I'm currently sitting here after over a year, and I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer service and the fresh buffet breakfast. Every staff member is remarkably polite, approachable, and attentive. Having just returned from Dubai, where hospitality was of the highest standard and we were treated like royalty, it's truly heartwarming to experience a similar level of care and attention right here in our own country. This place is truly going above and beyond to make us feel special and valued.

Carvery was lovely! Fresh selection of meats and veg. Beautiful. The chicken combo was also lovely. We even asked how the chicken was cooked as it was delicious. Front of house staff were lovely and polite

Carvery staff were really friendly and helpful after we made a mistake at the till. We were having a tricky day and really helped us feel a little better about the world.

The food is always great except the Cauliflower Cheese which is always rock hard unfortunately.

Usually the food is spot on as well as the service. However, on arrival for breakfast on a very cold and wet morning they were shut. Staff inside avoided eye contact and even a knock on the window was ignored. It's understandable that sometimes things can happen that make it difficult to open on time but after 15 waiting in the rain with nobody informing us of what was happening or when, or if they were even opening we unfortunately had to find somewhere else for breakfast this time.

Drove up the country to York specially trying to catch the carvery here, even passed the Toby just before it .We arrived at 20.31, told carvery stopped at 20.30. Full carvery was there in front of us.Would not have been a problem. What a waste of food.Settled for a steak ,it was expectedly lousy. Looks like its back to the Toby in future. Disappointing 😞. Heres an update: The duty manager of the Pear Tree Farm pub has rung me and expressed concerns with my review. He has apologised on many levels as this should not have happened. 1. The Carvery is available after 20.30 and should have been offered at a reduced rate as some items may not have been available. 2. They should also offered for us to take a boxed up take out carvery away at a reduced rate at this time. 3. As he could not see the steak he would talk to the duty chef who was on to see what went wrong. He agreed that they may have been rushing to finish as I suspected. I have been offered 2 free carvery meals and to boxed cake pieces to take away as a good will gesture. I am always happy to comment on establishments when they ask ,most of my reviews are positive. As the manager has responded I will try the venue again. The feedback will be posted on here. I am happy with his response.

Great spread for breakfast buffet! And staff are very warm and friendly! Highly recommend to drop by for quick breakfast! Free parking too!

Everything as you would expect would have liked a better selection of rail ales

We visited here tonight 7th April. We checked the last time to order food as we were visiting my Dad at the hospital. It said 9pm kitchen closed. We arrived at 8.10pm to be told they'd stopped serving food. Disappointing to say the least!! 😡 Thank you Matt for your reply. We knew the carvery closed off at 8.30 or earlier if you've been busy & we appreciate that but we didn't want a carvery. We wanted to order off the menu & weren't given that choice. We just got told food had finished. Anyway let's hope we have better luck if we visit again.

Family of 8 3 got there meals 5 was waiting another 20 mins i got carvery it wasn't the best the turkey could of done with longer overall not good

Excelent food and good service. We vist the Pear tree regularly and Never yet been disappointed.

The food was exceptionally delicious, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The establishment boasts a spacious interior, offering ample room at each table for a comfortable dining experience. I opted for the carvery, and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions offered at a great value. I would definitely revisit this place.

We have come back for the second year to the Travelodge and we always visit the Pear Tree Farm. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food is lovely. We would definitely come back again.

Good for Sunday lunch plus there's a play area for youngsters.

Food was okay but had better. The play area for 5s and under was over taken by older kids jumping around so couldn't let my daughter play

Sadly today's visit wasn't as good as the first time. On a whole this is a nice place staff are helpful. The food is very nice the hashbrowns are epic crunchy on outside fluffy and tasty and inside. we arrived at 8am and was told by a staff member that they were closed until 9am but then she said we were allowed to come in the warm. Prices are reasonable. The kitchen staff was a real let down a gentleman was clearly and visibily in a bad mood let the place down

Carvery is bang on, really enjoy it, good quality veg. Decor is a bit tired, mostly clean except when it’s really busy. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Building itself was clean and the bar staff were very friendly. The food that came out was inedible and went back exactly how it came out minus a small bite out of each item. 2 check backs on starters and none on the main. Conversation interrupted to give us a review card. What a joke

Great place to eat staff super friendly and great atmosphere

Just wanted to say, My husband and I stayed at the Travelodge, Monks Cross on Sunday 24 March. We went over to Pear Tree Farm on the Sunday night and both enjoyed the mini carvery. It was well presented and everything was hot. It was enjoyable sin the pub so we went across on Monday morning and had breakfast there. Staff were friendly and polite and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. We both would throughly recommend Pear Tree Farm, for value for money food and a very nice time.

I had a really nice time with my friends last night and our server Sully went above and beyond for us. It was absolutely wonderful.

Lovely food staff friendly and helpful.tge carver at the time could do with customer interaction and training as we got the impression he didn't want to be there .

8.15 am Monday morning pub and kitchen still shut.. Says open on website. Staff just turning up. Poor service this isn't the first time this has happened.. Service starting to go a bit down hill.. Off to Toby carvery always open on time..

Luke warm food ,beef tough ,no taste, the vegetables was the only thing we ate . Roast potatoes burnt yorkshire pudding couldn't cut through. Very disappointing meal with little taste.

Hi, Had a table booked for 5pm today 24/3/24 , was looking forward to the Sunday carvery But was very disappointed with it, beef was tough, broccoli cauliflower cheese, green beans all under cooked. Total waste of money . Will not be returning.

Great food and great service, lovely atmosphere and all in all a great place to get good value and a warm welcome.

Really enjoyed our first visit, got seated promptly on a busy Friday evening, good comprehensive menu, easy to order at the bar, wife had lasagne and I had bacon cheeseburger, both arrived quickly, good portion sizes, both really nice, followed by two 2-scoop ice cream tubs.Washed down with a couple of lagers, would thoroughly recommend, will be back in the morning for buffet breakfast.

Friendly staff here, try and book in advance for peak times, they to cooked breakfast and never too busy in the mornings. No complaints.

Nice food, great for kids with an under 5s play area. Very reasonably priced. Staff super helpful and went out of their way to fish out a monster truck we lost!

Amazing experience lovely food for a Mother’s Day treat.

The food was amazing, Louise was lovely and very well mannered to me and my friends.

I really wanted to shout out one specific staff member I think his name was Martin he was the front of house staff at 9:30 wearing a shirt was nice and friendly and went above and beyond. when we first walked in and greeted us and took us to our table which was perfect for where we wanted to be. was very friendly and had a nice conversation with him before ordering food. the food was pretty good for all you can eat at £6.99 pp. very happy we then followed up with food by ordering some of their cake away ordering from another staff member.unfortunately my partner is allergic to nuts and when asked if there was any nuts in there carrots cake the staff member at the till said that they are nuts free pub. when getting home and giving my partner his cake noticed there was almonds in it. we immediately took it back to the pub and saw Martin again I explained the issue and he was very apologetic and asked who the staff member was so he could update him that they are not a nut free pub. he allowed me to swap the cake over it was unopened and still sealed in the box with an alternative cake which really was very happy with not only did it bring us one he also gave us another to apologise fot the inconvenience that we had gone through I wasn't unhappy by any meansand I just really wanted to say thank you so much for Martin for making my mum feel very happy on mother's Day I'm very happy with the breakfast out we're definitely recommend this pub and for Martin excellent service 😀

Was served promptly even though it was Mothers Day and busy. Seen to a clean table. Served promptly at the bar. No rush to get food had a chat and then the queue was dealt with at the carvery with super efficiency. The carvery food was great and plentiful. The clean up after was prompt and polite. All in all a great experience.

Booked in advance for Mother's Day. Arrived a few minutes before our booking time, and were quickly seated by a welcoming host. Tried to order via the App which constantly failed but were able to order at the bar quickly and easily. Two carvery meals and one mixed grill. Quite a large queue for the carvery but this quickly went down and staff were constantly refilling the veg and gravy supplies. Meals were enjoyed by all. When our plates were taken away, we were not asked if we wanted to order anything else or further drinks - we had planned to order cake to take home. We waited a little while to see if anybody returned but this did not happen, so we approached the bar to try and ask a member of staff if we could place an order. This is where the service let down the venue, we were told very rudely that we needed to go join a very large queue at the bar. We decided at this point to leave and go home. I appreciate that the venue was extremely busy, however we weren't just coming into the venue, we had already had our meals and paid for this, and just wanted to order cake to take home. While we enjoyed our meals very much, we were looking forward to taking cake home, but due to the rudeness of one staff member, and the queue we were told we had to join, we decided at this point to leave as we did not feel we should have to wait in a queue again when we were already paying customers and had not been asked if anything else was required, nor was it possible to place the cake order via the app as it still refused to work. As we were with our daughter who is autistic, leaving was the best option as she could easily have gone into meltdown for not getting cake as we had promised, so this put a slight downer on what would otherwise have been an enjoyable meal.

Fantastic local pub, food varied and very tasty, reasonably priced as well. Staff so friendly.

Pear tree farm had great parking and is located a short way from the ring road and Monks Cross. The interior is nice and reasonably quiet in the main area, even at peak times. The family area is great for those with very young children. There is a small soft play area and a few other features which make it easy to entertain young children. They can be noisy at times, so if this bothers you, request a table not adjacent to this area. The carvey is very nice and the meat was vety tender when we went. The Yorkshire puddings were brilliant and there were plenty of vegetables and sauces. A bit of broccoli was a little too al dente, but was full of flavour. The meal was well priced and the infinite cups of tea made it even more enjoyable. My only critique is realated to the bathrooms. In the boys, the door lock was broken, so I had to use the other bathroom. The seat was so dirty, i had to use toilet paper, soap and water to clean it before use. A fsmily member reported that they ran out of toilet papet in the girls. From formerly visiting Pear Tree Farm, I can day this is anomoly. Every other time I have visited, the facilities have been immaculate, so it may just have been a bad day and the lock may have just broken. The staff are the best part. Always willing to go above and beyond. Everyone polite and helpful. Always willing to help. Overall a great place for those on a modest budget that like generous portions and traditional food. We will be visiting again.

Very very filling food. Huge portions on treats. Fabulous for families as well as anyone else. Polite, helpful & accommodating staff. Clean & tidy. Can't fault it.

I met my now wife here in 2012 when it opened!!! So can't grumble I'm anyway whats so ever ! Food is 95% great and so Is the service It is what it is a cheap family dining experience!!!

Called on Sunday for a carvery , having been several times . The place was filthy ,dirty serviette’s around the bar and carvery area , drop food all over in front of the carvery , chef was refilling the dishes then literally dropping them back in position , I was so disappointed, food was cold , it clear to me that a manager needed to get out and about and see the state of the restaurant , such a shame but definitely gone down hill , please up your game as this is such a lovely place .

It used to be so good with freshly cooked food. Everything now seems to be reheated from a day or more ago. No atmosphere. Few staff. McDonald's across the road has a better menu!

Very clean establishment. Food was reasonably priced but not brilliant. Fast service and a well run restaurant. Recommended if you're out shopping and need something to eat.

Enjoyed the service and great atmosphere, I recommend the puddings, as they are generous with custard and ice cream, and having the vegetarian option as they give you double Yorkshire Pudding, I would suggest boiling the Broccoli and Cauliflower a little bit more so its softer, however a lovely Yorkshire Cavery!

We've been coming to Pear Tree farm for a long time. So it seemed a good choice to have a lovely meal there today as it's our Wedding Anniversary! It didn't disappoint 😀. Well done to all the helpful staff.

We are no strangers to this establishment. However the food on the carvery today was exceptional. Normally one or two of the veg is either soggy or look like they've been there for hours. Today they were cooked to perfection., and it is always value for money for the carvery during the week. Tue 1312hrs. The only down side is the cost of the soft drinks.

Picked up a cakeaway. Good choice and value. Slices are huge.

Booked for a large group of 28 and nothing was too much trouble. Carvery was amazing, we were pleasantly surprised, the few mains ordered were also enjoyed by all. Service was quick and easy and staff were very helpful. A particular mention to Jade and Fiona who made sure we had everything we needed. 2 of us worked here years ago and the fact we return frequently says a lot! Thanks everyone

We ordered a carvery through just eat, the parsnips where totally cremated the carrots where rock hard and its the first time that I have had mushy pee's on a carvery

Scran was sound tbf just took 45 mins to come then forgot half of the scran but other then that pretty lovely ( my ears won’t be the same tho )
