Last time we visited Seahouses we ate here and loved it. This time we had take away. 2 Fish n Chips, 1 Sausage n Chips, 2 Mushy Peas and 1 Curry Sauce. £35 - not cheap. The portions were large but the chips weren't great. Big batter but a fairly skinny bit of fish inside. Despite reminding the server, we were missing one of the portions of peas. So, disappointing. With the competition nearby, and the sea on the doorstep, there's no excuse to serve less than excellent, and this fell far short.

Visited Lewis’ from TripAdvisor reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Four of us visited for a late lunch, about 2pm and enjoyed our meals. I had cod, chips and peas and the portion was massive. Cooked beautifully and the service was lovely. Very friendly staff Also, for those who have a public toilet phobia, don’t worry 👍 the toilets were exceptionally clean and well maintained. Deffo a massive bonus. Would recommend and definitely visit again when in Seahouses

terrible chip shop, lady serving was very rude and arrogant never been before but kindly asked for chips twice and some forks to eat them with as we were taking out, said that was fine, upon collecting chips no forks were in the bag or wrapping its self so went back in and kindly asked for 2 again. Same rude lady slammed them on the counter and said ‘you don’t need to keep asking for forks!’ Well if they were put in the bag like I had nicely asked the first time I would not have needed to ask again. Very rude and had a terrible attitude towards customers for asking a simple question. First time I have came here and will not be coming back again. Rude staff. Would avoid.

Stopped off here on the way back from a Scotland roadtrip because I'd heard from several people and reviews that the fish and chips were excellent. Unfortunately I found it to be only average - I've certainly had much better fish and chips. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and I was served quickly. They only offer one sized portion of each type of fish priced at £15.50 - it is a very generous portion, but probably too much for those with smaller appetites or like me if you've just stopped for a light lunch breaking up a long journey. The fish and chips were nice enough but nothing special compared to what you'd find at your local. They do offer a variety of types of fish that you wouldnt get at most places.

Fish bigger than the dinner plate we put them on and enough chips to feed a family. Lovely feeling when you walk in, it seemed quiet when we got there around 6.45pm. Sat at a table looking onto the outside garden area. It took almost an hour for 3 tiny duck pancakes as a starter to arrive! Average in taste. We waited a further 10-15 minutes for our mains: Steak pie, mash & veg and a smashed burger. I hate it when I expect a pie but only get a pie crust! Mash was cold, small jug of gravy was ok. Burger was ok, but not what we were expecting, smaller and underwhelming is the best description. On a lighter note, the South African Sauvignon Blanc was delicious. Overall cost us £64 for a mediocre meal that neither of us really enjoyed.

We called in for a late lunch/early dinner at about 16:00. We had seen the menus online and I was really looking forward to the lamb's liver. The staff were very welcoming and took our orders quite quickly. We ordered chicken goujons as a starter and the liver and the ravioli and chicken strips from the Specials menu. The chicken goujons were delicious. Whilst we waited for our mains we observed great customer service with customers, members checking that their obvious regulars were ok and occasionally sitting and chatting to some of them. After a wait the waitress informed us that there was no more liver. I eventually chose the scampi, expecting big, juicy pieces but no. The scampi pieces were small and thin, not what I expected at all, more like a portion from a freezer cabinet, not from succulent Whitby. The ravioli was ok but as we ate it became apparent it had been kept warm whilst they decided there was no more liver and had to cook the scampi! Pieces of the ravioli were dried up and stuck to the plate. Sorry County you have let yourselves down, so disappointing!
