A great family run business and a fantastic place to eat. I love the deli counter and fresh produce. Highly recommended 💜

Menu portions have definitely got snaller since the family left the kitchen to take on Paseo. Shop prices have also gone up.

We were walking around Ryde and fancied some lunch, and happened across this deli. Nice atmosphere and friendly welcome. Good choice of food, we had the Ploughman’s and soup of the day. Soup declared delicious as was the Ploughman’s that was made up of carved ham, chunk of cheddar, fresh salad and local pickle with sour dough bread. Filling and enjoyable my only gripe was the cold butter portions (hard to spread) and service on a wooden block that saw bits of my food fall off!! Would definitely return if in the area.

Amazing choices of cheeses and deli items on toasted sourdough. And nearly everything on the menu also available gluten free. A great lunch - superior goat's cheese on toast heaven.

Found this deli/cafe on a rainy day. Great deli smell and great food. Only wanted something light so ordered 2 toasted sandwiches. Great taste and great portions (bigger than expected). Definitely recommend.

Pickle and Dill is fantastic! Service is always friendly, food is delicious. Breakfast choices are not run of the mill, for example sourdough toast topped with smashed avocado, tomatoes and feta made amazing by a superb dressing. Their lunchtime toasted sourdough sandwiches are the best I’ve ever tried. To finish off the cake selection is varied, unusual and changes with the seasons.

Excellent meal. The French onion soup was absolutely delicious . I had the mezze, which couldn't have been better, and my husband a toasted sourdough gammon and cheese sandwich. Very good service. So glad we found this interesting delicatessen. Bought very unusual peanut butter with salt and black pepper in, and great sauerkraut. So glad the other place we had intended to go, with good reviews was too full... I am sure this freshly prepared food was a lot better.

This place just lacks customer service. Such a shame as the menu and the deli are both great. This is the third time we have been treated with absolute indifference and been unable to buy anything. Harvey Browns wins by a mile!

First time of visiting here even though I live locally. What a lovely place. The food was gorgeous I had sourdough toast with avocado, egg & crispy bacon. Coffee was great. Staff were very friendly. There’s lots of local produce available to buy & whilst it was busy, didn’t affect the ambience. If you haven’t been, you need to go!!

We had most of the tapas menu just no fish dishes (not to my liking). All of the dishes were so tasty from the whipped feta, fresh either lemon juice, to the harissa stew. Well done Bob and Nicci and of course the ever effervescent host Dani. Very reasonable too, coming in at just over £80 , including two bottles of wine and a bottle of sparkling water. We will be back!

And delights they were - beautifully put together assemblage, made with delicious bread. Who needs vast quantities when quality is this good?! Our original plan to go to Osborne House was scuppered as it’s only open at weekends in January, so we ended up in Ryde. After walking round, we happened upon Pickle and Dill and had a really lovely lunch, mine was washed down with an excellent Portuguese wine. The menu was very eclectic and my husband raved about the “kim-cheese” toastie. I was more than satisfied with the mezze lunch which was adapted for me due to a tooth playing up, making crunchy food difficult to eat. Excellent service and excellent food quality. The tables are set in a lovely delicatessen setting, which gives added atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Being a local I did not stay at the hotel but I thought I'd try the food as eating out in Newport is limited to say the least (unless you like pizza/pasta, there are at least 4 of these). I fancied traditional pub food which today is a scarce as all the pubs seem to be in the Gordon Ramsey mode, posh food, very little of it and expensive. The Wheatsheaf’s menu included real pub classics including Steak and Ale pie, Pork Belly, Steak and Chips, Lamb Shank to name a few. For starter’s I opted for the chilli prawns, a generous portion, cooked perfect and presented shell off which saves all that peeling and messy fingers! Starters are all priced at £5.00. I followed this with a perfectly cooked 8oz sirloin steak (med-rare) with lovely crispy chips and a blue cheese sauce accompanied by a nice crisp fresh salad, (which was not just a bowl of leaves like in most places). Although the chips were frozen they were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect, I almost mistook them for the latest fad (3 times cooked chips). The chef must have a trick up his sleeve. The steak was cooked perfect. A field mushroom would have been a nice touch. Here's the good bit, all main dishes are only £10, if you fancy steak you do pay a £4.00 supplement which is fair. Even though I was stuffed I could not resist the homemade Rhubarb Crumble with cream. I managed to eat ¾ of it. Again, all the desserts were priced at £5.00. All I can say is although this pub has had a bad reputation for food in the past this is certainly not the case now, it’s really worth giving it a try.
