The dishes were all well done across the board, and tasted authentically Thai. I highly recommend the Tom Yum Goong (nam sai/clear), which you may specially request from the staff. Everyone is also extremely friendly and service is fast and efficient. Easily the best Thai cuisine in London!!! Aroy mak!

Excellent food! All of the usual Thai favourites are on the menu, plus a few more different dishes, and there are specials as well. This is part of a chain but the food all looked to be made fresh to order, apart from maybe the spring rolls. Calamari is great, with Panko breadcrumbs, and the mixed seafood special was fabulous - fish in a light batter, prawns, squid and scallops, in a great sauce. Came to just under £50 a head with starters, mains, drinks and service.

Excellent food and service. Absolute bang for the buck! We ordered the sharing appetiser platter, green curry and rice, and coconut ice cream. Definitely going to visit again!

Amazing experience!! Visited Patara before the Christmas carol concert at Royal Albert Hall. It was Perfect! Service was amazing from start to finish and the dishes were incredible. Prawn Thai Green curry was one of the best I have ever tasted! I would definitely recommend. Viognier was a fab choice too!

Lovely service and interior, but I didn't think the food was that great. For the price I'd expect a lot more and the portion sizes were also fairly small.

This place knows nothing of authentic homemade Thai. This factory restaurant chain gives you the cheapest watery brand ingredients hoping their western guests don't know the difference. Having lived in BKK and DXB, it's the worst Thai I've ever had by a mile.

Visited with family for an early dinner. Restaurant was empty but staff was rushing us along even though we had a reservation. When food arrived, although beautifully presented, the curry dishes tasted almost the same and there was barely any chicken in them. The beef with chilli and basil was too salty and not spicy enough. The papaya salad was certainly not the same standard it used to be. Dessert was the saving grace - their coconut ice cream can’t be bested. Very much doubt we’ll be returning again despite years of going.

My wife and I had lunch here. We ordered the gold set meal for two at £50 per head, which isn’t cheap, but we are in South Kensington. The amount of food served was perfect to leave us sufficiently satisfied without having to waste food. Overall nice flavours and good service. My only slight moan was that the satay chicken and scallops starters weren’t served hot enough. Would revisit though as the food was good.

We always enjoy eating in this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. This is one of the best Thai restaurants. Really delicious food. Highly recommend.

Food is excellent - always is - but the added treat was melt in the mouth mango, and sticky rice.

Very expansive for a pretty average meal. Have had a lot of Thai food in many restaurants, felt this was good but not special. For the location and price would have thought it a level up from an average Thai restaurant.

Patara has been my favourite Thai restaurant for almost 20 years. I was regular at the Beachump Place restaurant, which has closed in this Pandemic. The food is always tasty and good. Wine collection is slightly over priced. Staff is very friendly and ready to help. Overall it is a good up scale Thai restaurant.

This is a nice restaurant and the food is good. We found the service very rushed and felt they wanted us to eat quickly and go. As soon as we finished our starters, the mains were on the table. As a result we felt the food must have been sitting and waiting and probably not as fresh as it should be.

Sadly one of my favourite restaurants pre pandemic. Some of their signature dishes are, I’m sorry to say, vile. Used to be devine. Must have changed chef. Menu with photos should have warned me that things have gone downhill.

A lovely Thai restaurant which offers a 2 course lunch menu for £13.50 Mon to Fri. Excellent value and beautifully presented. The wine is also very good and well priced. The service was excellent and all in all a lovely lunch. Will definitely go back again.

We enjoyed our experience but would add that we were a little dissatisfied with the dim sum starter for the overall cost. <br />We felt we got a better option for our money at Orient in China town.

Had not been to Patara for many years but went there for sister’s birthday we had a beautiful afternoon. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall The food was tasty except for the satay prawns, sauce that was too diluted. Thai green curry was excellent

We had a nice meal overall but thought it was overpriced.

My wife and I tried this Patara having only been to the one in Soho before. The ambience is not great and the service was pushy and rushed. The courses were brought out very quickly with no break between starters and the main course. They must have asked us five times if we wanted desert, which we did, but after a break. Overall verdict, we won’t rush back.

The staff were lovely and the food delicious.

Great experience here, however I find the food a bit too expensive. Although the taste was good, they lack spiciness which is crucial to a Thai dish. Maybe it would be better if Patara could give options for spiciness for some dish.

I used to enjoy going here but last night was very disappointing. Since my last visit the quality of the food has gone down sharply and the prices up. I felt the food was no better than you would expect from a takeaway. Our main courses took ages to arrive and it seemed the kitchen was mainly focused on getting the takeaway orders completed rather than getting us our food. Compared to other Thai restaurants it is expensive with at best average food. I will not be going back.

We have often eaten at the Beauchamp place Patara - sadly closed at the moment, which we would rate as superb. So this was our first time at the South Ken branch. The staff and service here were great, but the set lunch was not as good as Beauchamp place - slightly more oily and with less of the fresh zing and subtle fresh cooked flavours. So not bad, but not amazing.

Overpriced unfortunately, my braised beef was extremely salty, my friends curry was good. It is good thai food but nothing special to justify the high prices. The atmosphere and service was 10/10 though!

I am really sorry to say it was a very disappointing experience. The food was not as good as what I have had years ago there and it lacks ambience. I feel the restaurant was very tired and needs to be freshened up.

Really lovely Thai dinner, would 1000% go back! I had my fave chilli basil beef and it was unreal, with mango sticky rice for desert. Would highly recommend!

Great food, excellent service and an all round enjoyable experience

Food was good, lots of veggie options which was great! A couple of dishes we didn’t like, including a vegetarian dish with came with a fish-sauce and no warning. Luckily my friend thought it smelled funny and asked before we ate it, and also there was a tofu dish with lemongrass where none of our group liked the sauce. However, the mushroom and basil dish was incredible and would definitely have that again! The restaurant itself became extremely stuffy and the air hazy, so much so that it was really warm and uncomfortable at one point when full. Staff were polite but not super helpful in advising us about the fish-sauce situation, and were difficult to get the attention of. Desserts were very small, and when we were given the menu we weren’t advised on what was unavailable until we ordered. Overall, it was a pleasant evening, but I don’t think I will return on a busy Friday, and maybe try again on another day when it’s less busy! Will definitely be back for the mushroom and basil dish 👌

Food is great but make sure you get a table in the main restaurant and not tucked in around the front - we we stuck right at the back with no space, it was cold because the door caused a massive draft and there was zero atmosphere! Shame because the food is excellent

My main course was not served hot, Luke warm at best, I’ve felt unwell since with a very bad stomach. The food in the past has been excellent but on this occasion it was disappointing.

I am actually writing about the Hampstead patara which i have visited many times. I have also eaten at their Kensington Branch. I am dismayed that the Hampstead restaurant has not reopened as it is in my opinion the best in Hampstead. It is depressing to walk past and see the mail piling up and the menu collapsed in the window. it was such a pleasure to dine there. Are you not going to reopen???

My boyfriend is very picky regarding Thai food as he lived most of his life there. But the food was so authentic and delicious. I will definitely come back again. The service was amazing too, everyone was extremely friendly and made us feel comfortable.

I had not been to Patara for a number of years. I live close by and it was a regular haunt for many years. I returned this evening and I was very disappointed. The food was very average. It is all other cooked and not at all like I remembered this favourite local gem. The green chicken curry at £14 had about 5 small pieces of chicken. The crab pad Thai was dry and the crab had been cooked for hours. It is not cheap. They need to improve as it has lot its ratings. Difficult times for restaurants an I hesitate to review this but honestly Patara improve. I won’t be back.

We'd been meaning to try Patara Fulham Road for years and finally decided to go. We're not terribly experienced with Thai food, so went for a set menu at £40pp. We ordered a bottle of wine which after 5 minutes were told was not available and were steered towards a bottle £12 more expensive. The starters were pleasant, the chicken skewer with a peanutty sauce was really tasty and spring rolls not at all oily. Mains were nice, sea bass was good, courgettes were really intetesting. The ginger beef tasted overwhelmingly of lemongrass to the point of really tasting floral. A shame as the beef was beautifully tender. Listed dessert (salted caramel cheesecake) was not available so it was a chocolate fondant type sponge instead with a coconut icecream which was lovely and possibly the highlight of the meal. Overall it was a pleasant enough meal, but just not outstanding for us, but maybe Thai just isn't quite to our taste? Atmosphere was a little lacking, but it was a Wednesday evening so maybe just down to that.
