Delicious Food! We used the Groupon deal and had 5 tapas and prosecco. Everything is really fresh and tasty, favourite is the Duck Bao Buns, Pork Belly and Mushroom toast. Really nice location and great service, everybody is super friendly! Nice atmosphere for mid week also! Thanks for a great night

We recently ate at Peel One with a Groupon Voucher. For only £24.95 we got 5 tapas dishes and 2 glasses of Prosecco. We were greeted by Alex who looked after us all night, nothing was too much trouble. We could choose from the main menu or from a list of specials. 5 dishes were more than enough and we ended up taking some chicken wings home which we had the night after. All the food was delicious. Would highly recommend the tapas deal or they do great burgers, salads etc. Its a great place to go for a mid week treat.

Despite opening times stating they are open till 10pm on a Sunday we were turned away as we stepped in the door at 7 for cocktails, apparently they’d just cashed up! No wonder this place is always empty.

I had a fab meal and drinks with my Daughter last week. I had a veggie burger which was really tasty and my Daughter had pasta. Great service and made to feel very welcome.

I have been coming to Peel One for many years, always for the delicious steak nights. I booked online for a Wednesday as it states on their website steak nights are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. When we arrived we could pick a table we wanted as it was empty. We looked at the menu but it wasn't advertising steak night. We were told the offers on tapas but decided to go for the steak anyway.Mine was very fatty, couldn't eat most of it and my friends looked thick and juicy but was tough and chewy. The onion rings were overcooked.The lady who was serving was great, however, the food just isn't the same as before. Please change your website as it is false advertising.

Peel One has been a bit up and down over the years. We visited on the Saturday of Marsden’s Christmas Lights Turn On (catch the illuminations while you can!) using a voucher for a free bottle of wine. Service was lovely and our hanging kebabs very tasty. All far better than their sister restaurant up the road. Only shame was how quiet it was, everywhere else in Marsden was busy but only a handful of other guests in Peel One.

We visited and were surprised to find the one and only Caitliyn Jenner manning the bar! Caitlin was brash with a broad Yorkshire accent but still pleasant. Amazing food and fab environment

Fabulous food, great selection of drinks, very accompanying for our allergy needs, chef was lovely and even drank with us after the meal with was great. Would defiantly come back again especially to see “matt” he is so lovely and very knowledgable! Nice to see such professionalism in a great bar! Hope to see you soon!

What a great place! Fabulous tapas and grill! The kebabs (both meat and veggie) were dangly skewers of scrumminess! They kept the restaurant open especially for our party of 8 which instantly gained them browny points. I opted for 3 veggie tapas dishes, which whilst lovely were a bit heavy on the butter. In fact everything was a bit heavy on the butter which was a shame.

Would highly recommend. Alex is amazingly friendly and made us her ‘special’ Kiwi Daiquiri that should definitely have a permanent place on the menu, my new favourite drink!

A friend of mine recommended this restaurant. Oh.. our waitress was fabulous but the food was not. The hanging kebabs were suggested, a disappointment. The beef, chicken and prawn kebabs were ordered by our family and all three were pants. service slow but restaurant empty but given a very!!! Expensive bill. Really not worth the cost. We did explain our disappointment to be told there was only 1 chef on. It was a Saturday evening. We won’t be back.

Peel one is a lovely bar for all family and friends, for either a chilled drink or really nice food, bar staff really nice service from Ashleigh and Alex.

Randomly pulled up on my motorbike with my mrs across the road for a pint and this place stood out, order a brilliant hanging kebab and some tapas and every single bit was brilliant. The awesome member of staff even went out to get me my favorite whiskey as they had none in stock. Price was extremely reasonable also! MEGA RECOMMENDED!

Ordered pretty much one of everything from the menu and we have no complaints. In fact everything was absolutely delicious! Service is a biggy for me and it was equally as fantastic! Huge thumbs up for the King Prawns and the mouth watering Belly Pork was like nothing I’ve tasted before. We will be back!!!

I came for my birthday and it was brilliant we ordered everything and it was all great I recommend the Duck Bou Buns

Came for the famous Tapas as recommended by a friend. Possibly the best Tapas I’ve ever had. If you like Thai, try the Duck Bao buns, we ordered 2 more afterwards for desert! The nicest meal I’ve had in a long time. Service is spot on, so helpful, and they even helped with a cake, balloons etc. Delicious!

Good choice for vegans and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through.

Popped into Peel One for lunch. The service was great. We were seated immediately. Food came out very quickly and was very tasty. Great for the money! The lady who served us was lovely and ensured we were happy with our food. :) would recommend!

I booked for all my family,we all had different meals and they were all excellent they varied from prime burgers to 3 course Sunday roast..Drinks and cocktails are still very good. Nice selection of ales and lagers at good prices.Ideal for family meals or tapas and also for Steak night for two.I have tried them all as i go to this restaurant quite a lot.Staff are very pleasant ,helpful and very obliging.Overall an excellent all round restaurant.

Lovely restaurant. Especially like the glass room above the river which is nice in the summer months. Service is good and the food is also. Very friendly and welcoming.

Service was poor from the start, no real continuity of service and took a long time to order, receive courses and get the bill. Ordered the Lamb skewers and Prawn skewers which consisted of 6 prawns and 6 small pieces of meat respectively and about 15 fries on the largest place ever seen (which if they thought about actually makes it look worse). Really not worth the £13 per dish no salad no vegetables that’s it. Go to New Inn or Mozarellas instead. Very poor! Won’t be going again!

Dirty table wiped with a smelly dirty cloth on arrival. Drinks service slow and sloppy presentation of an Irish Coffee (cream slopped down the outside of the glass). Sunday Roast Beef dinner was appalling. Beef practically still alive and fatty, cutlery wouldn’t even cut it, vegetables tasteless and sparse. Charged £9.99 for 3 batons of carrot, a stem of broccoli, a Yorkshire pudding, 2 roast potatoes and a small taste of Beef. Waitress never offered to address the problem when asking during meal if all was ok and just walked off when we said No, it’s awful. Will never return, worse meal out ever.

Turned away from Mozzarella’s so we came here instead - really glad we did. Excellent tapas with a good vegetarian range. We sampled 11 or 12 different dishes and not a dud among them.

We came for a meal not long back and dont get me wrong the food was "okay" and so was the service but since the original owners the byrams I think it was, its flame has died..it seems to no longer be the place it once was with hardly any customers and also its atmosphere has gone...sorry guys hopefully it improves and we will be back

I go here often, foods always nice and the cocktails are nice. always great service. it always does seem a bit quiet though so i dont know busy it gets.

Visited on a Saturday night with my friend. Only popped in for a few cocktails but ended up ordering tapas, the food was absolutely unreal and the cocktails gorgeous too. Great music, don’t understand why it’s not packed full because it’s definitely the nicest place to drink in Marsden! Leah the bartender was so lovely and helpful too can’t praise her enough. Can’t recommend enough definitely give it a try!

We preceded our visit with a walk along the narrow canal, including a trip on the shuttle service by barge along the canal' Most opted for tapas which were all delicious and enjoyed by everyone, including the one year old. Staff were were very friendly and helpful

Visited Peel One for the first time in a few months today to find it had new owners. Chose a selection of tapas from the menu to share with friends over drinks and did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, in particular the tempura broccoli and chilli & garlic prawns. Excellent service and food very quick to be served. Will definitely be visiting again, particularly as it's on our doorstep. Thanks!

Came in a group of five for a friends birthday. First time eating here and it did not disappoint. We had tapas and it was delicious, wide selection to choose from ,catering for all tastes. The service was impeccable, the young waitress was polite, friendly and very professional. We ordered cocktails from an extensive menu and they were so good. Beautifully presented and a lot of fun. The food arrived promptly was plentiful and hot. Could not find fault with anything, cant remember the name of it but the broccoli in batter was to die for. Great location, lovely atmosphere and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend Peel One

Having eaten here a number of times for Steak Night or tapas we came here for Sunday lunch. I had the Sunday lunch which was very tasty and plentiful. My husband was seduced by the lemon prawns as a starter then the Peel One Burger. He really enjoyed both - the burger was as big on taste as size, it’s not for the faint hearted! We washed it all down with an excellent bottle of Italian red. As always the staff were friendly and attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Great selection of Tapas, and friendly but efficient service with staff very attentive and genuinely friendly. Could it be improved?.. my only thought would be more variety in desserts being offered. Definitely will return here.

If you are trying new food we like the tapas style of food. To buy a main meal then write a negative review isn't fair when we might like some items. So we are happy with 90% of the tapas tasters. We also now know if we will come again. Staff friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable. Good food.

Just ate Sunday lunch at Peel One and cannot recommend them enough. We had the 3 course meal, with everyone choosing something different. Every single bite was perfection. It was lovely to be able to eat a 3 course meal and round it off with a lovely cocktail. Delicious!

We had an excellent selection of freshly prepared tapas. They also do steaks but we didn't try them. We had good beer and wine from the bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the price very reasonable. The decor is clean-lined and attractive. I wish we had a place like this near where we live - I would go frequently.

Had a very enjoyable early evening pre theatre meal here on a Saturday. We had the tasty Chicken Tikka salad followed by delicious home made apple crumble tart. It was good value and the service was friendly and efficient.

Had an early evening dining experience tonight which happened to be the steak night. £30 for 2 steak meals including a bottle of wine. We had the 8 oz ribeye which came with chips,tomato, mushrooms,salad,onion rings and a sauce.

We visited peel 1 on a busy Saturday afternoon and were greeted warmly by our hosts.

Got there at 12-05 pm still waiting for tapas at 12-55pm restaurant filling up people walking out, because they weren’t even served for drinks. Poor waitress trying hold it together, we were told that they only had one person in the kitchen because the rest had phoned in sick.

We dined at Peel One on Wednesday to take advantage of the steak deal. The meal was fantastic and staff really nice. Highly recommended

We recently enjoyed steak night at Peel One and had the most fabulous steaks cooked to perfection by Hannah. The food was amazing and the service excellent. You always get a warm and friendly welcome from Jamie and staff. Would highly recommend this great place for food and drinks, great gin and cocktail menu. Will be back soon.

We recently went with family to sample some fine food and drink in a great atmosphere... we were greeted by a great host that was attentive to all our needs, the food was just fab great portions and very tasty..... some of us had steak, the chicken tikka & mango kebab and the tapas lamb chop, belly pork & garlic bread within our family’s order....we will definitely without doubt be returning for another steak night or maybe another tapas...

Visited for the Steak Night, two for £30 and a bottle of wine. As it was out anniversary we upgraded to fillet steak! Was absolutely beautiful, cooked to perfection and the service was brilliant. Really warm and friendly welcome.

Visited on steak night - £30 for 2 steak and a bottle of house wine - all 4 steaks were cooked as ordered and the peppercorn sauce declared very tasty; others enjoyed their burgers and kebabs and we shared some nachos with chilli for starters. Those of us that had enough room fo a pudding sampled the raspberry bakewell or the brownie and they both tasted homemade and tasty.

I've said it before and I'll say it again! Wonderful atmosphere, establishment, service, £30 for 2 steaks with a bottle of wine (Knights steak = perfection). The proof is in what was left on our plates... uw! Not much x

Been here a few times since it opened, but since it has been taken over in January me and my partner had the most amazing time at peel one not just for the drinks but the food was also amazing, the staff are professional and the food is amazing, my partner and I have dined at Manchester’s top restaurant, Peel one is in the same level the price is good for 3 courses and the service is attentive not too much nor too little, if you want a relaxed meal at a great price this is in my top 3 in Huddersfield, young staff and good work ethic is a good key, more businesses should learn from this place, to the staff thank you for the great meal.

I last visited around a year ago. I liked the feel of the restaurant and the owners were nice and I gave a good review because I saw potential. Returning tonight I found that It had changed hands and here goes.

Recently had a change of owner. Peel One is a place we have visited over the last couple of years and are glad to say we will continue to do so with it’s new owners. The menu is great and the Yorkshire Tapas on Sundays is a really different idea. All the food is homemade, the soup my husband had was a meal in it self. Prices are very reasonable and the people are so friendly and welcoming. On top of all that it is doggy friendly in the bar area. Perfect!

Super location, great new table addition, food has always been amazing but drinks service was a little slow on our last visit - waited over 15 minutes for 2 x cocktails to be made and our table and needed wiping down. Seemed to be lots of children in at 6.30. Will visit again but maybe later on :)

We eat at Peel one regularly and find it consistently good. Our favourite is steak night which is excellent value for money and always cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive and we always receive a warm and friendly welcome. Can highly recommend! Our favourite place to go.

I have been a few times since it's reopening and each time has been a pleasant friendly experience the staff are attentive friendly and accommodating to your needs. I had steak which was cooked to perfection with home cooked chips which for me was a must (hate frozen chips). I have to say that I am not a fan of pepper sauce some places leave big clumps but their pepper sauce was the best that I have had ever. On my visits the staff are always engaging and welcoming. To top it off they also welcome dogs

I have been going to Peel one for many years now. It is a little gem in the middle of the hills! Service is always excellent, the beers well kept, the gin selection is awesome and for a small village bar - the cocktails second to none. A warm welcome is always guaranteed and I love the new subtle changes. The best food I have had is the tapas, great value for money too.

Having booked for an event in Marsden at 7.30pm on Saturday, two friends and my wife & I made a reservation for 5.45pm at Peel One which is only a few minutes walk to the venue. We arrived on time, were shown to our table and menus were delivered.

Absolutely superb valentines meal this evening with freindly nice atmosphere in pleasant surroundings.

We eat in here regularly but sometimes take for granted what a great place it is. The staff are always fantastic the food is consistently good and the price is very reasonable. To top it all I was given a fantastic birthday cocktail. Can’t recommend this place enough! We love it.

My husband and I ate here early on a Saturday eve, we had a reserved table which was in one of there booths . Staff were good very attentive and even though we was eating in the bar area was still quite private . We had mixture of tapas and an hanging kebab which were all very tasty , we will definitely return :)

Although weve been for food, I recommend Peel One more for drinks at any time of the day. It has a good selection of beers and wine as well as having a relaxed atmosphere great for couples or groups.

As strangers to Marsden having landed up there in the middle of the Jazz Festival, I reckon we were quite lucky to walk in off the street and find a table on a wet Saturday.

First visit to eat. Lovely place for a drink and the staff are really attentive. Disappointed with the food , it's ok but we wouldn't eat here again as it's nothing special . We would however come again for drinks as it really is a lovely place.

Meeting friends for a steak. Table for 4 on the balcony as usual knew what we wanted steak special (mon, tue, wed ) ordered at bar and sat down. to wait for our meal, place was fairly busy, food arrived we had fillet steak and or friends the sirloin as always, great service, great food, great company. Nothing else to add great evening out.

We rang late on around 8:30 for a table at 9, the woman on the phone was very happy to accommodate us. (Hate it when some get annoyed cause it's close to closing) We sat over the canal with what can only be described as beautiful! The ambiance in the place was perfect! (I didn't want to leave) We had the 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £30 deal! (Great value) Best steak I've had in a long while, along with a whole host of food to accompany it! The wine was also enjoyable, not cheap! Will certainly be returning!

Think I've already reviewed this restaurant but had to do it again with photographic evidence! Need I say more??

Had fajitas here along with nachos, best nachos I've had, all the food we purchased was lovey. Attention to detail. Staff are lovely too, Leah and Hannah going the extra mile to tell me what cocktails was the best for me as I like sweet things. Would 100% go back and recommend to a friend.

Visited Peel One last night for my 40th Birthday meal and it was absolutely brilliant. The staff were so friendly and lovely they couldn't do enough for you. The food was amazing, between the 8 of us we had the tapas, chicken and prawn hanging kebabs, burgers and we all thought the same absolutely top notch! Service was excellent. Lovely location and a really nice place inside. We have all said we will return to try the rest of the menu which has a bit of everything. One of the best menu choices we have all come across! Been here several times, by ourselves and with friends, we all love it, the service is great, its a relaxed atmosphere, in a nice setting next to the river, good choice of dishes, a gin bar, and great beers, try the steak nights Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, we always go for the fillet (£5) extra with a bottle of wine. probably the best steak in the world !

Came for my birthday and really enjoyed the pina coladas and other drinks the food was good and a reasonable price peel one is very clean and inviting will definitely be back

The meal was average. It lacked presentation and front line staff didn't add anything to the experience.

Great bar a favourite with locals in Marsden. Excellent choice of wines, gins and cocktails. I like the salads and platters that are very reasonably priced. I recommend this lovely bar for early evening drinks.

We arrived at this restaurant today to be greeted by 2 young girls running the front of house. These girls were friendly, at tentative and extremely professional which is hard to come by these days. The restaurant is very pretty and welcoming. The food was out of this world. My only negative is that I wasn't hungry enough to order more dishes. Amazing experience and this place has the best meat balls in the world. Well done everyone. One of the best tapas restaurants in Huddersfield.

We had 4 tapas dishes to start and the steak hanging kebab. It was delicious and reasonably priced. We had a beautiful view of the canal in a window table, staff very friendly, definitely will return.

Visited peel one this Easter weekend with my partner after seeing good reviews. I was fully disappointed. The staff where attentive but we seemed to be rushed. We had only just been given the drinks menu before she came straight back twice, the cocktail was warm and didn't taste fresh. When the starters came they where average and I'm glade we didn't get them as tapas for a main meal. Then the main came and my halloumi was only grilled on one side, the chips were dry and the salad damp. The staff were pleasantly nice but once you've ordered your food and drinks they become less attentive for drinks. After seeing the reviews expected great things and was fully disappointed.

Excellent food, quality service and staff who were smartly turned out and not like the ragbags you get in most places these days. A nice and convivial place which we will gladly return to!

First visit - it will NOT be the last! £30 (plus £5 supplement for fillet) for 2 steaks, sauces and a bottle of wine. Visited with the hubster as our Valentine treat. Magnificent starters - portobello mushoggs with halloumi, garlic and chilli king prawns, rib eye, fillet, fab homemade chips (all wierd shapes and sizes - just as they should be - crisp outside, fluffy inside, mushoggs, tomato, proper onion rings and silky sumptuous sauces - peppercorn and blue cheese. We shared starters, steaks and sauces - absolutely chuffin marvellous! THANK YOU!

We have visited peel one a handful off times and each time we have found the staff really friendly and helpful . The food is beautiful never had a bad meal there and the cocktails are a must .

We decided to go out for a drink & snack but with three men in the group who wanted more than a hot drink, Peel One seemed a good choice. Serving alcohol & delicious coffee, everyone was happy. Never having been inside before, it was warm, cosy and sat watching the river flow was very relaxing. Fresh out of the oven was chocolate brownies. The perfect accompaniment to coffee, it would be rude not to try some and it was delicious. The staff were friendly & it wasn't a problem to move tables around to create a large table for our group. We will be visiting again for either Sunday lunch or tapas.

Despite it being a busy Saturday evening delays where minimal, food starters & mains 1st class and very tasty, dessert extremely disappointing - choice of 2 and 1 was unavailable!! service requires working on. "Slapstick" at times, but not as off putting as having chef come and talk to next table for over 30 mins & although changed, the aromas of kitchen work were an assault on the nose.

This is our favourite place to eat and we try to visit every few weeks. The staff are superb and really attentive without being overbearing. The food just keeps getting better and I can honestly say we've never been disappointed. The chilli and cheese nachos are the best and prices are reasonable. The best place to eat in Huddersfield in my opinion .

This was the first time we've visited Peel One and were pleasantly surprised.The menu was great & it was hard to choose from as it all looked delicious. We ended up ordering burgers and they were excellent. It's nice to see "real" chips being served. Our friends ordered the steak & wine meal deal and they too said it was first class.The service was excellent, both friendly and attentive in the correct balance.Will definately be going there again.

Went for a celebratory meal with my wife, staff were friendly, kind, courteous and welcoming. The ambience was good although quite rowdy on the day as it's Christmas do season. Food was nice but nothing to write home about hence the average rating. If the food was improved then I may have provided them a higher rating. Overall not a bad place to visit for the locals

Make sure you sit in the new solarium. Always working hard to improve, the menu changes and is always good. Great service, great Gin menu, have the Kozel beer. My favorite restauant in Marsden.

First visit here. Sat in the conservatory part of the establishment,which offers a lovely view,even in the evening.Service was also very good.Ordered a selection of tapas, chorizo sausage, garlic mushrooms, sliced sizzling steak, croquettes, meatballs and finally calamari.All cooked very nicely.Very enjoyable meal.Pictures attached.Thankyou.

Visited Peel One on spec last Sunday without booking. The bar was fairly empty and they managed to seat us in the new conservatory area overlooking the river. Very nice seating area!!We ordered two fajitas for my wife and son and I had the hot roast pork sandwich with chips. The food was served by a very friendly waitress and was lovely. No complaints. Good portion size and nicely presented. We washed this down with two soft drinks and not driving, I had a pint of beer. Overall very good value and well worth a visit if in the area.
