Fabulous cod in crispy batter with chips. Batter cooked to perfection 🤩Excellent service and spotlessly clean. Comfortable chairs and just across the road from parking area. Takeaway and sit in. We sat inside large portions and freshly cooked.

Pity about drinks This fish restaurant has a really good menu the service is second too none and it’s so clean. BUt buyer beware, if you need a milk alternative take your own. Because even though we have ask several times they still don’t do any The staff tell us they have requested , but management decline

Just the best fish and chips around. Popped in after Christmas shopping for late lunch and, as always, found the staff friendly and attentive and the restaurant immaculately clean. Cod and chips as great as ever and my husband loved his Pelican burger. No room for Puds here!

Great value for money with excellent Cod and Chips. The portions are so big, the second time we went we ordered the smaller portions, which were more than adequate for two pensioners. Good service and attentive staff, but the queue was out of the door at 6pm on a Friday night.

Can be a bit busy especially if a big party is booked.Went there on Friday and not disappointed.Lovely light batter and great chips.The Pelican is our local gem

Visited Pelican Fish Restaurant. Nice polite staff but found the chips greasy and inedible ended up in the bin. Sorry guys but a waste of my money. ☹☹

Gute Gerichte und sehr gut Besucht. Die Preise sind in Ordnung und das Restaurant ist sauber und die Bedienung freundlich. Wer jedoch einen abendfüllenden Restaurantbesuch plant geht vielleicht besser woanders hin, denn im Grunde ist es eben ein „Fish and chips shop“. Das soll keineswegs abwertend klingen, sondern die doch zügige Bedienung beschreiben. Um gut und unkompliziert kurz was essen zu gehen ist es für uns eine gute Adresse.

Beautifully fresh Cod in a light crispy batter with chips and mushy peas. The dinning area is light and has recently been refurbished. Service is quick, five minutes from ordering to on the table. If you prefer to eat your chips from "paper" there is an excellent take away counter.

The Pelican in Barnstaple justifiably enjoys an enviable reputation but having taken over a very well liked Mr Chips in Bideford the settling down particularly in the restaurant has been slow. We have eaten there twice since the take-over but do not feel it yet matches the previous offering. Indeed on the first visit the waitress apologised for the potatoes. For dining in they have dropped the option of 2 pieces of fish and one portion of chips.

This week was the first time that we had used the restaurant side of this excellent,take away Fish n Chip shop. I can not rate the shop & staff highly enough.The restaurant is very clean as are the toilets.. it's must be one of the very best restaurants in England can not fault it ! apart from a cracked mirror at the back of shop top marks we loved it and will come back ASAP

Love coming here, it where we go for a treat. The atmosphere is warm and buzzy and so genuinely helpful.Every thing is freshly cooked and is MSC fish, and very good portions. The Chips are real potato, not composit potato powder and cooked to perfection.

Went here on Sunday night and what a great place. Sparkling clean and bright. It’s not just a fish and chip shop it has a very good menu and great puds. Staff were very attentive and we didn’t have to wait very long for our piping hot work. The batter on the fish was thin and very crispy just how it should be. Great value for money. Although they have a takeaway as well as the restaurant and they were both very busy nothing was too much trouble and we were served with a smile and a thank you when we left.

We go quite often and it is a must visit place when the grandchildren visit us. Great quality and reasonable prices with good service. Highly recommended

El pescado Pelican restaurante ha sido renovado, desde nuestra última visita, el pescado y patatas fritas, el servicio es de muy alta calidad, grandes porciones, si usted visita no te decepcionará.

Estupenda comida, buenas porciones de tamaño. recién preparado, patatas fritas y unas. Buen pescado de calidad. Tuve el bacalao y la ensalada que realmente disfruté, la ensalada era fresco y al lado, y mi esposa los Scampi, gran parte, y dijo que los mejores cigalas. Ambos disfrutamos de nuestra comida! Se volvería allí de nuevo.

Nos dieron una comida para llevar desde aquí un domingo por la noche. Una buena parte de tamaño y buen gusto, no la he probado, pero no era nada grasienta o, que siempre es una ventaja para mí. Lo suficientemente bueno para mí volver de nuevo.

Soy una remera así estoy en Bideford racing al menos una vez al año - a mí y a mi equipo a menudo a los chips al final de los eventos de los días para la cena antes de la larga caminata de vuelta a Plymouth.

Mi novia y yo disfrutamos de una maravillosa comida en este restaurante en el que comimos. La decoración interior fue tranquilo pero muy animado y bien cuidado que ha ganado puntos enormes con nosotros. La comida se sirve a nosotros por un personal amable y estaba delicioso, fresco y caliente al último bocado. Las raciones eran más de lo que podíamos pedir! Mi novia manifestó que era el mejor bacalao que ha probado nunca. Este restaurante se había pescado apropiada y patatas ajustaba! Sin duda recomiendo este restaurante a cualquiera que visite la zona de Bideford que está buscando pescado y patatas fritas.

The Pelican has been enlarged since we were last there. We had the standard Fish and Chips which were hot and a full plate. The fish was heavily battered, a bit greasy and I left the bottom half along with the fish skin. The chips were O.K.Service was good though one of the servers could use a little work on his personal hygiene - not very appetizing that. Not the best F&C in the area.

Loved the fish and chips. Service was quick and efficient. Recommended to my by my sister who's a local.

Every meal people ordere is always and I mean ALWAYS is cooked properly very handy for college kids and school kids walking home and locals in the area.

Large selection. The fish on the batter is always perfect as it's not too thick. Best chips too. Never had a bad takeaway from here.
