Went to the phoenix pub for coffee with friends, it was very nice and half the cost. Will be going back and maybe have a meal next time.

Called in for Sunday lunch three weeks back. Excellent food and attentive and friendly staff. Best Sunday lunch in Cramlington by my reckoning.

I thought i would write a review since the last 1 was months ago. I went with a friend at lunch time. This food was lovely. I had corndbeef pie homemade chips and gravey and it was lovely. Big board of homemade food options that change daily. I went the next week with me family 2 kids 2 adults i chose somthing differnt. Chicken burger and homemade chips and garlic mayo. Was agian absolutly lovely! My partner had beef roast dinna on a sat. Was lovely. Beef was amazing sooo soft it was falling to bits. Kids chicken nuggets and homemade chips and peas. Chicken nuggets were proper chunks of chicken. Deffo we will be back. All meals £5.50 kids were cheeper. Plus they say kids can have half portion of any meal. Its a new chef and owners. Very nice food ! Would recomend it

Visited here for the first time, wasn’t impressed. Considering there was families in there with young kids ( including us ) none of the bar staff seemed bothered about other drinkers swearing their heads off. One particular ‘woman’ was graced with a lovely mouth and tone - f**k this and f**k that constantly. We ordered then waited, and waited and waited. Other tables who ordered after us got served first. In the end we asked for our money back and left. Don’t bother going here, the place is a joke.

First time I have been back in a few years and the pub looks exactly the same. It’s in desperate need of refurbishment. The staff are really lovely and it seems clean but the brickwork is old and grimy. The outside seating area is covered in cigarette ends, probably because the plant pots being used as ashtrays are either overflowing or upended. We ordered food. The fish was beautiful but the chips were burned, black burned not just over cooked perhaps reheating from the previous day. The cheese pie, again was over cooked on the crust but the filling was lovely, but yet again served with burned chips. We should have sent back and complained but didn’t want a fuss. We ended up leaving the chips to be honest and leaving still hungry. Hugely disappointed as I’d seen the sign ‘home cooked food’ and we’d been really looking forward to our lunch.

The manager of this pub in the past was a truly awful character who often gave me daggers as he passed which eventually put me off going, I had tolerated the customer's foul language and the odd hair in the food out of some mistaken loyalty to a local business. After several years and seeing the pub was under new management I thought I would try the place again, I have to agree with another reviewer, the barmaid with the fake nails has a bit of an attitude on her and barely speaks.... unless it is to whoever she knows who is propping up the bar. She has no interest in customers, that was apparent as she stood with her back to me until her mate indicated I was there. She seemed put out at having to bring my food over and had previously almost chucked my change into my hand. The place has the kind of atmosphere that left me itching to get out of it and it needs a good Spring clean too. I have to write that the food was nice enough but I want to feel welcomed when I go to a pub and given friendly service, unless you personally know this particular member of staff, forget it is my experience.

We popped into the pub for some lunch after swimming, it seemed ideal as it was so close to the sports centre. I wish we had of gone somewhere further a field. We arrived and the bar woman was very hostile and a little bit snappy, she clearly hadn’t been doing that job very long. She had awful acrylic nails on too which if I’m not mistake is a hazard when working with food! After this we waited a while for our food and then the bar maid came with the food. She then proceeded to lean over my food to put the other plate down and her hair went through my food leaving a hair in my actual food. My mum had also ordered food and when she was about to bite into it there was a hair wrapped around the lettuce. I sent the food back and asked for a refund. The atmosphere was awful. It was almost as though some random people were using the pub as hangout rather than a business. Wouldn’t dare Step foot back in that pub. After I complained I had the pleasure of listening to the bar maid arguing with the chef about the poor quality of food. They clearly have no respect for there customers. The side glances from the staff were also very off putting. Sad food, that was dry and horrible.

Not been in the Phoenix for over ten years and went in for Sunday dinner. Won't be leaving it another ten as it was amazing. I had beef wife had pork. Both served fresh and piping hot and very quick. Dessert was amazing and the overall cost very reasonable. The new management are clearly doing something right. I will be back.

New management in the Phoenix, live bands , cheap drinks , very popular with the locals. If u like good old fashioned pub grub give it a try u will love it

Amazing food got the black pudding and blue cheese burger gorgeous fresh food and amazing chunky chips you can't beat it for value!!! Squid starter was a delight definitely be back

Yet another fantastic meal and drink had the other day, opted for chilli nachos this time as well as squid, again was absolutely perfect! My friend had the 3 course meal for £5.95, opted for skins, pizza and ice cream, she enjoyed it so much so she's asking when we are going again already!

Me and my pal went for lunch. The toilet would not flush and a soap dispenser broke. I had mice and dumplings and it was horrid,dumpling was solid and tasted plastics and frozen and the mince and potatoes did not taste nice. A couple on the table next to us had the same and they complained. My pal got lasagne and chips and some of her chips were frozen. We were disappointed. Also we felt sick for ages afterwards and had heartburn although we did not each much of it

Last place I would have considered for Sunday lunch but was recommended by a friend. They provide a small or large lunch, which doesn't make your plate piled full with food, like other places. The carvery was sliced as you wish and the accompaniments were fresh and hot, for you to choose. Very tasty enjoyable food and will be the first place I return when needing this Sunday roast

Metimos como otro lugar cerca tenía quedaron sin patatas fritas y lasaña! ! . . . Pedimos el filete y esposa la lasaña. . Patatas cocinadas y bonito a mano la carne estaba perfectamente preparado. . Sería agradable si una salsa estaba incluido en el precio como en otros lugares. . Pero eso es lo único que me puedo quejar. . . En una ventaja que había sidra de barril que otros restaurantes, este no compensaban la falta de salsa incluido

Absolutamente genial, tenía una sorpresa 40th, el personal era increíble, la comida era genial, con una gran relación calidad-precio, no podía pedir más, altamente recomendado, el propietario es fantástico y te hace sentir muy bienvenidos.

Went for a pint after work I didn't know they served food at nights ended up having the flaming Pheonix pizza made fresh to order will be eating here again check it out guys

Came in here on spec. Food was good. Came out fast and was hot and very tasty. Patrick is a great host. Looking after everyone and making them welcome. Hope he makes a success of it

Have eaten and drank in here for a long time, the new management is lovely, the new menu is amazing value for money and so tasty! The pizzas are spot on and the Sunday lunches are absolutely lovely! Calamari is my fave, reasonably priced beer and a good atmosphere, really must try!

I popped in For a drink after work four that they serve food til 8:30 so indulged in a lovely plate of Garlic mushrooms followedby a thin crisp Bolognese pizza all for under £10.00 great valuefor money & everything cooked fresh to order! I highly recommend this place

Called in here today for lunch after a spot of shopping. We opted for the 3 course lunch priced at £5.95. We weren't expecting much for such a small price but where we surprised! The choice for starters was soup or potato skins and dip, we went for the soup. Next was pizza or pasta and plenty of choices I went for amatricana penne pasta and hubby choose pepperoni pizza (12 inch) they were both very large dishes and full of flavour then we could have ice cream or coffee. We both went with coffee. Honestly for the price you can't go wrong. There is also other things on the menu from burgers, steaks,risottos at various prices and also a carvery on a Sunday So something for everyone. Give it a try I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The staff couldn't do enough for us, very friendly and accommodating especially for our kids. Great venue to take the family and even though we had special dietary requirments, with a bit of prior arrangement the manager made sure we were all catered for. Great value for money, fresh and tasty food, will be going back again.

Pop in for something to eat before the Cinema after hearing good things about the food and was very surprised fresh pizza pasta from £3.95 steaks king prawns

Went for Sunday lunch with my family never in my life have I seen such a small amount of meat considering I had paid 7 pounds for my dinner , the veg were cold and there was no roast potatoes .It was a total waste off 22 pounds for my 2 younger children and my dinner which included draft coke which was flat .Never ever again I was annoyed that I had wasted my money.

Sunday 26th , went yesterday as my daughter wanted to treat me to Mothers Day lunch with her children, in spite of paying £4.95 for a children's portion, the meat placed on the plate was so small it was simply shocking, the vegetable although fresh were cold and tasteless, the staff spent their time saying they were waiting for Yorkshire puddings and obviously were inexperienced, the place was grubby and all the ladies toilets were blocked ! A shocking experience and one to avoid, one extremely large man seemed to eat endless refills ! I could not wait to leave.My daughter cooked some food when we went home for her children, they were hungry . avoid.

Went for tea with the girls from work, were greeted by a very friendly manager who couldn't do enough for us.We got free garlic bread which was delicious, we all ordered different starters and mains with no complaints. I would definitely recommend the potatoe skins for a starter.Overall a good night with delicious food and very friendly service..

We were recommended by a friend who told us it was under New management with a new menu Great food relaxed atmospher will most definetly be returning I highly recommend this to try the good all cooked from fresh and the staff are realy friendly

After hearing the gossip about the Phoenix I decided to take my son & niece we were not disappointed thin crisp Italian pizza crispy potato skins followed by chicken Crema 2 chicken Valdostano hand cut chip's, sweet potato fries & veg with creamy mash and to finish off hot chocolate fudge cake ice cream & chocolate profiteroles will most definitely be returning I would recommend this & will be back soon

We were told by a friend The Phoenix was under new management and that they have a new menu out too. We went tonight to try it and were not disappointed! The staff were so friendly as soon as we went in and made us feel so welcome! My husband and I both had the surf and turf and it was gorgeous!! And really reasonably priced too! They brought us a free garlic bread too which was lovely, we really can't fault anything at all and would definitely recommend a visit, we will certainly be going back! The staff are full of great ideas for the place and so enthusiastic about changing it for the better, they said to us 'it will only get better' but I don't think they realise how much better it already is! Great things to come, go and try it and support the local business!

My first ever visit, at a friend's recommendation. Decor is interesting, a bit of an unusual layout. I had the three course cheapie special, which was very good, no sign of freezer products favoured by so many chains. Under new (very keen and personable) management with lots of ideas and enthusiasm. It was very quiet when we visited, but given its town centre location it could really take off as the evenings stretch out and people go for walks or a post cinema visit. Excellent value, excellent food, get it while it lasts.

After a recommendation from a friend my partner and I visited the Phoenix Inn in Cramlington today. My friend said the food was excerlent after a change of management. We have never been before so I can't say if it's better or worse than the previous owners. All I can say is that the food and menu was indeed very good and well worth the money. The menu is mostly Italian with a few specials listed separately on a blackboard. We chose a cheese garlic bread to share for starter.It wasn't long before a huge cheese filled garlic pizza was delivered to our table.it was thin crust and crispy and delicious. My partner chose the spaghetti carbonara and I ordered the chicken mango and tiger prawns from the specials board for our mains. My partner said it was the best spaghetti carbonara she had tasted and I was more than pleased with my chicken dish with a slight spicey aftertaste.We were too full full to consider a desert so I can't say anything about the sweets. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the manager even came over to our table and introduced himself which is definitely a first for me. All in all a very enjoyable visit and very good value for money. Keep up the good work.

I popped into the pub on my way home to pick up some pizzas for our dinner.. hearing they were the real thing.. was not disappointed. Great flavour thin and crispy, definitely will be back for a family meal there soon. New Italian food on the block !!! Definitely recommend it. Well done new owners

Called in for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago as I'd heard it was under new management. The staff and the new family running the pub couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and the carvery was delicious and great value for money. Great to see the Phoenix rising once again!

A nice eating area and I believe the take over has done this place good as it didn't have good reviews years ago. A good three course meal and if you don't like ice cream you can have coffee instead. Only £5.95. Nice staff. Separate from bar so you get privacy when eating. Good outdoor area with heating lamp. Potato skins and dip or soup. Lovely tomato and basil. Pasta or pizza. Required: Black Pepper Mill, Salad Bar (unlimited salad) Bain Marie? Drink prices are being reviewed. Very filling. At one point I was full so was given a take away box which is excellent considering you have paid for it. Good customer services as they know me already.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Visited Saturday had potato skins and pasta which was so good for the money £7.95 coffee or ice cream for afters. The mince dinner and turkey dinner looked lovely. Definitely will be back.

Called in for a drink after a Saturday evening at the cinema. We arrived about 10.20pm, after we ordered a drink we were asked if we were staying long, which we thought was a strange question. We ordered another drink about 10.40pm which was served to us quite reluctantly as the young bar man wanted to close early. Within ten minutes we were told to finish our drinks as the bar was closing, this was before 11pm. Won't be returning to this bar!!!

Have to say its pretty crap when you are served a glass of wine with lipstick all around the glass, the waiter didnt even bother to check beforehand,.The 2nd event that was also crap was the potatoes which were supposed to be new potatoes, they were the big boilers cut into peices - well okay but they were ghastly. They tasted sour!! Even the waiter agreed afterwards & said the main chef was off......The 3rd event was noticing there was no loo paper when it was too late ..... ermmm hey ho.Been once, not again mindMince & dumplings was nice though.

After hearing Phoenix had changed hands 3 friends and I decided to go for lunch today 6th February 2017, I have to say I was very impressed!! We all had mince and dumplings with veg and everything was homemade and not frozen, absolutely delicious and cost just £5.95. The new manager came and introduced himself and was really pleasant.....will definitely be our new choice of pub!!!

Called in for the Sunday Carvery as we had been hearing good vibes about the place since changing owners..... Imagine our surprise and delight when the first person we saw was "Patrick" the former manager at the Blyth Sambucca ( our favourite )...The food was excellent all freshly prepared and cooked and tasted lovely ...Drawing on a wealth of experience Patrick has big plans to make this a top eatery in the area .. In time he plans to introduce a Pizza/Pasta menu, specials, speciality steaks etc. We will be making this our local now ...Put this one on your radar folks.

Had a great experience at this restaurant, the food was delicious (we had 2x full English breakfasts which were only £5 each and they were huge!, 1x potato skins, 1x sausage and mash) The waitress who served us our drinks and also our food was very friendly as well as having a good sence of humour which created a homely atmosphere. We were given our drinks at the bar as soon as we ordered them. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant for a family lunch.

Saw lots of lovely food options on the board outside so decided to try it for a change.... bad move in my opinion. The place was almost deserted which we put down to it being just before 12 noon..We placed our order at the bar and our food was soon with us looking good. Unfortunatey I am not one for reheated food and thats exactly what it was - I swear the mashed potato had been cooked the day before and reheated, the dumplings were dry and they used frozen vegetables.. (the mince was good even if that was reheated too). There was one member of staff out front serving drinks and food, taking food orders and cleaning. This is somewhere I will not use in the future.

Called in for Sunday lunch given a warm friendly welcome on ordering a beer and a orange. There was a choice of small medium or large Sunday lunches from 4.95 to 6.95 we chose medium at 5.95. Meats on offer were gammon beef or turkey with a good choice of veg that you help yourself from the terrines. The food was hot and tasty and excellent value. Two medium dinners 1 johnsmith and 1 half of orange £15.01 nice visit enjoyed the dinner very much. The pub layout is unusual upper middle and lower levels and outside tabled area for the summer the patio glass let the pub down for me filthy in need of a good clean. The toilets were bright and clean with a disabled toilet but access for a standard wheelchair would need careful navigation through the tight turns all in all would go back thank you

Low price Sunday lunch. 3 sizes starting at £4.99 for small. Excellent choice of vegetables which were nicely cooked and good Yorkshire pudding. The beef seemed to be bought in but it tasted OK and was good for the price. Unfortunately, other diners allowed their children to run a bit wild, which made for a slightly stressful and noisy dining experience which we could not enjoy.
