DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES First and last time using this place. Totally ignorant on food safety and handling rules. Ordered a doner meal, asked for chili sauce. Wife saw her putting wrong sauce on. She clearly only owned up as she saw my wife was watching. I specifically asked for the meal to be remade. Not my error and I said I didn't want the other sauce. She grudgingly walks back to the area the doner meat is. Within 30 seconds she's back. I asked is that fresh, you've not just chucked the bits away to be promised no. I asked twice as there was no way she had remade it. Got home, no drink which we paid for. Box is covered in the wrong sauce. Meat has the wrong sauce still. Dinner in the bin. Imagine if this was an allergen issue, rather than just a preference? Totally unacceptable, dangerous and against all good practice. The attitude of the guy serving was rude, had to repeat my small order several times and he clearly has no customer service skills. Won't be returning.

First take away from the recently opened shop . The fish was quite good but poor quality chips , similar to what they serve in their Chinese takeaway next door. Chinese staff trying to train Eastern European people how to serve ...all a bit chaotic! Hope it improves with time

Very limited opening hours since February when someone parked their car right at the counter. Best check if they are open before you travel to the shop.

As a family we regularly use this takeaway. …… not anymore….. used to sell proper British curry sauce now it’s that rank tasting cheap Chinese flavour. One of my boys always had the chicken burger and now it’s chewy and inedible, Chips are good though….. Please go back to cooking with quality ingredients

Worst ever! Dry fish, old reheated chips, rock hard saveloy. Will not recommend to anyone. Must be under new management as used to be exceptional

Lovely fresh fish and chips. My son said the chicken was the best he's ever had!. You have to wait a little while but its worth the wait.

Buy from here regularly and will continue to do so. Can preorder via phone and collect. Lots of choice on menu. Never had a bad meal. Cod bites and chips are a favourite.

We have got our take away order sorted now - we love their fish and order this and their scampi with chips to share - generous portions.

The best fish and chip shop. The kebabs are fresh, well cooked and come with much salad! The quality of the food served has remained the same in the last years. Highly recommend!

Tried for first time, very impressed chips nice and fish was skinless which was a bonus, hadn't had fish n chips for ages but will definitely go again, thought it better than wai wait, chips not soggy at all

Dry chips obviously reheated to save money ..curry sauce was so stodgy and salty awful and overpriced never ever again

they sell the best wings by far... they are always really nice there and the services is great! their chips and kebabs are amazing and i literally eat there like once a week. but seriously... their wings are amazing and their prices are low

Not good at all. Every time you go in there it’s like you are doing the staff a favour. Food often been sitting for ages under hot light so batter is poor. Expensive to boot.

Chips burnt and fish dry. I think the staff have changed. Really disappointing. We often go to this fish and chip shop and it’s normally outstanding but this was really bad. Won’t bother going again.

Great food! I've been a regular customer there for a few years now. They've never let me down! Fish is very good, chips are perfect! I love the kebabs as well, especially chicken and lamb shish, they're the best. Actually to be honest there was nothing that would be bad in here, everything is always fresh and tasty :) I'm actually sitting in the bar and writing that review while waiting for my order 😁 they certainly deserve 5 stars!

Best chips about, doner kebabs not so good. As a chip shop best I’ve had, as a kebab shop no!!!! I had a lovely batterd sausage grease free and grease free chips. The kebab had no flavour and very greasy.

We ordered two sharwmas and some chips early on a sat night. We're told to take a seat while we waited but when th3 food came out then asked about sauces and salads and wrapped the food after the choices indicating that the food was clearly to be taken away. Was most annoyed to have been given no tissues or cutlery to accompany the food so it was a messy affair and half the food we ordered could not be consumed without a fork at least. It was a shame as the flavour of the food we could eat was yummy.

Our family go to fish and chip shop . All cooked to order average wait about 15 mins which is time for a quick beer in the pub opposite . Best fish and chip shop as far as we are concerned.

Third time here after making this our regular chippy based on superb chips and wider menu then our old place. This is best fish and chips take away in Wokingham. Recommend it strongly although gets busy (good sign right?)

Station fish bar always supplies good Fish and Chips. There are times where you have to wait a little so it's always good to ring through your order first

We had a friends get together and ordered 12 fish and chips in boxes with 6 mushy peas, all were lovely and helped avoid any washing up.

To be honest this was not the worst ive had but what you might expect for a cheap meal.Soggy batter, small portions. However chips where good and tasty. Staff not cheerful and appeared to be on Auto pilot, do not think I saw a smile or a meaningfull acknowledgement the whole time I was here. Was ok but with so many other chippy s around will not be using this one again.

Nicely served and certious staff. A little expensive compared with other local shops but I think it is worth it. Fish cooked as you wait so served hot and fresh. Small seating area but adequate but nowhere to park even for takeaways.

Nearly as busy as the Wai Wai. I moved house and this is my current local chippy. It's actually very good and the fish is not oily, and most often cooked to order. Chips are really good.

We ordered a large order for 15 people on a Wednesday lunchtime and what an amazing service! There were a mix of orders and was ready in just over half an hour, and the order was done to precision and no mistakes. The food itself was beyond satisfactory (was fresh and not soggy) and was a great portion size. Really worth the money and would highly recommend! We will back sooner rather than later!

I can honestly say that the station fish bar serve the best burger and chips I’ve ever had. They also do other things such as fish and chips, kebabs etc etcThe prices are reasonable and they have special offers for OAPs and fantastic meal deals. The staff are friendly and the actual,restaurant spotless. Definitely worth a visit.

Having waited the 30 mins to collect on arriving it was not cooked. Had an email been sent telling me that 1 item was not available then I would have chosen a duplicate item. Batter on the cod was not cooked properly and was soggy.Will not be going here again

The fish was cooked fresh and was fab 10/10.The chips not so good but were edible so 6/10 for those.I had a curry sauce which tasted like it was made from powder -not great.As they cook the fish after you order the wait is about 10 minutes - but for the fish well worth it

We got takeaway Fish and Chips from here yesterday. We had to wait for about 15 mins, however as the fish was being made fresh, I was more than happy to wait.I was really impressed with the fish. All freshly made, great batter, slice of lemon and parsley, all served in a cardboard box. I was really impressed. The chips were not as good, but they were nice. Would recommended for sure.

Been able to try many of the local chippies however none come close! Great portioning and value with a consistently good meal every time!

Have visited here twice before but tonight just not good. The rock salmon was dry as was the cod therefore suspect the fish was definitely not fresh. It was a very stingy portion of chips which were also very dry and probably not cooked today. Please forget about adding a sprig of parsley and a slice of lemon and concentrate on fresh fish and chips. CONSISTENCY is a necessity !!

First time here and we really enjoyed it. We’d been in London all day Saturday and returned to Wokingham Station early evening, so fish n chips and chicken n chips was exactly what we needed. We ate in and enjoyed the meal very much. We’ll be back for more.

I have visited fish and chips shops the length and breadth of the British Isles and I feel this one is a good one given it's Auburn area. Fish is fresh pies are hot. What more could one ask for. Now Chips are a personal thing....these ones stick together but thats how I like "em. Well done Station Road Wokingham ccc

Not sure what’s happened to Station Fish Bar, but it’s gone down hill rapidly in the last month or so. We’ve had some good meals from here in the past - evidently not anymore.The medium cod we had was small at best, had a grotty tough bit in it, and was very greasy. The large chips were cold and over cooked, and had clearly been sat there far beyond their best. The chicken shish kebab was OK, but definitely not worth the £7 price. All in all, an extremely disappointing meal when spending nearly £15. Won’t be going back any time soon. Maybe one to avoid on a Saturday night - based on how empty it was, perhaps others have decided that already.

We always buy here for fish and chips , burgers and kebabs, the price is just right. The location is just across wokingham station, so if you wanted to eat something heavy before your trip you can drop by at Station fish bar. They accept orders by phone then come to collect it after 10-15 minutes. I hope they will have delivery soon.

My wife and I have been eating here for few months now. They have never let us down. It's great to have such a nice food just under our noses (as we live on the same street).Food is always fresh and tasty. Chips are amazing - our favourite. Fish is very nice and the kebabs are great. I especially love chicken shish and kofte kebab.I'm not the biggest fan of lamb as it very often smells like a old goat... and flavour is quite strange however I decided to try lamb shish and I was amazed how good it was. It was super fresh and tasty meat, I had never supposed that lamb might be that great. We are regulars and we'll definitely be coming back.The only downside is that ordering via phone doesn't really work as they always start preparing the food when we pop in there - what basically means that we still have to wait for 10-15mins for food. On the other hands it guarantees that the food is perfectly fresh so I don't intend to pick on that.

I don't usually do this, but I felt compelled to because of the horrendous experience I had here. It started from the moment I ordered. Although speaking and understanding English is obviously required if you are taking orders, I usually don't mind if people struggle a bit - as long as they make an effort and are polite. But he just couldn't understand my order so I had to repeat myself numerous times. Usually this would not bother me so much ...but then I had to wait a long, long time, along with an increasing number of customers, for simple fast-food orders.This included a group of children with their grandparents who were eating in. Unsurprisingly, given the time they were waiting, they were struggling to control their bored and hungry grandchildren. Meanwhile more customers came in. At this point the right thing to have done would have been for someone to explain why everything was taking so long and apologise. But this simple act of politeness and customer service seemed beyond them. In fact it seemed they just didn't care at all. When I asked for my money back - because I could wait no longer - he simply took the cash out and handed it to me, saying nothing in the way of an explanation - or even a simple sorry. It makes you wonder if they can't get the basics right, what else they might get wrong? Truly the most shocking experience I have ever had in a fish and chip shop or takeaway in the whole of my life. Don't waste your money and time in this place.

They do other types of take away food but their fish and chips are excellent, good value, and packed into well insulated boxes to take home.

Nice to have a fish and chip shop which does proper potatoes Chips. Fish is cook to order so always crispy batter and not too oily! Parking is bit of challenge as molly miller's and station opposite is metered.

In Station fish bar kebab you can find variety of food, to be honest i tried fish and chips (crispy), kebabs, chicken(fantastic choice), burgers etc..All of food been so delicious and fresh .The staff is really quick,hard working,friendly.I highly recommend this place.Its the best place in region.

This is the best fish and chips in the area. The fish comes in a cardboard box so is kept lovely and crisp. There is a huge selection of other food available and the service is quick

Great food - proper fish and chips. Would choose this option over others as the fish is always fresh and service friendly. The portions offer good sizes along with smaller fish portions also available.

Got takeaway for the first time here today (adult fish and chips, sausages and a kids fish and chips) and it was great. Fish was tasty and beautifully cooked and the chips were good too and large portions, like the kids meal.Even do gravy to go with chips, which my northern husband was overjoyed with as so rare to get this down south.Only regret is we didn't try this place sooner, as will definitely be our first choice from now on

Lovely clean decor, friendly staff, fresh cooked fish in wonderful crispy batter and very nicely packaged to take away - it's worth going there even if parking nearby is rather tricky

First time tried out this chippy as usually go to the one on Rances Lane. Good quality tasty fish with crispy batter served in a box. Curry sauce is also good. The 3 different portion sizes is a great idea. Also handy being able to park in the pub car park. Definitely recommend.

Fish and chips still excellent and nicely served with a lemon wedge and parsley. Fresh and tasty. Kebabs also available...

Phoned through order , parked in Molly Millars car park and hey presto a fabulous family take away .... the shop is clean and pleasant , the food , considering 3 very different teenagers , they all enjoyed it which is a first , cod and chips for me , batter was lovely and crisp the standard chips , wow , really can't fault it .... the staff so friendly .... I could go on ...will be back many times ....

Visited here a few times since I moved to the area, food is great and reasonably priced- friendly staff and a great fish bar! you can pre order and pick up which is good for busy times. Will be going back again and again...

Unlike a lot of chippys the food is not ridiculously greasy. The fish comes in a box with a lemon and the batter is light. The portion of chips is very generous.

Visited for lunch a few days ago. I ordered fish and chips to eat in and it was freshly cooked. The fish and chip bar has 5 tables for dining and was quite busy for takeaways, they kept the tables very clean straightaway after use, the place was spotless.Parking is available in the pub car park opposite for 15 minutes.

During the first few weeks of opening, the Fish Bar was lovely, plenty of food and freshly cooked. Just recently though, the standards seem to have dropped :( My food did not taste as nice as a few weeks previously. This is a shame...

Liked that you could sit at a table and eat if you wanted. We ordered take away and it was all cooked to order which I prefer and staff very welcoming. As we wanted a small piece of fish we went for the pensioners portion!! maybe it should just be called small? The chips were really good and the cod just the right size and very tasty with nice batter. Great that it comes in a box too. Will definitely be returning. Oh and being able to park in Molly Millers car park for a while was perfect.

Central Wokingham has been without a good Fish & Chip shop for many years. The Station Fish Bar fills this void. The fish is cooked to order and the serving is generous.I will use this venue regularly. Well worth a visit to eat in or take away, they also take phone orders. They also serve chicken if required.

We live locally and had given up with fish and chip takeaways as we had been unable to find a decent chippy until now! We were recommended the Station Fish bar and were impressed. Others must be too as it was packed on a Friday night. Fish is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a little. It's worth it though as our cod had a thin crispy batter rather than the thick greasy stuff we've experienced elsewhere. Chips are lovely and copius too. Fish comes in a box which I think helps keep it crisper than being wrapped in greasy paper. Great friendly service too. Almost as good as the fish and chips we get on holiday in Devon - definitely a winner!

Average fish & chips but if u get the lunch menu the price is really cheap compared to the amount and quality!

Just off the train after a few beers in london and in kebab mode walked into here. What no kebabs? This place has changed. Ordered haddock and chips and waited a reassuring amount of time. Got a huge portion of chips and a large piece of excellently cooked haddock complete with parsley and a wedge of lemon.

Went there following recommendation. So glad we did because it was really good (much better than the place we were originally heading for!) - and being able to park for 15 mins in pub opposite is really usedul. Food nicely presented, fish was crispy, chips were very nice and, best of all, it wasn't at all greasy.Will definitely use again.

We had a large number of friends round and we didn't want to cook so we picked up 19 f&c dinners in boxes from Station Fish Bar which all our guests really enjoyed and we had no washing up.

Stopped off here by chance as I was passing it to collect my car, I noticed that the place had some seats and rather than go and have some bland motorway food thought I would drop in here.I ordered fish and chips and was served at the table and first impressions were an after taste with the chips and not too crisp fish. I ate the meal and enjoyed it, but not a barnstormer.There was regular through put of customers and most were for fish and chips.Would I go back again - yes.

you can phone ahead to get your fish ready for collection as its fried to order - went for the haddock which was a good portion and very tasty indeed as were the chips - its relatively new and very clean and a few tables and chairs inside - recommended and will go again

I've had take-away cod & chips on two occasions and both times the standard has been high. Fish cooked to order, good batter. In my opinion, the portion of chips is too large - couldn't finish.

Don't do many reviews but thought I needed to put something on about the F&C we just had from the Station Fish bar. It was our first time there following someone else's recommendation and the food was fab. Really great service and I know it's only F&C but there seemed to be a real passion for making sure they were the best F&C's you can get. On a par with Rick Steins in Padstow!

Ordered Cod and chips, the Cod was tasty. Although the batter was not crispy, the batter was soggy. The Chips are OK. I expected a lot more from this fish bar. Would I use it again, yes I would, but I'd like the batter to be crispy. The premises are clean and fresh looking. The 15 minutes free parking at the pub across the road is really handy to have. Food was well priced.

I first went in here on their 2nd day of opening and that was not bad at all. However they have improved in all aspects since then. The chips are a lot better and whilst they could be improved I would not complain. The fish is absolutely fantastic. I have had rock here 3 times and it is fresh, tasty and perfectly cooked. My daughter had cod yesterday and that too was very good. The fried chicken is quite good too. The staff are beginning to settle in and on my visit yesterday they had a real vibe going on and were enjoying themselves which was entertaining whilst I waited for our fish to be cooked to order. Head and shoulders above rances lane and barrett crescent chip shops. Parking is available in the Molly Millars pub opposite for 15 minutes which is plenty of time even if your fish is cooked to order. Very decent of the Molly Millars to do that for their neighbours. Good value for money in my opinion.

I often pick up a box of freshly cooked fish and chips from here on my way home and they are superb.

We have been really impressed with our Friday Fish meals since trying this new 'Chipper' in the town. Having chosen to try a take-a-way meal it has replaced our Friday special in a local restaurant. The fish box and chip bag allow me to bring a grease free and hot dish home to the other side of Wokingham, even on foot. I have noted to varieties of batter, seems to depend on the chef, but both are realy tasty and the cod is really good. I always go large, and large it is, but I want a meaty fish fillet with no bones and this has always been my experience.I saw notes about 'waits' but we love the the fresh cookedness of this place so far.
