In Belford's embrace, where Northumberland's grace, The Salmon Inn resides, a charming place. With walls of stories, whispers of old, A haven of warmth, and stories yet untold. The scent of salmon lingers in the air, And laughter fills the corners with care. Cosy hearths beckon, and friends do gather, To share in moments that forever matter. In beautiful Northumberland's embrace, The Salmon Inn stands, a cherished space. A refuge for travelers, a local's delight, Where memories dance through the night. So raise a glass to this cherished inn, Where joy and kinship always begin. In Belford's heart, with its Northumberland pride, The Salmon Inn's beauty shall forever reside.

Visited whilst staying in Belford village the staff are great, the building however is very tired and needs a refurb, some of the clientele are also a bit dubious. One very important thing if you are staying in Belford is that nowhere serves food on a Monday a fact we discovered to our peril, thank goodness for the Coop on West St.Back to the Salmon, the menu is somewhat limited i tried Fish and Chips which was very well cooked my wife had Lasagne and my Daughter the Burger both said they were good - with starters and a round of drinks it was Ā£58 which wasnt the cheapest but when in Rome etc....

Booked a table here as stayed at the campsite down the road. Menu was just standard pub food but there wasnā€™t anything for vegetarians. Dog friendly. But the food was a disappointment Iā€™m sorry to say. I hate it when places use frozen chips, whatā€™s wrong with actual potatoes? And the fish and chips, sadly that fish was not fresh, it had definitely been frozen, it was watery as hell. Not my kind of place Iā€™m afraid, though the other reviews and photos made out it was pretty decent. Sorry guys

The service was great from a friendly and attentive young chap on the bar. The chef also offered to do my son a chicken curry instead of the vegetable curry on the menu, so for the service alone, the Salmon gets a 3.The food, however, is probably only worth a 2.My wife and I ordered the 'homemade' steak and ale pie, but nothing served on our table that night was homemade. My daughter received the cheapest quality chicken nuggets, the kind where every nugget is an identical size and shape, and frozen chips. She loved them to be fair , but it was certainly not worth the Ā£5.50 we paid. The chicken curry was ok and my son enjoyed it, but it was very much a reheated readymeal. My steak and ale pie was, sadly, the poorest I've ever had! Edible, but dry and tasteless 'steak' topped with a puff pastry crust that was identical to that of my wife's and therefore, due to their bland flavour and uniform appearance, led me to conclude that this too was courtesy of another frozen readymeal. It was served with more frozen wholesale chips and some canned vegetables that were so foul I couldn't eat them. Surely it is easy and cheap enough to buy some fresh vegetables and steam or boil them for each meal. Charging over Ā£10 for a meal with canned vegetables really is unacceptable. At least update the menu and remove the word 'homemade' as this is misleading!Well done on the service though. We were made to feel very welcome and that is why we left a small tip.

Do not go to the Black Swan Belford. We booked a meal here and arrived on time only to be told that the chef had left a couple of weeks ago. They hadnā€™t the manners to contact us and tell us this. As we are walking the Northumberland Coast path and havenā€™t got a car with us we were devastated. Luckily, we saw the sign for The Salmon Inn further down the street. We called in on the off chance and were welcomed by a friendly barman who showed us to a table, The menu looked good, so we ordered a bottle of lovely Chilean Sauvignon Ā£14.95. The food was beaut I presented and the service excellent. The two young waiters were. Rey pleasant, nothing was any trouble to them. The atmosphere in the pub was good and social distancing observed. All in all a thoroughly pleasant and enjoyable evening. if ever we are back in Belford we would have no hesitation in dining out at The Salmon. Thanks for a super evening.

Dreadful Experience. Avoid This Pub !!! The wife and I was staying in Belford for a short break and thought we would pop into The Salmon Inn one evening What a mistake !!! We had already read some less than favorable reviews however, we thought we make up our own mind. The bar area was like The Slaughtered Lamb in The American Werewolf In London, A large group of locals sat in the middle of the pub all stopped what they were doing and turned to face us as we entered. Unperturbed, we bought some drinks and took a seat. The next 30 mins we sat listening to a barrage of loud conversation liberally peppered with swear words. We aren't prudes but this was every other word. The group was spread out across the pub so if we or anyone else wanted to enter the lounge to get away from the rabble it would have been impossible. Occasionally the lady behind the bar would admonish the group for their language but this was done weakly and with no affect as the lady was taking part in their conversation. The final straw occurred when again after a loud swearing episode took place, the barmaid shouted "Mind your language, we have other customers" for one of the group to reply to her "F*** Them" which was greeted with much laughter by the group and the bar staff, leaving my wife and I feeling incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome. We quickly finished our drinks and left, never to return. Do yourself a favour, give The Salmon Inn a wide berth and walk up to The Black Swan 100 yards away, you'll get a much warmer welcome

When we arrived we were told there was only one table for two available. It really was the worst table in the restaurant (virtually in a corridor) but as we hadn't booked we accepted it. After ordering we found that there were several tables for two that were being kept aside to push together to accommodate larger parties or for people with dogs. When our food arrived we asked to move but were refused even though the other tables were still empty. The tables we asked to be moved to were still empty when we left.Perhaps the management should look after the customers already in their establishment rather than those who may or may not turn up.
