Paul Pry in Rochford

We popped in for an impromptu lunch and it was lovely. Not at all busy when we arrived around 12.30, staff were friendly and attentive and food was delivered quickly after ordering and was very nice indeed. Surroundings are pleasant, we sat in the conservatory area but there were also plenty of tables in the main pub area. Food was very nice and very good value - 2 meals with drinks cost less than £20. By the time we left the place was almost full so we definitely arrived at the right time! A very nice lunch and we will definitely return.

Really nice place to go. The outside space is really good but makes me laugh that the small non smoking section is next to the rest which is smoking - like the nasty smell knows to stop there. But at least there's a little separation. Non smokers like to sit outdoors to!

Absolutely disgusting, nothing on menu, everything dry and overcooked, got served rump instead of sirloin, frozen bought in order of the day , should all be ashamed of yourselves, never go back

Took the kids down to the Paul Pry for the Easter Egg hunt. The girls loved it. Not only did they entertain our little ones but they got to meet the Easter Bunny too and they gave out free activity books. A very nice, warm and welcoming establishment. Thoroughly recommended.

Well done Paul Pry for putting on the Easter hunt. All the children (and adults) loved it. So much thought went into it to make it special. Been telling people how good it was. Thank you x

Not for the first time, my family & friends enjoyed another excellent afternoon/evening at the Paul Pry. Food excellent, good value drinks, and polite & friendly staff.

Visited on Sunday for lunch. There were 13 of us and it was a birthday/mother's day celebration. Despite being a busy time for them and ours being a large party.. the service was excellent..food was tasty and hot.

Couldn't really fault it, spirits quite cheap too. Only down side was selfish trappy folk constantly holding doors open for long enough periods to get cold...

My favourite pub in Rayleigh, popped in a couple of Saturday afternoons recently, place was buzzing. Sheril who runs it is always so friendly and accommodating.

Pub seemed dirty. Awful smell which we were told was drains?! Terrible smell like chemicals. Food was awful. I chose just the wrap and drink £8.49. Cheapie lunch so not expecting much but it was awful. A tiny piece of chicken in each half of the wrap. Stone cold. A small handful of cold chips and a salad leaf.

Fun place to head to, wasn't happy about the parking when I came out though, couldn't workout how the other driver got out of their car but I was parked in the lines. Very busy car park, chaotic. Drinks were top choices here and food was smaller than I expected but good quality. I would go here again, but maybe let me wife drive next time 😜

Recently we held a surprise 60th birthday party for a family member and the Paul pry was nothing but perfect and helpful. The atmosphere of this pub is incredible and the staff are all so helpful and friendly. The food we had for our party was delicious and brilliant prices for what you get. I would highly recommend this pub for a party or to just go with your family for a lovely meal out. 100% will return.

Weekday late afternoon so not busy.

Really enjoyable pub which was busy and lively yet absolutely copes with the numbers they have. Didn't have to wait at the bar. Servers really friendly. Venue was busy with regulars and parties etc. Yet nothing suffered per se. Recommend for sure.

Overall, it's a really lovely pub. Made to feel welcome when we came in. Was very busy with families as expected on a Sunday with football on for hubby. Being a Vegi food was average, having the mushroom chilli could have done with a pitta and sour cream for garnish on top, just my preferences. Would come back. Thank you all

I’m writing this on behalf of my husband we had such a pleasant experience with the unorthodox but highly effective Mitchell he has the comic timing that just goes down so well his approach may make people shake heads but he can read a crowd and how they will respond a great asset to the team. Food was outstanding and timely even though the venue was busy compliments to the chef and Katie on who delivered our food another great team member I cannot wait to return and have many more great experiences pub humour should never die in this woke age a

Couldn’t recommend enough!! I booked my boyfriend’s surprise 21st birthday and was able to completely decorate the area at the back while also being able to do karaoke at the front of the pub! Such a fun environment and everyone had such a great time! We had the buffet which was amazing and Cheryl was super helpful! So greatful! 🥰😊

Really nice pub, lots of cosy nooks and crannies to sit in. Food was great - hunters chicken, katsu curry and beef and ale pie. Good sized portions too. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.

I came here for lunch, it was lovely! The food was delicious and hot. I had the burger. Prices were so reasonable and portion sizes are great! The service we received from Mitchell was excellent thank you very much and we’ll definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

10 minutes before our booking we are called that we aren’t able to attend anymore as they have a huge party no one knew about and our table was cancelled. Wasted money on cab fare is here and now having to pay out extra to go somewhere else. Guy on the phone was just like oh sorry. Ridiculous.

Had a family meal to celebrate a birthday. The food was lovely, portion size was generous and the service was great. We will definitely go again.

Booked a large party for my family the day before to celebrate my Birthday and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Food was great and big portions, I recommend the Katsu chicken curry. All the staff were very friendly, special mention to Sheril who really looked after us and made sure everything went smoothly, will definitely be going back

I came here with my grandparents last Saturday for brunch. We had the most incredible service. The lady who served us was so kind and accommodating. We all asked for items to be removed/ swapped with our brunches and it was done instantly without a fuss. The meals came up perfectly and we all felt so welcome. We can't wait to return!

This is a unique little gem, great snacks/food great entertainment and great drinks. Host is very knowledgeable and helpful without being intrusive.... would definately recommend

The service at the Paul Pry was amazing, couldn't fault it! My sister and I were having breakfast with our very elderly grandparents and two members of staff had noticed they struggled walking and getting down stairs etc. With this acknowledgement they were there to help and support them getting to their table. Paul Pry is usually a pub where you go to the bar to order and you take your own drink back to the table, however, on this occasion a member of staff had realised that my grandparents were very elderly, my Grandad being 95, and took our order for us from the table and also bought over our drinks. This was greatly appreciated by all of us and we are very grateful. Then again on the way out the staff were very helpful when getting my Grandad back up the steps. Thank you very much, we hugely appreciated the extra service, it added so much value to the very yummy breakfast! Thank you!

Had a meal here on Boxing Day as part of a large table. We had pre ordered. Food came out quickly, was hot and tasted great. Staff were attentive, not rushing us to leave. Had a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend.

Celebrating an 18th birthday on Boxing Day - it’s a tricky one but OMG the whole team at the Paul Pry were first class. Food was amazing and atmosphere was spot on for the whole group from a 1 year old to 76 year old - and the most important 18 year old was made to feel very special. Thanks everyone!!

Family of 5, we had a lovely 3pm Christmas Dinner in Paul Pry! Food was good, starter and pudding was yummy. Main was ok, was great to not have to cook. Service there was outstanding. Booked a festive meal with family some months ago. Table was ready for us as there was 9 of us. Our waitress Maddie was so friendly and helpful as all the staff were. The food was surprisingly good. Christmas dinner, pies, steaks were delicious. We wasn’t rushed and nothing was too much trouble. Will certainly go back. Well done Paul Pry.

i had a lovely time here! after it’s just me and the kids on weekends, i like them to bring them here as they love fish and chips! i had a couple pints and the kids had 3 diet cokes and had thrill of a time around Christmas, we had lovely called emily who was very accommodating to my child’s fussy eating 😂😂. would love to come again!!

Where shall I start ..... again green king doesn't sell Tia Maria but you can have kahlua in its place .. which doesn't taste the same I can't understand why these pubs ( big pubs ) don't sell Tia Maria !!!!!!! Haven't been in this pub / restaurant for a good 12 years.. Called in with my eldest son for a sit down and a couple of drinks... WOW JUST WOW.. what a fantastic clean and friendly place.. superb atmosphere and when I walked into the garden for a cigarette it just carried on amazing me.. absolutely stunning undercover seating including cabanas you can reserve for small occasions.. (and obviously bigger area's for larger occasions). Can't recommend it enough, we didn't eat but the food looked very very nice👌. It's good to see a pub making an effort and if you drive an EV they have a row of chargers in the car park.. Management should be very proud.

Very busy on a Friday night. Good selection of drinks. Bar staff were rushed off there feet but friendly. Big beer garden. We didn't eat, but they were still serving food regardless of how busy it was.

It was a big family birthday booked for a busy Sunday luchtime. There was a little confusion over orders, but once out the food was both generous and extremely tasty. The staff were also very approachable and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
