Patley Indian Restaurant in Milton Keynes

We had a takeaway last night which was excellent. The chicken madras had succulent meat and a very good sauce. We decided to try a lamb nehri which had tender lamb and again a very nice sauce. This is Indian cooking at a high level. The only slight negative was the naan bread which we didn’t enjoy as much as in other restaurants. Looking forward to our next meal.

We came for a birthday dinner, had a warm welcome, attentive service and delicious food - look forward to visiting again!

They were good to get us a reservation on short notice. The whole restaurant was busy. The poppadoms and chutney were done of the best I've had. Very generous. Unfortunately the service went downhill as they got busier. It a long time for the mains to come and they forgot drink orders. The special mix starter was meh. Lots of onions and weird freezer deep fried tempura prawns. Not the one. Naan was ok. Biriyani chicken was dry and the vegetable curry had no flavour. The handi gohst did not have enough sauce. Some of the meat was fine but some was tough. The restaurant was really well decorated and had a good atmosphere.

Great service and a rich ambience make this place inviting. However, I found that the paneer and chicken dishes were overly sweet for my taste, and the veg starter options were limited compared to other restaurants. Overall, it’s decent for non-veg lovers.

Came to Patley for my partners 50th. Had the best time. Food was amazing. Service was great! Booked the table about a month in advance. There was about 27 of us. The whole team were amazing, especially Mashfi!!. He gave me his number at the start so if I had a questions or queries I was able to contact him. Before the restaurant had even opened he allowed to come in on the morning the party to drop the birthday cake off and decorate the table, incredibly helpful! We had a set menu with poppadoms which was about £26 pp without drinks so we had a mixed shared starter and the a selection of 4 different curries, rice and Naan and Bombay potatoes too. There was sooo much food!! We had a few people in our group who were vegan and the selection for them was great too. ☺️ all in all we had a great time. Will defo be coming back for eat in and takeaway. Truly grateful for the support from the whole team at Patley, thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolute gem of a restaurant. Visited twice this year and both times we were not disappointed. The friendly staff were very helpful in altering some of the dishes. Will definitely visit again when visiting the area

Thoroughly Disappointed – Would Not Recommend As a family that truly enjoys Indian cuisine and has dined at various Indian and other restaurants globally (as reflected in my previous reviews), our experience at Patley in Newport Pagnell was deeply disappointing. The food, unfortunately, was mediocre at best and overwhelmingly sweet. We ordered mushroom paneer, butter chicken, and duck tikka, but every dish tasted excessively sugary—so much so that even the bread was sweet. It genuinely made us wonder if sugar had been mistakenly used instead of salt. When we raised our concerns with the waiter, he casually mentioned that he had “warned us” that the curries were sweet—though we were never told that all the dishes would be like this. Additionally, the texture of the curries was unpleasant: thick, lumpy, and reminiscent of baby food. It’s disappointing that sauces weren’t refined or passed through a Chinois to improve their consistency. To make matters worse, when we declined dessert due to the overwhelming sweetness of the meal, the waiter jokingly brought out candies. While intended as humour, it only added to the frustration. To be fair, the rice was well-cooked, and the service was adequate. However, the food fell far below what one would expect from a restaurant, both in taste and quality. This was not the authentic Indian dining experience we were hoping for, and we will neither return nor recommend Patley to others.

Best Indian food in Milton Keynes

This restaurant is an excellent choice for a meal out or takeaway. The quality of food is exceptional, the service from the team is also top drawer, very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We can highly recommend Patley.

Mashfi was very attentive and welcoming. Excellent atmosphere and experience. Recommended.

Very delicious food and decently priced.

Absolutely rubbish, I'm not chef, but a Shami kebab is supposed to be sift made with mixed lamb and lentils, nope what i got was shoe leather. My main dish was the Tawa, the chicken was fine, lamb was was like eating rubber. I had heard good things about this restaurant, but won't be ordering again.

Always an amazing meal and fantastic service

I have been going to Patley for a while now, I have got to know the ever attenative staff and the owner who will do nothing other than want to please. Being Indian myself I am very fussy on my Indian food but this place is actually as close as you can get to authentic Indian food, they really do cater to all requests. Well done to the whole team I look forward to more meals dining in and take aways in 2025.

Food was very nice as usual but 1 poppadom for over £50 of food is a joke. At least 2 probably 4 is the going rate as given by Moza up the road.

Unremarkable for the money (£250 for 7 people). Nothing was wrong (except I got chicken balti when I'd ordered lamb) but nothing was 'wow' either. Asked to arrive earlier than our 6pm booking and then the food was slow to arrive to make us order more drinks. Apart from the 'sizzling' dishes, all of the food was luke warm, many of the dishes were over-sweetened and all had been packed out with large pieces of undercooked vegetables. The portions were adequate, but not generous and we were served extra chutneys and rice that we didn't order. A pleasant enough meal but I doubt we'll return.

A really nice meal with a friend. I'd booked online but didn't get a conf and when I turned up the staff looked a bit confused. I thought it might be busy but it was fine. Food was lovely, the staff were mostly attentive until the end of our meal when they took a while to notice we were after some more drinks. However, very minor. The food was served in good time and piping hot.

Ignore the outside. Interior is excellent and so is the service and food.

Outstanding food and service, 100% recommend. We had a variety of starters, rice naan and curries all of which were cooked to perfection. The food took a little while to arrive but it was certainly worth the wait. We boxed up the leftovers and had complimentary shots and sweets.

When you are a coeliac and you ask what you can have on the menu. Reply everything apart from the naan bread. Amazing choice, and amazing food.

Had an amazing Monday evening meal at Patley. From the service to the atmosphere to the food everything was amazing! We have been looking for a great Indian restaurant for a while and we have definitely found it. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thanks to Sam and the team!

The atmosphere and service was warm and inviting and the food was great!!

Unfortunately we did not have the best experience at Patley’s. The food was average - I’ve tried many Indian restaurant and this did not match at all. We ordered a variety of curries and dishes and we found them all to be quite bland. The one thing which was good was the mango lassi and that’s about it. The waiters were nice but we were seated on a very small table for 6 people and the plates / dishes did not fit on the table - it was quite disappointing to be honest. Wouldn’t really recommend.

Tasty, freshly cooked, and generously portioned food from the local. Really nice inside too. Overuse on the coconut (e.g. in the saag paneer which was unexpected). Always great service.

Came at short notice and even though they were fully booked, very accommodatingly they managed to find a table for 2. Excellent wine list and amazing duck tikka masala, only of the best curries I have ever had. Only wish I lived in the area so I could use it regularly

Superb food (my wife can't stop talking about the Ajwani Salmon). Good service and surrounding that make this small restaurant a destination. You won't be disappointed. Heads up you might experience a wait for your food but when it arrives that will all be forgotten.

It was rather loud in the restaurant but not too difficult to hold a conversation. The starters were delicious, but the mains we ordered were a large step away from what you'd expect from most other Indian restaurants, there was a lot of coconut in the tomato based curries which isn't what you'd expect.

Tried this place for the first time to have some Indian food. It took literally 45mins-1hr for the food to come and when it did come, it was bland, tasteless and sweet. One of the dishes was sweeter than the mango lassi i was drinking! Would not recommend it to people looking for authentic Indian food or even wanting to have a delicious meal in general. Service was nice so rating it atleast one stat otherwise zero for the food.

We ordered a takeaway at a friends house on Saturday and it was excellent. I’ve given up ordering takeaway Indian food in Bedford as I’m usually let down but over the boarder into Bucks seems to be where it’s at.

Well presented restaurant! Pleasant greetings! Good place for small groups! élégante! Maybe an addition of a couple of female staff would fulfill but the gentlemen are doing great!

Excellent meal last night, for an 18th Birthday Party

My self and my college went down to Milton Keynes for the evening we were looking for local restaurants and we came across this restaurant. From the minute we arrived the staff where very friendly the atmosphere was great and the food was amazing really impressed with the whole service Not only that they gave us some sweets to take away Thank you very much highly recommended this restaurant

Incredible food. Couldn’t ask for better service. Reasonably priced too. Free parking opposite. This was our first time here but definitely won’t be the last!

Great meal, and service, just a small room with a lot of people made for quite a noisy couple of hours. Just goes to show how good the place is. Really enjoyed it, and will be going back soon.

We went here after a recommendation for my daughter’s birthday. It was the most perfect evening. The decoration made it a very “instagramable” experience for my daughter, the food was outstanding as was the service. The evening was ended with a specially arranged birthday cake delivered by the waiters whilst singing which really made my daughter’s day. I highly recommend Patley to everyone, we shall be back and also using as my new go to take away. Thank you all at Patley for being so welcoming, we shall see you soon.

The best Indian takeaway, ever.

Great food, atmosphere and service. We were a table of 16, all meals came out promptly, we had an array of dishes which were very tasteful. Keep up with the good work. We will hopefully be back in the near future.

Just home from our first visit to Patleys wow what a great experience. We were served mainly by Atik, what a really helpful guy and so attentive . Would definitely recommend it and cant wait to visit again.

Wonderful meal and service from the Patley team every dish was a treat

Waste of money £25 clearly more bothered with dine in customers. Overpriced low quality no care. Ordered food actually spoke twice to the same guy requestin green chilli in both veg dishes he 'said yes I will make sure' told him twice as you do. What I received was zero chilli not even close just bland mush. Ordered tandoori spicy naan as advertised on the menu and received a cold half burnt plain naan. Driver arrived not knowing the total and said he does not have £6.05 change. I explained that again haha TWICE I told the boy who took my order make sure driver has change as I only have 30 quid. Annoyed that after making them aware twice still had no idea speak good English when it comes to payment total on the phone. Had to stand in line at hotel like a fool with cold food waiting to get change. You all too busy too communicate with eachother? Pointless

Everything was perfect. Service was spot on and refilling drinks as soon as they were empty, lots of smiles and friendly approach. Food was beautiful and fresh and didn’t take long at all to come out considering it was busy! Will definitely be coming back soon.

Fantastic service and amazing food. This is a, hidden in plain sight, gem of Newport Pagnell. We booked using the website and turned up to be greeted and shown to our table. As a novice to curry the menu was easy to use. The food was delicious and fresh and the nan bread was amazing. The total bill for 4 adults, a bottle of wine was £101 so great value.

I went to the Patley restaurant last night for a dinner with my family and I must say I was extremely impressed with the quality of food as well as the service. I go to many restaurants but I can confirm that this was one of the best experience I’ve had in a restaurant in a while. The food was exceptional and had so much flavour. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Went with my wife for my birthday treat today. 29th May. The food was excellent.

Very much enjoyed the food, service, and esthetic of the restaurant. The service was top class, we had a very friendly server. The manager was clearly on top of everything and was running the restaurant well the evening we went. The food was fantastic! We loved every dish we ordered, but we especially enjoyed the naan bread and the butter chicken. We left feeling full and happy. 10/10

Very very good Indian in Newport (and all of MK). Great service from Russell - attentive and available without being overbearing. Food came quickly and was v tasty. Had the mango chicken with lime and coriander rice - great. Onion bhajis also top notch. Defo recommend.
