Due to am emergency I was unable to be with my Mum on her 80th birthday. I thought sending a cake for her small party would mean I was taking part in some way. I didn't notice until after I had ordered that the cake needs to defrost for 6 hours. I immediately emailed and ask to switch to a next day delivery. I was relieved when this was confirmed. However the day before and no cake. My Mum will now have a cake that will arrive on the day of her party so cannot be eaten.

My wife and I were given a gift voucher , as a Christmas present, for 2 x cream teas with an extra voucher to take away 4 cakes. This was our first visit to Patisserie Valerie in Silverburn, its open air within the enclosed shopping centre and we were impressed. Its a very relaxed atmosphere, staff were all friendly and welcoming and the cake displays were excellent. We were served by Moira, service was first class, informative and friendly and we were presented with a 3 tier display of fresh hand made sandwiches, scones, cream and jam pots and a selection of cakes on the top tier, teas and coffee with refill. The 4 cakes that we took away were high quality. All in all a memorable experience and was a special gift

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible! Left me really angry and upset (in tears). Thought I'd use my Xmas present voucher to go out for afternoon tea with my husband. Checked the opening times on the web which said open 10am-5pm. We had an hour's drive to get there. Arrived at about 4.15pm, and as it said it was open until 5pm I stupidly assumed we would be able to get served - how wrong I was! The place was completely empty and looked like it was closed. Upon asking a member of staff at the counter, I was informed the kitchen closed at 4pm!!! So you are NOT open until 5pm Patisserie Valerie, you effectively CLOSE at 4pm and you are paying your lazy disinterested staff an extra hour's wage for standing around doing nothing!!! My hubby tried to cheer me up with a wonder around the shops and as we were returning to the car park we saw the 2 members of Patisserie Valerie staff making coffees for a member of staff from Wagamama's and another person!!!!!!!! It seems they are perfectly happy to serve centre co-workers, just not members of the public - appalling customer service!!!! Please take note Head Office of the behaviour of your staff and the terrible impression it gives to customers, please also ask the manager of your Silverburn store to amend their misleading website opening hours to reflect they CLOSE at 4pm.

Very disappointing, waited as per sign to be seated and ignored for substantial time while staff milled about. Sat ourselves down and then ignored for further period. Eventually went to to till to try and order. Member of staff absolutely manky, so many staff not doing much. Won’t be back.

Visited here with my elderly father. The large menu board says brunch breakfast £10.95. A bit expensive for the items listed but I thought was bound to be good - how wrong was I! Flat cap mushroom had not been peeled. Sausages had skin like condoms. Poached eggs looked great but were ice cold inside like they just came out a fridge. Bacon like leather. Father couldn't eat it. I managed the bacon and sausage as a mater of determination but all else left. The server looked thirteen a d sporting 1" long nail extentions. Went to pay the bill it was £30.60 for two breakfast and two tea. The bill said breakfast was £11.95 each. When I asked the server she said the large illuminated menu at the entrance is an old menu. No apology. No question of how was your food. Nothing. Even though the plates being collected were still covered on food, no question as to why. Poor service. Poor experience. Won't be back.

Good location just out of the main drag so not a million people passing you by. Regularly purchase coffee to go and staff are extremely helpful, efficient and mannerly. Pass by other cafes situated in Silverburn to go here and will continue to do so. Have read the various conflicting reviews re staff but I always find them excellent.

I walked through Silverburn Shopping Centre, Glasgow from M&S passing several very busy eating establishments to find Patisserie Valerie almost empty - Now I know Why! It was after 2pm so the sun was shining through the glass roof and the windows in the roof hadn't opened it was 17C outside the centre and the staff behind the counter were being cooked by the sun = the heat was like an oven! I stood and waited patiently at the "WAIT TO BE SEATED " sign two members of staff were behind the counter who knew I was waiting but didn't come over to serve me - another member of staff who finished serving her customers came over and asked if I wanted Tea or Coffee to sit-in or take-away - I answered Sit-in and I was shown to a table for two and given a menu to chose. The young girl serving me was very nice and helpful and I couldn't fault her Big welcoming smile and service. I ordered a pot of tea, Sourdough Chicken and Bacon Baguette and a slice of Coffee and Walnut Cake. The Pot of Tea was OK! but Both the Sourdough Baguette was hard and dried out! as was The Walnut Cake almost stale at the edges- Not the delicious cake I remembered from West Nile Street PV. I wrapped up half of the baguette to let my daughter see it and she said I should have complained as it was Stale due to being left out on the counter! The sun beating down on the counter is drying out the bread and the cakes- I did mention to the lady when I paid my £16 about the heat drying out the bread but she chose not to hear me!! I had interrupted her conversation with her colleague! The next Time I will visit Tim Horton's at least the doughnuts aren't stale! I thought Lockdown would have improved the service at PV but obviously NOT!!

My friend and I popped by for breakfast and had pancakes bacon and maple syrup along with a lovely large cup of latte. We were served by Moira and Kat who were both very very pleasant ladies, very attentive and a credit to Valerie patisserie. A superb service will be back again next time I’m visiting Glasgow.

Ordered 2 hot drinks and 2 cakes. After a half hour wait , I asked a waitress what was happening and was dismissed , yes, it’s coming. Another 5 minutes I went up to the counter and was told it was very busy and a 20 to 30 minute wait. I explained that I had already waited over 30 mins. Waitress said. We have 60 people, it is busy. I had observed 4 waitresses running around - all serving the one table , a drink at a time and so on. Absolute shambles. A large dose of practical staff training and customer service training badly needed. We then waited another 5 minutes , we were totally ignored, and so we. walked out. So. The hospitality sector has been struck badly by COVID Well, I would expect sharpness and eagerness to serve but , no, some people just don’t care

Ordered a strawberry gateau for Christmas,, the size of gateau was tiny , do probably 4 people. Charged £37 + £5 delivery. For a total of £42 this gateau is WAY over priced for what it is . Don’t mind paying the money for a nice gateau , but it’s more to do with the size of it , shocked is putting it mildly…. Lesson learned

Situated within the Silverburn Shopping mall, I always considered this chain to be more of a coffee house/bistro but their breakfasts are pretty good too. I had the main offering - 2 fried eggs, beans, sausage, 2 rashers of bacon, huge mushroom and a roasted vine with small tomatoes. 2 slice of toast completed the feast. My wife had a croissant with fried egg and we both had a pot of leaf tea. Excellent value at just under £15

My friend and I had a delicious afternoon tea here recently. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. The unlimited tea and coffee were lovely and the dainty sandwiches and cakes were tasty and in just the right combination and amount to leave us satisfied but not over-stuffed. Would definitely eat here again.
