping everything they touched. Latte like warm cake not badNo need for the rushed service I was the only customer :-(Disappointed today was hoping for a nice experience but sadly not. I shall move on to other places who care.

Are members of Picturehouse at Media Museum in Bradford. They took over the running after fell on hard times/put out to tender for outsourcing. Before films always have Picturehouse self-promo add that showcases what appears quirky settings for cinemas. Anyway, in London for a short break and noticed that Brooklyn was on at Picturehouse Central - for old i.e. retired members only £8 each. Found cinema just before Piccadilly Circus and the café downstairs was hummimg. Having booked tickets, duly had snack. Went into Screen 6, of 7. Quite small auditorium but large screen, fabulously comfy seats with massive leg room. Film vg also. Cannot wait to go back

Can't get enough of this amazing cinema! I go there every other week to watch something and keep bringing more people to it to show off! The staff are lovely, the wine is great, I love the vintage feel mixed with an edgy pieces around the place. The lighting as you walk up the stairs is my favourite! It's a bit expensive to see some of the films but you can find the cheaper days online. Can't wait to go back!

Six of us lunched here one Saturday. I'd never come across it before, and I would n't normally eat this close to Piccadilly Circus but it was raining so we dived in. Good choice. The food is typical good coffe shop/cafe food; salads, pies, cakes, scotch eggs (good). Decent coffee. Jugs of water provided. Self service is friendly and efficient (some of the staff are more efficient than there, but it's cheerful and good enough). Good value, especially for the area. The decor is stylish without being too silly.

Great place to perch before your movie. We loved the layout of the bar/dining area, but the food was nothing to write home about. Ordered the flatbread with hummus & courgette- it was more like a prefab-pizza disc (with holes pokes in) that had pesto & hummus and thin courgette randomly smeared across it. Not very flavorful (and they didn't bother to cut it). The arrancini did not have much in the way of meat filling and were unremarkable. It also can be tricky to get your bill paid as you're trying to get to your film...but the servers are nice, and I do appreciate that you can bring your drinks into the theater. Would return, despite the food.

Nice trendy bar and restaurant. Great atmosphere and really chilled out. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it was easy to get a table and the bar staff were friendly. Oh there it is a cinema too! Come and dine, drink and see films too.

Chasing up a movie that we had missed at our local boring cinema, we saw it listed at Picturehouse Central. New to us, we decided to hop on the tube to Piccadilly Circus. The cinema 'complex' is on the lower half of Great Windmill street - the small cut-through to Coventry St. What a surprise. The moment one enters the delightful warm and welcoming foyer, it is bustling with people choosing delicious-looking home made food at reasonable prices. The lighting and decor is reminiscent of times gone by, but with a modern twist. There are 7 screens on about three floors. On the top floor is an outside area looking out onto the Haymarket and across to Piccadilly. We had a squizz. A wonderful view. This is the members' area, with a private bar...cosy with window seats. We have made a note to join later in the year, as one also benefits from 4 free tickets per year, and a % off other tickets.( I sound as if I work for the Company but I dont!!)The staff are lovely, and the whole experience we thought would be great for a couple's first date.

I had been to Picturehouses before, but this one was to be different. As I removed my cloak and settled in for the long-sleep I noticed that one of the apertures in the fabric had come un-seamed.But didn't we chortle heartily at the nascent verisimilitude opening before one?Anyway, meanwhile (what a useful word!) things transpired, bills were paid, accounts were closed and we all rolled merrily along. As the Interceptirs scorched the heavy air with their afterburners.

Visited this ground floor café on a frantic Saturday in December. It was so peaceful and pleasant - an absolute relief from the chaos that was central London at the time. The food offer was outstanding with excellent coffee to match. There is a huge range of hot and cold food, pastries and confectionery delights - plenty to tempt you. The service is also very good - smiley engaging staff. It may be a little hidden away near the Trocadero - but worth seeking out.

I love the Picturehouse chain, but there have been many teething problems. The members bar has been closed for private functions on two of the occasions I visited. Building works as part of the renovations cause noise and vibrations in the cinema which is distracting when you are watching a film. Draught beer has been off for at least 3 weeks! But it is a beautiful space, centrally located with great potential. Just hope they can smooth out the problems soon,

This is taking cinema to a new level by integrating a bar and café into it, there is no longer the sweet sickening smell of candy but instead clean cinemas with reclining chairs. One of the best places to catch a film in London.

I really love the picture house cinemas. My boyfriend and me really enjoy going to the cinema , and we have visited picture house central and Ritzy in Brixton which is the same group. They have a completely different vibe than other cinemas, it feels kind of ''homey'' and warm. We were watching steve jobs and decided to try the restaurant.Quick service, clean taste and beautiful setting. Perfect for a quick dinner before the cinema.

The screen and sound are excellent, as are the soft, inclining seats. The building its self is bedlam. Badly signed, no info which screen your film is on, needless queues everywhere for no good reason. The cinema is nice, but try to go when it's quite to really get to appreciate the place.

I was looking forward to trying out the restaurant at the new Picturehouse Central. We opted for burgers as a good test. In a restaurant there are two areas, for me. Food and comfort. Here goes:Comfort: Appalling. All the chairs in the restaurant are really low. A nightmare for the tall or those with disabilities. You end up hunching over the tables to eat. Clearly no thought given to those with mobility issues. Really quite poor.Food: When oh when will the brioche bun end? Massive - I couldn't fit the burger in my mouth. Had to remove the top layer of bun. It was served maybe just 'medium'. It was cool. The chips, on the other hand, were hot and really, really delicious. Served on a board. Why? You're serving a burger medium, so dripping juices, on grease proof paper on a board. Centuries of evolution led us to plates for a reason. The potential is for this to be a great central location but it's style over substance at present. A shame.

Bit of a strange one really. I'm a founder member here and the place looks great. However they had a security guard on the door who thinks he runs the place. It really was bizarre. The food wasn't great either. Real great potential but needs execution.

This is my favorite hangout place in London. I am a filmmaker and that's probably why. However this is a great place for anyone that need to kill an hour or so around Piccadilly circus. The cafe` is huge and you don't necessarily need to order as it also function as a waiting area for the cinema. The food served is decent but ridiculously pricey. Sometimes you pay for the food and like in this case sometime you pay for the location. As said I mostly love this place because is the ideal hangout area for people that like movies and would like a place where they can seat and chat before and after watching a film.1 mark down because it's way too expensive.

Après une séance de ciné très agréable nous avons diné sur place. Le cadre est superbe mais hélas il n'y que ça de bien. Tout était très moyen. Bref il est préférable d'y aller juste pour voir un film.

I love this cinema, it has been so beautifully refurbished, the bar and cafe look fabulous too. However the food was pricey and disappointing. I had I lovely looking savoury muffin that was dry as old boots. My friend had a frittata that had egg shell in it. We complained and were refunded and able to change our order for something else. I opted for salad which was fine. My Flat White was served in a glass so looked more like a latte. It was OK but not the best. The cinema is super comfortable and shows a great selection of films, not just blockbusters but without membership it is pricy too, £18!!!

When this new location of the Picturehouse opened in Soho (I was already a member of the Picturehouse), i decided to check It out. The upper bar / brasserie has a nice contemporary but warm decor. They have an extensive gin tonic menu which was a happy surprise as its was good summers day. An unhappy surprise is that you apparently need to have a cinema ticket for that day to be able to order alcohol - or to use any of the member facilities such as the members bar or roof terrace. That's a real shame because although the food was really good, it might choose a different location for a late lunch with a drink if I'm not sure if I want to go to the cinema yet.

The new Picturehouse Cinema complex at Piccadilly Circus shows films of course in a new very comfortable seven screen multiplex but it also has a restaurant and café open to the public. I ate in the café with friends in the first week it was open and found it excellent value, with a range of cakes, rolls etc that made it such a breath of fresh air in an area dominated by the big chains.

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.

It all looks OK but service is poor and the bar food served is cheap frozen food at prices that should require a far better quality. There are far better options in London

Fui a desayunar. Mucho a mucho. Este lugar no es para mi. Buen café sin embargo.
