Pedro's Fish Bar in Eastbourne

Very oily, soggy chips and the “grilled” huss was also very oily. The box it came in was saturated with oil. It all went in the bin. We won’t be ordering again.

They always put a leg of chicken in with hardly any meat compared to a breast . Waste of money

friendly delivery driver, and food was very tasty will definitely be ordering again both kids loved it also 🙂

The fish was superb. Fresh juicy fillet and the batter was so light and crispy. Enjoyed my lunch so much I went back again for dinner!

The piece of fish was about half an inch thick as if the fillet had been filleted again, it was wet inside as if put in the frier partly frozen, batter not cooked inside! Plenty of oily chips probably to take attention away from the fish!

04/03/25 We order regularly from Pedros but last night’s fish and chips weren’t up to the usual standard, everything was so greasy. My cod had soggy, greasy batter, I had to remove it as I couldn’t eat it. The grilled Huss was ok but the chips were also very greasy. The local foxes had a good feast. disappointing ☹️

It was so delicious and warm that I tried to eat it while riding the train, but I ate it all in a hurry before getting on the train. When it's warm, the fish is soft and delicious.

What more can I say... Empty plates from all Customers. Good size portion, realistic prices. Freshly cooked, fresh from the sea, absolutely delicious. Plenty of comfortable seating. My friend & I popped into Pedro"s for lunch as it had won an award in the Argus newspaper dated 2024. We both ordered small cod & chips (£8.40 each) & was asked to take a seat. Well literally within a couple of minutes our fish & chips arrived. Normally when you cut into the batter, it is crisp & hot. Not so! I've eaten cod many a time & it's a meaty fish with a distinctive taste. This wasn't. The batter was warm as was the fish. Normally when it's cooked its hot & you have to wait for it to cool down. The chips were no better. I would say that both the fish & the chips had been resting in the countertop cabinet. Worst fish & chips we have ever eaten. When we left the owner asked"how was your meal " to which we replied" warm & tasteless" & left.

Overall a nice experience - especially since not having fish and chips for a while. Good portions. The only thing I’d say is fish was a little bland in taste… Would recommend.

Absolutely beautiful cod and chips! Service excellent and friendly and food piping hot! Would definitely recommend it.

Everything except the mushy peas was lukewarm at best, menu advertises a large battered sausage that in reality is just two small ones served together. Batter and chips were chewy and dripping with grease.

It was helpful to see progress of delivery person as doorbell is broken and I was able to wait at the front door of the flats to receive the delicious fish and chips.

Whenever I take my Mother to Eastbourne, I always head to Pedro's for Fish & Chips. The staff are amazing and very accommodating, and the food is delicious. I would highly recommend going there to anyone visiting Eastbourne.

first time ordering from here the food was nice, but experience not good, I had pre ordered to be delivered for 6.35 over and hour before (put pre order in at about 5.20), my order didn't leave the restaurant till 6.40 and then didn't arrive at my door till 7.10 not happy at all.

The best fish and chips I've ever had! Very fresh and not covered in a massive shell of batter. They also have a grilled option, which was equally delcious. Chips nice and fluffy inside and crispy outside.

We visited here last week during our shopping trip to Eastbourne Town Centre. It was a busy lunchtime, but we managed to get a table. We were greeted when we entered the venue, told we could sit anywhere. There are a lot of food choices on the menu, we decided to have Saveloy and Chips, and drank Fanta orange. Food and drink were tasty and the price was really good. I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu. I have one issue, there is one toilet that is shared between men and women so it can be a bit of a wait if you need to use it. But it's a clean and friendly establishment.

I’m fussy about my fish, but this was delicious and huge portions. Not ordered from them before but will definitely be doing so again in future.

I stopped here with my family while on a walk and had a fish and chips meal. The food was lovely and the price was even better. Compared to a lot of fish and chips shops near the beach, this was cheaper and in a better location. Even the staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. When I asked for some mayo, I was also offered Tartare sauce without being charged for it as opposed to some other places where they do. It's definitely my new favourite chippy in Eastbourne now.

Good service, came well reviewed on Google, but in all honesty a total disappointment. Soggy under-fried batter and limp chips. May have been a bad day but wouldn't bother going back regardless

Great cod and chips at a reasonable price.

My first visit with a friend from Eastbourne for lunch, we both had the grilled Haddock with chips and mushy peas. The fish was cooked to perfection, the chips crispy and soft inside, the crispness lasted to the final chip, generous serving that could not be left. We were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome, cleanliness and hygiene were obvious in all parts. Service was excellent and we were unrushed, also the meal for us two mates was further enhanced by a bottle of nicely chilled white wine. So a big thank you to Pedro and his team for making our catch up totally enjoyable. Their award for being voted best fish and chips by The Argus was well deserved, will definitely be coming back soon.

Normall fantastic but I might as well have a bought a normal sausage as mine had hardly any batter on them, the chips not cooked long enough!

Yes I know it’s a fish and chip shop but I’m on a diet 😂I had a lovely ham omelette with lots of salad and I added beans aswell which I love with a omelette while my son had large chips with he rated them 10/10 and they must be good for him to give such a good score…staff are so friend with a very quick service and also you can have your fish without batter if you want which I think is very good for a more of a healthy option…yes I would visit pestos again if I’m in the area 👍

On a visit to Eastbourne I looked up who does the best fish n chips and Pedro's Fish Bar came up. The fish n chips was fantastic! The batter was light and crunchy and chips and mushy peas were excellent

I had the cod and chips (medium). The fish was pretty good, nice and tender and succulent, the chips were good. Both tasted fresh. The mushy peas were somewhat disappointing though, as they weren’t fresh, but were microwaved from a container in the fridge. They were still edible though, not too bad. Overall, 4 stars. The staff were friendly and welcoming enough. NB: the prices are higher to eat in. Sorry, unfortunately I didn’t take any photos this time.

The best fish and chips I've ever eaten. Large portion for good price. It's a bit reminiscent of a snack bar, which is why you should say directly when ordering whether it's take-away or dine-in. Otherwise there will be misunderstandings. Super friendly staff and good service.

Big portions, there is a chicken in menu, taste is okay. One star down because we were counted incorrect amount and only after asking the receipt they recalculated the price.

Been there about ten times, Fish & Chips always excellent & fast service. However on my last visit after greating the staff I was left sitting at a table for 10 minutes without being served & I was the only person in the restaurant! So walked out, Never going back, overheard prices are going up soon!

We had cod & chips delivered tonight and they were superb. They arrived promptly and were hot. Had them from this restaurant several times now and always great.

I have been coming to Eastbourne since the 80s, and this is by far the worst Fish and Chips I've ever had. Under cooked and greasy. No excuse really. Someone needs to have a word!

Very nice chip shop that sells alcohol too. Reasonably priced. Friendly and attentive staff. Directly opposite the station, so a good place to grab something to eat before jumping on the train home.

First time in this chip shop when asking people in the street if their was a chip shop and told this place and wow it didn't disappoint. 👏 We asked if we could share a large fish 🐟 and the people behind the counter said no problem which was great as we only wanted a snack but on top of this we had chips and peas 😋 and we sat in and had it. It was absolutely lovely and to be fair it came in at one of my best 5 taste chip shops I've ever had and my wife said exactly the same so I can only say if you are passing 😀 and hungry forget about going anywhere were else first you have to try it and I guarantee 💯 you will love it 😀
