Pret is always the best value place for filter coffee and croissants. But shwarma is delicious

Reasonable prices. Affordable and a must.

I’m often in this Pret and staff are so friendly & helpful. Store is well designed. Member of staff today restored my faith in human nature as I was buying cup of tea for a homeless person sitting outside, he gave me it free of charge 😍. We all need to help each other and I was so touched by this gesture (please don’t give him hard time) so was the lady who got the tea. Thank you so so much 🙏

We stayed for 3 days in Edinburgh and had breakfast 3 times at this place. Why go somewhere else if it is great?! Food The food is really fresh and there is a lot of choices. I have to say that i dont understand the price diffrence for dining in or take away. But oke. Maybe because You can take some water in the back and there is a lot of space to sit. And clean! Great! Dont forget the toilet! 👍 Staff The staff was everyday super friendly, the man at the counter friday + sunday had a genuin smile what was a great start of the day! Thank you for the warm help everyday. If i would go back, i still rather have breakfast at this place then at the hotel what was also good😊

Sadly let down by extremely surly, arrogant staff. Wasn't made to feel welcome. There are too many similar establishments on Edinburgh for Pret to think it's ok to behave like this and think folk will return. They won't!

I was skeptical of the new ginger spice cookie but I gave it a try and it was very good. The staff were very cheerful and kind. Excellent customer service!

Pleasant staff. A lot of choices. Clean place, a little away from the main road. Possibility of eating on site or nearby park.

The richest in the entire United Kingdom in terms of coffee chains. There are many options for breakfast, snack or dinner. I otherwise recommend the soups!

Meh. As it's in the middle of Edinburgh, every thing is more expensive than should be and the service was functional but not friendly. Drinks were real quick though but I don't think I would go back again when there are so many other options available around.

Too good to go to avoid: avoid taking a too good to go. The time to pick up the order had been changed during the day. When I showed up to pick up my bag, the store was closed and no one was there, so I asked for a refund. It’s unacceptable to make people go crazy like that!

We had a late lunch of soup and kale and cauliflower macaroni cheese with a coconut milk latte and green tea matcha latte. Service was prompt and food was enjoyable. We asked for a top-up of hot water and instead were provided with a top-up of frothed coconut milk which was unexpected and very welcome.

Starbucks should take notes of this place. We need these in the states. Amazing quick food and drinks.

Awful, dropped by here for a pit stop, 4 staff members totally ignored us behind the counter. rude and unwelcoming, food is overpriced and quality poor.

Used to be the best Pret in a city center but no more... Nowadays, they are understaff, a lot of people are newbies, cashier mess and do not cooperate with barista. More often they miss orders and lane is usually too long.

Good coffee and food. Take advantage of the club membership, it's worth every penny.

Typical city centre based chain coffee shop, products average at best, not the most enthused staff and the shop itself was untidy. That said, most of the other chain places are similar.

The closing shift barista and new manager make the experience, alongside Prets great food and drinks

Not exactly cozy, but the coffee and food are great. You can eat breakfast on site or take it with you. There is something for every taste.

This is the second time I've had issues with this pret. The first time, I found a piece of rubber in a wrap and yesterday I had a onion baji wrap and have had significant stomach issues since. Would stay away from this one.

Wonderful staff, great food and excellent coffee. If you are a regular get the subscription, it saves loads of money!

Fresh food and nice coffee. OK if you are looking for no service. Staff make no effort to tell you the system. No effort to clear table clean table . When asked to they give you a look as if to say no my job. Shame training is not better as this experience was with more than assistant.

The coffee is better than anywhere else. The food is overpriced. But at the end of the day you go to a cafe for coffee not food. Worth it.

Food was absolutely fine but the female who served me had a face like fizz and couldn’t wait for me to leave. It was mid afternoon on a Tuesday so not exactly a busy time. She seemed annoyed that she had to serve me instead of chatting with her colleague.

Perfection staff are amazing kind friendly really make u feel at home in Hanover Street pret staff in this branch are above and beyond and they make good strong coffee

Apparently this pret chuck’s customers out at 5:29 on the dot, male server very bad attitude shout everybody out as we are now closed when we had only just bought our food! Very rude and arrogant also argumentative attitude towards all 5-10 people still sat in, lean over my wife to say we’re closed everyone out!

Awful environment, staff arguing between themselves. Batista was extremely rude to the customers, this lady was shouting and swearing whilst doing the hot drinks. Also waited about 15 min for one cappuccino and a macchiato. Won't come back for sure. Awful and negative experience.

Just such a handy place to race into..its always busy but queues move quickly. Food excellent and fair choice. Staff very patient! One will usually find a seat if wanting to eat in. Specify to serving staff if take away or eat in. I have experienced 3 Pret a Manger in Edinburgh and all good. Kings XLondon excellent bar service take away.

I had delivery order from this place. They put almond croissant instead of plain. Thanks that I do not have any allergy on almond. And did not add cutlery for porridge as it was asked.

I had a lovely dhal soup. It was very nice.

Very regular go by place and a very busy place, coffees are awesome, big fan for fizzy fruit juices and muffins, daily I pass by this place as my job place near to pret a manger why can't I grab a coffee when I'm off to work 😉, staff were very polite and helpful, window side sitting and coffee are the best combo ever experienced in this, shop looks very cozy and you can feel the vibes, I had a coffee previously in this very particular shop and was raining outside was one of the best moments. I strongly recommend this coffee shop as service wise top notch and coffee and foods are very nice overall I like being a pret a manger daily customer, thank you team.

A GREAT GO-TO. Pret is always a reliable place to go. The food and drinks are of a consistently high standard and the staff genuinely friendly and helpful. We had hot food namely a falafel & halloumi wrap and tuna melt toastie. Both were terrific. Large americanos and spelt cookie chasers and we were sorted. Continually good. We'll keep going back.

Was very disappointed. The macaroni cheese was dry as a bone and slightly warm. The toilets are definitely in need of a good clean and upgrade. One of the staff, behind the counter, had a handful of what looked like single ply napkins and was licking his thumb to separate them and put them on top of trays in the glass cabinet......yuk! Will definitely not go near it again. p.s. the tea was okay.

I went in here with my 9 year old daughter today and had to walk out as the man serving was so rude. He couldn't understand what I was asking and mocked and sniggered in the process of ignoring my question. Went there instead of Costa because it was much quieter, now I see why... Enjoying a lovely hot chocolate break elsewhere. Wouldn't bother folks!

This is probably the best Pret in Edinburgh and is certainly superior to the Castle Street branch. In my experience Pret has the worst coffee of any of the main takeaway joints. It is worse than Starbucks muck and even McDonald's is better. The sandwich I had was good but they are more expensive than Marks and Spencers products which are just as good. Incidentally the only reason that I visited them was that it was rather cold and I wanted to warm up.

As always. But, check the timings, no all branches open at the same time.

Fine pret just as any other one, but seemed to have a bit of a smaller selection in terms of sandwiches and salads than other prets. Breakfast smoothie was rather average, but the hummus chipotle wrap was quite good! Plenty of seating for chatting with friends or studying.

Good range of baguettes and sandwiches plus salads. Great coffee. Lots of seating and always busy. Today the service was excellent. Male barista welcomed every customer with genuine smile. Makes such a difference to the experience.

Good drinks, didnt eat the sweets but they looked pretty dry.

We came in for lunch around 4 p.m. 4 types of prepackaged sandwiches /1-2 per type/, 1 packaged main dish and 0 soups were laid out as a selection. This is not an offer.

Wrong coffee made twice. I asked for oat late not coconut late.

Went in there this morning for a coffee and breakfast roll. The woman who served me didn’t even greet me (tall, with long dark hair) very unfriendly. I ordered my coffee and after she rang up my purchase she never said a word to me and just gave me a blank stare. After a few seconds she just called the next person forward so I then realised she wasn’t making the coffee and her colleague behind her was. She could have actually said to me ‘my colleague is making your coffee, it’ll be a couple of minutes,’ or something as I am not a mind reader. Whilst waiting on the side another few customers were served and then the lady making the coffees who never once glanced over her shoulder so had no clue who was there just handed my cappuccino to a woman who had come 2-3 customers after me so I wax the last one standing. Normally, I wouldn’t really bother about it but to be fair I wax in a rush and I had already waited behind another lady for 2-3 minutes so by the time I got my coffee I had waited well over 5 minutes, not really acceptable considering the roll (which was a tough panini style, not the usual brioche one and was just awful and mostly ended up in the bin) was pre prepared and there was only 2 people in front of me was ridiculous. Customer service was non existent and food and coffee below par snd over priced at £6.20. You can go around the corner to Greggs and get a bigger and better coffee and a bacon and egg roll of much better quality for £2.75 so I’ll certainly be doing that in future, staff in Greggs are also friendlier by far and so is the service.

The staff are always so lovely and welcoming here. Most of them know my order because I come in so regularly! Really friendly and my coffee is always well made. :)

Good tuna toastie, and mango smoothie. Staff were helpful. But I was disappointed they no longer seem to do the avocado open sandwiches or the crayfish sandwich. Please bring them back, or you'll just be the same as all the other sandwich shops...!

Small but friendly cafe. Good direction of sandwiches and cakes. Love the Earl grey tea here, it's the best of any I've had anywhere!

Great place for a good cup of tea or coffee. Their Earl Grey tea is lovely. Venue was very clean and tidy with very friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of snacks / cakes, very tasty.

We all fancied a quicky at half time during the England vs Scotland game. Mr Horn offered to purchase so we all chose our favourite items based on his generosity. Mr E Mo pontificated that he is more generous than Pete Shilton. And he was really generous so that's saying something and credit to Mr Horn and Gamblers Anonymous. Anyway, TNT chose the Vegetarian option, much to our surprise. He loves a big cheesy one and he opted for the 12 inch. He doesn't like a BBC though and refused to touch it. The food took a while to arrive but nobody minded because Mr Horn kept us entertained with anecdotes about Scotland and England. His wide raining vocabulary to describe the game was inspiring and confusing in equal measures. We were fortunate that Damien / Harry arrived halfway through and offered to help with Stella. Without their help Stella would have caused even more damage and the Green Party and Amanda are grateful. Young, young Charlotte. She ordered nothing and devoured everything. Mr E Mo said she is like the cordless Dyson he wished he had had but these are like a diamond in the rough and he likes it smooth. None of knew what he was talking about but when he eventually said that he would like to share some egg mayonnaise with her I think we understood. In the end they opted for Tuna followed by Tomato Soup but that sometimes happens during June. They declined coffee preferring Lily The Pink. It was one of the best lunches we have ever had and we would recommend it. Best to order really because it gets busy and the food takes a while to arrive. One last recommendation, TNT suggests you all remember The Way of The Fist.

Good food as normal, very clean and organised

I popped into Pret to get lunch but they no longer appear to be selling my favourite Herb and Avocado wrap. I hope that is only during lockdown as it would be a shame if that didn't return. Reason for the review though, is that when i passed the shop later on when it was closed to the public there were two dogs inside tied up to one of the sandwich trollies which they then pulled over and you can imagine the chaos that followed. I think I will give this branch a miss from now on in case it is one of the staff bringing their dogs into work. Very strange.

I give two stars, one star for the friendliness of the staff and another because at least you can sit
