Paws Cafe in Shropshire

A real treat to interact with such lovely well adjusted cats. Staff very friendly and helpful and coffee was good but the cats are the stars of the show. The pricing policy is straightforward so I don't really understand why some reviewers are critical. You are paying for time with the cats - I think it is very reasonably priced and fair and just can't wait to go again.

We had such a lovely time here. It really is excellent value. The staff are very friendly and the cats adore them, which is so nice to see. We booked for an hour and got 2 free hot drinks in the price which was very generous. The cats seemed really content, had lots of space to play and were very well cared for. They had lots to entertain them. For us, the place was spacious and felt very relaxing and serene. The good thing is they don't crowd the place to maximise money. They give first think about the cats' comfort and the guests. Would highly recommend and would go again.

Paws Cafe is an absolutely delightful way to spend an hour. I went in a family session and there were several children spending time with the cats. All the cats were happy and very at ease , they had plenty of areas to escape to should they have wished to but were totally fine playing and relaxing around the children - all of whom were so well behaved around the cats too. I have to give a special mention to the young man who was working there today. He went out of his way to make sure each customer could spend time with the cats - he gave us a treat to feed to them, explained their different characters and the best way to interact with each cat. He even showed us their favourite toys all while making drinks and letting people in and out of the cafe. He really made the experience special. Paws Cafe is a must visit for cat people.

Visiting the area as part of a holiday and was delighted to see this cat café as we were wandering around the town centre! The cats are clearly very happy, loved, and well cared for. They have lots of places to sleep and play alongside a private area when they want some alone time. What a great experience!

This is a relaxing, heart warming experience for those who live cats. Have yummy cakes and coffee whilst interacting with the gorgeous cat family in Paws. The humans are kind and nice too. The place is spotlessly clean. Strongly recommend an hour as half hour isn't ling enough to meet all the cats!

Visited for coffee and cake and to see all the lovely cats who were all very friendly. The cafe had a wonderful homely atmosphere with big plush chairs and sofas and so much room for the cats. The staff was so pleasant and welcoming and great cake too. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Absolutely loved this place and it exceeded my expectations. It was so clean and not many people are allowed in at yhe same time. The cats seemed to be extremely comfortable with the place and disappeared upstairs when they weren't. The staff were so friendly and helpful telling is all about the cats. Couldn't fault it at all. Banofee cake was lovely as was the coffee with oatilk, very impressed.

I have visited this Cafe multiple times over the past year, and myself and the friends/family I have visited with have always enjoyed ourselves.The cafe is well maintained, and has a relaxed atmosphere, and the cats are free to wander about as they please, along with some areas visitors cannot get to if they don't want to be disturbed.Staff have always been polite and courteous, and happy to answer peoples questions about the cats.I have visited twice since lockdown, with this weekend being my most recent, and even with fewer people being allowed in at a time, the cafe remains a lovely place to take a break.The cats themselves all have their own personalities, some are happier to come up to people than others, some will just wander around the store minding their own business, and others will be too occupied chasing eachother round. After so many trips, I have gotten to know which of the cats are the friendlier ones, and seem to have made good friends with Cappuchino.The price is very reaonable, with a minimum booking of 30 minutes, and sessions costing £1 per person for every 5 minutes. Most drinks are free, with the only paid extras being any alcoholic drinks along with any food purchased (The cafe has a selection of cakes available)Any complaints would be minor, there is a smaller room at the back of the cafe where the bathroom is located, that has a low ceiling, but they have signs to warn you of this.The only issue I could really say I have with the Cafe, is that the time spent there always goes too quickly!

I am obsessed with this place! I have been so many times now! Honestly the most relaxing experience! The staff are all so welcoming and friendly! The cats all have a great temperament too! Will be returning over and over! ❤️❤️❤️

Whilst visiting Shrewsbury overnight, we spotted the Paws Cafe on our exploration of the town centre and simply had to visit! It was just wonderful sipping coffee whilst surrounded by 12 friendly, inquisitive, playful and gorgeous cats! They have the best set up, lots of toys, beds and room. Staff very friendly and offered info on the cats and clearly have a great bond with the cats as witnessed when one of the Bengal cats jumped from the floor to one of the staffs shoulders for a cuddle! Highly recommend a visit, we loved it.

We had the best morning at Paws Cafe! The cats are all so loved and well looked after - tonnes of toys everywhere and huge climbing frames, and they had a safe space upstairs to get away from people if they wanted to. The staff were brilliant too. Plus vegan cake! What more could you want! We stayed an extra hour we were having such a great time and got extra cat cuddles

My partner and I visited recently and loved it. It has a real calm feel and staff are warm and friendly. The cats were very entertaining and were not fazed at all by the people, in fact quite the opposite. There are several areas to relax and soft drinks are included in the price. Well worth a visit if you love cats.

I have visited Paws cafe twice, and both times had a lovely experience. It is relaxing to just sit and watch the cats, and depending what mood they are in, interact with them. You get unlimited free drinks during your time there which is a nice touch.

My mum and I visited this cafe in January as we are big cat lovers. This cat cafe was just as good as the one in Manchester and the staff were very friendly. The cats were very entertaining to watch and we had a lovely time!

Booked through Facebook for my wife and I. Read some reviews about smell and unfriendly staff and they could not be more wrong. Staff were all lovely and no smell what so ever. Cats were friendly too!We paid for one hour for 12 pound each, all soft drinks included in that price. Well recommend and will visit again!

My self, partner and our 17 month old daughter visited this afternoon and we were not disappointed. I am obsessed with cats and our daughter seems to be too and as we have a dog we thought this would be a good opportunity to get close and introduce our daughter to them. Her first word when we walked in was WOW! We were greeted by a very excited Bengal who was strutting around and pouncing on things which my daughter found hilarious. We had a drink and made our way around the cats, stroking and saying hello to them all. The cats are extremely well looked after, they have some of the best cat trees and beds I have ever seen and also have a place to escape the hustle and bustle if they want to which I thought was nice. They have plenty of room to roam around and were 100% comfortable and at ease in their home. Some were doing the usual cat thing of sleeping and some were just being bonkers and running around. The owners 12 month old son was there and he and my daughter hit it off straight away and were having a baby chat which was fantastic. The owners were very welcoming and friendly.I would recommend this to anyone who loves cats or animals in general but if your not a cat lover doing something like this might just change your mind!We stayed for an hour which flew by so I do reccomend you book at least an hour. We will definitely be visiting again. Thanks so much.

I can honestly say that my time visiting the Paws cafe was nothing short of brilliant. The experience left me feeling happy and ready to head back out into the chaos of Saturday shopping in town. The staff were helpful and polite and the Cats quite clearly are living the dream. Paws is a must for any cat lovers or people who need a little more happiness in their life’s. My mom and I visited here during a visit to Shrewsbury and it turned out to be the highlight of our day! The cats are very well cared for by the lovely young couple that run the cafe, they have lots of things to do/play with and different places to sleep. The cafe has lots of different seating areas, although we spent most of our time walking around. There are lockers to put your shoes in on arrival, or you can wear shoe covers. We paid £6 (each) for 30mins, or its £12 for an hour. If you do stay over your time (and we did!) you pay £1 for every 5 mins extra. I think the cost is good value, as you also get hot/cold drinks of your choice once inside. We booked our visit online.Highly recommend a visit!

Purrfect! A cat lovers dream! All the cats were so content and obviously well cared for. The atmosphere was so chilled with all the cats either sitting, sleeping or wandering around happily. Lovely and clean, wonderful tasting coffee with lots of yummy cakes on sale too. Would recommend it to fellow cat friends.#Well worth a visit! Book your trip now!

We went as a family to Paws Cafe recently and loved every minute of it. The cats are very friendly, fun and inquisitive but the nice thing is they aren't forced to come out for the customers - they come and go as they please which is great for them. The staff are great too and the drinks and cakes were delicious.Sure it's not the cheapest place but you get what you pay for - a truly unique, relaxing and wonderful experience. The purrfect escape from the stresses of modern life :-)

My boyfriend and I have visited many times since paws opened. We love coming to relax and chill out with the cats, who are all well behaved and very friendly. It's great value for money with all drinks within your stay free. The cakes served are also delicious.

So glad I found this lovely cafe! Randomly came across it and decided to give it a visit the staff was really friendly and kind the cafe was really clean and such a relaxed atmosphere to be in not as crowded and noisy as other cat cafes! A great experience Would definitely visit again

I came here last week with my sister. We had a lovely time but she paid £24 for 1 hour there but half an hour would of been fine, she booked an hour as we thought there would be sandwiches etc on offer. Soft drinks are included but we had to pay for cake on top which was another £5. I had a lovely time with the cats but I think £30 for two people, a piece of cake and soft drinks for an hour was a bit expensive.

We visited Paws Cafe on a wet, cold November day for my daughter’s birthday. It is truly a very special place and if your a cat lover and like a good coffee and a place to relax this is the place. The couple who run it are really friendly and it is obvious that the cats adore them. The various breeds which make up the cat cafe are really friendly and it is great to see that they all get on. The cafe is designed with the cats in mind and there is an assortment of equipment and toys for them and you to play with. This was a great place for a treat and was a fantastic way to spend an hour on a cold autumn day. Will we be back - absolutely!! £12 each for an hour including drink- they are licensed to sell alcohol and have various events on in the week including Film Nights and special times for OAPs and children with additional needs. Do be aware that there are rules you have to abide too for the sanity of the cats and that you either have to wear shoe covers or take your shoes off - just make sure your wearing socks!!

Really enjoyed our time down in the cafe a week or so ago. The staff were very pleasant, the cakes were great and they had a great selection of warm, cold and alcoholic drinks. The cats were all VERY well cared for. They had plenty of room, the cafe was immaculately clean and they had their own free space that only the cats could get to upstairs.

Absolutely delightful cats. My kids loved it. My only criticism was the staff members attitude, rather abrupt - she clearly prefers cats to people (then again so do I!) fortunately we went for the cats and were not disappointed.

I’ve been to Paws Cafe regularly since it opened and am always met with an incredibly warm welcome back. The place is spotless - how on earth do you keep your sofas in such good nick with so many cats?! It is my absolute favourite way to spend an hour. All non alcoholic drinks are included in the price and your spoilt for choice on which cat to pet. A real family friendly environment who put the cats welfare beyond everything else. Cannot recommend this place enough and hope you guys continue to thrive and can’t wait to see the new addition Darwin grow!

It's a lovely place. It's clean and tidy. Has a bit of a smell but this is to be expected with a dozen cats roaming around.

This was our 1st visit to a cat cafe & we absolutely loved it. There are 12 beautiful cats; some pedigree, some mixed breed. All beautiful & living a life of luxury! We fussed & played & snuggled, plus each of us bought a slice of delicious cake each. I loved Cleo - a hairless sphinx breed, even though she spent her time snuggled under a blanket asleep. Mocha is especially affectionate & playful. We're definitely going back for more car cuddles when we're next in Shrewsbury.

This place is amazing. The cats are all very healthy and happy,a joy to see! After half an hour you come away feeling very relaxed. Can't wait to return!

I love cats but was not sure what to expect as I paid my first visit to the Paws Cafe today. I thought it was wonderful. The cats were all healthy, happy and interactive. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I think the price is very reasonable as I had an hour for £12 and that included two coffees which alone would have cost around £6 in any other cafe in town. I recently had to have my own cat who was very special to me put to sleep and was not sure how I was going to react but came away feeling relaxed having really enjoyed my fix. I think it is too soon to home another cat but in the meantime I can borrow 11 who are all so gorgeous.

Visited this morning for cuddles with the cute kitties and a lovely hot chocolate, what an amazing place! The owners were super friendly and the cats have such a great place to live and be cuddled. There were tables and chairs you could sit at as well as comfy sofas and an area which you can sit on the floor with pillows so the cats come to you. It was £6 each for half an hour, which I thought was good value - this includes hot drinks of your choice and the money goes to looking after the cats and the place. I will 100% visit again soon!

After visiting during the day a few months ago we decided to book online for the weekly Friday night "Movies and cats" night.For the price of £15 you get to watch a cat themed movie on a 120 inch screen for 2 hours..6-8pm surrounded by the 11 beautiful resident cats with hot and cold drinks included.A lovely relaxing experience and a real treat for cat lovers.Before and after the film you have time to stroke the cats and fuss over them.Very friendly staff who make you feel welcome as well as making the cats welfare their top priority.Will definitely be back.

Found the place dirty and smelly, we were too wary to eat any food there. Staff not very friendly, verging on rude. Cats very unfriendly, wondered if they were drugged!! Cost the earth!! We didn't realise it was timed, and my granddaughter was enjoying it but kept being told to be quiet.

We came to visit this cafe and we really enjoyed it. We asked what the cost were before we entered. So there was no confusion. We enjoyed a nice cuppa and the cats were very friendly. The people and staff were nice and respectable. The venue lovely right in the heart Of Shrewsbury. Please support this cafe if you3 love cats you will love it. It was part of a lovely day out. We was their half hour and really enjoyed it. We would definitely visit again. It is pricey but the money goes to keep the venue open so I never minded in the slightest.

This is unusual although I think there are others around. You pay for your time in there. Inside is really nice and tasteful.

Paws Cafe has become one of our favourite places to visit! The resident cats are all gorgeous and it’s hard not to have favourites. You pay for the time you spend in the cafe and your drinks are included in this price (cake is extra). The whole experience is lovely and the staff are friendly and efficient. Will definitely be returning soon.

Second visit to the paws cafe in Shrewsbury and I love it. Support this cafe, there is nothing to not like about it. The lady on the front desk (so sorry I didn’t get your name) who is from Leeds is the most lovely and friendliest person you could hope to meet and the coffees and cakes here are amazing.

I have wanted to visit the cat café since I knew it was opening. I live quite a long way so had to wait for this visit. I was not disappointed. We spent an hour and it was so relaxing. Even my son-in-law who came along to please us said it was much better than he expected. The cats are beautiful and very well behaved. I agree it would be helpful if you were advised when your time is up but we did keep an eye on the time. We visited Saturday and the young man on reception was very pleasant and helpful. Will visit again.

Spent one hour in the cafe, would have been totally relaxing atmosphere if it had not been for the member of staff serving at the counter. Her manner was abrupt, to the point of being rude and unwelcoming. She spoke so loudly and banged about a lot of the time too. Not at all pleasant. However the member if staff at the welcome desk was very polite and welcoming. The cats were lovely.

Visited when the kittens were still tiny and enjoyed every moment. It felt so relaxing and calming to be around the cats while sitting on the squishy floor with them. The hot and cold drinks are included in the price that you pay for the time you spend there. The only thing you have to pay extra for is the food. The cats were all well looked after and also had the option to get away from the people if everything got too much for them (a room upstairs that only staff and cats have access to). Prefer this to the Liverpool cat cafe as there was a good limit on the number of people allowed in at any one time so the place didn't get too full and the cats didn't get overwhelmed.

Loved it here! Went here during the Half term week so expected it to be pretty busy full of kids, however It wasn’t which was a bonus!☺️

I got treated to a voucher for my birthday which allowed myself and my 2 nieces a lovely relaxed hour with coffee & cake included with the kittens. They are so playful and absolutely love the interaction with customers - they were very relaxed in the company of people and it was nice that they limit the number of people. Both the coffee & cake were very enjoyable too.

Spent a lovely hour stroking & playing with some beautiful cats.Took our shoes off & put them in a locker then accessed the door leading to the cafe.Nice relaxing surroundings with sofas & armchairs to sink into.The cats are very friendly & will come to you to be fussed over.You are asked not to pick the cats up or wake them up if theyre sleeping.It costs £1 every 5 minutes & that includes any drinks.We enjoyed a cappuccino each & moved around the cafe taking photos & fussing over the cats.There is a display cabinet with very reasonably priced gifts to buy.Our hour went by very quickly.We thoroughly enjoyed our time there & can't wait to go back.A treat for cat lovers

We visited the Cat Cafe today and had a fabulous time cuddling the cats and watching them play. Lovely coffee and cake too. We cannot recommend it enough. All the cats are totally loved and cared for by the owners and staff

Lovely hour with about a dozen kittens, all mostly enjoy the company of kids and adults alike! One of them is a very strange looking thing, you will have to go to see which one i mean.

Popped in on Spec for coffee with the Cats. Normally a booking is required but we managed to enter the café following a cancelled appointment. Nice quiet and relaxing environment with the cats behaving really naturally. Watch out for staying over half an hour as it becomes expensive.

Visited for the first time today with my 9 year old son. We both really enjoyed it! Cafe is well organised and staff are very approachable and helpful. Cats are beautiful, friendly and quite obviously cared for to a very high standard. We will definitely be returning and 100% recommend to others!

We was never told the price before or during the visit. We stayed over 2 hours and the 3 of us had 1 drink each and nothing else. We was asked to settle our account at the cost of £28.00 . I was gobsmacked . We was told to read the rules and fill in a form before we went in . They never told us how much it would be . I looked at all the signs before to be respectful and there was not a sign about the cost. I will not be going again as it has left me feeling angry and ripped off. Shame as my friend loves cats and we would have visited often. Never again .

Highly recommend this lovely place. The cats are so beautiful, staff are welcoming and friendly and the cake is delicious. The cafe inside is very cozy and pretty. Me and my step daughter really enjoyed ourselves and we cannot wait to return ❤️

We had another fabulous visit to Paws Cafe today. I took my son and daughter who both really enjoyed themselves. My daughter and I have been before and loved seeing how much the cats have grown. We love it and could stay all day but sadly only had half an hour this time. We will be back though soon Sally and Emma Green

My fiancé and I had a fantastic visit here. We had bought a VIP ticket, which entitled us to an hour at the cafe, with unlimited drinks, a cake each and a coaster each to take away. The decor here is amazing, with so many places for the cats to climb to, little beds & cat toys. The coffee & cakes were lovely. Staff were friendly & very knowledgable about the cats. An hour is a perfect amount of time to spend here, and gives you plenty of time to see a number of the cats. We saw around 8 of the 11 resident cats. We had a great time here & look forward to returning, to see how the cats are developing in a few months time.

Visited the cafe for the first time today and I can not wait to return! We were greeted by a lovely gentleman on reception who gave us our lanyards and offered us a locker to put our shoes in or show covers, we opted to put our shoes in the locker but it made us feel so at home doing so. When we walked in we got a cup of tea and there was a selection of cakes and biscuits, our drinks were brought over to us quite promptly which was lovely. We sat and played with the cats who were so friendly. The atmosphere is so relaxed it’s better than a normal cafe! The cafe was fully booked and it had just the right amount of people in so it was not overwhelming for the cats which I think is best and I hope it stays like this as I can honestly say we had a fantastic time. I can not wait to return it was so lovely and the price for our stay with the hot drink included really made t worthwhile. Keep up the good work guys and we will see you soon!

Visited as a walk in by myself, this cafe is very well decorated with the cat's welfare in mind. They have an 'escape hatch' if they don't fancy being sociable but many were very happy to run and play about. It is a large space and you don't feel crowded - I think they have a limit on the number of people visiting which is an excellent idea.

My daughter surprised us with a visit to Paws. What a lovey place, so relaxed and great to see the cats having so much fun. Nice coffee and cakes too

Fantastic visit with my Mum yesterday! Staff were all lovely and more than happy to chat about the cats. We saw 6 out of the 11 cats and they were all stunning. Simba was our favourite, he was so playful!

What a pleasant surprise dropped in Saturday by chance as a walk in. Such a fantastic experience. Loved the sphinx cat my absolute favourite and blue the cheeky chap that for some unknown was trying to get in bin. Well worth going it really does make you smile .

We visited today, it was awesome ! Friendly staff, great tea and Queen Victoria cake and adorable cuddly kittens.. The cafe looks amazing and is fully kitted out for the cats - you can tell they are their priority.. Definitley recommend, we’ll be back !

As soon as I found out the paws cafe was opening I booked in a time slot. Now a small detail it does cost £1 for every 5 minutes with a minimum stay of 30 minutes. This money not only goes to pay for the staff it goes towards the care of the cats who are very well looked after. Lots of cakes available to buy including vegan choices which was perfect for my lactose intolerate husband who I dragged along. He really enjoyed the cat loves too. There are 11 cats who have the full freedom of the cafe including an area the public can't get too. They have lots of toys and activities, while being quite to sit and have cuddles on the chairs or sofas. Free hot drinks, some cold drinks are also free and there is alcoholic drinks available to buy. It is definitely worth a visit for any cat lovers. I can not wait to go back.
