Even package won't believe it is biryani. I don't understand why these people are using Indian food name rather cooking authentic Indian food taste. Very poor in taste. I would recommend the chef if you want to prepare delicious biryani. Please stop using and spoiling in the name of Indian food.

I love Penge Masala. Best curry in London. It just tastes so good. I have ordered many times and it is always top quality, arrives quickly and is very reasonably priced. Only been to the restaurant once. It was very quiet but food still top notch. Highly recommend.

Fui a Penge Masala el 03 / 07 / 24 para cenar con amigos. No me impresionó, pero comí algo de comida de todos modos. Alrededor de las 3 am del 4 de julio me desperté con dolores horribles en mi estómago y tristemente estaba violentamente enfermo. Desde entonces he estado muy enferma y esta mañana a las 7 am estaba de vuelta en el baño de nuevo. Una semana después sigo sufriendo de cualquier basura que me dieron. Nunca volveré.

Esta fue mi comida favorita, pero demasiados errores significa que no volveré a pedir. El primer error del año pasado me dieron un entrante en lugar de uno principal así que escribí una mala crítica en google. Nadie se puso en contacto conmigo hasta que pedí otra comida para llevar semanas después, donde el repartidor me dijo que el gerente le dijo que me dijera que retirara mi opinión. Hace unas semanas hice otro pedido. La comida estaba bien hasta que llegamos al naan. Pedí queso y me puse sencillo. La siguiente comida para llevar la escribí en las notas para asegurarme de que obtuve el naan correcto y en la entrega me disculpé, lo cual fue apreciado. Tengo Covid y demasiado enfermo para cocinar así que decidí pedir una comida para llevar. Pedí mi de siempre con un naan de queso. La mitad de mi vindaloo estaba por toda la bolsa ya que la parte superior se había salido del contenedor. ¿Tengo un naan de queso? No, no lo hice. Tengo uno sencillo de nuevo. Agregue insulto a la lesión que etiquetaron la bolsa de queso naan pero solo uno muy odiado estaba allí. No debería tener que escribir notas cada vez que ordeno para asegurarme de que mi comida es correcta. Les he dado suficientes oportunidades ahora, pero no volveré a pedir allí. Puede que mi familia, pero iré a otro lugar que realmente haga las cosas bien.

I have not eaten Indian food in England for a couple of years now and thought I would try it again. I always loved it, but I thought I would be disappointed, because I spend a lot of time in Goa and simply love the food there. I returned to my old favourite: 'chicken madras' and it was gorgeous. The chicken was succulent, nice, boneless pieces in a flavourful sauce, perfect. I forgot that they don't sell alcohol there, so I had to run out to buy a couple of beers. I did have a spoonful or two of the dishes my friend ordered and although not my favourites, they were both tasty. We shared a pilau rice, which was good, the portion, though enough, was rather small. I am used to bigger bowls of rice, that I then take home, to enjoy the next day. Overall a good, home coming experience, one that I shall certainly repeat.

Consistently authentic flavoursome good quality food for the last six years as a customer. I wouldn't order from anywhere else. It's the best

I ordered from this restaurant on Uber eats at 9:10pm and they accepted my order. The driver picked up my order which was £22 and I waited 40 min (it’s only a 20 min drive) only for my order to randomly get cancelled by the restaurant giving me no option to receive a refund! I have raised this with Uber eats and will not be ordering from here again.

Fantastic food so far best in the area, food was delivered piping hot.

The masarla was watery and rice coconut rice was very bland. Previously the masarla sauce was rich and thick and the coconut rice was brilliant. Not very pleased with dish. May not go there again. Previously they sent me my dishes extra hot and blamed me for ordering wrong. The person behind the counter was very rude. He could not even find the order he took over the phone which seemed very dodgey. Not pleased at all. They promised me a free meal but that never happened. They keep bashing on about how good there meals are but this was yesrs ago. Definitely gone down the pan.

Terrible service. I've called 3 times and have still not recieved my order. They say its a busy day but looking at these Google reviews it's just a common occurrence. PLEASE DONT ORDER FROM THEM. YOU'LL BE WAITING AGES AND GET A RUDE REPLY FROM THE STAFF.

The food here is absolutely delicious. This is my go to place when having a meal with my family.

Had a delivery last week, it was amazing, the chicken tikka jalfreizi was the best I have ever had. The Keema nan was just as good. The only thing was the delivery time it took nearly 90 minutes. However just had the delivery again today, delivery time was excellent and the food was even better. Well done Penge Masala! 5 stars !

Delivery is always really slow and late, I have to call to chase every time I order as it's always well over an hour. We live close too! Latest order we waited 1.5hrs, I chased it, it arrived cold, and they then had the cheek to tell me it was because it was cold outside when I rang to complain - it had clearly been sat on the side for a considerable amount of time. They agreed to refund me a small portion of the order value which never turned up in my bank. I've given them enough chances but I'm now done with the terrible service

Food took an hour and 45 minutes, food was freezing, 2 items were missing and our ‘butter chicken’ was a korma. I had to call the restaurant 5 times to find out where my order was, I was told twice it was 5 minutes away! And I waited 20 minutes between calls

always late! Today is the third time they forget my order. I made a reservation at 5pm so that it would be delivered at 6.30. After 40 minutes waiting I called them asking about my order and they told me that the kitchen had made a mistake and they thought it was at 7.30. The food arrives at 7.30 and is cold!!! How is this possible? I will never order food from this place again. and I used to order once a month! Furthermore, they treated me very unfriendly even though it was their mistake.

Very yummy! First time ordering - really great food. Definitely need to work on delivery times as it took 90 minutes but it really was worth the wait, on this occasion :)

Pretty good! Curries delicious. I get the feeling it's more of a takeaway as the service was more focused on this - drivers sat inside waiting for orders.

my cousin and i Went here last Sunday 18/6/23 We walked in to the restaurant there was No staff there We sat down a guy came from the kitchen and we ordered the food the computer Kept dinging and the atmosphere was 0 due to they were more interested in the orders for delivery and Then constant guys coming in-and-out collecting the deliveries When we were leaving there was no staff again until we were nearly closing the door and someone came out from the kitchen we said goodbye we would have been better off ordering a delivery for home never going to the Restaurant again.

I always have amazing food from here. It's my go-to place for curry, always full of flavour, hot and delicious. The man who delivers is also usually someone who works in the restaurant and he's always super friendly. Standouts are Railway Lamb and Cox's Bazaar Chingri.

Undercooked fried foods, only 4 prawns for £3 extra. Rice is disgraceful

My go to Indian takeaway but the last few have been a huge disappointment. Late delivery and turning up cold. Todays one took the biscuit. Ordered via their app. A meal for one. I looked at the main courses and decided on a lamb tikka. The only available one was lamb tikka starter (in the main course section of the set menu) I assumed this was a typo and even stated in the notes it was a tikka main. What turned up? A starter. So my main meal consisted of lots of rice and 4 pieces of lamb. So I’ve spent £19 on 2 starters, rice and a naan bread. Gave feedback on the app but not had any sort of reply. Think it’s time to find a new delivery place

Terrible l ordered a delivery on Monday 27 March 2023. I ordered about 7pm but never received it until 9pm and it was cold never got a reply when complaining and l paid 40 pounds for this l will never use this place again

Absolutely love the curries from here. Always so fresh, loaded with flavour and piping hot. Super friendly service too.

*Edited my review as I understand the complications that evening. Order took around 90 minutes to arrive, which is long even for a Saturday. Unfortunately when it did arrive it was missing a Garlic Naan and some dishes were cold. Chicken Tikka Korma did taste very good, it’s just a shame about the rest of it.

I ordered a delivery and my delivery was delivered to a different address. That person it was delivered to bought it to my address. It was a late order but that shouldnt matter. I called the restaurant to report it but was held waiting for 25 minutes and kept calling back until it said it was closed. I think they recognised my number and ignored me. I am furious and want to report them to somebody but don't know who.

I am writing this review in response to that of David Lloyd. As the restaurant owner says, the review is both unfair and untruthful. I live on Thicket Road and have a photo of the fallen tree in question because I reported it to the council and the police. It blocked not only the road but the pavement too, and crushed a car. This caused major traffic tailbacks in the local area, as the road is a one-way street for part of its length. I have reported this review to Google. Mr Lloyd's review is a shameful and immature effort to undermine an honest, hard-working local business in difficult economic times.

Really disappointing - lied to me.. The menu looked great but they phoned to say they couldn't deliver as a tree had fallen on my road even though I could see there wasn't one. I told them it was clear but they insisted it wasn't. Not sure why they felt they had to lie. Left me with a really strange feeling - Firstly getting no food and then trying to gaslight me into thinking the road was blocked when it plainly wasn't.

This is my favourite Indian takeaway. The food is always hot, fresh and very tasty. I recently tried a mango chicken dish and it was absolutely lovely. Highly recommended 🌟

Pilau rice came yellow. Mushroom rice came spicy. Tikka korma chicken wasn't even cooked raw chicken is a vile thing to send out The only item ordered that had no issue was the papadom plain because you can't really mess that up. I will be visiting in person with proof of your chefs inability to cook

Every time I visit this restaurant, they surprise me with the dishes we order. 1st time we ordered Chicken Tandoori and never in India, I have never seen presenting Chicken Tandoori as Sizzler. And for Aloo Chat, if it was in India, boiled potato mixed with chat masala, chilli powder, sweet sauce. But here in Penge Masala, they fry the potato and sorte it with tomato. And they serve with the Poori, that we have it along with Chole Batura. During our recent visit, we ordered Chicken Chat with Puree (Poori) and Chicken Nuggets with beans and fries. Chicken Chat with Puree was very nice and taste of the Chicken Chat was literally like Chilli chicken. Chicken Nuggets were very dry and if the restaurant could provide a ketchup along with it, then kids would have it happily.

Visited for the first time after moving into Penge. We had Tandoori chicken and for the 1st time, they served as Tandoori Chicken sizzlers. For kids we ordered Chicken nuggets with chips and peas. Overall a new experience with taste and service being good.

Great curry, the only thing missing was a beer

Good food, but delivery times can be unreliable. We like their food, but our large orders of vegan food take them a bit longer, so it's worth bearing that in mind if you're looking at the estimated delivery times on Deliveroo. Now that the Dewaniam's new management have dropped their vegan menu, there'll be even more demand for Penge Masala!

Absolutely disappointed ordered via Uber eats ordered Lamb Jalfrezi was so tough & hard couldn’t even cut the meat that bad !! I phoned to complain and to change to get chicken was told no to complain on Uber eats and get your money back !! That’s not good customer service I had to cook in the end !!! Even sent the wrong naan bread had meat inside so couldn’t even eat that so disappointed.

Came at 7:30pm, ordered and paid. After I paid I was told it would take 25 minutes

Absolutely vile. Vegan ‘Rogan Josh’ SWIMMING in oil. There was no sauce at all - everything you see is literally all just oil. Opened it, took one look at it and chucked it in the bin. Disgusting.

Went to the restaurant to dine in . Started ordering no smile from waiter he informed me the food I was ordering was sweet in a manner I didn't like . I will order what I like thanks !! . My other half asked him to explain some of the food it was like putting him out his manner was mmm !! Place was clean food was nice . Be thankful you have customer. Service with a smile it doesn't cost anything 🙂

Just went to order the potato passanda from the vegan menu and although ut is marked as vegan it is most definitely not! Glad I rang the restaurant in advance to double check! They need to get their menu sorted out before they send somebody to hospital.

Best quality, most reliable for take away/delivery and always friendly. Could not recommend any other Indian food place in penge over this one.

Before the pandemic, I was a regular and very satisfied customer of Penge Masala BYOB restaurant. I visited today for the first time after "Freedom Day" and was very disappointed. They have either lost their chef, or the chef has lost his mojo. The food was not up to the standard that I had experienced previously, especially the lamb tikka, which was tough, chewy and too salty. In addition to the disappointing food, their prices have been increased by around 30%. I know restautrants had a hard time surviving during the lockdowns, but they are not going to win friends and encourage customers to return by fleecing them. All of their fruit juices were unavailable - no excuse; just go to the local corner shop and buy some; you can do at least 100% mark up, by the glass - just sheer laziness. The friendly greeting I used to get had also disappeared. They may well have lost a regular customer.

One of the worst meals I’ve been served - drenched in oil and sugar, and some elements uncooked. I wrote to the restaurant privately but they didn’t reply.

Ordered direct over the phone, old school style. Absolutely delicious. The chefs deserve a prize. Ordered a chicken tikka paneer (extra hot) and other things; our family all agreed it was one of the best curries we've had in years. Compliments and many thanks to everyone there!

Great customer service (ordered by calling direct rather than online) and the best curry we have had in the last 20 years. We have king prawn rogan Josh - juicy and delicious , spicy but not burning hot and chicken korma the meat was succulent and sauce was perfect. Naan bread and sag aloo were also good. Highly recommend to everyone!

Just to point out that you have given an incorrect response to my review of December 2020. I did not receive any refund via JustEat for the meal as you state (and it is now almost 4 months later so plenty of time for it to have come through). I am aware of what cooked lentils taste like and I assure you the bhajis were not cooked in the middle. This was not the first time I had ordered with you -I had ordered the same dishes a number of times previously via Uber Eats so was well aware of what they usually taste like. Thanks. Would appreciate if my refund could be issued.

I was tempted by the clever marketing of having won awards that was displayed in their window and I was so pleased I gave it a try. I've had a couple of take aways now and the food is always excellent. Best Indian take away I've tried for a long, long time. Also reasonably priced which is a distinct bonus.

Spot on. Food was lovely, chicken was so tender and fresh. Good polite delivery and fantastic value for money, the mixed starter was fantastic a taste sensation. What keeps me going back to them is their consistency. Keep it up! 👍

Ordered takeaway totalling almost £16. Drink was entirely missing, onion bhajis were all raw batter in the middle and went in the bin. Aloo Chop also not cooked properly in middle, got a few bites out of them then in the bin. In all, £6 worth of the order was actually consumed! The food that was edible was good. Phoned restaurant to complain and was told by a friendly and apologetic member of staff that the matter would be referred to the manager regarding refund, at least for the drink which was entirely missing. I did stress I expected additional refund for completely inedible food, but drink would have been a good start. 2 days later with no contact attempts from the 'manager' or appearance of refund in my Paypal account, I can only assume the apologetic manner and promise to refer on is simply a way to get dissatisfied customers off the phone. Not good enough! If I didn't have a sprained ankle would be turning up at the restaurant door in person to claim my money back! If you are reading this, Penge Masala, please respond to let me know when I can expect the partial refund.

Having looked for a good curry house I found this one not only is it good but it is great the food is amazing the portion are really good always first class food and service weather delivered or when eaten in won't use any other since eating from here once you have tried you will see why 5 stars for sure

The person who is in charge of reviewing customer reviews doesn't understand what customer satisfaction is!!! Just like me, on Just Eat, on numerous occasions, customers were literally insulted for leaving negative reviews. Well, too bad I gave them a 4 stars there and got a nasty reply. You can be as rude as you want, but you just lost a potential customer and pretty sure your way of handling customer complaints will force others too to follow the same path.

Very disappointing today when we ordered the takeaway food. We found a piece of cracked glass in the onion bhajias. We were terrified and didn't go ahead to eat the remaining food. Spoilt our evening.

We visited this amazing small restaurant this Saturday with our family and I must say we absolutely loved it. Despite being really busy with their takeaway orders they managed to handle the situation quite well. Food tasted very nice and the fact that you could bring your own alcohol made it very good value. Friendly staff and very good atmosphere. Would visit again :)

One person taking orders on the phone attending tables and sorting out takeaway orders too much for one person to do The food was nothing special either some of it seemed to be re cooked not fresh ,bland and in my opinion overpriced sorry won't be back

Anniversary treat- a take away from Penge Masala. Delivered fresh, piping hot and delivered promptly. Food as good as eating at the restaurant. They kindly gave us few freebies as well which was nice. Great place to eat!!
