Paul in Kingston upon Thames

I just hate it when I select a place to both dine and work and realise the internet is so weak. I could hardly check my emails or any other website on my both phone and laptop. I let them know but this is after I decided to pack and leave. :(

I love the hot chocolate at Paul. It is thickest and richest you will find anywhere. A friend and I stopped in here for a quick catch up and coffee. I had the hot chocolate, which I loved. It was a friendly and quiet spot, and I enjoyed my time but I’m rating this trip only three stars as the tables were quite dirty when we were there. I had to take a napkin and wipe it myself. We visited on a Friday afternoon about 4, and it wasn’t particularly busy, so not an excuse. I will visit again and hope it will have improved.

While the coffee and patisserie are of reasonable quality, the staff are so unfriendly and rude with absolutely no manners. Worse the seats are so filthy. Impossible to find a clean place to sit. Kingston Council should shut this place down.

We were very hungry on a hot day...stopped in and enjoyed the cool air conditioner and good sandwiches. Nothing fancy, nothing bad. Service was good. I wouldn't seek it out on purpose to eat here, but it certainly met our needs.

Rude service and dirty tables. While Christmas shopping in Kingston. My family and I needed to rest our feet. We popped into Paul’s, as it was a well known bakery. The person serving was rude and not helpful in getting tables cleared to enable people to come and sit. My daughter ordered a deluxe hot chocolate and it was like mud, no cream or marshmallows, expected more for what they charged. Both my husband and my daughter could not drink this. .I had a coffee and a mince pie pastry, this was dry and tasteless. I would not recommend, nor will I visit here again. It’s overpriced and dirty tables. Before I left I needed to visit the bathroom,this was also not clean. This company need to know we are in Covid times and they need to up their standards to remain in business.

It is ok,but sadly my sandwich bread was not cut properly and all the filling fell out. But I definitely recommend the tarts.

Unbelievable. This happened again. My sandwich is completely frozen. I can't eat. The lettuce is terrible like a plastic the tomatoes and chicken completely frozen. This happened the last three times and Im REALLY DISAPPOINTED

I visited Paul Kingston couple days ago. It was the first shop after lockdown and I was really happy with the food was really fresh so amazing croissant . I was in servicing of one young girl she had really good knowledge on cakes and she make an really nice flat white . I really recommend this shop for your daily coffee and about your safety .

I found myself in Kingston last weekend and was so happy there was a Paul, as I love their bread and pastries. I didn’t see any baguettes but asked if they had any and they said yes and pointed to three sitting in the window. I paid and left and was very pleased with my purchase. Sadly the baguette was stale and horrid - which I only discovered once at home tucking in. It was a total waste of money and something I don’t expect from this chain. I didn’t ask when it had been baked, as I assumed it would be fresh. It was obviously the last one (it was about 13.00 in the afternoon). I shall never come back here and will stick to London based branches.

The food was nice enough, but the service wasn’t great definitely not service with a smile. Which is what I would have expected given that it’s not cheap. Don’t think I’d bother again.

Tried tuna sandwich and was better than expected, tasteful and quite big! We had to share it! We enjoy desert as well, best millefeuille ever, accompanied to a lovely cups of coffee. Also mention the staff, they were very kind.

the staff are extremely friendly and happy. They always make me smile. The coffee taste nice and the sandwiches are so fresh even the breakfast deal they have is so affordable. The pastries are so fresh

First time visiting Paul in Kingston and I have to say they do amazing coffee, pastries, baguettes... everything. Came with my 2 sons and they also enjoyed their babyccinos ! Will be visiting again !

Ran in to grab a coffee and a snack but ended up staying much longer than anticipated as it was very relaxing inside and staff made me feel welcome. Delicious food, especially the pastries!!!

I would not recommend Paul’s in Kingston. Staff are lazy, rude and unfriendly. Floor is always sticky. Tables and chairs dirty. Slightest rush and they just cannot cope. Pastries are great though. Shame about staff. Try one of the local independents instead! Local Hero or...

This restaurant has a wonderful array of cakes, pastries and bread. We chose to eat the Almond croissant and Hazelnut eclair, both of which were delicious.

Found this place for coffee after passing by other coffee shops. It's small but plenty of staff. The cappuccino was very tasty and the cake I chose was to die for. My only complaint would be that the eat in price should be as well...

Apparently this place has a reputation for it's pastries. I cannot argue with that if it is a bad reputation. I had and expensive strawberry tart,the strawberry's were tasteless and the pastry was rock hard. My wife had a chocolate eclair which was not nice....

Great pastries especially the apricot anglaise which has tart apricots on top of buttery flaky pastry. Coffee is also good but find some of the staff very lazy.

Great selection of cakes, breads, sandwiches & baguettes. Nothing run of the mill with Pauls. Apricot tart to die for. This is my third visit and see no reason to go anywhere else. Staff excellent friendly & helpful 😀

As per this chain in general the food is good quality and coffee fine. The lemonade was a bit watery though. Would visit here more often, but they only have a small shop and indoor tables are often all taken so have to pass on...

What's good: Fresh bread, parties and coffee. Space to sit outside and watch the world go by whilst you consume your purchases. What's not so good: It's in a shopping precinct so the view isn't anything to get excited about.

Lovely sandwiches. Such a pity that prices to eat in versus take away are so steep. I dont mind if the experience you pay for is worth it, but not when tables are left uncleared and dirty. Dissapointing
