I used to love shopping at Selfridges, enjoying the in-store experience rather than shopping online. The appeal was being able to try on items with some assistance from the shop floor staff when it came to sizes. However, for the past year or so, I’ve found the experience of going to Selfridges increasingly disappointing. Initially, I thought it might have just been a one-off incident with a bad employee. But after giving it several chances, I’m writing this in the hope that Selfridges’ Management and Customer Service Training team might consider reviewing their approach. As more people in the UK shifted to shopping online, stores have become an experience worth visiting only if they offer more than just products. This includes pleasant customer assistance, the ability to see and touch the products, and the opportunity to try them on. Additionally, being exposed to more items while shopping can lead to impulse buys. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that Selfridges is deteriorating in this regard. In several departments I’ve visited, the customer service team either ignored me, was too busy talking among themselves, or seemed bothered when I asked for assistance. At one point, I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to respond to the bell for bra fitting assistance! Needless to say, I eventually got dressed and went to find my sizes myself. 30 minutes later, someone finally showed up and casually asked, "Are you okay?" The whole experience made shopping in-store feel like a waste of time—unpleasant, and frankly, I felt I’d rather keep my money and shop elsewhere. It’s a shame because without good customer service in store, stores like this wouldn’t function, and I hope Selfridges will address these issues soon.

I recently visited Selfridges, and the experience was amazing from start to finish. The store is beautifully laid out, with a modern and luxurious feel. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, making me feel valued as a customer. I found a great selection of designer brands and some exclusive pieces I hadn’t seen anywhere else. The beauty section was a highlight—so many products to choose from, and the assistants gave great advice without being pushy. It is quite expensive, but the quality and experience made it worth it. I’ll definitely be returning!

Thank you for ruining my Valentine's gift! I ordered and paid a gift out of Amsterdam. My Valentine had to pick it up. He had the order confirmation but they refused to give it to him the delivery because he could not show the credit card it was paid with. Thank you so munch Selfridges, appreciated!

Jellycat@ selfridge is a joke. The cashier Johnny didn’t even look at me while I check out. He gave me the physical keyboard to put my name and email which he was supposed to do. Worst if you got the £130 Jellycat experience the guy did not do any acting all look upset. Worst experience ever. They all act like we owe them money for buying jellycats. McDonald’s have 10x better service than any of these three sassy boys.

Weeks ago I went to Selfridges with no intention to buy anything but to window shop, Raira a Sale Assistant from Memo, with her amazing customer services persuaded me to purchase a travel set of fragrances. Her approach towards me amazed me, to the point that I asked for her name. Thanks Raira 😊

Historical monument in London and worth visiting. Temple of fashion and luxury. Lots of choice but relatively basic in fashion. No exceptional pieces. On the other hand, the store is enormous and on several floors. Loses his orientation. A little moment of relaxation at “brasserie of lights” takes you into a touch of yesteryear with a trendy touch

It has everything and it is close to Ajwad Road. There are also restaurants behind it. There is a delicious Turkish restaurant, Fatayer, and everything. A new cinema has opened. You must go there.

There are a lot of people in the mall on Saturdays, but 80% and 90% of the people in the mall are from the Middle East. It must be that the consumption power of the Middle Eastern people is strong enough, right? Because this department store is one of the most powerful shopping malls in London! The business halls of luxury goods counters such as L V Gucci are open and transparent, without facades, and are very friendly to the people. Shopping in this department store is very comfortable and stress-free. It is a highly recommended mall for shopping in London.

Beautiful store that lives up to its name though a bit over priced! Good variety of branded products. Foodhall is good and worth the price. The staff are friendly and efficient. Go for the iconic yellow bag!

A very large store with several floors. A very large toy store on the top floor with a huge selection. The Build A Bear Workshop is one of London's best. A great idea is the Toy Project - where used toys are recycled and resold.

Extremely poor Customer Service who cannot do anything online and they have to drag you all the way down to the Shopping Centre. Have been buying so many things from Selfridges London, but recently very dissatisfied and disappointed regarding my Givenchy shoes which I literally wore twice for £595.

A great selection of clothing in the women’s designer section. However, the service I received was questionable. I was followed by security in a number of different brands. They were too ignorant to notice I was wearing designer boots and my mammut ski jacket which is an expensive Swiss brand. The staff were more interested in following my movements than offering any kind of practical advice or help. So I took great pleasure in walking back past these staff with the Celine jacket I had just bought in a huge bag which had CELINE, PARIS written across it.

Chapel in Selfridges, an upscale luxury department store located in central London on Oxford Street. It is considered a vital landmark that must be visited. One of the most famous shopping centers in London. It consists of several floors and serves all tastes. It contains famous brands in the world of fashion and perfumes. It contains restaurants and cafes in an atmosphere of luxury, sophistication and comfort, among thousands of visitors and shoppers from all over the world, especially the Gulf. What made it even more elegant and splendid was the presence of a small prayer hall on the fourth floor, which is a wonderful step towards caring for Muslims... We thank them very much.

A beautiful and diverse store with different brands, restaurants and beautiful cafes.

I have visited Selfridges multiple times and have mixed feelings. While the store offers a wide range of products, I found the displays less engaging compared to other department stores. The shopping assistants try to help, but their support often falls short. Even after making substantial purchases, I did not receive assistance with carrying my shopping bags, making the experience more cumbersome. The only employee who offered support was in the Delsey luggage department, and I truly appreciated his help. Due to these challenges, I am hesitant to return for future shopping trips

The demise of Oxford St. As one of the great European shopping streets is greatly over predicted. It’s true that it has gone into a kind of decline, and some people blame the ghastly infestation of these bizarre American style sweet shops, however wonderful anchor department stores like Selfridges will almost certainly ensure that the street lives on. There’s a natural comparison to be made with Harrods in Knightsbridge, but I find Selfridges much easier to navigate, much easier to move around and find things, and it’s altogether at a much more human scale. There are many wealthy people from overseas shopping there, thank goodness, naturally the prices are pretty much the same as those at Harrods. It’s definitely worth a look and there are plenty of good pubs, coffee shops and restaurants nearby to take care of you when you shopped out.

Hive Restsurant …terrible service, food was very average ,overpriced and over rated. They brought the cold starter at the same time as hot main .thry took ages for the drinks,and the desserts are terrible. Do not go here and waste your money.

Selfridges London Mall, London, Oxford Street, has many international brands, but the prices are very, very expensive, and there is a prayer room on the fourth floor.

I bring salary with everything available, huge and amazing value for money! There is everything from hardware stores to high fashion boutiques, restaurants, supermarkets, relaxation areas, bathrooms, perfumeries... one of the largest and most beautiful supermarkets I have ever seen.

Only 14 day returns policy, even after Christmas (they extend returns for purchases from mid November, but with a 2 Jan cutoff off for returns).

The store is beautiful at Christmas. It's very big. The area of ​​furniture and designer things and tableware is nice. It is in the commercial area full of shops around and very easy walking through all the tourist areas. There is a very nice cafeteria and you see happy people at tea time. I liked the store. First time visiting it and it is very iconic among Londoners with collectible furniture. Entering through the main entrance with its revolving doors and the wooden sideboards inside is beautiful. You realize the history this department store has.

Customer service is quite poor . Seems like staff are not trained in dealing with customers. The sales rep at Dior was having a social chat with a customer and clearly saw other customers waiting in cue ,but ignored them. The sales reps should have name tags displayed for proper feedback. I made the purchase from Harrods instead.

I went to Selfridges today to adopt a pre-loved plushie, because I read about it recently. I was extremely disappointed. The plushies were just sitting on a shelf, no tags with name and story, nothing. It looked like in a charity shop. I bought one anyway, because it's for a good cause. The two stars are for the friendly and helpful staff, otherwise I would give just one.

at selfridges there is a large selection of popular brands and a very cool delorean car. some of these brands include bape, comme de garcons, ice cream, billionare boys club, anti social social club and le fleur. truly an amazing shopping experience at selfridges. the food hall is large and has many options for all the meals throughout the day.

As a first-time visitor to London from the United States, Selfridges was one of the highlights of my trip! Selfridge's is like a luxurious high-end mall all in one store, offering an unforgettable shopping and entertainment experience. We kicked off our visit with drinks at the Christian Louboutin bar (yes, it’s as fabulous as it sounds!)—a unique and stylish way to start the day. From there, we explored as much as we could, though you'd need plenty of time to truly take it all in. The variety and quality of the offerings, from fashion and beauty to home goods and dining, were remarkable. If you’re in London and looking for a one-of-a-kind shopping destination, Selfridges is a must-visit. Just be sure to carve out enough time to soak it all in—you won’t want to leave!

The first time, frankly, I enter it as if it were Harrods and the Arabs, and I find it a waste of time. Oxford Street is all miserable, and I do not recommend it at all. The liver is swirling as if I am in one of the streets of Egypt.

Do not purchase lingerie from here. After ordering an item which did not fit, I was appalled to discover it was non returnable when I went to request a return. A NO point during checkout does it state lingerie items are non returnable. If I had known I would not have purchased. I have contacted customer services twice with no response and I am now taking this further with the retail ombudsman/RetailADR.

Favourite department store in the whole of central London been coming here since I was a kid and can’t walk in without walking out with one of the famous yellow bags. Always a pleasure to be shopping here.

The perfume hall is absolutely incredible, if you’re in the Gatwick area there’s a new shop that’s opened up called Pearl Fragrances, they have a good selection of reasonably priced Arabian fragrances! Their perfume oils are very good too, worth checking out.

If you can afford luxury, this is the place for you. Nice facilities, nice cafes and food hall.
