We had been exploring the delights of Stockbridge and came across this place by chance. What a find! It was quite small and the tables were fairly close together but there was a good choice of lunch options and the coffee was excellent. I'd definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Edinburgh.

Ordered two flat white coffees for my wife and I. Her one was fine, mine looked like yesterday’s dishwater. I took it back, only to be told by a surly, unsmiling assistant that they were both ‘made at the same time.’ That’s as maybe, and clearly made with the same coffee grounds with my insipid, unwelcoming drink following my wife’s. A new one was thrown down shortly afterwards by said surly unsmiling assistant. Do better!!

The food was decent never my 4 star score but the customer service was appalling, not a word was said by any of the staff even a hello or goodbye. Even when a staff member came to take our order did say a word even what can I get you, There’s so many nice cafes on the area @ we won’t recommend or won’t be back.

Ruim aanbod vegetarische gerechten. Aanrader is de croque Messier met zalm.

Have visited edinnbuyrgh on many occasions but would never think of ever going back to that establishment plenty of other lovely cafes and restuarants with nice people and a lot nicer food.

We were taking an elderly friend out for lunch. Edinburgh’s “grand hotels” no longer cater for a light lunch. Patisserie Florantin allowed us to book a table (we couldn’t have our friend have to stand waiting for a table), and the menu was just right - with enough choice, and not over elaborate. (One of the grand hotels offered “Lebanese with a Scottish twist”). Good food. Good value. Thank you.

Have been here before always very good. They have fantastic bagels which aren't those tough chewy ones they are lovely. Yummy smoothies. Lots of different gluten free cakes....not just chocolate brownie!!! I think there were 5 or 6 gf cakes can't tell you how unusual it is to have such a choice. And for me the staff are always important and they are very nice in this cafe. It's a really popular place so they possibly don't need me to recommend it!! It's not huge....we shared a table with another couple so that's the only thing maybe you'll go along and won't get in but give it a try it's worth it I especially like having breakfast/brunch there.

Lovely little cafe. I visited here a few days each week for around four months whilst I worked round the corner, although I did try a few of their other options on the menu which were lovely, my main order was their smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel which was devine. This paired alongside a cup of tea and a malteser slice, which was to die for. I think it became a little bit too regular, as one of the lovely women who work there knew my order before I even ordered it, which made my stay there even more welcoming. The staff are all lovely, very quick with making the food and always on hand if needed. I was always made to feel welcome, especially since I dined alone, and I will be disappointed to say that today will be my last time visiting the cafe for a while as I will be starting a new job further away. However, I will be making a return visit here in the future!

There are many eateries in Edinburgh siutable for the fuller fat-cat funders and the most modest money manager. But ... the real trick is to find one that's just that wee bit cool, carefree ... and yet custonmer-caring and just genuine ... but with no holds barring the offer of good food and value. Such a clear contender is "The Florentin Cafe" near the Bridge over The River Dean at Stockbridge. Sitting amongst the complement of happy smiling customers and similarly disposed staffers, we spent an amusing and memorably comfortable hour being served and demolishing our feast of teas, coffees, scrambled eggs, pork sausages, bacon rolls, beautifully-crafted cakes and sandwiches. The place itself is homely and unpretentious, clean and curiously uncluttered. The clientele included a famous female journalist, author and TV regular whose privacy we left undisturbed. The prices were commensurate with the quality of all on offer and the location of the business. The welcome was "Haste Ye Back" ... and we'll be back.

There is a cozy back room with small tables where they have art exhibitions. They open at 8am - which is great - and it is a dog-friendly place. It can be difficult to find a reasonably priced restaurant in Stockbridge but we thankfully found this place. It is a charming little cafe with outdoor seating and great ambience. It is perfect for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The first day we went I got the scrambled egg with salmon. The portions are very generous and the salmon was exquisite. On the second day I got the club sandwich which was scrumptious and again it was a great portion size. As it is situated in a popular area of the city it can get very busy so you do have to grab a table as soon as you see someone leave. The downside is because it is so busy the staff often don't have time to clear the tables. Great little place for lunch.

This cafe has a huge amount to offer and is popular with locals but it was let down by the service on this visit. A smile and a little friendliness wouldn't go amiss. We waited an inordinate amount of time trying to get attention for the bill so gave up and went to the counter where the indifference continued. We stopped in around 6:30 pm on a sunday. Everywhere was mostly closed or closing and we saw they stayed open on weekends until 8. We went in and we each had a different version of a hot chocolate. You can choose milk or dark chocolate which is really nice. My wife isn't a big milk chocolate person so this really appealed to her. We asked what sweets they had and the waitress told us their selection and apologized for it being so small. We didn't think it was a small selection. We ended up getting two caramel bars and whatever she recommended. She brought us a peppermint bar which was really my favorite thing we had there. The sweets are very well made, not overly sweet but plenty of rich flavors. I would certainly recommend this place for a coffee or a sweet as you walk around Edinburgh.

Had lunch today here and the food was amazing and staff were so friendly. We had the croque madam, French toast and eggs royale - couldn’t fault any of it. Good atmosphere aswell. I’ll be back !!

Popped in for a coffee with my wife. The service and atmosphere was amazing. The two girls serving were a delight and their names are Julia and Stella. Plus the coffee was excellent.

Steht nirgends. Also am Tresen bestellt. Es dauerte 50 Minuten für "fast food". Alles etwas klebrig, keiner hat gefragt, ob man noch etwas trinken möchte. Fish u Chips waren naja, Burger war ok. Insgesamt so gar nicht unser Ding.
