PICNIC Smithdown in Liverpool

Ordered multiple times from here and each occasion the food arrives late - regularly in excess of 45 mins late. This latest occasion it was almost an hour and the Original Bowl had clearly been sitting in its cardboard packaging for a long time. So-much-so, the food fell through its soaking wet bowl. Both the food presentation and customer service are a mess.

Only ordered for delivery so far (many times), but looking forward to visiting. The salt and pepper wrap and salt and pepper chips are my go to, and never ever disappoint. Delivery is always so speedy and order is never wrong!

Drove 30 min round trip, Ordered a chicken power bowl, unfortunately came with no chicken, even the rest of the bowl wasn’t the same I have ordered the same order numerous times and this was by far the worst I’ve had, couldn't offer delivery so ended up with a refund, staff were apologetic and issued a refund, but still no food.

Really fresh and good quality ingredients, good pricing and staff were lovely- really impressed with taste of food and presentation. Had salt and pepper halloumi pasta and katsu loaded fries which were homemade- had to take some away in a take away box couldn’t leave any!

Hi guys, The review is genuine, but just to answer your question here. It took a good while to get two of the shakes made up, and you didn't have any fruit to make the ones I wanted. Shakes were okay.

Received the wrong order on Deliveroo and Picnic showed amazing customer service, re-delivering the right order without any fuss. Food was tasty as always. Thank you!

First time visiting - food was good and only let down by the service. Ordered two very simple meals which looked popular choices, then sat and waited as 2 orders placed after mine were prepared and taken away along with a further 2 online orders....my order was sat at the pass and hadn't been given to the chef. Wouldn't have taken a refund or a freebie if it was offered but would have accepted an apology.

Food was ready for me on the appointed time I ordered it for. The food was made perfectly without any flaws. I'd be happy to eat again from here.

I ordered food and honestly the special sauce pasta was lovely although the superfood stir fry wasn’t the same , I had no chickpeas and rarely any veg it was all mostly noodles and they weren’t even rice noodles + barely any avocado. In the past it was amazing I just don’t know what happened this time , different chef?.

Usually love ordering from here but I ordered the southwest burger which is said to come with hummous, guac, halloumi, tomato and onion and it didn’t come with any of these things, it was literally just the patty with some lettuce, cheese and sauce

The spicy chick pea wrap was really tasty and had just the right amount of seasoning. Would recommend trying the fresh juices, too.

We ordered a delivery. Turned up about 1hr early rather than in the slot we requested. My food was great, but my wife's was cold.

Love this place - so good for a healthy dinner, a quick easy bite after yoga or a gym class or just after a long day when you can't be bothered to cook for yourself. Lovely staff, affordable prices and quality tasty, healthy food - a regular for me. My son loves the burgers and fries, I love all the poke bowls and to be fair will happily eat anything off the menu. Must visit

Amazing food, it is always top notch. The delivery can take a long time, we have waited over an hour & 1/4 the last 2 weeks.

Reasonably priced, healthier fast food. Portions were a good size. Everything was tasty and fresh. Good, quick service.

We ordered a breakfast. They forgot the order, and by the time they realised breakfast was finished. We ordered a wrap which was nothing special. There’s no toilet or anywhere to wash your hands and the place feels cramped. Might be ok for a takeaway but I’d never sit in there again. Teapots were dirty also

Had food delivered and sat in. The food is so fresh and full of flavour. Venue is small but decorated lovely and very clean

4 items missing of our order and when in contact with staff at picnic we was not helped at all and spoke to rudely , we was told to re order using app and pay for our order again ( bear in mind cost of living crisis going on) . Terrible customer service and zero to little help with our problem , was looking forward to a Saturday night treat whilst watching the game . Disappointed to say the least

Recently discovered picnic and the food is so fresh and amazing, perfect for eating healthy after a workout

Ordered a takeaway from Picnic. Our order was a chicken burrito, halloumi burrito and a power bowl with falafel extra on the side. The order was over an hour late, there was no falafel on the power salad. The burrito labelled halloumi was actually chicken, therefore resulting in a vegetarian eating chicken…, this was extremely upsetting as you can imagine. This is our second bad experience with this place and will definitely not be going again and do not recommend to anyone.

I always order from Picnic for delivery the food is always lovely and fresh and good portion sizes for very reasonable prices. Lots of different choices and a variety of healthy options.

Wow … such amazing food. I’ve been twice now and can’t wait to return to try something different, so far I’ve had a poke bowl with grilled chicken, and today a Heaven Wrap again with grilled chicken. Both were absolutely delicious.

I got kale and banana protein shake. Staff was very friendly and knew menu inside out. I'll be back for more food.

Ordered on deliveroo, 30 minute delivery was claimed. 110 minutes later and after 30 minutes trying to get hold of them by telephone, I was greeted by a rude young lad telling me the order had been sent without even checking the order number then hung up on me, pathetic and not the first time

Nice small place for a quick bite in a convenient location. The food is made with care and tastes good, vegetarian options available, and different price ranges too. Staff very quick and efficient even during very busy hours. The only thing is that the last time I went the music in the background was so loud it was hard to have a conversation, if you go there to chat with a friend while eating something light. Other than that, no issues at all!

Had a shocking experience a few weeks back - have been several times as it's local and besides the food being hit and miss I still return. I ordered off uber eats for pickup around 6.30 and got the notification saying the food was ready about 6.55 I think so I went down and watched and waited while several orders who arrived after me picked up (which I assumed had ordered before me) but watched as people walked in off the street (full tables of people) and recieve their orders freshly made infront of me while I still waited for 2 wraps and chips without even any meat to cook in them - felt bad for the lads on the counter as they looked embarassed that I was still waiting there past half 7 and they told the cooks i'd arrived when I arrived too but for some reason my ticket got back to the back of the que. I was pretty annoyed to be honest but the food was the nail in the coffin - definetely the worst batch i'd had from there and I think if you can't keep up with the demand you should lock down any apps, as a slip in quality is highly detrimental to a business with potential like picnic - I won't be going back after this and am offering 2 stars for the previous orders. - Editing that I had a positive response from the owner via email and was happy with the outcome and have since been back and had a good experience with the food.

Ordered for collection food was really tasty

We order from picnic regularly and although I can’t fault the food the service definitely needs improvement. We always order to pick up, arrive on time and are always left waiting at least 20 minutes for the food to be ready. Hopefully, this will improve when the west derby store opens 🤞🏼 or we may have to find somewhere else! Side note - although not a direct review of picnic, the parking outside is terrible.

Consistently high standards! Staff are friendly and genuine and the food is fresh and delicious. There needs to be more places like this around!

I used to order here all the time, and then was told they stopped doing the quinoa patty option on meals. They advised it has come back onto the menu so I ordered last night. I was disappointed to find the quinoa patty is now only available in a burger and not in wraps again. But to be honest, the patty was that bland and subpar to the previous, I wouldn't order it again.

Drinks order was missed, large chunks of onion in the burger I ordered and the corn on the cob was stone cold on arrival despite the fact we live less than two minutes away. Really disappointing and wouldn’t go back.

This is the second time I've been to PICNIC and had take out on both occasions. The food is amazing. Value for money, quality ingredients and tastes incredible. The only issue I have is the service. Both occasions I pre ordered online. When arriving at PICNIC on time for collection, have had to wait an extra 30 minutes for food on both occasions. PICNIC is obviously incredibly popular and I think a bigger premises is probably required to cope with demand. In the mean time, a delay on orders would be helpful to stop hanging around and/or allow people to go elsewhere If they don't want to wait.

Best food in Liverpool as always !!

Gorgeous food and value for money, normally only get the wrap, but tried the pasta for lunch.....superb. Lady on the counter was really helpful, place was immaculate, not the biggest but got a nice spec by the door and tucked in. Little put off getting a smoothie with the price, but all in all I highly recommend it.

Ordered through the app, thought it would be busy, turned up 10 mins after it said so I didn't have to wait. The staff hadn't picked up the order and started it when we got there. Then I took the order to the car, sparkling water was still water, the coffee shake was made 10 minutes after the food order. Except for the smoothie being warm, not sure if supposed to be made with ice. Food was great as normal though. Thanks

Every time I order delivery it is late or they get the order wrong. This was no exception, it took an hour and a half to arrive but the app said it would be 45 mins. I would’ve ordered elsewhere if they told me the real delivery wait time. When I called they told me it had just left which they always do but the food arrived warm 30 mins later. I live a short drive away. Disappointing because the food is great.

I came in on Friday for breakfast with my sister and it was just a little disappointing (having had other meals from here knowing how nice it is). The staff are great and really friendly but we waited 40mins for avo and eggs on toast, meanwhile delivery drivers were coming and going by the minute. I understand it’s a lot to keep up with online orders etc but I thought that was a bit excessive. The two people who ordered before us seemed to get their order quickly so I’m not quite sure what happened. I also wouldn’t have minded waiting if I feel the quality of the food was there. One of my eggs had no yolk, I had one cherry tomato and the avo was non existent. Don’t get me wrong, it was extremely tasty but it was just a bit of a let down for £8 (plus £1.50 extra for a sprinkling of feta). I would have said something at the time but we were in a rush at that point (and starving 🤣) as I’d rather give any criticism there and then to give a chance to correct and wouldn’t have had time to wait for another one 😞

Usually love this place.. but today I bought a Power Bowl for lunch at work and found a few - what apoear to be stones/gravel (hopefully nothing harmful and they just didnt wash the salad or rice)

Lunch time offers are really good value. Rice boxes are the best.

Feels like somewhere with potential but it was let down by the extreme amounts of just eat and deliveroo drivers. Staff struggled to keep up. They were unfriendly and serving people drinks that came in well after us. We ended up with our coffees after we had finished our breakfast. It's a shame because the food was delicious.

I was looking forward to this lunch, I’d heard good feedback. I collected my food and took it home to eat, I was very disappointed. I got the original bowl with Halloumi & Falafel, I’d paid an extra £1.50 for avocado and I received 4 thinly shaved pieces of avocado which was soft and brown it was not even 1/4 of an avocado. There was hardly any couscous, the lettuce was soggy as though it was on the turn as was the tomato, so for the cost (almost £11) I feel the bowl was a complete disappointment. The similar type of bowl in a supermarket is better quality for less than half the price. I won’t be returning and I won’t be recommending

The salt and pepper chips were nice. But the wrap was tasteless. I had a falafel hell wrap, couldn’t taste a thing.

Fast delivery and amazing food !! Food arrived hot and was super tasty, one of the best vegan burgers we’ve had in a long time. Will definitely be ordering again. Great vegan options, would definitely recommend.

Our go to place when looking for some healthier food. Always lovely food and service. Poppy is always so helpful and friendly.

Foods as always amazing, but the problem with these posh healthy lets be honest with ourselves cafes is that they price themselves in the firing line of proper restaurants. Once you add your sides and things that come as standard in proper restaurants your paying 12,13,£14 per meal and either way you look at it that’s proper restaurant prices and this isn’t a restaurant as you wouldn’t get dolled up to go on a night out here. Food is amazing but totally out of price for a cafe sorry restaurant and this is why I’ll never go back again sick of all these food places that have a price for a meal then everything you would like on that meal you have to pay extra till your meal in a cafe comes to £15 rant done.

First time trying but was soooooo good can't wait to go back. Both had rice box meals for £7.50 (including a drink). Everything was fresh and tasted lovely add to this friendly service, clean seating area and quick service and u have an excellent place for food. I can't see this staying where it is as I am sure a bigger venue will be needed as more people try.
