Popped in with husband and grandson for a quick lunch before visiting Cutty Sark. We each had ham and cheese tartlet with excellent salads and coffee. Very friendly staff. Good value for a little over £20

Had a fab lunch of coffee and bacon sandwich and ham and triple cheese toastie. Water available. Handy location in Greenwich.

Expensive for a small cup of tea and a tiny piece of very nice carrot cake at nearly £6. I suppose it's to catch the tourists in Greenwich but boy was it stingy.

I’ve ordered scrambled egg with avocado, smoked salmon and herbs. It was a delicious dish. Orange cake was nice but dry. Carrot cake was so delicious and moist. I liked the cinnamon in it. It was difficult to finish it because it was too sweet. Nice employees, cosy and relaxing place, medium-high prices.

This place used to be amazing and a place to go for breakfast, lunch etc. The cakes are clearly frozen as wet and the texture of the sponge is stiff. This has happened the last three times we have been there to the point where we mentioned the staff and just got a shoulder shrug, same response when we asked about nuts in the cakes…better options in Greenwich. Avoid!

Always my favourite stop to get dessert. Their lemon meringue pie it is one of my favourites. Honestly, today (23 April) it felt that they used more salt than need in the pie recipe. But the meringue was still great. Lovely to finally discover that they are dog friendly. So many times I went to buy dessert and let my dog out as I wasn’t aware. A tip would be have a sign informing they are dog friendly

Lovely cafe with a cool ambience staffed by nice people. The selection of sarnies was a little limited but what was available was absolutely delicious, including some great veggie options. A great little lunch spot.

Wanted a space to work with a hot chocolate. £4 and 20 minutes later I had the smallest cup of hot chocolate I had ever seen. Definitely don’t come here to eat - Bircher muesli was on for £7 and a small sausage roll will knock you back a fiver. I’m a Londoner so not expecting it to ge cheap but this is a bit of a joke.

Very popular and lucky to get seats. The toasted sandwiches are great as is the coffee. Great location, service and atmosphere. Not the fastest service but all fresh. Expensive but good value

**If you have an allergy, double check. Do NOT rely on the individual cake lables. Popped in for coffee and cake with my mother who has a dairy intolerance. Everything on display clearly labelled. Mum had three choices; pan au raisin, apple and raspberry cake, and chocolate and raspberry muffin. All had no milk lable on. We double checked at the till with the allergen folder. Good job. Pan au raisin and choc/rasp muffin both have dairy in. My mint hot choc with oat milk was delicious. Hot choc powder also has dairy in, but that was fine. Lovely cake. Just please be careful

The coffee wasn't good. The coconut chocolate didn't have coconut flavour. We had to clean the table ourselves. Extra charges for staying in but still served on paper cups

We had lunch here today and it was delicious. We both selected the quiche which came with a tomato salad and also a green salad. The quiche was delicious with a crisp pastry and yummy filling. Of particular note though, was the lovely service. Thank you for remaking my cappucino after I had let it become cold!

The service was extreme slow, the portions were small and cold when served, and being insulted by a waitress. The drinks took a long time to come and there was a gap of over 30 minutes between the main and desert courses. The experience was so bad we actually left whilst waiting for the sweet course to arrive.

Peyton and Byrne sells great cakes and is always my go-to when in town. Sometimes it can be hard to find a table, as it it can get quite busy.

We only dropped in for a quick coffee and hot chocolates and normally I wouldn’t submit a review for such a fleeting experience but the frosty reception we received as we entered and ordered really made the visit rather uncomfortable. I don’t expect fawning adoration...

Disorganised, cold due to air con being thrashed, paper plates and plastic cutlery. Uncomfortable seats. Nice cakes.

My son and i had a lovely lunch , reasonably priced in very pleasant surroundings. The most striking thing was the impeccable manners and service of the young blonde manager. Well worth another visit.

The coffee is average and overpriced and wasn't even hot. The service was slow and the server was so rude. Instead of saying hi and politely asking me what I would like she opened with "what". She was perfectly fine with the man behind me...

As cafes open in abundance this will always remain my favourite. Love the friendly staff, amazing coffee and delicious loaf carrot cake. It’s always such a pleasant experience and enjoyed reading my book sheltering from the rain earlier before my beauty treatments

Really lovely. We got breakfast which was very tasty, and it wasn’t a bad price at all. The staff were very friendly, and it’s decorated really nicely too.

I have been drinking coffee and enjoying baking goods here since 2018. They bake excellent carrot cakes, brownies, muffins, as well as savory bakeries like quiches. I also enjoy the taste of their Double Espresso very much. They picked the right coffee beans.

The place and the cakes are so good (especially the carror cake)! Last time we had different hot chocolates to take away and drink in the park So good and tasty! I suggest the coconut hot choc, with whipped cream and crounchy coconut flakes on...

First visit here this Sunday - the most flavourful smooth coffee we have ever tasted - good service - felt safe during this COVID crisis - can’t wait to go back. Cake was excellent - moist and light.

Visted cafe on saturday lunch time. Ordered melted perfection with ham tree cheeze, pickles and tomatoes. It was made to perfection melted in my mouth. The best toastia i ever had. Highly recommended. Well done. Definetly will come back for it.

We went to Peyton and Byrne for some tea at around 4.20pm. They have a nice selection of tea, the hot chocolate was nice and the pastries and cakes looked very yummy. Unfortunately we were served in a non recyclable take away cup to stay...

Buscaba una bakery típica para tomar un café y algún dulce, y bueno me tome un roll de naranja que no estaba lo tierno que debería estar, la música demasiado alta para una cafetería, debería ser más tranquilo, en general todo tenía buena pinta no se si quizás ya no escogí bien

The Quality of the goods in the window made us go in for breakfast and we were not disappointed. We were invited to try the Power Bowl - an enormous feast of Muesli, Fruit Salad, Yogurt, and other goodies like Poached Pear all for £6....

I visited with my dad as we were seeing the sites for the day as it was his 84th birthday. The staff in here are really lovely and they really made my dad feel special. The food was very good. We had breakfast in there....

My husband and I popped in for coffee. We arrived separately, my husband had got his drink but went up and ordered & paid for mine. Fifteen minutes and several customers later he had to approach the counter again as they’d forgotten us. Not great...

Very slow service. Staff either badly trained or mentally challenged. We ordered takeaway cakes which were very disappointing, particularly given their high price. Don't bother.

I’ve been came back after months and it’s been all the same as I’ve been passed here last time. Amazing atmosphere and wonderful foods, in particular Lemon meringue pie and three cheese and tomato. I strongly recommend it who ever passing by Greenwich and desire passing few minutes in a good ambience, tasting some good food!

Nice place and great display of cakes in window attracted and weren’t disappointed. Had 2 large coffees and a Croissant and partner had a Carrot Cake .

I think Oliver Peyton is wonderful on Great British menu, & having walked past this cafe many times when visiting Greenwich Market, this trip our timing was perfect when we were up for 'a cuppa & a fine piece' to quote my travelling companion! Service was friendly & efficient, & as it was extremely busy we ended up sharing a larger table with a local couple with whom we had a lovely chat. We did indeed have just have tea, coffee & cakes (I can thoroughly recommend the blueberry yoghurt muffin!), so this review is 5/5 based purely on that, but much of what other people were eating for lunch looked very appealing indeed, so we would definitely explore the menu options further on another visit. Really nice atmosphere & staff we encountered were all very pleasant, also surprisingly well priced given the location & the high profile foodie-wise of one of the names above the door.

Cake!! and what cake, the three of us each had something different, my tangy orange sponge was delicious and my flat white - the best I have had in a good while.

Visited Saturday. Nice shop with delightful cakes on show which entices you in. Friendly staff. Lemon drizzle and coffee/walnut cake delicious. Other food looked tasty.

Nada muy destacable pero en general un espacio cómodo con variedad de productos de pastelería y buena carta de desayunos.

Tasty poached eggs on sourdough with mushrooms and parmesan followed by a perfect flat white is the best breakfast around. The restaurant is very clean and organised. The food is presented very well and the friendly efficient staff makes it my favourite. Thoroughly recommended 😋

Visited with family and very disappointed that only 1 gluten free cake available which was dry and stale tasting. Plenty of choice for non gluten free free. Good range of teas. Friendly staff Expensive

Estaba deambulando por Greenwich hoy y vino aquí a tomar un café y algo de comer. Fue atendido por alguien que podía aprender sobre el servicio al cliente; cuando pregunté sobre la limpieza de la mesa que aún tenía un montón de platos sucios de los clientes anteriores, me recomendaron que la limpiara yo mismo.

Today i had a 5 stars lunch. Im odered a chiken supreme with a summer salad. Chiken was soft,crispy,tasty and obergine salad with basil yogurt was absoulity delicious. Defenetly come back next time when i will wisit greenwich. Highly recomended.

Tuvimos un buen almuerzo aquí en un sábado muy ocupado. Los bollos y las tartas de salchicha eran muy sabrosos. Seguido de pastel de zanahoria y pastel de crema de chocolate y chocalate. Toda la comida era fresca y muy sabrosa. Vale la pena una visita. La única observación es que el café negro largo era en realidad una pequeña taza de café.

coffee blend used to be delicious , now v generic , not much difference to Costa. No gluten free options apart from 1 cake , worryingly have eaten the gluten free only cake previously now to be told oh it has gluten ?!?!?!

Llamado para el desayuno alrededor de las 9. 30 el miércoles. Bonita decoración y asientos, y un montón de espacio alrededor de mesas. Elija el tocino, los champiñones y el huevo escalfado en pan tostado con un pan blanco. No muy ocupado y el servicio fue rápido y eficiente. La comida era buena, el tocino crujiente era difícil de cortar, pero todo sabroso. Definitivamente recomendaría una visita.

I had almond Mocha and slice of Victoria sponge cake ,coffee was lovely I think the best in Greenwich and cake was so Fresh. Definitely I'll go again with my wife .

By the time I got in for a late breakfast just after 10 there was hardly anything left. Service was slow, coffee mediocre. Comfort 6/10. Just very average.

After my last visit here I have vowed not to return as each time I’ve visited (about 4 times now) the customer service has been terrible.

I visited this cafe in Greenwich and the service was appalling. Firstly I waited in a short queue for about 10 minutes before being served. Some customers behind me left. There were a lot of staff on duty so I don't understand the reason for the slowness in service.

Petite pause dans ce café pendant la visite de Greenwich, nous n’avons pas été déçus. Super bonnes pâtisseries (la banoffee pie est un régal) et de très bons thé avec beaucoup de choix. Les prix sont corrects (7 livres pour un thé et un gâteau sur place).

As a local I would love if this place is better. Unfortunately I do find the customer service not that great here. The coffee was ok but has went down hill lately they have started to use lower quality alternatives milks. The cakes are mixed one day was amazing the next is old and dry. I really hope they can improve the service and the quality.

23Apr19 Another great visit to Peyton & Byrne in Greenwich - As usual the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. I had a fabulous cup of coffee with the added bonus of the best "Latte Art" I've seen :-) (pic uploaded). the food was fresh and tasty as usual

We order a flat white coffee, latte and vanilla chai tea, plus a Victoria Sponge and banofee pie, all good but the Victoria Sponge was great with natural strawberries, highly recommend. The place is modern and cozy, fabric paper in the wall cool lamps and comfortable chairs. Perfect place to take a break and enjoy the cakes.

The coffee was served lukewarm so I asked for it to be heated up, but more hot milk didn't really help too much. The ham and cheese sandwiches were nice - I chose one of these as they were not on the open display. I have mentioned this in a review before, but I find it disconcerting that much of the food is displayed on an open un-refrigerated counter with customers brushing by and talking to each other very close to the food.

Vandaag hebben mijn vriend en ik hier samen ontbeten. 2 broodjes tosti met ham kaas en augurk. Nog nooit zo vol gezeten door een ontbijt. Natuurlijk 2 gebakjes meegenomen om op te eten in het park. Prijzig maar elke pond is het waard!

Visited on a very busy Saturday lunchtime. Nice look, inviting offering and an upmarket cafe vibe. I was served by a charming young lady who couldn't be more helpful. The food all looked inviting and I wasn't disappointed with my choice.

Nicely decorated and with comfortable seating, Peyton and Byrne proved the ideal choice for brunch. The staff were charming and welcoming, and even on a busy Saturday ensured very good service. The range of light lunches together with a wide selection of patisserie is impressive. We would not hesitate to call again and will look to visit other Central London outlets.

This place looked very nice from the outside, however once inside it was dirty. The seats in particular were dirty and heavily stained. The cakes and sandwiches were not covered or in any type of refrigerator. This was at 2:30 in the afternoon so goodness knows how long they had been there. In addition half the teas on the menu were not in stock and staff on duty the day I went there were not helpful

Tea and cake good. Service average. Cushioned seats stained and grubby. Light fittings covered in dust. How clean is it where we cannot see?

Popular place as we had to queue (it was Sunday!) Delicious cakes and sandwiches with an unusual twist - we didn't eat today, but have resolved to go back on Tuesday to try the well presented fayre. We just had coffee this time and it was good. I liked the fact that we didn't have to queue once our order was taken - it was delivered to our table. The only thing that slightly put me off was the cakes displayed on the counter very close to where people were queuing with no cover over the cakes - people were brushing near to them with their coats and talking, with the body fluids associated with talking. Would like to have seen at least some cellophane over the cakes, them being so close to the customers.

I wanted to visit this place from long time so I came here for lunch. I was rushed by the woman at the counter to choose so I decided to eat a soup and than I told her to wait because I needed more time to decide what else u wanted to eat and drink so she looked at her colleague and rolled her eyes, the shop was empty by the way. After 10 seconds her colleague asked me if I wanted a Coffe and I said no. I finally decided to go for the soup and a salmon quiche for £12. The leek and potato soup was disgusting I could not swallow it because it was full of black pepper and dill, terrible. The quiche and salad were nice, but average. I said to the waitress when she came and collect my dishes that I couldn’t eat the soup because it was horrible and she looked at m and said okay after she went in the kitchen and said to the manager and both started laughing. Once out they kept staring at me but no one actually came to ask me what happened. Lack of management, control and customer service is obvious. Having a good display doesn’t make you a good business.

Peyton & Byrne are a fairly well-known bakery with a published baking book to show for it.

The cafe has relatively little seating so finding a table can be a little problematic at busy times. There seems to be a lot of wasted space that could accommodate a few more tables. The cakes look great but the ones we tried didn’t really deliver - a bit of a disappointment considering prices are quite expensive - £3.50 - £4 each. Since the shop is very close to the market as well as being in the high street, it is well placed to catch passing trade.

Looking for somewhere quick for feed. The menu looked great, we found a table and enjoyed the food and coffee. Staff we very polite, toilets and place were very clean. Would go back again.

Popped in for some coffee and cakes around brunch time. Served quickly. Cakes and coffee were good. Good selection on offer. Very clean and tidy place. Worth a visit.

Everything looks delicious what makes hard to decide but after a couple of minutes I finally got a fabulous banoffee pie as take away.

We visited with a small baby and buggy and were welcomed despite the small space. The sandwiches were interesting and delicious and the cakes tremendous. We’ll be back.

We went there for breakfast. There was not a wide choice but the porridge was excellent. Waitress service once order taken. A nice place, different to other establishments in Greenwich. We will definitely visit again.

Good place for a good breakfast. Very british in character and menu. I like their scones! Good wifi also and very central. Service is good.

Situated right where all the tourists pass by and looks good from the outside which is why it’s packed. Had the lemon drizzle which was way too dry and disappointing. The banoffie pie was ok.

Very hit and miss but the most recent visit was not great at all. I always order the same thing, tea, toast and preserves (comes with marmalade and jam). On my last visit, I was told they only had jam (for a place serving breakfast, how do you not have marmalade at 11am on a Saturday?). I asked why they didn’t have marmalade and she said ‘for scones’? I said no, for the toast/preserves. She said ‘we’ve never had marmalade’. I said I’ve had it before here and she said ‘when??!?!?’. Right, ok next time I’ll be sure to take a photo to PROVE what I’ve eaten before. I explained I’d had marmalade the last 3 times I’d visited. She looked at me doubtfully. What a pleasant exchange that was! I ordered the porridge instead and wasn’t surprised to see they’d ran out of honey too. Clearly stocking the basic breakfast ingredients, staff being aware of what they serve and the ability to be polite and friendly is lost on this place. Shame.

Great food and coffee! Only downside is this place gets very very popular especially at the weekends and it can often be difficult to get a table. You can wait in the doorway if you wish but it can sometimes be a while - I guess a good reflection of the cafe! If you can get a table, it's worth a visit.
