Was Good food 2 years ago now but twice we've had cold food 1 hour 10 min wait at £25 to feed 2 . We won't be putting up with this anymore. I understand there busy in peak times but instead of saying sorry it's going to be a 2 hour wait but I will arrive within 2 hours be hot and fresh is that okay then I at least have the option bit wasn't warned about a long delay with cold food delivered on the phone when ordering they offerd to re do it and send new food but refused that just because we were so hungry after long shifts at work Like I say it was good but no it just isn't it's not a one off rant either this is the 2nd time 1st time I let it go but others need to know save your money go to the pub or something for food same price nearly

Original review: Unfortunately, in our experience it's no longer the good quality, great tasting Paw Paw that it once was. Extended review: I'm not usually one to update my reviews, but given the owner has taken their time to respond I feel compelled. Unfortunately Paw Paw's response isn't one of compassion, but one of short-sightedness. "Unable to comment, lacking facts." reads their response. Lacking facts? A former advocate who once enjoyed Paw Paw, and no longer feels it replicates that former glory, is indeed a fact. A customer's change of opinion is a fact. Subjective perspective, yes, but nevertheless a fact that we no longer value the taste of the food. This indicates a lack of customer-centricity. With such lacking care, after many years of custom, we'll no longer use Paw Paw. Now: The Service review has been updated to reflect this new perspective.

This is an Asian fusion takeaway. Very popular - so best to phone in orders.

Credit where it's due. Just had a meal delivered and it was excellent. It was delivered fast. The food was hot and the meal was excellent. People are quick to moan but I was really impressed.

I ordered fried rice but the rice was hard and the prawn curry was ok , just small portion if compare with other chinese takeaway in Leamington. The price here also bit expensive. So not really satisfy with the foods.

The sweetcorn soup and the fried rice were alright however the chilli chicken was awful, there was hardly any chicken, mostly just fried batter and the dish came soaked in very sugary syrup. When I called the restaurant atleast they were polite and said it could have been a mix up with the order and offered a refund. Update: To the owner, there is only 1 Chilli Chicken dish on your menu.

It's a Chinese takeaway. The food is superb.

We ordered on Saturday night although they were clearly busy our order was ready on arrival, staff were very helpful over the phone when placing the order as we needed some gluten free dishes. Food was piping hot and delicious as always. We love the salt and pepper popcorn chicken and curries. If you like fresh authentic food then go to pawpaw, we have never had an issue. Keep up the good work pawpaw 😊

Cold food. Usually lovely but alas cold tonight. Refunded.

Avoid at all costs!!! Condescending & rude staff & manager, this is no excuse for a business even during a busy period! The refund policy is to collect all the cold food, that is hopefully you haven’t thrown it in the bin! As they expect you to act like a street animal to collect it all from the bin, I wouldn’t have even served the food to a fox never mind collected it like one! Cold and inedible, unfortunately this isn’t the first time we’ve had a bad experience with paw paw so this was the final straw should have played it safe and went elsewhere with decent custom and edible food, which has had to travel from even further afield!

We had takeaway. It was horrible. 2 star for the duck but bones were splintered. The pork balls were soggy and sauce not good. Edit: apparently not pork balls. It was battered pork in ball shape. Apologies.

It's definitely the best Chinese takeaway in the area. The food is light and fresh, not over salty as other places can be. Love the special chow mein.

Small portion sizes all round. Little flavour. The chow mein was noodles with plain meat n veg on top. What's that? Chicken balls 8 tiny little squares of meat. Could of done loads better myself. Worse chinese iv had in Leamington. Never again.

The food is very good but what it doesn’t like more and cause us more deception to buy more in Paw Paw is the schedule. Is usually closed in the middays. At 13pm always closed. For sure if you open when the people is going to eat you’ll get more costumers. Today I’ll order in other place then.

Ordered on the app at 18.03. Called at 18.49 as still no delivery even though we put ASAP as suggested. The app didn’t show any timings at this point.. We were told the order was currently being cooked in the kitchen and should be out within 15 mins. Called at 19.33 as still nothing. They said they were very busy. The app now showed 60-90mins time scale for delivery.. Got told it was out for delivery. The restaurant is 4mins drive away! Arrived at 19.55. Wont be ordering again - not very hoot but hardly surprising.!

First time we have ordered from here. Chow Mein was very bland. Pad Thai noodles were insipid according to the good lady. Food was delivered Luke warm. Won’t be ordering again.

The food was okay, not really worth the price. The salt and pepper tofu was just batter with a hint of tofu.

Worst food I’ve ever had whole order was wrong chips taste like they was cooked on Tuesday the duck from my duck rolls is missing and the chowmein is rabbit food never ever ever again will I order from this place or would I recommend it if anything I will be specifically going out my way to tell people to Avoid it

One of our favourite takeaways in the area. It can be hard to have reliable options when the household has numerous food intolerances but they offer great gluten free and vegan menus with things that are also both but do not compromise on taste. We order take out from here most weeks and have never been disappointed... well actually i do remember one time England were playing and there was a 30 min longer wait than usual but that shows how consistent i have found them to be for that to be my only not positive memory. The regular order we place is consistently delicious, seaweed, salt/ pepper chips and s&s tofu for vegan and chicken wings, s&s chicken and plain rice, all gluten free. It gets delivered hot, fresh and in good time. Please note the pictures are of half portions. * Bonus points - when you order from their website you get loyalty points that you can collect and take money off your order. So far I've saved as much as £8 of a £33 order in points and i thinks that's fantastic.

Always exceptional food, packaged with care, sensible portions and non greasy. Professional staff, spotless front of house and the open kitchen. We use at least once per month and would recommend to anyone. Only downside is if you don’t pre order, waiting times are up to an hour but that’s because it’s popular fresh food.

Shocking size spent over 40 pounds got nothing for your money will not order again back to my local joke place

Publicised discount was accepted but not applied at checkout. Called and advised to use App: same thing happened. Manager then not available on phone. Gave up and ordered on Just Eat. PawPaw cancelled the order. Eh?! So ordered elsewhere. Two stars as manager called 20 minutes later to say would honour the discount - but was too late by then. Infuriating!

Would give no stars if possible, ordered chips and salt and pepper calamari. Chips were like rubber and the calamari was so dry I couldn't eat it. Was like eating dust! Avoid at all costs

Not had a Paw Paw take-away for a while. Very happy to report it was just as good as ever! Freshly cooked food, on-time delivery and everything nicely presented. It's not the cheapest in town but the quality is what you would expect at a really nice Chinese restaurant. We always go for the Bonsai set meal for two. Nice selection of assorted starters, prawn crackers, 3 mains and a good sized portion of egg fried rice. At £30.50 delivered it is fantastic value for money.

Got there while doors were closing. Won't go back on principle that the woks were still in use.

Seems if you order via Uber Eats they can cancel your order 30 mins before it is meant to arrive on New's Eve when you have not hope of getting an alternative. Why go on the Uber app if you are going to burn customers like that.

One of the best Chinese there is... I always end up eating schezwan sauce and tofu (being a veggie) with chips to dip in the sauce. I've not been able to find another Chinese that does it like Paw Paw

FINALLY A VEGAN CHINESE!!! Other places in the area need to catch up! Truly a fresh experience, despite a 15 minute car journey the food was still fresh and delicious, no traces of oil or grease and the mushroom fried rice was to die for. Will only be going here from now on!! Staff very polite and happy to adapt menu items or create new ones upon request.

Do not rely on the collection/ delivery time. Waited in the shop to collect an order for well over 30mins, with my order being made over 1hr 10mins earlier. This is not the first time this has happened. Maybe select a collection time 30mins before you actually want it.

Been using Pawpaw for 15 years and still cannot find a restaurant to equal their delicious food. This really is the most beautiful Chinese, Cantonese and Szechuan food. No sticky greasy noodles here ever and the most wonderfully prepared vegetables. Always worthy of 5 stars!! Trevor

Avoid. When we moved to warwick Gates on 2016 they messed our order up big time. Havent used them till tonight and guess what. Totally f$%ked our order up. When they sorted it and arrived the £8.90 sesame prawn toast was limp the chicken curry looked like it had gravy on it. Never using again

It was a bit disappointing. The duck chow mein hit the spot but the rice was far from sticky enough and the smoked chicken was dry. Nothing authentic about this food unfortunately.

I always test the chicken curry & fried rice @ any new location to see if they cater to our taste, thiers get 4/10 so I didn’t go back. Arrogance was apparent as soon as walked in.

Always a great Chinese and one of the very few places that offer any gluten free options. It would be great for more gluten free choice though.

Delicious pad thai with chicken and the salt and pepper prawns were the best I've ever had...such great, intense flavours and the biggest prawns I've ever had from a chinese takeaway. Great value for money!

Easy to order online, reasonable sized portions. However stir fry cashew dish did not not have a single cashew nut in it and tasted really very bland (receipt did verify cashew), other dishes pretty average. Although an order was requested to be split and separated into two bags to make delivery to an isolating couple easy it was not. We ended up getting food all mixed up, disaster.

Hadn't used Pawpaw for a few years but had two deliveries this month and both have been excellent. Delicious with good use of vegetables and thankfully no raging thirst afterwards. Delivery was right on time too. Thanks to staff for cheering us up at this difficult time!

Over the past couple of years I have noticed quite a decline in the quality of the food in comparison to the rising costs that seem very steep at the moment.

Ordered online at 4.45. Order confirmed, credit card payment confirmed. Called at 7.15 only to be asked to hold for 3 minutes. Queried delivery and was told ‘it will be with you shortly’ I asked what she meant by shortly! She went away to ‘call’ the driver and then came back and said ‘oh, sorry, your order didn’t print!’so not only were they lying when they said ‘it will be with you shortly!’ They took our money and confirmed the transaction and then decided ‘it didn’t print’. TniscwS third time lucky with Pawpaw which should actually be renamed Poorpoor. Do y waste your time, effort or money as the food is pretty shocking as well! (When it shows up- cold)

Preordered for 7.30 pick up, not ready until 7.50, looked disorganised behind the counter + kitchen, main meals v tasty and large portions but Seafood Hamper v disappointing - luke warm and did not look appetising. But we will retry

Had a take away which was tasty but a little over priced I think! An average sized meal for 2 of us, with a bit of prawn toast for over £42!

Paw Paw I've found is always good quality and the staff are pretty friendly too. It's a bit more expensive that some other local Chinese takeaways, but it is good quality so worth it

Great food! My main dish is house special chowmein with added beef, no vegetables and prawn toast. The portion sizes are good and the meat is of high quality, nice and fresh. Out of the 20 odd takeaways I have eaten not one has been as good or fresh as PawPaw leamington spa. I've never seen an open chinese kitchen where you can see how your food is being cooked. Advice for people. If you're fussy like me, when you order for the first time go in and speak with the chefs to ask how big the portion sizes are and what to ask for if you want stuff added or removed. That way you've met the great guys cooking your food and you get exactly what you pay for. Win win. Balanced review means there must be something I don't like? Yes there is, MSG. With it being a flavour enhancer and the side effect of turning off the signals in your brain telling you you are full up, i don't believe you need to enhance your food at all. Mike

Very good quality food, always order Chinese takeaway from here. For the first time since ordering from here I had an issue with my order, I called and the customer service was good, had my order delivered again by the manager who apologised for the quality and gave me a voucher. Very nice person and dealt with well and efficiently, a great example of how you should deal with an unhappy customer. Thanks and we'll be ordering again 👍🏽

The service is always quick and efficient and you can get a loyalty card that will earn you £10 off !

New Management is disappointing. They used to be professional and clean.I see the hygiene levels have dropped. No masks and handling & pack without gloves. I saw people who pack the takeaway eating whilst handling food..very bad.

I couldn’t find paw paw leamington on here so have had to comment on the warwick one. Cold, tasteless sloppy and disgusting. If you want a good Chinese I recommend the Great Wall in Warwick, tastier cheaper quicker .....

I used to order a lot as it was my favourite takeaway but they are using fake quorn again. The texture and taste is different and I couldn’t finish my takeaway this evening

We don't order takeaway food very often so it's always a real treat to order from Paw Paw. The service is ALWAYS quick and friendly and I was blown away by the staff picking up that I was vegan from some of my order and suggesting choices. The food is AMAZING...one of the few places that cooks tofu properly. And the crispy seaweed is to die for! Highly recommended :-)

Had pawpaw twice now and the quality and freshness speaks for itself. Unusual for a Chinese to come with crisp and fresh vegetables in it! They also do gluten free options but it would be good if they could produce a gluten free menu to make choosing easier for gluten free family members.

Fresh ingredients but lacking flavour and small portions for the price (which would be fine if it was good). Only recommended if you have delicate tastebuds. (Dumplings, salt and pepper chicken wings, Duck in plum, beef in ginger and onion)

Just had a Chinese first time since lockdown! We chose Paw Paw as there was clear information about COVID-19 precautions on their website, which helps as we lived too far away for delivery so knew we could collect safely. Told it would be 15 mins, which was just enough time to drive over and it was ready on arrival. Food still hot once home and absolutely deliciouS! Food tastes fresh and non-greasy.

In this time of lockdown, your choice of eateries is somewhat limited. So where better than Paw Paw on a Saturday night. Excellent delivery service (60-90 minutes as quoted) and the food was nicely presented. We had the Bonsai set meal (for 2) plus BBQ ribs, duck fillet curry and egg fried rice. Between 3 of us there was ample sufficiency and the food was first class. We don't use Paw Paw very often but when we do we are always impressed.

I don't normally write reviews but after this pile of rubbish I thought I had to.........After not having a takeaway whilst being in lockdown we decided to have a treat, the only place we could find open near by was the Paw Paw Leamington. Wish we had never bothered and saved ourselves £40......by far the worst Chinese we've had. The salt and pepper chicken was just deep fried batter the chicken must have escaped, the chicken in the sweet and sour was rock hard, BBQ spare ribs were tough and the sauce tasted nothing like BBQ, the beef in the curry was chewy and to top it all of they could not even get the chips right they were rock hard. I can honestly say never again.....do yourselves a favour and save your money till the decent places open back up after lockdown.

The only time I've had a chinese takeaway with tender (real) chicken. Absolutely excellent and better than it used to be... which was good.

One of the best take away Chinese near Leamington Spa. These guys get really busy at peak times so prepare to wait for food. But all worth it. Great service and food.

After a very long time just visited to pick up a late night takeaway, disappointed is an understatement... Salt & pepper chicken wings smelt off and appeared to have been refried (old and shrivelled), clearly made from chicken which should have been disposed yesterday. Singapore noodles can only be described as tasting like a ready meal from ASDA. Both orders have been fed to the outside black bin, Chicken stank! Nothing really to say apart from PawPaw is not what it used to be. I cannot praise this place enough. Excellent quality of food, so fresh, clean and tasty. My family have eaten many, many meals on the menu and find fault with none of them. Always busy which shows how good the food is. Probably eat there once a month and thankfully not your average takeaway.Excellent food, excellent service

A Chinese takeaway that's always busy is a good sign to me and Paw Paw certainly is every time I've been. (I've filled my loyalty stamp card a couple of times, if that's proof of experience). I've tried something different most times just to see what's best, but honestly everything is fantastic, though for me anything Szechuan is a winner. I've never had something that I wouldn't get again. Service is always quick (I don't think I've had to wait more than 25 minutes) even when busy. Props to the chefs and staff. Is it takeaway night again yet?

I'm not normally one to buy take aways but I can honestly say that the food is amazing,would recommend to anyone, I was never a fan of noodle or beef but now I am, it's worth paying that extra bit of money 😀

Ordered yesterday evening even though they were busy was served quickly, lady who served me was very polite and was very knowledgeable on gluten free options. Food was lovely, salt and pepper chicken and chicken satay were super tasty also. Great service will be ordering again next weekend.

We order once a week on a Thursday!The young lady who always has her hair in plaits is always so friendly, chatty and kind, such a great service she provides. We went in tonight for a weekend treat and an elderly lady with blonde hair served us she was rude and short and made us feel uncomfortable. The great food has made up for the terrible service

Worst food I have ever had! Calamari were dry and rubbery with no taste what a waste of money! Certainly gone downhill from how they used to be!

I have enjoyed Chinese food for 60 years around the UK and several countries in the World but nowhere can beat the fabulous food from Paw Paw.Consistently healthy wonderfully cooked flavoursome food. Try tempura prawns,chicken or beef chow mein and singapore noodles plus roast pork fried rice. Just fantastic!

Our favourite takeaway in the area

We were visiting family and this restaurant was strongly recommended by some of them. We called on a busy Saturday night and ordered for 7 of us. The food was all excellent and I would especially recommend the crispy chilli beef and the half duck. Everything was freshly cooked, well presented and very tasty. It will definitely be on our radar the next time we are in the area.

Excellent food, nicely cooked and presented. You would be hard pushed to find better food in a 'sit down' restaurant. The Bonsai Banquet is highly recommended.
