Three of the four sales associates never asked me for my key, and I didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to send in my receipts to get the points after the purchases were made. Brasserie of Light at Selfridges is a stunning dining destination that truly lives up to its name. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by a dazzling Art Deco-inspired interior, complete with the iconic Pegasus sculpture that dominates the space. The ambience strikes the perfect balance between elegance and vibrancy, making it an ideal spot for a special occasion or a stylish meal out. Our visit was nothing short of delightful. The service was warm and professional, with staff who were attentive without being overbearing. We were promptly seated at a beautifully set table, and the menu offered a fantastic selection of modern European dishes with a touch of indulgence. To start, we opted for a mix of small plates, which arrived beautifully presented and full of flavor. Every bite was well-executed, showcasing the quality ingredients and attention to detail that Brasserie of Light is known for. However, one small hiccup was that our drinks took quite a while to arrive—long enough that we had already started on our starters before they were finally served. While this wasn’t a major issue, it was a little surprising given the otherwise seamless service. For mains, the selection was impressive, catering to a variety of tastes. Each dish was prepared to perfection, and the flavors were well-balanced, making it clear that the kitchen takes great pride in its craft. One thing to note is that dining here does come at a premium price. That being said, given the location, the impeccable surroundings, and the overall experience, it feels justified. You’re not just paying for a meal—you’re paying for a glamorous escape in the heart of London. Despite the slight delay in drinks, Brasserie of Light delivered a fantastic dining experience. If you’re looking for a place that combines style, great food, and a touch of indulgence, this is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for a slightly higher bill, but in a setting this stunning, it’s all part of the charm. Would I return? Absolutely!

Never was a fan of Selfridges as I found this shop too unwelcoming. The stock lever is very poor so the choice of ladies wear. Unenthusiastic staff, which I strongly believe is a miss from the management. Bizarre layout and on the top of everything else not the best location. I won't recommend going there if you are pressed on time, there are way better shopping locations in London. Perhaps a tourist would want to visit at least one, yet again - there are better spots in London worth your time. The cinema, I heard is good. Restaurants are so so.

After looking around the department store, I was about to go out to the Oxford Street exit on the first floor when I heard a security guard yelling at me. He spoke in a whisper so that only I could hear, and since the distance was very close, I heard it was a ching-chang-chong. When I asked him what he had said, he pretended not to know at first, but then said he would report it to the department store, and only then did he apologize. I was offended and reported it to the department store information desk. I've traveled to London five or six times, but this is the first time I've done anything like this, and my good mood all day got so bad. Department stores shouldn't hire employees who provide such service to customers, and even if there are employees like that, I hope they train them quickly and, if worst, fire them if they don't improve. If the same thing happens to other Asian customers, don't hold back and report it to the department store. A security guard in Oxford street door side said Ching-chang-chong to me and I pointed out him right after I noticed those words. He denied that first but he admitted that as I said I will report this to the department side. Yet I don’t think he takes this seriously even understand what is problem. I reported this to information desk of the department after that. I really feel terrible and even regret to come travel to London this time. I hope they take action for this and improve their employees education how to deal with multicultural customers.

imagine being swept into a world where every decision, however trivial, feels like a moment of destiny. that was precisely the experience my best friend india johnson and i had, courtesy of the enchanting jocelyn in the food court. we found ourselves at a crossroads, perplexed by the myriad sweet treats before us, unsure of which would be worthy of our attention. enter jocelyn, with a coy smile that could only be described as mischievous yet utterly inviting. with a grace that seemed to defy the very laws of physics, she guided us through our dilemma, making the most complex decisions feel effortless. but that wasn’t all. in a move that could only be described as serendipitous, she pointed us to the perfect spot where we could indulge in our sweet selections, like a conductor orchestrating the finest symphony. truly, jocelyn’s presence transformed what could have been a lacklustre experience to an afternoon i will never forget.

Don't bother buying anything of value from Selfridges, espdcially from a concession. You're better off going to another department storethat cares about their customers. They will only help if items are bought within 6 months - even if item is not fit for purpose. Care too much about their profit lines and not enough about selling quality items or looking after the people who buy from them. They rely on their name, but you're better off going to John Lewis, or even Amazon.

I used to love shopping at Selfridges, enjoying the in-store experience rather than shopping online. The appeal was being able to try on items with some assistance from the shop floor staff when it came to sizes. However, for the past year or so, I’ve found the experience of going to Selfridges increasingly disappointing. Initially, I thought it might have just been a one-off incident with a bad employee. But after giving it several chances, I’m writing this in the hope that Selfridges’ Management and Customer Service Training team might consider reviewing their approach. As more people in the UK shifted to shopping online, stores have become an experience worth visiting only if they offer more than just products. This includes pleasant customer assistance, the ability to see and touch the products, and the opportunity to try them on. Additionally, being exposed to more items while shopping can lead to impulse buys. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that Selfridges is deteriorating in this regard. In several departments I’ve visited, the customer service team either ignored me, was too busy talking among themselves, or seemed bothered when I asked for assistance. At one point, I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to respond to the bell for bra fitting assistance! Needless to say, I eventually got dressed and went to find my sizes myself. 30 minutes later, someone finally showed up and casually asked, "Are you okay?" The whole experience made shopping in-store feel like a waste of time—unpleasant, and frankly, I felt I’d rather keep my money and shop elsewhere. It’s a shame because without good customer service in store, stores like this wouldn’t function, and I hope Selfridges will address these issues soon.

Not great. Food took a while to arrive even though the restaurant was almost empty. steak was tepid so sent it back. French onion soup wasn't particularly hot either. One of our party's food was forgotten and came after everybody had finished. No chamomile tea (but lots of other flavours?). Teacup was dirty so swapped it. After all that, no apologies whatsoever and the waitress had the cheek to ask for a review. Well this is it.

Been away from the City for just about a year and food price went bonkers. Bank card sized festive mille feuill and a latte for £10+, and this Paul certainly is not the most comfortable one in London. Probably my last visit, adieu

March 2025. I think the whole experience, food, price and quality is excellent. The French onion soup is exquisite. It's our go to place when we visit London where we enjoy a lovely meal with friends. I wish you were in Sheffield!

For the price they charge, I would expect much better service. We had a dinner for my anniversary. I specified that, when booked the table, however no one greeted us for our celebration. We had 6 course tasting menu. Food was ok, but not more than that. Despite being a French restaurant, I sensed a lot of middle-eastern notes in spices and sauces. My wife did not touched the mushrooms, but no one asked her if she wants something else. I was almost running for the waitress to get the bill. After all that, 13.5% were included for the service fee. Don’t understand how restaurant with such service gets a Michelin star. Very disappointed. I am sure there are better venues in London
