Shame to see it, but this place is now permanently closed.

First time here.! After parking at Chandos Street car park. Such a friendly greeting. We were shown to a table and explained where everything was. We enjoyed the best chicken & sweetcorn soup! A plate of starter items such as ribs and prawn toast. For mains, there were plenty of options. Wet dishes like beef and black bean, sweet and sour chicken and chow meins. There are plenty of noodle and rice options too. I enjoyed a plate of egg fried rice with mussels in Thai red curry. Lush. Followed by jelly & ice cream. Recommendations for their English tea. Satay chicken skewers. Apple fritters from the dessert fridge. Will definitely go back. LGBTQ friendly. 🌈

We arrived about 4pm. Disappointed to see that quite a few of the items weren't there and what there was wasn't that hot. It seems we were in the after lunch and before dinner slot. Won't make that mistake again.

I have visited this Chinese buffet on several occasions for lunch with friends. The food is good and often gets changed out for fresh. The last time I visited, they were closed even though their website stated they were open.

Went along Mid afternoon which was probably a mistake. Variety of food was not great and a lot looked like it by lying around for quite a while. During the evenings turn over can be a lot quicker do no complaints then.

Check online , the opening time is as normal on google , so we decided to come here for dinner , drove about 1 hr as been previously a while ago and the food was nice , really looking forward for that , parked and paid for it , walked to the place , arrived in front of it and was closed ! So disappointed. !!!

You want cheap you get cheap. Poor quality food, selection not topped up, small amounts in containers sitting a long time, eg soggy spring rolls, soup just warm, chicken toasts chewy, etc. Fine dice of chicken, supposedly crispy duck?? Surely there is a good quality buffet locally?? No interaction with staff, one sat behind bar playing on his phone all meal. Sorry will not be back.

First time in a Chinese restaurant. Never had anything other than chicken curry before. Tried lots of different things today and throughly enjoyed everything. Definitely visit again.

Excellent food, jewel in the crown. Quiet on Sundays even better. Recommended as a all you can eat Chinese in Leamington spa.

I don’t have any complaints about the food except the cost: It was £18 for one person. 😰 I really like their sweet-and-sour chicken and noodles. For dessert, the cake and ice cream were very good. 😋 Apart from that, they had duck, and what looked like tandoori chicken, 🤔 but was very tough. Also, there was this really soft white fish in hot sauce. Also deep-fried chicken balls and on a stick. I went there in the afternoon at about 5:30, so there weren’t many people. The restaurant was well lit with interesting art on the walls, and there was some nice Chinese (I think Cantonese) music playing in the background. I would say the service wasn’t very good. It was my first time there, but they I didn’t really explain what I should do. They didn’t even tell me there was a dessert parlour (counts as part of the buffet). 🫠

We have visit there many times. The service is fine, but the food has declined from what it used to be like. For the prices, we can eat better else where.

We visited on a Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm in January 2024 Poor selection of food. Website states 40 dishes but counters only had space for 24. However there were only 5 dishes which had enough portions for one. ( which were all not hot ) The rest all contained dried remnants. When asked they produced some fried chicken which was tasty, prawn toast ( with a noticeable absence of prawns ) and prawn and ginger which was not good There was an area for salad that looked as if it had been on display for days Deserts were sad chocolate cake, jelly or icecream When asked why so little food was available the “manager “ said they try to serve quality not quantity Drinks were cheap Interior was tired and messy with zero atmosphere Best to avoid unless there is no where else open and you are so drunk you have lost sense of taste and most other senses

My wife and I love going there, the food is great, I wish they had more dessert options, but that's me being greedy as the buffet is very good already.

The food was limited in supply The service was slow. Only one working toilet. 💪 Definitely would not recommend it.

A girls catchup was fabulous with great food and a nice ice cold beer. All dishes at the buffet were very good and the service was super and smiley. A great evening enjoyed by all . Another girlie catch up!! Food great, atmosphere good. Service with a smile and a nice chat with the usual chap on the bar. Here again!! Still as good as ever! Another fabulous feed!!

A great value for money restaurant with friendly staff. The British man who sometimes helps out is extremely friendly and always makes certain that the dishes are topped up. He has even taken freshly cooked dishes to people’s tables before i have seen him do that a few times which is such a kind thing to do..The lunch price is £11.95 and the evening dinner price is £17.95 as they offer aromatic duck and at least two different prawn dishes at dinner so the offering on the dinner buffet includes these more costly food types. On Sunday it’s £16.95 all day and they offer aromatic duck / prawns as well. Starters mains and deserts are included at lunchtime and dinner and you can go to the Buffet as often as you want. It really is the most value for money restaurant in leamington spa.

Two of us went there lastnight 30th November 2023, You can’t fault the food ,,,what you can fault is the guy ( British ) who cleans the tables after there guests have departed , The table next to ours the people left and he collected their left overs and dirty plates and placed them on our table while we were still eating Not right at all no etiquette , no table manners, Personally the whole place needs decorating skirting boards are especially filthy , Prices have gone through the roof £ 17.95 from 5 pm compared too £11.95 up until 5pm . ,,, why ????? Might return oneday who knows Better places in leamington to eat for sure. To sum it up the whole places needs a revamp,

The food is good, fresh food. Basically, anything missing will be made up immediately, and there is no need to wait for too long. The price is also very reasonable.

I’m sorry but close this place down the food was absolutely appalling stale old rubber and I felt bad for the customers paying for a sit down meal in there not like there was many as most probably know not to eat there. Not to mention it’s over priced absolute audacity 😂

Terrible. Been through the day and I'd say its alright,maybe 3/5, but visited for dinner, paid £18 for the worst food ever! Food wasn't fresh at all, and half the food was gone or wasn't available. I got it into my head as I was eating he was going to apologise and ask for half maybe it was that bad, but apparently they have no shame. Never again, very disappointing.

They always say their card machine is not working and only taking cash. It is not fair on customers coming from a far distance!!!!

£20 all you can eat buffet, fresh food great service absolutely bang on

This place is very basic in terms of appearance and could do with some maintenance and cleaning. The buffet food had a varied selection but had been sitting for a while when we entered. Many dishes were cool or luke warm, the sauces had congealed and poor quality ingredients were used particularly in the desserts. For the price, you can go elsewhere and get good quality food made, fresh to order.

Food was cold and stale they had nothing in and when leaving both me and my mum who both ate here felt sick and faint and now have symptoms of food poisoning. We came in not long after it opened and none of the food was fresh and was likely from the previous day which is unsanitary. We will never eat here again and will not recommend to anyone.

Delicious food every time without fail!

We went there it was our first time and definitely our last. If i could give a -10 i would. Book and reserved a table only to find a table wasnt reserved and put at the rear of the restaurant. We was there on a sat eve at 7pm and food containers were at the bottom of the barrel we had to keep asking is there any of this and that . Not what you expect at prime time. The service was atrocious. Everything from tables to cutlery was sticky. The toilets were disgusting used loo roll on the floor in the sinks and all around loo rim . I did complain but they just shrugged thier shoulders . Never going back

Takeaway boxes are small for the price. Warm food served, not piping hot as it should be, especially for rice dishes...meat, unfortunately. Have a small selection of food when containers are filled . Haven't sat eaten in due the price and selection . Not as good as others. I've been too ok for quick lunch, I guess.

The lunch menu was fantastic and the staff were very friendly lots of food and nice and clean and hot food I just wish that we lived closer brilliant.

I like the takeaway buffet, but at £9.00 a box now it's not very good value. You could go to a normal Chinese and get a full tub of rice and a full tub of main for that much. But if like me you like mix then you will love it here

Decent food nice friendly atmosphere worth a visit

Not a great experience which led to a bad stomach. Went in around 4pm, eat all you can for £17.95. Most of the food containers were a quarter full and the food wasn't piping hot and to me had sat there for too long. A single star goes to the restaurant as we didn't eat much so were only charged £10.95. But won't be returning but a thank you to the restaurant for the bill reduction. 5 stars for service and friendly owners. Just a shame about the important element. The food.

Great value 'eat as much as you like' buffet style (and fixed) menus. Always go for the buffet as it's exceptionally good value. Food quality is mediocre and there's no real service as such, they just throw down new plates/cutlery as & when. Ordering drinks can be very slow too. Seating area is quite large so you're not hemmed in. If you want quality, this is not the best of places, but, if you want quantity / value... it's great.

Can never fault anything they cook always tastes amazing and I really do eat as much as I can! Lots of variety of food & reasonable price. Really nice staff very welcoming. Tables/toilets are always clean.. I've been coming here for years since they opened I believe in 2010.

I rate this place highly. It suits me and my needs. However the midday spread was only 4 stars on the day. No gateau.

Obviously came at the wrong time only 2 other people in and all the food was virtually gone and what was left was touch and go of being dry the little bit of duck that was left was dry like card board .definitely for the price was definitely not worth it many dishes empty .as I was leaving a few more people turned up and then loads of fresh dishes turned up .I was probably unfortunate uin my timing but the experience has put me off returning .

The food is still very nice but not as nice as it used to be. A few dishes are off the menu from our last visit a couple of years ago. Chilli beef was very poor, rather gellatinous certainly not crispy. However in the main still great value for money.The gents toilets could do with a makeover and a mop too.

Great little spot. Went on Sunday at 6pm with the Mrs and 2 kids. £15 each for adults £4 for my 2 year old and my 1 year old was free. With drinks and food the bill was only £41. Food was replaced regularly and was to a decent standard. Will definitely be visiting again.

Such a great array of food to choose from! I’ve never eaten duck before but tried it here as someone else recommended it and it was delicious! The staff were friendly and welcoming and kept everything clean and tidy! But the winner for my was the toffee apple!! OMG I’ve never eaten anything so scrumptious I just wanted more and more! Compliments to the chef! We live around an hour an a half away and we’re staying in leamington after visiting Warwick castle but we will definitely be back just for this!! Keep up the good work team!

Went on a Thursday day time . Offer was £9.95 up to 5pm .. Not a big choice but all tasted ok and came out regularly to check what food needed replacement. Good value for a lunchtime and better than having a burger etc . Drink was not badly priced . The day we went was not busy but would imagine a weekend could be . Cash payment

Was rather quiet last time we were there but still very good value for money I like the place a lot.

All you can eat buffet. Choice in the evening is a bit better but you pay an extra fiver for the privilege.

Nice food, good service, canteen style atmosphere.

My wife and I decided to check out the food selection before committing to eating at this buffet restaurant. As another reviewer has commented, most containers allocated to the more desirable dishes were empty with no sign of urgency to replenish them. There was plenty of rice and noodles but not much else. We therefore voted with our feet and walked out. There are too many good alternatives in Leamington to bother with this disappointing place.

I go here at least once a week or I try to. The food taste more home cooked then restaurant. Its not the best food and its really not the worst but what it is. Is consistent and good value I find I do t get tired of the food as like I say it taste more home cooked then takeaway fast food.

Lovely food, quiet inside, serve yourself style buffet. They do serve yourself takeaway boxes aswell, which we grabbed a couple for some friends. Great value for money. :)

Order a delivery from here the other day was told it would take 45 minutes to a hour to be delivered turned up within 15 minutes of ordering chicken curry had massive whole Mushrooms in it when taken out had lost 1/4 of my meal the chicken was chewy and cold partner had satay chicken the satay was not what it should of been more like water and again chewy chicken wasn’t very impressed definitely felt like this was left over lunch and reheated. Very disappointed with this experience.

Horrible food, dry meat, noodles with out soya sos, you have to wait a long time for top up food. I was waiting for fish with chilli sos around 30 minutes and was just one!!! And for 4 of us what like fish. Fresh fruit salad with 3 different fruits 😒. Staff don't understand English 😌😔🥴. My visit was not first time, before was good and yummy food and right now is opposite. Will never back there again.

Great value for money Pan Asain self service buffet with pudding station & a some fast food staples for the kids (Chips, Chicken nuggets, Jelly & a variety of ice-creams ect). Three of us went here for lunch & there was something for everybody. From thr Chicken &,sweetcorn soup, mainly Asian inspired main dishes & a pudding station with a variety of sweets & ice-creams. We paid £10 eaxh for lunch, plus drinks which where very reasonably priced, around £2 for a coffee &,£2 for a pot of Jasmin tea. All food was fresh cooked & hot, as the attentive staff kept topping up the buffet with food as it started to run out several times whilst we where there. Great place for the whole family or a group of friends. They.also offer a takeaway buffet which seemed popular with local trades people & an evening buffet for £15 which has an increased selllection of dishes. Would recommend.

3 of us have just been for lunch here. Delicious food. Fresh, quality ingredients. Friendly staff who were diligent in cleanliness. Thought it to be excellent value.

Not a lot of choose, not a lot of taste. My children aged 8 & 9 years of old were charged at adult prices. Wouldn’t go again, surely there are better restaurants in Leamington Spa.

Firstly I think the price is one of there main issues, when I went there on Sunday with my family me and my daughter didn't eat anything as in my opinion it is too pricey for the quality of food. Not to mention that a 10 year old is considered an adult even if they eat a miniscule amount of food. Another issue is their poor hygiene it is simply horrendous, one thing I will mention that is discussing in particular is the bathrooms they look like they haven't been cleaned in ages and the cobwebs make it look like they haven't taken down the Halloween decor. Another thing to point out is that the staff aren't the nicest, some have awful manners, though there are some exceptions. I will not be visiting this establishment again as I could get better food and service in a pub garden. My rating of 1 is also very generous, if I could it would at least get a minus 10 rating. If I was you wouldn't be recommending this place to family and friends.

The food is lukewarm or coldish, but the variety is decent, there was all sorts of fish chicken and pork, even some mussels, there was one type of soup but fair enough, the food was okay. Nothing wow, or special but we paid little more than 9 pounds per head for lunch.. and for a buffet is not bad at all, we got filled up with different kind of food for less than a tenner. The dessert selection was ok-ish, the ice cream (being of the cheapest variety possible (for obvious reasons) was tasting all the same, no matter the flavour) the only very good one was the cheesecake. the fried banana and the chocolate cake were... average. All in all, if you are hungry and broken, this will fill you up, but do not expect a superwonderful chinese buffet experience here. Fair and square, 6 out of 10 (or 4 stars out of 5).

We have had bad experience of restaurants in Leamington but this was an absolute joy. Very relaxed chilled atmosphere super clean very pleasant staff. Great choice of dishes for lunch suited our party of 1 vegetarian and 3 fairly picky carnivores. Love the sauces being seoarate and mixing and matching. Buffet very well laid out and labelled. Nice chocolate cake and ice-cream icing in the cake. Very reasonable price

Oriental Star has managed to keep to the good standard of quality of food over the years. It's a well established 'eat all you want' restaurant at the top of the Parade in Leamington Spa. Has a good variety of food, beef, pork, chicken on offer throughout the week. I suspect the choice is enhanced over the weekend so overall very good value for money. Popular with families, they have a small selection of desserts as well.

The food was okay, not amazing, but they kept it well stocked and a good selection. The 'Alll you can eat buffet' was cheap. The dessert counter was extremely poor, very little choice, and the little that was available looked like it had seen better days. I don't think I would eat here again. I would have given 3 stars if better choice of deserts were available.

Nice enough buffet style Chinese restaurant. The food was nice enough and at a decent price and you have the benefit of being able to mix and match your message rather than just one course 👍🏻

Would not recommend, spent £61 on 3 of us very little variety to chose from, barely any choice of deserts , charge £3 for a 14month old who didn’t even eat or have a drink .

The food at the Oriental Star is always great quality, and the staff are very happy to replenish dishes should you require more of something that has run out. Tracy in particular is lovely, very friendly and eager to help. We come here at least once a fortnight, and we are never disappointed - highly recommend if you’re looking for a cheap and delicious meal! X

Before you eat check their toilets!☹ the spider webs in tge toilet are huge, often a toilet not working, hot water? Really. Surprised environmental health havent been!

I have eaten here on many occasions and always looked forward to my next visit. However today was an experience I would not wish to repeat service was very poor and half the dishes were unavailable. Staff were non existant.

Would like to give no stars, food is horrible, very poor hygiene and staff is useless.

£8.99 for lunch. Very little variety, no prawns or fish. Then they wanted to charge me an xtra £6 for a 3.5 year old. A joke so we went elsewhere! Would not recommend.

Thought we’d try the Oriental star buffet again after a while off due to lockdowns etc. To say the least the quality has gone down massively and to say that is disappointing. And the price increase seems unnecessary as I can see any decent “measures being taken”. Service isn’t that great either Just not an enjoyable experience since returning. Won’t be coming back anytime soon. Or even ever.

I placed an order and was really excited for it to arrive. It was 15 mins after the latest expected delivery and I thought maybe I was being too picky... NOPE! It turns out they accepted my order and confirmed the timings but then decided they would close up shop and didn't tell me. So I've wasted 45 mins waiting for my food that was never going to turn up. A simple cancellation email would have been nice. Order was placed at 9.30pm and there was no indication that they were closing any time soon. Annoyed that I now have to wait another 30-45 mins/indefinite amount of time for my new order of food to arrive!

First time back since lockdown. Very disappointing - much less choice (many empty food sections ) and fewer options. Will need to find somewhere else for my Chinese food fix

Food was amazing and the service as well it is located in the city centre so easy to acces. I cam for my birthday celebration with my friends and they also enjoyed the food . Coming back.

We had a lovely meal from the Oriental Star takeaway menu ... YUM, food was fantastic and it arrived piping hot... We will be ordering again soon... The food is great, the price is right and the service is fantastic... Thank YOU for your service and kindness... will be back soon...

Ordered takeaway accidentally thinking this was our usual takeaway. It was so much better! best Chinese takeaway in Leamington. It was fast to arrive, freshly made, hot and so tasty. BBQ ribs were excellent so was lemon chicken.

Always amazing delicious food. Always arrives piping hot and quickly. 5* quality food and service :)
