Pepper Pot in Cherwell

Quick visit on a Friday night, it was very busy and quite noisy which wasn't what we were looking for. Limited menu as it's not part of the Marston's chain any more

Great place to drink just a shame you have to walk through a cloud of smokers smoke to get in the place but other than that friendly staff and good beers

I like it, locals pub. I Didn't have an food so can't comment.

Excellent! Tastes like your mum’s roasts ! This Sunday is seriously made with love! They have a fantastic chef called Julie who knows how to cook! Tasty juicy meat, cauliflower cheese, crispy roast potatoes, stuffing, loads of different veg, Yorkshire pudding loads of gravy and you get loads too! I ate every bit! Extremely good value for money. A banging Sunday roast every time! I come every week as my Sunday treat and it’s not expensive! The photo explains all!

The food is SO good, it's relatively cheap and you get quite a lot. Chicken wings were spot on, I just had to take them home. It wasn't an excruciating waiting time either, they were pretty quick to serve. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well. The outdoor seating has shelter, so you can sit outside any day. However, food is only at specific times when I went, so you might need to check before you go in. Lots of parking too.

Just been in for Sunday lunch with the family turned up last minute best move the pub and staff was amazing helpful and the food was out of this world I'm probably one of the most picky eaters ever and I could not fault the food highly highly recommended plus its clean tidy and kid friendly

It asked what meals I can recommend but I only had the roast dinner but most of the items mentioned here were on the menu saw them they looked good but didn't actually try them.

Urinals do not drain and have not drained for months. The whole pub smells of urine and is very unpleasant for those wanting to eat.

Cracking Sunday lunch. We love the Sunday lunch at the Pepperpot and have been coming here for years. Good quality food and service. The kids meals are good value too with ice cream for £1. 😀

We have had many great meals here - if you like Stilton cheese and mushrooms, I can definitely recommend the Black and Blue Burger! But, tonight we tried the Tuesday Chicken Curry. Absolutely spot on :) Fresh and tasty, with a lovely samosa on the side. There are several strengths, and a Thai. Just say what sort of strength you like when ordering, and you won’t be disappointed.

Popular and quiet pub during the day, means you can have a conversation. Real ale👍🏻well kept and delivered. Can imagine this is a pub you could have a good night out in.

We visited this pub for a Sunday roast for myself, my husband and our 4 children, the experience was brilliant from start to finish, everyone was kind and helpful, especially Dean behind the bar, he was extremely bubbly and chatty and made us feel well looked after, the roasts dinner itself was delicious, they were also very accommodating when it came to swapping items around on a breakfast meal my daughter ordered, Overall, great experience, will will definitely be back 😁

A lovely, charming pub with a pretty beer garden. I enjoyed a lovely meal here with my family on a warm Saturday and the staff were friendly, helpful and patient even when my 2yr old was throwing her peas on the floor! We had a group of 8 so it was lot of people to cater for but the staff were complete professionals and saw to it that we had everything we needed for a good meal. The food was hot and delicious, the chips especially were lovely and crisp. Overall a lovely meal out.

Great place to eat with the kids, friendly & helpful bar & kitchen staff. Dean at the bar looked after us, lovely guy & Julie served our meals. Highly recommend the hunters chicken! Something I usually avoid as the chicken often dry, but this was cooked to perfection (thank you Julie)! & the kids meals were a good size too for the money. Definitely be back again :)

Enjoyed straight forward food without all the spicy stuff. If you want it it is there but taken away if not required. So for me accommodating for a very picky eater. Staff friendly. Different from the other places when you walk in very welcoming.

Picked a random pub just off the M40 on the way back home to the south coast. 2 roasts and 2 drinks for basically £20 friendly pub manager, a typical geezer. pub needs a bit of TLC but seems a friendly place. roast was like being back at school , but was actually really tasty and the gravy think and plentiful . You can certainly get more fancy looking roasts, which don't taste this nice. This was the complete opposite.

Fabulous classic pub grub, no frills, just good,honest food, served by a lovely team from the young guy behind the bar to the lovely ladies serving & in the kitchen, sorry, didn’t get your names but you know who you are! We were visiting my sister in law to celebrate our nephew’s birthday and had a fab meal & experience, highly recommended!

I have visited many times for different reasons and each time has been a positive experience. Food is consistent and the service is impeccable . I would reccomend other people to visit here as you will have a joyous time . Warm atmosphere with lovely decor

We went to the pub for a late Sunday Lunch and we were so impressed with the service and value of the beautiful meals. We will definitely be going back again.

Had one of the homemade pizzas and I have to say it was honestly the best one I have ever had. Freshly made and nice and spicy.

Decided to try the Pepper Pot pizza night, absolutely fantastic! Fresh home made pizza and delicious sides, reasonably priced as well. The food is always good here and we enjoyed some of the burger take always in the lockdown, highly recommend the Pepper Pot !

I have eaten here a few times in and out. The food is absolutely lovely, well cooked and tastes amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone. The staff are polite friendly and welcoming. This is a fantastic place with a lovely atmosphere and I shall be returning. Huge well done yo all the staff.

Food was FANTASTIC. Freshly made Pizza and sides, lovely and tasty. Service from bar staff was safe and quick! VERY good and would highly recommend! Will be back again.

We arranged a surprise Birthday meal for our daughter with family and close friends, the staff were really helpful in making this happen. They set an area up for us with plenty of space and tables. We pre-booked our food and added on extra while there which the staff were really good about, the food was really nice and plentiful. The kitchen doesn't usually open on a Tuesday but they still did this Birthday meal for us which was so kind. Social distancing is in place here well set out and they have a large garden to sit in.

Very friendly staff. Went out of their way to make sure our evening was stress free. Well laid out for social distancing food was really nice all types of burgers and pub favourites. Sticky toffee pudding with custard just perfect to end on. Will return

Well done to Julie and Mirra the burger chips and salad was just what was needed tonight. Decent burger and chips. Not like a McD thin burger and french fries.

Once again perfect place for lunch, lots of choices and food is always served piping hot and puddings fabulous. Atmosphere always good and staff always on hand to help.

We love the Pepperpot, and we’re always made to feel very welcome. We love their Sunday roasts which are tasty and fantastic value. Their beef and horseradish is the best! Their regular menu is great too. I had a lovely steak last week which was cooked perfectly. The kids are always welcome too and they put on great parties for them. One at Halloween and one at Christmas. Thanks team

I have been coming here for 3 years since moving from London. I've never had a bad night and the food is unbelievable for the money. Would recommend to anyone and regularly do.

Stayed at Premier lodge and this was recommended and an easy walk but found on arrival due to wedding earlier was not serving food. The barman suggested we got a Chinese next door (excellent food) and then gave us hot plates and cultery to eat it in the pub which was realy good. Very frendly local people and enjoyed the experence with live music later. Never had such good service in a pub.

I have to mention the Pepperpot pub (our local) we enjoy the food regularly in fact I’m enjoying one of their Burgers as soon as I’ve finished this We love the banter the safe atmosphere and much liked monthly music acts they provide not too noisy that you can’t speak enjoyment everybtime

Lovely food & drinks here at one of our locals but what is with the live and very loud music most Saturdays?! Granted it only goes on for a couple of hours but as a resident in the area have a bit of consideration for your neighbours...the bass is so loud & in these summer months we can't have the windows open at all! Not impressed for a family-friendly run local.

I am a Truck Driver who was stranded at a factory until 22.00.I was out of hours and in need of food.I was too late for the takeaways in the area and happened to chance the open "Pepper Pot" Banbury.I was informed by the Bar Tender that the Kitchen shuts at 20.00 but he would speak to the Landlord.On his return he asked would Sausage Egg and Chips do, I said hmmm ...that would be great. He said pick a seat and I'll set you up.The food arrived 10mins later piping hot and let me say a truckers portion to boot.The Bar Tender was attentive and the food was superb.The Landlord was courteously requesting feedback and was even apologetic for using Breakfast Sausage as he had run out of his Dinner Quality Fare...you would not have noticed for sure.Can not fault the experience and I am pleasantly reassured that there are some decent folk still around willing to help a needy grafter outMANY THANKS

Nearest local pub to Premier inn Banbury where we were staying. Reasonable size estate pub, very friendly bar staff. real ale pub but only had one type when we went. Food was excellent I had steak and ribs friday special and my wife Scampi. really good value and quality was reasonable considering price. The food appears to be run by different people to pub and was only open until 7.45 on friday so you must check food opening times.Was quite busy but it was a friday night, landlady made us feel welcome and was nicely chatty. Would recommend it if not too fussy over food, just well priced pub grub.

if you like real home cooking this is the place for a Sunday roast....just like your Mothers. we havnt tried the mid week menu but if its like the sunday one it must be good...

The Pepper Pot is our local pub so go fairly regularly. We arrived last night after a long busy day at work to order food, we had just missed the food times but the landlord opened the kitchen for us and cooked us a meal! Had a delicious burger,chips and salad. Amazing customer service and great atmosphere.

It was very busy as the Toby restaurant nearby had closed but the service was still amazing and we had 3 fussy children food wise in our group.we asked if they could cater for a vegetarian no problem. Staff came round to make sure we were ok despite how busy they were a great experience and great value. Really good for a family Sunday roast

Visited last weekend for a sunday roast, friendly service and good food. Pub could do with a refurb but I would recommend a trip to others.

The staff are super friendly and the service is great both myself and partner had food couldn’t fault it, great portion size,delicious food! All round great atmosphere.

A couple of 'Boon doggles' in a pub which was patronised by a large amount of locals. We were the only out of towners by the look of it. TV's Games machines and pool table if that is your thing

Not a bad place, parking, garden area for the summer, pool tables, quite small really inside, is ok, had a few drinks there recently. Nothing amazing, but ok, nice. Often attracts a few people from the nearby business parks, industrial units at lunch time.

Intentamos visitar un grupo de madres y bebés después de nuestra clase bebé local. El lugar estaba vacío, aparte de otros dos clientes. Y nos sentamos a empezó a recoger, carritos de bebés de abrigos, etc. En medio de este la casera vino y nos preguntó bastante repentinamente si quieres pedir algo, a lo que contestamos que sí, almuerzo y bebidas. Nos sorprendió bastante su actitud hacia nosotros - todo lleva más tiempo con un bebé, que estaban poniendo en el menú! Mientras estábamos buscando uno de nuestro grupo fuimos al bar, pedimos una silla alta y me dijo la misma mujer (bastante) que repentinamente que no tenían ninguna. Nuestro miembro del grupo dijo que estaba sorprendido por este, teniendo en cuenta que llama una "familiar" pub - todos los recibió en respuesta una mirando. En este punto nos empacamos nuestro bebés y nos fuimos a otro lado ya que eran claramente incómodos. Una pena realmente, ya que podríamos haber hecho un encuentro semanal después de nuestra clase de bebé y otros comentarios pintura tales una visión diferente.

Visitamos Banbury de Birmingham para una fiesta de cumpleaños para amigos y todo el mundo fue muy amable. El personal del bar nos recibió con una sonrisa y nos ayudó con la tarta de cumpleaños manteniendo fresco en la cocina. Este pub es tan cálida y acogedora con una chimenea. El ambiente es agradable. Aceptaron nuestros amigos fiesta de cumpleaños y un DJ para tocar música genial. Las bebidas tienen un precio razonable. No comimos allí, pero entiendo que la comida a ser muy bueno.

Felt like a very friendly relaxed place. Has a great Sunday roast and kitchen service was good too. And unbelievably.... a roast beef dinner for my daughter and I only cost £10 (adult £6.50 / Child £3.50). I've been in on my own since and had the jalapeno burger, its bang on... Its a proper burger! My daughter (9 years old) has already asked if we can go back again for Sunday dinner.Shame there wasn't any real volume on footy on TV though.

Very lovely family pub the staff and management are very polite and will be happy to make you feel welcome and enjoy the atmosphere it has a bouncy castle for the children and a lovely clean garden for all the family to enjoy.... the food is very very good I would give it a definite 5 stars!!!

Me encontré con este pub cuando nos para un paseo en nuestras scooters. Decidimos probar el asado los domingos, y tengo que decir que fue probablemente uno de los mejores asados que he probado. Increíble relación calidad-precio. El personal era muy amable y había un ambiente encantador. Sin duda, recomendaría este lugar y volveremos

Just turned up on the off chance of getting some food and was surprised when the bar staff told me they would would serve me anything off the menu but as it was Sunday I thought I would go for the roast fantastic I had the beef well I think I made the wright choice it was fantastic the staff where very pleasant I'm looking to move to Banbury and I think I will look to move close to this pub it's fantastic they have a pool table darts board and live music they also do a beer called boondoggle it's a good real pint all in all its a fantastic pub very friendly give it a try you won't be disappointed

Arrived quite late for lunch at 2:20pm and was pleasantly surprised that they were happy to fit me in even though the kitchen closes at 2:30pm.The jalapeño burger was delicious and very meaty (better than some steaks I've had), it was served with more chips than I could manage. I recommend asking for a doggie bag! It was also reasonably priced at £5.95.

We arrived at 'The Pepper Pot' half-way through a 15 mile walk around Banbury and the surrounding villages. We were cold and hungry and the Sunday lunch really hit the spot! The pub was warm and welcoming (as were the staff) and we really couldn't fault the food. Two meats, plenty of veg, and all the trimmings. It was so good we felt we should try the home made puddings. We weren't disappointed. For honest, good food, this can't be beat.

We went for the Sunday roast. It's was lovely food (especially the puddings!!). Friendly staff and I would certainly go again.

Popped in here today on an off chance, having got frustrated by the service given at both the Toby Carvery and F&B's near by, feeling rather down hearted. I was however very pleasantly surprised. The pub itself had a great feel and the food, which was served promptly was splendid, and very well priced. Will definitely visit again.

If you want good fresh food at good honest prices, Look no further that the Pepperpot.Really friendly staff, lovely hot food delivered in good time to exactly your requirements.I will definitely be visiting again and again
