Popped in at a lunchtime today when my son wanted cheesy chips for lunch. It was very quiet in there. Didn't take long to get them. Got home and we opened them up for our son and they were hard, luke warm and about a spoonful of cheese on them. You could tell that these were last nights chips that they didn't want to waste but they weren't even really edible as they werent fresh. Not what you want when you pay for them as you expect fresh chips!! Very disappointed as there's no need to have last nights chips being served. Wouldn't go back again.

Whenever we visit Falmouth we always visit penmere fish bar..I usually have plaice & chips & it's always freshly cooked & perfect..chips are also excellent..good service whenever we go in.not local so only every now & then.

I rang in the order. Spoke to a lovely polite young lady. All very efficient. Called to collect at the agreed time. All ready and well packaged. Very efficient. Excellent fish/chicken and chips. Well cooked, plentiful and tasty. I don't live in the area but when my family visit Falmouth which is fairly often this is where we go for fish and chips. I have always had good food.

The fish and chips were very nice and very hot.

Popped in for take out fish and chips. Freshly cooked fish whilst we waited ( appx 10 mins) . Tasty chips too. And at a fair price. Parking can be a bit tricky at peak times. Recommended

We popped in while driving past, asked if they did a veggie burger and was told no in a very unfriendly manner. A man shouted out from the kitchen loudly “ Did they just ask for a veggie burger” and sounded totally disgusted and the woman behind the counter took great pleasure in saying “No, and all our chips are cooked in beef dripping”. Up to them what they cook their chips in but no need to be rude and aggressive to customers. We ended up going to Harbour Lights in Falmouth, very polite staff, lots of veggie options and don’t cook their chips in beef dripping.

I tried the fish and chips a couple of times from this place and seems to be fairly okay/good. However, I was quite hungry and decided to order a cheeseburger but the mistake I made was to ask the guy cooking to make the burger juicy. Well he decided to undercook the meat and I ended up with food poisoning. Had a terrible next day and made me never want to visit this place again.

Not a bad chippy. As most in the area and most things in life, fish portion size is suffering shrinkflation and prices are up. Fish was cooked lovely mind you. Salt and vinegar was very light bording on not being able to taste. Chip portion size, however, was good and they were cooked well. Friendly and quick service.

Superb! Freshly cooked & delicious!

Sadly after using this chip shop for 26 years I will not be returning. The sausage was quite poor and the chips were very oily and undercooked. It's has been going down hill for a while which is very sad.

The staff are amazing. They endeavour to meet your dietary needs. They are very pleasant and intrue Cornish style ready to share a yarn and a joke.

Amazing fish & Chips with great service, highly recommended. We called up and pre ordered for a certain time, the Staff were super friendly, order was ready pretty close to time... they get SUPER busy so just bare that in mind. Then the food... holy smokes it was soo darn tasty, Haddock was full of flavour and just so fresh. Then the chips... my word... they are just so darn tasty and super morish, but you don't get alot with the "fish & chips". Next time I would grab the fish and a small chips separately. I was told the chips are cooked in beef dripping and thats where the flavour comes from... solid 9/10 for the food... amazing and highly recommended a visit. There isn't much parking and with it being very popular the roads get blocked up.

Fish was greasy, the chips undercooked and soggy. Won't return.

Visited the chip shop last Wednesday evening, upon collection of our order asked the assistance for the nearesrt corner store, couldnt believe how helpful the manager was. Wanted to say a huge thankyou. To finish the evening the chips were delicious when we got back to our accommodation.

Lovely staff, mediocre chips and sausage, inedible, overcooked, cheese burger, dry as a camel's tongue after a 3 week waterless journey in the Sahara Desert. Lovely cod bites. Will be giving it a miss next time.

When we arrived there were a few people in there. We only ordered two bags of chips. About 4 minutes later a woman came in who the owner new, they started chatting and the next thing you know she's being served two bags of chips! He then goes in the back and leaves the staff out front to carry on serving. I then had to carry on waiting about another 3 or 4 minutes before I was served my two bags of chips. When I mentioned this to the lady who was serving me she just laughed. I even said I'd never be back and she carried on smiling and laughing. Absolutely disgusting service. I don't care if people know each other, you still wait your turn. As you can see in the photos, the chips were barely cooked and a lot of them were disgusting and also there was a hair in the chip bag. For the cherry on top, they over charged me which I did not notice till I've checked because of other bad reviews and the lady did short change me 40p which I did notice and she argued until she realised she was wrong. They've done this short change trick to me 3 times now! It's a habit not a mistake. Definitely would not use this place again.

Terrible service, I placed an order to collect. Nothing major just 2 small chips one of them with a battered sausage and 2 curry sauces. Hardly a complicated order, however some how you co fused what I asked for 4 times. Then when I arrived someone else was served a larger order than mine first, then to top it off everyone else seemed to have their chips in a box and I just got everything in a bit of paper thats soaking wet in grease by the time I've got it home. No level of care whatsoever!

The wait for other customers orders of fish and sausages to be cooked before they serve you a simple bag of just chips is simply unacceptable…..order in advance and collect as you can be standing around for 15minutes

Ordered through Kernow eats. Driver couldn't find my house. Food was cold and greasy by the time it arrived. Chips piled on top of fish so batter was soggy and stuck to box.

Had some chips here this week - never been before. I'm sorry to say that they were awful - little bits of chips, completely soggy in grease and tasted like old oil, none of us could eat them. When you sell yourself on simple fried items like this, you really need to do it well. I'd be ashamed of tourists got this as their example of local food.

Sat in the restaurant and had the special offer, cod, chips, peas, bread and butter and a cup of tea £10.50 excellent value and best fish and chips I've had for ages

By far the BEST fish and chips I’ve probably EVER had - hot, fresh, incredibly tasty and generous portions. Not forgetting the friendly service of this beautifully run, family business - especially dear EMILY, the youngest daughter of 5 girls who was a delight to talk too - I can’t recommend them highly enough.

We visited twice during a family holiday, both time the staff were exceptionally friendly (even though they were very busy). The food was excellent quality and very good value. There was lots of choice on the menu and it was all freshly cooked. Highly recommend.

I used to use this establishment on a regular basis a few years ago, but owing to a change in circumstances haven’t been in for a while. I won’t be coming back! The piece of cod was okay but rather small. The chips were AWFUL and went in the bin.😡 I felt robbed of £18.

I have been a customer of this establishment for the last 52 years, starting as a young boy on holiday with my parents and visiting every year until becoming a very regular customer after moving to Falmouth full time 10 years ago.I have great memories of excellent food.I stopped using the dining room about 4 years ago after the size of fish diminished. Four months ago I relented because of the happy nostalgic memories of being there with my late parents and found the fish even smaller. This week I again succumbed as I so badly wanted to remain a customer at a venue so important in my life.I ordered a standard Cod plus large chips and 2 mushy peas. Everything was good including the staff( despite being overcharged by £1.30 which was very politely refunded) EXEPT the Cod which I estimated to contain about 2-3 ounces of fish instead of the 7 ounces I've noticed elsewhere.I felt cheated. It is with sadness that I will not return. It is only fair to say the shop looks to be busy so apparently other people are happy.

Without a doubt the best chippy in town. Their skin on Haddock is my personal favourite (cod bites used to be pretty good value too). Also the cheese and onion fritter is great if you like something other than chips.

Best traditional fish and chips in Falmouth by far!!! After going to many in Falmouth, this is by far the BEST. Really tasty, cooked really well, lovely staff, so much on the menu to choose from. We live it!! Keepin it real fish n chips, no need for fancy silver fish in the pavement!

Chips very greasy compared to other chip shops, sausage seemed child size. Not what I expected at all. However, service was fast and friendly.

Called on our way back from Porthleven heading to Carnon downs caravan park Sunday at 4pm. We were asked whether we wanted skin on or off the haddock of course on for full flavour in my case. It was the best fish and chips I've had for a long time even the mushy peas were a different class. Will definitely be back! Thanks a lot keep up the good work.

I only ordered chips, which they had mountains of, but I had to wait for everyone else who ordered fish etc to be given their food before mine? So I wanted 15 minutes after ordering for a bag of chips. However, good value and the chips were nice 👍
