Cake is a rare treat for me, so I'm pretty fussy. I've thoroughly enjoyed Pausa's lemon cheesecake in the past but at around 500 calories I opted for the generously filled apple pie slice, at just over 300. I'm frequently disappointed with apply pies as they are usually too sweet and the apple is mushy. Not this one, wow, nice and tangy, packed with firm chunky pieces of apple, a real winner and very reasonably priced too.

As I was looking around Dunelm I decided to have a cuppa as I usually do ... The staff were lovely as I'm sure they have a busy day I greet them with a smile and always get the same back and some friendly chatter... the cakes looked delicious and well presented even though that day I didn't partake in one ... I always fine the cafe clean the only thing on that day was it was a little busy for me so there wasn't many places to choose to sit but that's not the fault of anyone I can't say I've had a bad experience there and will enjoy a hot cuppa there again when I next go

The staff behind the counter were all miserable not a smile between them not very welcoming, felt line it was a chore for them to serve us, most of the chairs were stained they looked disgusting, the fruit scone was ok, won't be going back, a smile doesn't cosy everything

Lovely scone and coffee but the lady behind the customer was very rude. She was making coffees, taking orders, getting food. We were second in the queue. Another lady was putting out fresh cheese scones and my husband asked could we have one warmed as was stated on their board. The first one snapped, “you can wait your turn in the queue” alright, I thought he could have waited but I thought this was highly rude and no need. She really didn’t look at all happy in her work. I observed her, she didn’t interact nor given a slightest smile to any customer. This has put us off going in future and we have been many times.

The tables were not clean and albeit 'some' tables were 'eventually' being cleared they were not being wiped and remnants of food and stains remained on many of them. I watched a staff member clear some of the tables (not all) but not once did he wipe them clean. I queried this with him stating that we had been there for 40 minutes and the same dirty tables remained unwiped. There were still trays of dirty crockery on some tables which had been there for a long time. I also pointed this out to him. It looked so shoddy and dirty and not nice to see for new Customers arriving at the Restaurant to eat / drink. His excuse was that there were some clean tables left for people to sit at (amongst all the dirty ones) and that they would be finishing service soon anyhow. I pointed out that there were still more people coming in and queuing and that we had sat there for 40 minutes without seeing the tables being wiped once during that time. I expressed my concerns re cleanliness especially as we ourselves are trying to be so cautious during these Covid times. It was not nice to sit amongst the mess! He went away came out from the kitchen again obviously trying to prove a point that he had 'no intention whatsoever' of doing anything about wiping the tables. His attitude was rude and very discourteous. We decided to leave without purchasing anything else. Before leaving, I told him that I would be writing a review .... his response was 'that's fine'! He just did not care! We did go downstairs to report this to a member of the management team before leaving the store. The Manager expressed his concern and stated that he would be following this up with the staff member. I hope he did / does. For us, it will be a 'no return' as cleanliness (and staff rudeness) is definitely an issue. I suggest all Customers look out for this should they eat / drink here in the future.

My friend and I went for a coffee and a sweet treat to have a girly catch up. Very clean and Covid secure. Staff didn’t seem overly enthused for customers. Food was nice, a bit bland but edible enough. Got home, immediately felt faint and sick, subsequently threw up. I was fine prior to arriving. I think the food was packed full of unnecessary chemicals and preservatives.

After walking out of a well-known chain who have introduced a cup charge, my sister and I were looking for somewhere to have coffee and a snack. Pausa in Dunelm was clean, comfortable and well-presented. Staff were very nice, the boards clear and easy to understand and the prices perfectly reasonable. We only had coffee and a muffin, but they were both good. I'd definitely use this place again.

Saturday lunchtime snack. Queue was slow with 2 people serving and another 2 not doing much at all. Had a jacket potato with chilli, can of lemon juice and salted caramel flapjack for £7.90. Bland food, potato tasted of nothing and was luke warm, chilli just tasted of minced beef and salad leaves were bitter with no dressing. Flapjack was dry, only chose it because they had ran out of most of the other things. Charge an extra £1 and add butter, salt and salad dressing. This would make a huge difference. Also the ‘complimentary’ newspaper was 2 days old.

As usual, lovely coffee in a huge cup, just how I like it! Staff very helpful and friendly. Varied chairs for all sizes and comfort levels. Complimentary newspapers a nice touch, too. Thanks Pausa!

Have only had a sandwich here but I wanted to kill some time on Sunday whilst deciding what dressing table to buy but it was very quiet in the cafe and was peckish so treated myself. The sandwich was fresh enough and the hot chocolate much needed.

Called in for coffee as has always been friendly and good food. Today, there were different staff, took an age to be served. Staff were not friendly. Asked for bacon roll,,,, no bacon, asked for sausage roll,,,,, no sausages. Was told they may have an omelette. The server was rude, did not understand when asked for a mocha, even though on menu. Tables were cluttered with pots. It was not even lunchtime. Cafe was cold. Not the comfortable feel that it used to be.

There is plenty of competition in Aylsham for good bread, rolls and cakes but this is still our go to bakers. The quality and value is excellent and the staff are always very helpful ( happy to put rolls aside for me to collect later). I would recommend the cheese straws and rolls but the cakes are delicious too.

So, me and my good lady went here for breakfast this morning, 22/09/24. She asked for eggs benedict and I asked for the full English. My drink was coke and I asked for no ice, of course it came WITH ice but no big deal, I let that go. The meals arrived and my partners was Eggs Royale NOT eggs benedict that she had asked for. I pointed this out to the server and she whisked it away and apologised. My Full English only had one sausage, the menu states sausages, sausage with an S on the end implies more than one and I said so. Also a flat mushroom, as on the menu is not HALF a mushroom, again I pointed this out to the server, along with the fact that my toast had no butter on it and none was provided or offered. The half tomato, again tomato on the menu is NOT HALF of a tomato, looked like it had been cooked before and kicked around the kitchen a few times but I let THAT go too. The poor girl was very apologetic and went off to get my butter, sausage and the other half of my mushroom, along with my partners' eggs benedict, which came back suspiciously quickly considering we had waited for half an hour for our meals previously, and sure enough, she could taste the salmon in it when she started eating. The "chef" had obviously swapped the salmon for ham and sent it back out, luckily my partner is not allergic to salmon.. We ate it and I paid as we were both so hungry that neither of us wanted to try to find somewhere else to get breakfast before the cut off time but we were both VERY disappointed by the whole thing as we expect better from any restaurant but especially one that I THOUGHT was a quality establishment, I was obviously very wrong about that based on this experience, shocked really isn't a strong enough word..

Went this afternoon. They messed up our food order even though it wasn't busy. I collected my coffee, sat down and started drinking it and then they came over and took it away. They said they had accidentally given me my drink in another customers reusable cup. They then bought me a replacement drink a few minutes later which was not what I had ordered.
