Wife is Vietnamese and found the food as good as in hanoi so that tell you everything about the quality and taste they serve. So go there

Here for a work Christmas lunch and the food was just awesome, beautiful Vietnamese food

I ordered one piece of beef and one piece of chicken. The pho soup was good. The meat was average. The noodles were a little hard and a little sticky when blanched. It would be better if it was blanched more and stirred up a little more. Overall, the texture would be better. It’s not bad. It’s a good place to come in and drink a bowl of hot hot noodles when it’s cold and you don’t know what to eat.

I expected the prices to be much higher but it was very reasonable. I’d recommend getting a side/starter as the mains are a bit in the small side. Portion size aside, the food tasted amazing and I’ll definitely be back here.

Awful, nonsensical allergy handling when ordering online. Their "company policy" is that they can't help you and you should ask for a refund through Deliveroo or Just Eat. Awful experience

A great place for Vietnamese dining. Love the cabbage dish starter, bun for main and banana fritters for dessert. 5 star.

Had a great time visiting Pho while in York recently for the Christmas markets. Dining with a coeliac, the menu was really accessible and incredible quality. Can't wait to come back!

Today we spontaneously went to Pho while strolling through town. (The location in the middle of the tourist center is often a rip-off. Basically a lot of money for little.) Completely different here: a nice welcome from a young woman, explanations from a young man - you are served at your place. And then the extraordinarily delicious food! Best in England for 5 days. Good summer rolls, very well seasoned main course with perfectly steamed vegetables. Good sauces, good portions. Prices are not exorbitant - it fits! Full recommendation from us!

I'm pretty sure I am ready to say that Pho does the best curry in York, and I have tested it many times!! Everything else on the menu is perfection and it is a great place to sit and eat too. Special mention for Melissa for excellent service the last time we went.

Wouldn't come back here, the food was ok not to bad to eat but not something very good either, i didn't liked the fact that we had a big sparking water that we didn't opened and asked that we can return that the waiter after hearing this she said we can't do that because it comes already opened and proceeds opening it in front of our eyes bubbles comes out of the sparking water..... it was awkward af, after that i paid and got out and then i looked at the receipt and saw on it optional service charge added on the bill almost 5 pounds.. yeah so there you go, how could i write a nice review ? We come from sheffield to enjoy Christmas markets and have a nice evening out, wouldn't come back even if its everything for free because i had tummy pain all night, and the only strange thing i ate that day was that curry soup.

First of all, I want to say about the Person who served us: a young blond girl with glasses and jeans . She was very disrespectful and unprofessional. I pay 40£ for : 2 soups, water and tea . OVERPRICED . I asked her to delete the water because it's unopened and untouched. She says she can't do that because she already put the water on the table . Are you funking kidding me ?! SHE OPENED THE WATER BOTTLE IN FRONT OF ME ! And then she charged EXTRA TIP FOR HERSELF 5£ WITHOUT ASKING ME ! I saw the Receipt after I left the Restaurant . Very rude that girl . If you keep all young people in that place you not gonna have customers. HOW can someone not erase a funking bottle of water from an order. We are a joke to you ? And she opened ! I wanted to come back, but because for this, NO THX .

We chose to eat here whilst visiting York as I've recently been diagnosed as coeliac and Pho came highly recommended as predominantly gluten free. It didn't disappoint. The food was beautiful, and the cocktails were good too. The only downside is the portions were huge and we couldn't finish it all. Wouldn't stop us returning though.

The Noodle soup was very delicious. The chicken is Halal, I would recommend it to everyone

Super service, and I love that the menu is all dairy free and mostly gluten free which works well for the dietary requirements of my fam and friends. And best of all it is absolutely delicious 😋

If you have any kind of allergy to anything this is the place to have dinner. My wife struggles to find any restaurant as to where she can eat, yet she struggled to find what to eat here as there was so much choice for her. The staff here really really take care of you if you have allergens in the preparing of food down to even checking that your ok to eat it. The variety of food for people with allergies is immense for once. Eat here you will not be let down and you will struggle to decide which is a great thing for once

We had another great meal at Pho tonight. Our waiter Tom was absolutely excellent, diligent and attentive to our needs and dietary requirements. One dish was not to our taste and he changed it very promptly. We were so grateful and it made such a difference to our special family get together. All of the other food was fresh and delicious. Thanks again Tom (and the chefs behind the scene).

Came in super late as we both got stuck at work, Cait was super welcoming and we ordered promptly. Half way through our food we got a decent check back that meant we had time to ask for our bill as we didn’t want to prolong their close by coming in so late. Incredibly welcoming, we didn’t feel rushed even though we came in so late and even still we had the same service you’d expect from a restaurant at their peak opening times. If you haven’t been to this Phō then you’re missing out. Solid set of staff.

Food was gorgeous especially the crispy spring rolls. Staff were extremely welcoming and very friendly in particular Sally. Drinks were delicious too Our dogs were greeted with a bowl of water and a fuss. Loved it so much we ordered take out the night after. It was just as lovely

The food was awful and inauthentic + stale and mouldy?!!! Also did some research and there trademarking the word pho which is the Vietnamese national dish meaning AUTHENTIC restaurants can't use the word at risk of being sued. Bad food + bad business practices. don't waste your money go to a local chain ran by people who know what a real bowl of pho tastes like xoxo

Delicious as always. This location is a brilliant one. Wonderful staff, very attentive and welcoming. We’re vegan and gluten free and can eat most things on the menu. We can highly recommend the tofu and mushroom curry, the bun noodles, the pho and the fried noodles. We absolutely love the green papaya salad too which is super fresh.

Delicious, flavoursome food. Friendly staff who explained all the herbs that were included with the pho as it reads my first time in Pho. Highly recommended

We visited Pho last Sunday evening while visiting York. We didn’t book but was well looked after. Service was attentive, venue was fantastic and food amazing. I’m quite fussy but found food on the menu to my taste. I had the chicken curry and rice and to this day is the tastiest curry I’ve had in years (and the rest of our party agree’d) Highly recommend🙏

Hot, good taste, very good price

They gave us very poorly prepared, lukewarm, bland food with no authentic Vietnamese flavors. I have no idea how this place can be rated so high. Maybe it's because tourists may not know great Vietnamese food like we have the chance to experience going to many excellent real authentic Vietnamese restaurants all over. The good points were the ingredients were fresh, the restaurant layout is fine and the waiters were both friendly at first.

Excellent food, so much flavor. Waiter was very helpful and the whole staff is extremely knowledgeable and careful about gluten free handling, so it’s a great place for celiacs!

Very good restaurant, nice atmosphere. Exceptionally good and authentic food. The staff (our waitress was Sam) is also very attentive and accommodating.

The best meal we've had in a long time. I had the beef with bettel leaf followed by the fish curry special. It was amazing. Hubby's starter of summer rolls followed by Chicken noodle pho was very tasty too. The only disappointment of the meal was we had no room for pudding! We'll be back soon.

Had the hot and spicy chicken noodle soup. It was not actually that spicy but still tasted really nice! They also kindly added an egg to my soup at my request. Lovely service and very attentive staff - also very easy itemised bill split and student discount :)

We got the spring rolls and summer rolls which were both great! We loved the peanut sauce. Then for dinner we got pork rice bowl, beef curry, and meatball vermecelli. Everything was delicious especially the curry! It was so good i forgot to take pictures lol

The food here was amazing. The menu has so many dishes to choose, plus the majority are healthy. There is also a specials menu. I had a fish curry which came with rice, portion was decent size and the sauce was soooo good. If the weather is good, there's a lovely seating area out the back. Staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely visit again.

wow worst experience ever, after told by the receptionist "manager" kate they can't make food for group 7 or more and yet there are more than 7 people behind that went in, twice both lunch and dinner time. What a horrible customer service. The owner really need get a new manager. 3 groups behind us had no reservations, because we did ask them. P.S. our group contained 4 adults and 4 kids, if this restaurant are not welcome kids it should say so, rather than making excuses of we are short staffs, we can't make food for party 7 or more. Yet continues welcome 3 more walking groups as we were standing there for 15 minutes. It is OK to omitted mistakes are made rather than manager lying about it.

We had a lovely meal here, sharing some starters between 4 people. Everything tasted fresh and yummy, staff were very friendly as well!

The food was bad to be honest the only thing that was quite good was the replacement curry we got for the wok noodles which were flavourless like all the rest of the food we had. The waiter who was the manager was really understanding and got us replacements very fast which we appreciated a lot. However wouldn't come again sorry.

Absolutely lovely staff and amazing food. I was feeling a little under the weather and came from Wakefield to York just for this pho, it did not disappoint. The food came out piping hot and was exactly what I needed. Cait in particular was so lovely, she was so warm and polite. I would absolutely recommend coming here. They have veggie options and the chicken is halal!

The menu was quite extensive, and a lot are GLUTEN FREE. I had green papaya salad, fresh and crunchy but not enough chilli or peanuts, altho if I had requested earlier the waitress said I could have had more. My friend had a curry, again quite tasty.

I had a tofu Vietnamese curry with cauliflower rice - tasty, not too hot. Kind of rustic bare wood layout which looks good, and good service.

What a place and what service, served by Kate and Manika, both wonderful and really took care of us. I'm definitely an awkward eater due to intolerances and they worked with the kitchen to make sure I was accommodated. Both had beautiful meals, exceptionally well cooked and served. I know chains can sometimes be much of a muchness but Kate and Manika made it feel unique and not just a out churning through a table. If you're in York I can't recommend more highly and only hope you get the two of them serving you!
