PAUL Bow Lane in City of London, Westminster

Clean and decent place. While passing to reach the metro we were attracted by the take away promotion which is tempting compared to the others. We had the pleasure of being welcomed by two Italian guys who recommended the proposals closest to our Italian breakfast. However good the espresso coffee is, it is far from the flavor we are used to, but it is normal to happen abroad. Kind, friendly and helpful! Good value for money for breakfast out in London. We will return during these days of stay in London given the monster accommodation near St Paul's Cathedral!!

They only take card payments. Surprisingly spacious inside but also al fresco seating. Staff are not overt friendly but efficient. Prices are average for the City. Pretty location in Bow Lane.

Cute Bow Lane location, lots of cosy seating and average prices. The savouries look really tasty, the cakes quite simple but pricey. Would recommend a visit.

If you want to feel like you are back in France, this is the place to go. The baguettes and coffee were great and the selection of pastries was excellent. Lovely little find. Lots of seating inside too.

Very nice place to take a sandwich or a pastry with a coffee. Very nice staff and great atmosphere. We had a Macaron Pistache, Tarlette Citron with a Mocha and a Latte. Very tasteful

Very rude guy in till with white eprom. He affect my day .plus the cake was not defrost properly so the cake it's not freshly made I can confirm that .

A small cafe in popular area by city workers and tourist. Nice area with comfortable chairs and electrical sockets for work. Unfortunately they can make proper flat white which tastes more like capuchino with bitter coffee taste.

Friendly lady was serving me. She noticed that the macaron I was buying was for my kid, she offered me to slice it into two pieces. Coffee and macaron was fresh. Recommended.

Best Palmier in London and Delicious Filled Baguettes

Excellent beignets (mini doughnuts with a chocolate filling). Have enjoyed their cakes in the past, and bought sandwiches from Paul stores in both London and Paris. Not the cheapest place, but the difference is in the quality - you really do get what you pay for.

I give it only 3 stars because the croissants where not really up to what I expected from a French place. Also the cafe latte was just 'ok', without any "body" They have good pastries though and the place is clean and we'll kept ..

Compared to local offerings of Pret, Nandos, McDonalds and Costa, the customer service here is very good and the food has always lived up to expectations. Would recommend!

Stopped for a cappacino and a giant macaroon -- loved both. It is in a lice location and has great food.

My friends and I have visited this place looking for coffee and cake. We've had apple tart and pear and cinammon tart, cappuccino and black coffee. Place is small but cosy. Food was very nice and gave us a boost of energy. Before you order the food check is there free table. Good impressiom.

We all know Patisserie Paul make some lovely cakes, etc. But they've come up with a Christmas cracker with their Dinde de Noël baguette. I like the fact the sage & onion and cranberry elements are delivered as part of the bread. Oh and the rhubarb tart for dessert is amazing. Just about managed to stop eating it long enough to take a photo.

Bad service, hopefully not a company policy... Me: “I’ll have a slice of rhubarb tart please”. Waitress: “Sorry sir we can only serve tarts that are already sliced”. Me: “Can you just slice this one? I’ll wait”. Waitress: “No sir”.

Very tasty baguettes for a quick lunch centrally. Had a Montagnard which went down very well. Will get busy at peak times I'm sure.

Cakes - can't get better than this. Along with Konditor & Cook, Paul's Bakery are the best places for cakes on the planet!

I was in between meetings and felt peckish so thought a light soup and coffee would be nice. Paul delivered that for me with a soup of the day that was chicken and vegetables and was delicious. Not too heavy but full of flavor. Bravo chef.

The food is excellent. The only problem is that you pay more to eat in the place.

This outlet of Paul sells the usual decent quality Paul food offerings and it's in a unique, atmospheric laneway location right in central London (between Bank and St Paul tube stations). However, there's not much room inside so you'll be lucky to be able to eat in, although this is not unique to this branch of Paul's. They are very busy weekday lunchtimes with a queue going out the door and not much room for people to leave by, but more importantly the staff got a bit confused in their production line of serving, heating items and paying by which items were for which customer so orders needed to be repeated for each staff member.

I went for lunch to Paul with a colleague and while he sat at a table I queued for the food. I ordered soup and some drinks. There was a long queue and it wasn't clear who was serving whom. One person took my order, passed me onto someone else to make up the order and someone else seemingly to take payment. Eventually they placed my order on the serving counter but I hadn't yet paid. I went to the till to pay but they had charged my order to someone else. It took a while to sort this out with the manager's intervention as the waitress working the till didn't seem to know what she was doing. Eventually I paid and took the food but had to come back to ask for butter for the bread and a glass for the drink. They really need to get better organised if they are going to survive the lunchtime busy periods. Their system of using multiple staff to serve one customer doesn't seem to work well.

I came to PAUL to have a take away sandwich and a white americano to have in. The cafeteria is spotless but I found the most inexperience team ever! I needed to repeat my order at least six times to the gent behind the counter. I understand he was new but he did not know the name either of the sandwiches or what a white americano is. When I arrived to the tilt, I needed to repeat once again at least twice 'ocean sandwich to take away and the white americano to have in' At the end and after paying the medium americano £2.50 and £4.50 for a sandwich, the lady behind the told handed the sandwich to me as such. No bag, nothing. The sandwich directly to my hand! No napkin! I needed to ask for a bag!!! I would recommend to speed up the customer service. EAT and Pret A Manger are by your door step and the service is better and their product cheaper! The team of three was on the 07/11 at 08:30am.

Great bakery with excellent croissants. Coffee is better than Starbucks, obviously.

An attractive lunch venue for grabbing a sandwich, salad or quiche. Good selection of coffees and soft drinks. It can get rather busy with local office workers during lunch hours. On a plus side one can almost always get a seat as lots of customers go for a takeaway option.

Got coffee after lunch but looking at the sandwiches, wish I had had lunch here instead! Cozy interior.
