Phoenix Cafe in Wokingham

Since coming back into the office we have cheered our weeks up with a Friday breakfast roll. Although there’s a sandwich shop down the road they stopped doing eggs…. Who does that 😂 anyway that meant we stumbled across Phoenix. The food is always hot, delivered well within the time and never a single mistake despite numerous items on a bulk order. Even the lovely Neil who delivers our food is a pleasure to deal with. These guys are great and I would have no hesitation recommending them

We have twice ordered from here since hearing about them last week. Absolutely delicious food, arrived hot and on time. Couldn’t find a single fault as all three of us thought it was really yummy food

Amazing breakfast baguettes and baps. Ordered through Just Eat this morning as needed something lush for breakfast. Well Phoenix Cafe didn’t disappoint me. Very good quality sausage, bacon & eggs cooked perfectly. Soft baguette which I like and big roll as a bap which my daughter loved. Will definitely order again. Delivery was so quick at approximately 30 minutes which was half the time quoted on just eat.

My wife being a cook herself was delighted to find a café delivering breakfast and this morning I decided she deserved a well earned rest from cooking. Sadly what we received was so disappointing. All four eggs in both breakfasts so overcooked they were like rubber which for my wife renders them inedible. I tried to eat one, but gave up quickly. Bacon is very poor quality as are the sausages and therefore I could not eat much before giving up and my wife couldnt eat anything sent. Meat tasted very cheap, Mushrooms were swimming in oil and tasted rather strange and neither of us could eat them. Hash browns were extremely greasy throughout and burnt. No toast in either breakfast, instead a slice of bread put inside the containers they arrived in and were soggy from the steam produced by the food because they were laying across the entire breakfast. Presentation very poor also as everything piled on top of each other, but would have been nothing if the food been better. Delivery driver did say something about no delivery boxes?. Not value for money either in my opinion as quite expensive for overcooked poor quality ingredients. My wifes suggestion would be to change oil to a better quality which is better for cooking any food. Poor quality oil can be tasted in the food cooked and ruins the food in some cases. Frying eggs on a low heat, stops them turning into a rubbery consistency as whites should never have hard brown edges, should be white all around accept for the yolk. changing oil in pan more often where eggs are cooked. Better quality produce bought. Score from me 1 star rating. ( This is for the baguette only.) Score from my wife 0 star rating ( Found everything in order inedible due to excessive grease and overcooked, poor quality produce and oil used to cook with) Overall a very disappointing experience, so felt I had to write a review here on Trip Advisor, just to warn others about our experience, in hopes the cafe decide to much improve their current produce and potential buyers of their breakfast, know there could be a chance they will waste their money, as I have if what they receive, is anything like what we received today. Would not be able to recommend to any of my friends, family, or aquantances.
