An absolute gem! This small family run business makes everything from scratch and you can tell!! Amazing pizza dough and the toppings are perfect. Service is great too!

Whenever I can, I buy my bread from here. If they did mail order, I'd buy my bread from here no matter where I was in the country. I have given up searching for anywhere even slightly as good. The above might sound ridiculous but it's true. This bread is sacred. How do you get a huge umami bomb from a loaf of sourdough before you've added anything to it? There's a moment with the first bite which is like eating slow cooked brisket from a sous vide or as close to that you can get possibly get with bread. Their pastries are equally as good. I bought a sausage roll and the pastry was like eating shards of edible glass. No grease; just straight up satisfying crunch. There are other fantastic bakeries in the country I've been to. However, they just don't quite compare. It really is as if they have discovered one secret ingredient that makes their bread top tier. Massive thanks to the owners for doing something incredible.

Gorgeous food, beautifully cooked. Every dish i have tried has been delicious ..... the best pizza I have ever had.

In Barrow for my wife's chemo, we were looking for somewhere to eat when her appointment was delayed and came here. What a great and what a find! Friendly service, lovely atmosphere and delicious toastie and coffee. An oasis on a traumatic day. Good luck!

We've been here quite a few times. Today was a sunny day, so we sat outside, enjoying other people's dogs, and chilling. We ordered our breakfast.... the Breakfast Stack. If you expect rapidly served, pre-prepared rubbish, you have come to the wrong place. The food is cooked fresh. It'll take a bit of time. More dog fussing time. Then the Stack arrived. I cannot begin to describe it without using the words excellent ingredients, fresh, tasty, explosion of flavours.... so I won't. Try it for yourself.... oh, and buy a Sourdough Loaf to take home. Incredible. Can't wait until next time.

I bought a county sourdough loaf here and a blackberry cheesecake last week.The loaf was just superb blowing anything away you would but in a supermarket.Toasted for breakfast was even better.The cheesecake was so fresh you wouldnt buy one elsewhere after this.Be back very shortly

In Barrow at lunch time today and didn't know where to have lunch. This place came up on Trip Advisor and we were delighted to have found it. The bread is absolutely gorgeous and the people were lovely. I would love to go back for a pizza night.

Went to a family Funeral and chatted about sourdough (as you do) was advised to try peace and loaf Oh my God if this was down in Dunstable (where I live )I’d be In Everyday asked for sourdough bought a loaf and saw they did cakes ordered a ricotta and plum cake which was amazing and a coffee I asked what they did and saw an array of various coffees and asked for advice the barista /baker /salesman advised his favourite was a flat white (which is my personal favourite as well ) ordered it and my god Soooo good

We only called in for a sourdough loaf …. And stopped for coffee. The atmosphere was really positive and pleasant. So many yummy looking cakes. The breakfast menu looks excellent for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike. Only open Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 10:00

Had this place brought to y attention by the TV show with the Hairy Bikers. The food is first class, the bread to die for. The staff are happy & attentive. Would strongly recommend you'll not be disappointed.

Just biting into my first Sourdough from Peace and Loaf, really really nice, will definitely be back again soon.

I am counting the days down till I can visit again for the most incredible toasted sandwich I've ever had in my life . I did not want it to end and wished I had bought 2 :) incredible cake selection and the coffee was like nothing I've ever had before (in a good way ) friendliest bunch of people run this gem of a place :) most definitely worth a visit

Called in after a walk with my two nieces. The coffee was possibly the best I have ever tasted & piping hot. Didn't eat but will be visiting for their Saturday night pizza night. The pizza menu looked amazing. Took a piece of gluten free cake away for a relative and it looked delicious. Staff very friendly & a nice relaxed atmosphere. Will be returning very soon.

I want a Peace and Loaf Bakehouse near where I live!! Wholesome, tasty and fresh food. The sourdough bread is excellent. My only criticism was the coffee quality was disappointing compared to the standard of the food and I did think it a bit pricey - otherwise its excellent and worth a visit!

Everything they bake is of the highest quality, the Bread is wonderful and the Pizza served on Saturday evening is the best I have ever had

The best bread in Barrow (and beyond). Make a mean chocolate brownie too. Such lovely people, clearly passionate about what they do. Would highly recommend.

Habíamos quitado pizzas esta noche para un regalo ya que habíamos escuchado que estaban preparadas para los sábados por la noche y queríamos probarlas teniendo en cuenta que nos encanta el pan y los productos de P&L. Estábamos bastante decepcionados con ellos para ser honestos. Parecía ser toda la corteza y pan y muy poco coberturas. Tenía crudo que, para ser honesto, sabía a una losa de queso cheddar solidificado con aproximadamente 3 trozos de jamón serrano y un puñado de hojas de cohete empapadas y fibrosas. Teniendo en cuenta que estaba destinado a ser grasoso, no tenía textura de queso fundido en absoluto y, en cambio, era grasoso y duro. El novio tenía la pizza de albóndigas, que era lo contrario y apenas tenía queso a la vista. Y alrededor de 4 pequeñas albóndigas en rodajas esparcidas por encima. Es una pena, ya que estábamos ansiosos por ellos y nos encantan las otras cosas que la panadería tiene para ofrecer. Pero no piense que volveremos a comer pizzas pronto. Sé que los precios no son tan caros como el dominó, por ejemplo, pero aun así, no era barato y nos sentimos un poco engañados.no me malinterpreten, seguiremos apareciendo por el pan y los deliciosos pasteles, pero pensé que esto necesitaba llamar la atención.

What a fantastic place! Had heard good things and finally managed to head in for sandwiches and coffee and it definitely lived up to the positive reviews. Quality food and ingredients and the setting is great. Will definitely return!

La ubicación ha cambiado y ahora cómo se ubica en un local mucho más grande y con eso se amplió el rango y aumentó el volumen de productos horneados. Todo está hecho en casa. El pan es realmente una maravilla, por lo que los sándwiches son impresionantes. The bread and cakes are good but so expensive. Barrow people are fickle but there must be some common ground between quality and price.

Good coffee and high quality sourdough sandwich with delicious tasty fillings - all complemented by extra friendly service.

This is a two person show, baking amazing bread even day bar Sat, Sun Tues. Bread is ready to buy from 0900 and when its gone its gone. I tried three different loaves with herbs, seeds, sourdough, a brownie and and a quiche. All amazing.
