Big noisy chain pub, food prices are reasonable and quality is what you'd expect from such a place. Reasonable family venue. Doesn't excel in anything particular.

We come here often and Sam (we think he might be the manager) is always so lovely and attentive.

The carvery at Pear Tree Farm is lovely! Generous portions of perfectly roasted meats, complemented by a fantastic selection of seasonal vegetables, make for a delicious, satisfying meal. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. It’s a great spot for a family meal or a cozy Sunday treat. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a hearty, traditional carvery done right!

Some staff outshine the rest. One of these who gave great service and support was Daniel, a great asset to the company.

Love this place but today the chicken currently was really poor. 4 small pieces of chicken in the dish.

Best Carvery I've had for years !! Food was done to perfection although meat was a bit chewy. Tatties were perfect 👌

Me and my partner were looking for something for dinner. We drove past this place on a previous day and said we should check it out. It did not disappoint! The steak was cooked to perfection and the beef and ale pie was delicious. Well worth the cost!

I went here for a family meal and later on my uncle had to go to the hospital to treat food poisoning! It was something about the vegetables in the carvery, possibly cross contamination with raw meat. Will not be coming back here.

Would leave a minus if I could! I have gone here for years. My self and daughter got food poisoning….. and basically Told its not from there food absolutely disgusting

Booked a table online, was greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to a table in the adult dining area. Unfortunately the table was right underneath the air con which was on full blast but not a big deal. We ordered our drinks at the bar - bar tender was great, very friendly and happy. We ordered our food via the app a short while later - food didn't take long to arrive, around 25-20mins. My partner ordered the gammon steaks and was happy enough with his meal. I had the bean burger and unfortunately it was pretty clear it hadn't been cooked properly and someone had just chucked it in the microwave for too long. The outside wasn't browned or cooked and the burger was rock hard to the point I couldn't even cut through it with my partners steak knife! I ate the lettuce and fries and left the burger as it was completely inedible. Unfortunately a check back only happened once we'd finished our meals. On arrival we quite liked the look of some of the puds but at this point we were quiet put off and left.

Food was brilliant, so was the service Eli was amazing with out service even put the air con on for us as it was to warm. 5 stars

Overcharged us (even with Blue Light discount). I only queried it because it seemed a lot for you what we had ordered. I pointed it out and we were refunded the difference (the manager blamed it on the staff member who served us). Service was reasonably prompt. Both had fish and chips. My fish was fine but my wifes was brown (see picture). Both portions of chips were luke warm. Doubt we will return.

Had the vegan bean burger. Service was good no issues with that, food arrived fast and when I made them aware of the issue responded quickly and kindly. The bean burger arrived and was the hardest burger I've ever had the misfortune of biting into, no way I could eat it. Staff member went to request a fresh and mentioned that it was new on the menu so maybe the chefs don't know how to male ot so well yet. Okay.. Bit weird like, it's a breaded bean burger... they generally in a place such as this come from the freezer to the oven. Anyway, the second one arrived and it was the same situation very dry and edges of the burger were liken to a brick.

I have very much come to love this place, and it's a place I keep coming back to. Great food, good service and very accommodating. Could not recommend more.

Had to ask for the table to be cleaned. Mix up with ordering drinks. Waiting staff didn't know about dishes. Had to go and get own children's menu. Food adequate for price.

Came here after attempting to go to a local Sizzlers pub which was awful. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady with a friendly smile. Service was quick, efficient and courteous. This would have been a 5 star review however you ran out of roast potatoes on the Carvery 90 minutes before you stopped service, we also couldn't have dessert as we were incorrectly informed of the kitchen closing time however one of the lovely staff did arrange some takeaway options for us that we could dine in with which was appreciated. Would happily return again. Ps the gammon & turkey were delicious.

Speedy service, fantastic food, can't fault it.

Myself and my daughter love visiting here. We're not very good with crowds so usually go just before the lunchtime rush so that we can choose our own table. We order on the app so we don't have to queue and everything is delivered to the table. The food is great and there is always just enough.

One of our family's favourite places to eat, food is always great & delicious. The cakes are very generous portions and great naughty treats, love the house sodas it is nice to have something different than coke or lemonade, lovely pub atmosphere.

All ways good value and not bad food staff really good at taking orders (AOP) don't use app keep it up

No cold Guinness zero only warm tins. No buttery jacket potatoes even though we’d ordered them with our burgers. The new potatoes chosen instead were full of eyes..no butter given left them too dry. When our meals came without coleslaw we were told it’s run out. Poor attitude and little care shown on this occasion. A real shame as we come here often. Customer at nearby table commented on the poor service.

Cheese sauce wasn't saucey enough to put over my dinner so had to do without as I don't like Gravy at all... Other than that was nice.

very busy on Sunday afternoon,carvery quite good,only downside is the sauces are never full,ok they get them when asked,but the wait time is too long,your meal is cold by the time it’s filled and brought from the kitchen. So I will knock one star off for that.

Food is ok, plenty of choice on the carvery. Carvery staff prefer to fill deliveroo boxes than serve face to face customers so be prepared to wait even if there is no queue. EDIT: 11/10/24 Visited again, much better. Tall man, about 45-50? Light hair serving on carvery with friendly quick service and a smile. Makes a big difference.

Popped in for the all you can eat breakfast. Compared to lunch times it was much more relaxed and quiet. As always, the value can’t be beaten, all you can eat buffet for £7.49 with £2 unlimited tea/coffee. You will find fancier food elsewhere but that is not the point here. Full belly and happy now.

Friendly staff here, try and book in advance for peak times, they to cooked breakfast and never too busy in the mornings. No complaints. Update: They have stopped doing jam with the breakfasts, I’ve removed 1 star. Server Jenny was professional and happy to help. (All staff members show willingness to help and friendly) Bring back the jams! Next it’ll be no beans, etc. Slippery slope into bad side of capitalism.

Kids love it in the play part, pretty simple but effective as you await your food and the after your full moment let the kids go play 👌 love the carvery here always so much choice and cooked nicely thick gravy too bonus..

We did book a table as it was busy there was a queue for carvery but didn't have to wait long plenty of choice and replenished constantly,they missed the bun on my grandsons sausage bun but wasn't a big deal ,the staff are the best I've come across anywhere I've been, all very polite and helpful in a very busy place will call again

We had a lovely time at pear tree farm today. The staff were lovely and very kind with us and our two small children. The food was also very nice and came promptly. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

We love it here the and drive an hour to get here,the staff are friendly and the food is always hot and fresh ,the meat on the carvery always looks and tastes amazing,weve always wanted to try the cake but are always too full as the portions are big

I have eaten here every time I am in York for business food is ok I had carvery and the server was a slap dash with the food he was serving and all the food was overcooked but that's to be expected

Not sure what went wrong tonight, but 5 meals out of 5 were wrong - roasted peppers that weren't roasted, over cooked chicken skewers, charred hunters chicken, gluten-free bean burger when we didn't order gluten free and a carvery veggie pie that never came until they were clearing our table. Very disappointing 😞

Stuff was lovely and nice food was nice

My favourite place for a good meal with frends. Staff always lovely. Food always on point. Location is amazing. Farmhouse Inn's by Green King are the best place to go for amy occasion or meal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ps. Also get blue light discount for KEY WORKERS. (look on the app)

Vegan Tex Mex Chilli came without rice but did include dairy sour cream. Both were put right when we challenged. Lasagne came without garlic bread, but an alternative (onion rings) was offered, Unfortunately when these came they were mistakenly served with a vegan burger (despite not being marked as vegan on the menu). I get the feeling they need to try harder with their specific dietary offer.

On a damp and cloudy Autumnal morning, there's nowhere that offers a more inviting and warm welcome to a home cooked style breakfast, cuppa and friendly smiles from the staff who make you feel at home! It's homely feel like you're at an old aunts or grandparents house is what draws us in and makes it feel more than just another pub.

Normally love breakfasts here as it’s always so good value for money but apparently they have new rules. Size of plates are a lot smaller for everyone but they charge £7.99 for adult breakfast and £4.99 for a child’s but expect you to all use the same plate. Nothing on menu to state changes. My little girl ate same as us but we paid extra

Sully D was lovely - did everything he could to accommodate and kept checking in and having a little chat with us, made us feel comfortable. The food was great however they have removed the Diane sauce which usually came with the chicken medley and unfortunately that was the main reason for our custom as the Diane sauce was perfect and the best we have had from anywhere so after finding it missing, I don't think we will return as frequently which is a real shame.
