Pedro's Fish Bar in Eastbourne

I stopped here with my family while on a walk and had a fish and chips meal. The food was lovely and the price was even better. Compared to a lot of fish and chips shops near the beach, this was cheaper and in a better location. Even the staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. When I asked for some mayo, I was also offered Tartare sauce without being charged for it as opposed to some other places where they do. It's definitely my new favourite chippy in Eastbourne now.

Best fish and chips anywhere. We've been going there for years .And Pedro's has just won best fish and chips in Sussex. Very well deserved. 👍👏👏👏🏆🥇

Good service, came well reviewed on Google, but in all honesty a total disappointment. Soggy under-fried batter and limp chips. May have been a bad day but wouldn't bother going back regardless

Great cod and chips at a reasonable price.

My first visit with a friend from Eastbourne for lunch, we both had the grilled Haddock with chips and mushy peas. The fish was cooked to perfection, the chips crispy and soft inside, the crispness lasted to the final chip, generous serving that could not be left. We were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome, cleanliness and hygiene were obvious in all parts. Service was excellent and we were unrushed, also the meal for us two mates was further enhanced by a bottle of nicely chilled white wine. So a big thank you to Pedro and his team for making our catch up totally enjoyable. Their award for being voted best fish and chips by The Argus was well deserved, will definitely be coming back soon.

Normall fantastic but I might as well have a bought a normal sausage as mine had hardly any batter on them, the chips not cooked long enough!

Yes I know it’s a fish and chip shop but I’m on a diet 😂I had a lovely ham omelette with lots of salad and I added beans aswell which I love with a omelette while my son had large chips with he rated them 10/10 and they must be good for him to give such a good score…staff are so friend with a very quick service and also you can have your fish without batter if you want which I think is very good for a more of a healthy option…yes I would visit pestos again if I’m in the area 👍

On a visit to Eastbourne I looked up who does the best fish n chips and Pedro's Fish Bar came up. The fish n chips was fantastic! The batter was light and crunchy and chips and mushy peas were excellent

I had the cod and chips (medium). The fish was pretty good, nice and tender and succulent, the chips were good. Both tasted fresh. The mushy peas were somewhat disappointing though, as they weren’t fresh, but were microwaved from a container in the fridge. They were still edible though, not too bad. Overall, 4 stars. The staff were friendly and welcoming enough. NB: the prices are higher to eat in. Sorry, unfortunately I didn’t take any photos this time.

The best fish and chips I've ever eaten. Large portion for good price. It's a bit reminiscent of a snack bar, which is why you should say directly when ordering whether it's take-away or dine-in. Otherwise there will be misunderstandings. Super friendly staff and good service.

Big portions, there is a chicken in menu, taste is okay. One star down because we were counted incorrect amount and only after asking the receipt they recalculated the price.

We were in a rush to catch a train and they were so friendly and accomodating. Really yummy food and great service! Would recommend

Been there about ten times, Fish & Chips always excellent & fast service. However on my last visit after greating the staff I was left sitting at a table for 10 minutes without being served & I was the only person in the restaurant! So walked out, Never going back, overheard prices are going up soon!

We had cod & chips delivered tonight and they were superb. They arrived promptly and were hot. Had them from this restaurant several times now and always great.

I have been coming to Eastbourne since the 80s, and this is by far the worst Fish and Chips I've ever had. Under cooked and greasy. No excuse really. Someone needs to have a word!

Very nice chip shop that sells alcohol too. Reasonably priced. Friendly and attentive staff. Directly opposite the station, so a good place to grab something to eat before jumping on the train home.

First time in this chip shop when asking people in the street if their was a chip shop and told this place and wow it didn't disappoint. 👏 We asked if we could share a large fish 🐟 and the people behind the counter said no problem which was great as we only wanted a snack but on top of this we had chips and peas 😋 and we sat in and had it. It was absolutely lovely and to be fair it came in at one of my best 5 taste chip shops I've ever had and my wife said exactly the same so I can only say if you are passing 😀 and hungry forget about going anywhere were else first you have to try it and I guarantee 💯 you will love it 😀

Popped in for a quick lunch and ordered small cod and chips not knowing what to expect. Mercifully I was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful fish and chips! Light, delicate and full of flavour.

BEST IN EASTBOURNE AND SURROUNDING

We visited on a Monday afternoon in Feb and it was very quiet . Spotlessly clean, prompt friendly service and the best fish and chips we’ve had in ages, freshly cooked at a very reasonable price. Great location just across the road from the station. Give it a try - you won’t be disappointed.

Not the best quality and although I ordered early, delivered later than convenient as wife had to leave for work.

Delivered exactly on time, friendly driver. The food was still hot, chips were perfect, Haddock delicious - the batter was light and lovely, not greasy/heavy in the slightest. My first order from Pedros and I WILL be returning!

Great fish and chips!! Cute spot next to Eastbourne station where you can eat in/take away fish and chips. The battered Cod was so so nice. The cod was soft and flaky and the batter was the perfect amount. Chips were crispy and tasty. Staff were super nice and just an overall 10/10!!

Family place that serves nice fish-&-chips. The ratio between price and portion size is great. Drinks were of average quality but it's not a coffee place so let's forget about it. I was about to give it a 4.5, but given the service (the waiter was super friendly and suggested us some stuff and it was totally worth it), it deserves a 5*****. Thank you!

Fish and chips abandoned curry sauce turned up absolutely freezing cold ordered on just eat when I called they said they'd made it over a hour ago surely as a business you would not send that out it's disgracefully now gone with out dinner 0 stars

I became a regular customer now at Pedro's because the food is fresh at all time, generous portions, friendly and considerate staff service, really you can feel they care about customers. All in all highly recommended by me

Beautiful Cod and chips. The fish was so moist, it kept falling apart. Both our meals were hot, delivered bang on time by a very nice gentleman. But please add gherkins to your Just Eat site!!!. That would have topped it for me! 10/10. Thank you Pedro's xx

For me personally, this is the best fish and chips in Eastbourne

Great haddock and chips. Batter on the fish was crispy and the fish within succulent and flakey rather than mushy and overcooked like it is in many places. Chips good too and they serve alcohol too if you fancy a beer with it. Will come again when I'm next in Eastbourne.

The food is awesome and tasty. The double cheese burger is the best I have had in a long while.

We’ve been using Pedros for years now. If you want guaranteed quality fish & chips both in regards to produce and cooking, this is the place. Service is always excellent and friendly, the restaurant is always clean and well presented, and the location is dead central right opposite Eastbourne Station. Portion sizes are always generous and everything is sensibly priced. The batter is spot on, the chips are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the curry sauce and mushy peas are moreish. Battered sausages and scampi are cracking too. The hard working owner and team deserve this 5* rating. A credit to the Eastbourne independent business scene.

We were on holiday in Eastbourne and we wanted to have fish and chip's. When we are away over the weekend we like to have fish and chip's on a Sunday but Pedro's is closed on Sunday's so I said to my Husband we could try another chip shop but he wanted to try Pedro's and i'm glad we waited until Monday as the fish and chip's were lovely and well worth the price. Will visit again if we're ever back in Eastbourne.
